Awesome place and service, pizzas and other dishes are always delicious. Great cosy atmosphere too

We dropped in here with a group of five persons and got quickly all our meal during launch time. The food itself was really good and the service fast, friendly and attentively. The price was cheap because of the weekday special.

Delicious food. As well as the exceptional pizza, the pork chop (pictured) was out of this world. Great range of cocktails too. Usually busy, so well worth booking a table in advance.

Have always loved this place, but my visit today was spectacular. What business does a Pizza joint have in making literally the best Roast Beef lunch I've ever had in a restaurant? It was sooo damn good (Only sunday's mind). Add to that the Affogato which was absolutely ridiculous. Honestly, what's a coffee doing in an ice cream? Service was magical and we were made aware of some discounts without even knowing about them. Excellent job Kentish Town!

Gorgeous Pizza! Lovely place and food, I will definitely recommend it.

Nice little restaurant just up from Kentish Town station and the O2 Forum. Good quality pizza from a wood fires oven with quick, attentive staff. Nice one.

Consistently best pizza of London, never disappointed. Helpful staff. Can be very busy so best to book in advance. The club's nights are a plus!

great service. Fabulous range of food. A little hard to get a seat as it was busy, but made to feel welcome whilst we waited for a table. quick service once we got seated.

Staff were so lovely and accommodating. Really felt like we were catered for, both in the amazing meals we had and in the time the staff made for us. Will be back as often as possible.

I ate here with a friend for dinner on Friday night and had an excellent experience. The pizza was delicious but the service was even more impressive. My friend forgot her umbrella and the waiter ran down the street to bring it to us. I will definitely be back!

Enjoyed the Buffalo pizza and my Elderflower drink. Hospitable staff , helpful and friendly. Atmosphere was pleasant, pizza was tasteful. Lovely clean place, with tasty food! Highly recommend.

Went on a Saturday night and it was very busy, so our party of 4 had to sit at the bar just in front of the kitchen - what luck! These were the best seats in the house with a great view of the manic, but extremely organised, kitchen. It was fascinating to watch them and the chefs even chatted to us in detail about the ingredients and what they were up to - really interesting and so friendly! The pizza itself was very very good, especially if you like a doughy pizza. The dough itself was brilliant, crispy and chewy and soft. Interesting toppings and I highly recommend the peanut butter semi fredo for pudding! Thanks very much to the kitchen guys for making our visit so memorable!

I love Pizza East during the week. They have a special keyring that gets you half price and food and drinks from Monday to Thursday. During this time It is the best value for money I've encountered in Kentish town. Food is high quality, everything tastes good.

Had lunch here, fantastic lamb meatballs and a brilliant fresh pizza. All ingredients are fresh and the sauce they use on the pizza and meatballs is UNREAL. Would definitely recommend and as my colleague has a 50% off key ring its even better.

This is an amazing tasty restaurant, one of the best chewy (soft) pizza dough in whole London. Enough space for your children to move freely. It’s kids friendly restaurant. Highly recommended for delicious pizza.

One of my favourite pizzas in London (if not my favourite). Great ingredients and quality, rightly done in an authentic wood fire oven. I recommend the nduja pizza if you're into spicy food.

Never had pizza like this before. They definitely have an interesting dough recipe. Crust is a little more crispy than usual for a wood fired pizza. I’ve gone back several times. Good value for money, nice decor and friendly accommodating staff.

We ate an amazing roast here the other day. The food was delicious and really impressive. We had the kids with us and they had pizza and pasta which they loved too. There were high chairs and changing facilities and the staff were very kind and accommodating. I will definitely be back.

Great pizza selection including vegetarian and vegan pizza. Nice wine list as well as few cocktails. Staff is very friendly and service is fast. Great place for meeting friends or family as music is not too loud you can still have a conversation

Great food, really flavoursome and our order came very quickly. Great service, extremely friendly, attentive and helpful. I have heard many good things about Pizza East and it certainly didn't disappoint. I loved the rustic, clean feel of the place - this is how you run a restaurant!

Pizza places are far and many however pizza East still manages to deliver a solid fresh ingredient pizza at a fair price. To end with the apple pie from chicken shop is always a special treat too!

Decent pizza.. starters are very tasty. A bit on the pricey side for me for what it is, but pretty standard for London I think. Favourite is the anchovy pizza, and the calamari for starters (though they change these from time to time)

J

Gorgeous pizza. Sexy flavour if perhaps overloaded on buratta. Need to try the others. Downside was that we always had to wave someone over for service, whether to get drinks, the bill, etc. Would like to give 9/10

My girlfriend (pictured) and I eat a lot of pizza (and she manages a pizzeria) so our pizza palette is somewhat excelled. Pizza East combines great food, cooked quickly, with a relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff. The pizza is cooked in a wood fired oven and tastes exactly like it does in Naples, Italy. We had truffle fries with our meal but there are plenty of other awesome options - check the menu on their website

Used to live nearby. Spent a fortune here but everything from the decor to the pizza to the side dishes and cocktails never disappointed. Staff were always friendly.

Reminiscent of a rustic open kitchen, the Italian chain has opened its popular Shoreditch restaurant in Highgate Studios. With seating at tables of four or the long bar, the place is large enough to fill the rush of office workers at lunch. Pizzas are ten inches, and the Prosciutto cotto - with mozzarella and chili - was the right size to not need a side dish. The list of antipasti is long as well if you're after something else.

A

Good modern pizza place. Simple, thin crust pizza with great quality ingredients. The burrata is a perfect pizza crust dip! Ask them nicely for a keyring - out gives you 50% off on Tuesdays!

The roast is one of the most disappointing things I've ever eaten. It was cold and the veg was very sad. However, why would you order this when the pizzas are so good? The venue is good looking, the staff are fun and the pizza is the main focus. Don't make the same mistake I did and stick to the classics.

R

Plenty of flavour and nicely textured food, with a very decent pizza dough, good Camden Town Brewery beer, postindustrial location, great beats tuned and very nice and efficient service. Come along and enjoy! (ignore the fake plastic charcuterie items)

N
Neil Richards

The pizza here is excellent. If you go for Sunday lunch, the roasts are good also but very large (i.e. Three portions are easily enough for 5 people). Soft drinks are ridiculously expensive. £2.50 for a 200ml ginger ale, £3.50 for a canned oj. Seriously?

J

Very tasty pizza! Fresh ingredients - made to order in an open kitchen! Wood fired ovens are beautiful! Great to see! Tables a little too close together along the windows to the front of the restaurant. Super child friendly

This was our second time eating at pizza east and our first time visiting the Kentish Town branch. Food was tasty and the drinks were delicious. Staff were super friendly& energetic. Great ambience and atmosphere all round. Ample parking across the road. Prices were a bit steep but what you pay for is what you get.

Always nice staff. The pizza tastes good. Unfortunately the take away is getting sloppier and sloppier. Tonight’s was the worst ever. Given the reputation I always ask for ‘well done’. This one was so wet and uncooked in the middle it had amalgamated itself to the cardboard box. Raise your game please Pizza East. You ‘used’ to be the best. Those days are long gone.

It’s a great space with great atmosphere and service. My pizza was good and I really enjoyed the lamb meatballs but my wife’s chicken salad was bad - the chicken was drier than a saltine cracker and there was no dressing - and thought the cauliflower was a bit dry too.

In the relatively short time this branch had been open it seems to have become incredibly popular. We went early one Tuesday evening and before long there were people queuing for tables. Like the original Shoreditch branch, the pizzas have an interesting range of toppings and they are very good. Decor is trendy as you'd expect and of course the inevitable wooden platters. A pleasant place to eat, though they play the music very loud so maybe not ideal if you want an evening of conversation.

My first time to go to a branch of Pizza East. I had this image of it being a really cutting edge hipster pizza joint, and if I'm honest it was actually kind of reminiscent of Pizza Express. Still, I would probably go again as it is still regarding as "independent" enough to not have to feel embarrassed about going there, and whilst the pizza was by no means spectacular, it was competent. Oh and they were child friendly, which these days is a big plus point for me. I noticed they have a Negroni on the drinks menu - encouraging - but then noticed they use Martini Rosso for the vermouth. Another suggestion that this is effectively Pizza Express trying to be hip, and not quite hitting the mark.

Pizza was really good. Its a hip place has a good vibe. Negatives were to do with the service. The serving staff were rude. Didn't like being told as we sat down that we have our table until 8.30, which meant an hour an a half, the way she said it sounded really abrupt and rude, We ordered drinks, which took ages to come out, i ordered a cocktail. Then we ordered pizzas which took less than 4 minutes to come out and drinks arrived just before. Cocktails are best served before a meal not during. The bill was bought over with the paying machine and the server stood there whilst we checked the bill it was weird never experienced that pushy rudeness whilst paying the bill before.

Nice place however it was too noisy with youngsters around. A good crowd but the deserts were expensive! Even though the Tiramisu was one of the best I have had, it was a bit too pricy for a pizza place. For 3 people we paid £70, which in my experience is quite expensive. Would I go there again ? Yes I probably would because the Pizza was good and being a vegetarian there are good options. But I will be more vigilant when ordering and checking the prices. Friendly staff, accommodating and yummy pizza.

Service was generic. One girl was great and really smiley, she greeted everybody as they entered the restaurant and said bye to everyone too. Everyone else was pretty dull. The swordfish is bland and actually had a lot of tough connective tissue so it wasn't enjoyable at all. The rest of the food was fine, nothing spectacular. My favourite was the margherita pizza, but I've often had better. I'd say for the level of food, it's slightly overpriced. Same for the wine. Excellent ambience, it's a cool, moody space. It has a very rustic feel and with an open kitchen. It's well designed aesthetically, it just doesn't deliver in terms of service and food

L
Lec Lawrence

Ordered delivery. Pizza was decent, but small and twice the price of Franco Manca and not as nice, so just go there. Maybe the decor and service makes up for it if you eat in, though it would have to be pretty magical.

R
Rebecca Cossell

10:30 brunch on a Sunday. Not particularly busy but service was slow (waited 20 mins just for the drinks to arrive). Waiter returned to confirm our food order around 15 mins after we placed it, i..e they hadn't even started cooking it yet. When the food finally arrived, several things were missing (including one persons entire order) or were not what we'd ordered. Food was a mixed bag, avocado on toast great, bircher muesli awful (like cottage cheese). Bill still include items we'd not received. Despite the unimpressive service, the staff were lovely, hence 2 stars rather than one.

Just had to cancel my Birthday booking for tomorrow for 16 people, Pizza East have just phoned and insisted that we pre book the food today. What is the point of going to a restaurant when you first of all have to go through the stress of organizing food for 16 before hand. More to the point, how would I know what I fancy eating, or how hungry I will be tomorrow. Pizza East, if you can not knock up 16 pizzas then don't bother calling youself a restaurant

“Lentils and spinach“ If I left simply those words as a review, would you have any idea what I meant? No? Then why call a dish this, and then leave zero description. What is the point of the menu if I have to ask the waiter what every single dish under the “vegetables” (great name there too...) section is??? Is it a stew?? A salad?? A blended jumble of raw lentils and spinach chewed up by the nearest dog and projectiled in to my mouth??? I wouldn’t know. Neither would the menu. The need to make Kentish Town the new Shoreditch does not eliminate the need for a legible menu.

Went with friends to Pizza East for their 'Sunday Roast', which is served as a sharing platter for 2. We ordered a roast chicken and a roast beef. Poor, poor, poor. Roast beef was good but very ungenerous portion, but the chicken was dry. A small amount of greens - we had to ask for more, For the rest it was luke warm & past its serving-time. In among this dreary offering was a vegetable-cheese something that was so old it was like rubber. Surprising given that the other Soho House restaurants we go to regularly at Kentish Town (Dirty Burger & Chicken Shop) are best of breed. Perhaps the pizza at Pizza East is too, but their roasts really let the brand down. I wrote and told them so and was pleasantly surprised when the manager, Michael, called me back. He said that my experience was unusual and would I be his guest to try it again - he'd email me details. 2 weeks later not heard a word; adding 'insult to injury'!

The resturant is well decorated . Staff are poite and friendly . The pizza and fish we ordered were complete disappointment. My pizza had four pieces of olive and three small pieces of achieves and three small spots of cheese . If it wasn't because of my sons birgday I would have paid nothing and just walked out . The tomato souce on the pizza was runny and tasteless . I just came fro holiday in Sicily and you can see that they have no idea what is a pizza . The fish was served with lists of tomato and no tasted. I wonder if they ever taste the food they cook. They have the right oven but can't see that the pizza being so thin in the middle the tomato souce will make it mushy . There some pizzas you can buy from super markets that taste a lot better than what we have experienced last night. Pity the decor is great .

V
Vincent Proost

Very disappointed. Soggy heavy dough pizza base. Awful service. Food arrived first and drinks came halfway through the meal. We did complain but just got a weak “sorry”. Maybe changed owners as it used to be great?
