best indian food I have had their special mince and lamb or chicken curry with house special rice really took me away full of flavour with just enough spice deserve a mischellene for that dish. portion was perfect even though I ran out of rice whilst eating with the curry they still offered me a top which i humbly refused as I didnt need it. Rice is unbelieveable for the quality you are getting, supper tender soft lamb with flavour full curry sauce. the mango lassi was just right. and top notch custpmer service. on top of all that they do not include service charge in your final bill which cam be quite awkward someyimes to ask a restaruant to remove.
Great “Indian” food on Kennington Road although my suspicion is that it’s in fact run by Bangladeshis as the food is rich, less fatty and is fantastic. A Bangladeshi chicken Dansak can’t be beaten. Staff always great and attentive and food is delicious. One of the best two in London - the other being Palace Spice on Lavender Hill
Nice small place with beautiful athmosphere. Indian music was played quietly in the background. The menu had lots of different options and also offered vegetarian or even vegan dishes. The food tasted very good and was served hot. The portion were not too big. Service was quick and very friendly. I recommend a visit.
The best for a hearty meal! The coriander special starter was especially good as well as the noorjahani. Great service throughout, the staff were very attentive, and the dishes came out very quickly, we did not have to wait long. The atmosphere was nice and peaceful, with warm lighting and nicely plated cutlery and food. Edit: having now tried the Sunday buffet, can highly recommend it as well. £12-13 for all you can eat excellent fresh food
The food was absolutely amazing and everyone was nice. I had the butter chicken curry. Omg, it was absolutely perfect. Also had some Nan and rice. Would go here again if I lived in London. I spent about 23£. Service was immediate but I waited probably 30min for food. My phone camera does not do the food justice
We dropped in to order a takeaway, it was very early in the evening so nobody else was there so can't comment on the atmosphere. However the staff were lovely, very attentive, food came well prepared and quickly. We were pleased as ever with the quality of the meal and is a firm local favourite for our family!
Christmas Eve takeaway never disappoints! Super friendly staff on collection and food/ portions always unreal. Thank you & merry Christmas x
had dinner at The Coriander in Vauxhall last night, and it was such a great experience. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting—tasteful décor and a cosy vibe that made it perfect for a relaxed evening out. The food was outstanding. I started with their Hara Kebab, which was beautifully spiced and perfectly cooked. For my main, the Lamb Aam Diya absolutely stole the show—the mango and coconut sauce was rich and creamy without being too heavy. My friend ordered the Tandoori King Prawn Masala, and the prawns were fresh and full of flavour. Even the vegetarian dishes, like the Paneer Chilli Masala, were bursting with taste and clearly prepared with care. The portions were generous, and everything felt fairly priced for the quality. Service was friendly and attentive, adding to the overall positive experience. The restaurant did get busy later in the evening, but that only added to its lively, welcoming atmosphere. Overall, The Coriander delivered a fantastic meal and a lovely evening—I’d happily return and recommend it to anyone looking for great Indian food in Vauxhall.
We booked this restaurant for a surprise birthday party (there is a private dining room). The manager and his team were very hospitable and accommodating to our requests and made the day very special for the party. The food was delicious and served hot and the staff were attentive and generous with the portions. The price was more than reasonable and all the guests keep saying how amazing the restaurant was. Thank you so much to the whole team at The Coriander!
Popped in after a cricket match. They were very accommodating and found us a table in no time, giving us poppadoms and drinks while we waited. The food was from their special cricket match menu which was ideal. We just chose the main course and they did the rest - great starters and side dishes. Food was plentiful and I wish I'd asked for a doggy bag as I'm getting hungry just writing this. Highly recommended!
Delicious as always especially House Special chicken.... Fantastic customer service from gentleman who delivered, a small delay and he rang me to let me know .... Very much appreciated thank you Coriander team ...
Fancied a curry, friend recommended The Coriander. Easy to order, reasonably priced. Guy from the restaurant delivered it, so polite and food all still hot. It was to die for. Every dish was perfect, the onion bhajis were gorgeous. Good portion size. This will be my go to for a curry from now on. Thank you 🙏🏼
We just had the most delicious food with lovely service. We ordered in person for takeaway. It was quick but not too quick if that makes sense and the food was top notch. Very tasty, definitely recommend and next time we are in the area we will eating here again.
The best, most authentic Indian restaurant out of India! We will definitely come back.
Best Indian in Vauxhall. Friendly staff 🩷
Tourists here, excellent food and service. Very friendly. Food made to order fresh. Flavors were outstanding. They knew we were tourists and still provided a great experience.
Me and my best mates meet here once every two or so months and it is OUTSTANDING!! The service is quick (but they don’t rush you!) friendly and they’re always super helpful with their recommendations when you’re unsure what to order! If you’re looking for a really good meal in a great place served by great people, you can’t go wrong with this place!!
To be precise a 9 out 10. Edit: just had a meal and I have changed the rating from 4 to 5. Well done. I appreciate the fact that you guys use high quality king prawn many restaurants don't. Free papadoms and a mango kulfi shows the owner is a real boss. He or she wants to look after it's customers. Well done for the 5 star rating.
If you are looking for an exceptional Indian restaurant, The Coriander is it. The food is superb and of high quality. The Staff look after you and ensure your dining experience is faultless. Very professional and friendly at all times. Lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended, just for two or large parties catered for. Enjoy!
I had a really nice dinner with family here. We tried several different dishes, all of them were delicious, well cooked, in rich sauces, with lovely fresh naan. Loved the desserts, as well as the mango lassi. There was a calm atmosphere, the seating area was clean and tidy. All the staff members that we interacted with were really warm, welcoming and caring. Looking forward to return soon.
I been using this Restaurant for over 20 years. And all my family and friends. Excellent polite staff Absolutely clean place, The Food is totally outstanding. Good portions if you want to order something different they will bend over backwards to accommodate you. I rate this restaurant 100% If you haven’t been there before. I highly recommend you go and see for yourself. You want be disappointed.
Best Indian restaurant in Vauxhall.food was very testy and service was excellent. definitely back again.Highly recommended
One of the best Indian meals i've eaten in a very long time. Also reasonably priced food and drinks. Poppadoms and naan bread cooked to perfection. Absolutely perfectly spiced curry. My only criticism would be that the serving staff were a little bit too attentive. Not pushy, but just having a glass taken away the second you finish your drink is a bit over the top. And please, don't clear plates until everyone has finished eating.
I was in London for two nights on business, found The Coriander on-line and only ten minutes walk from my hotel. Most of the reviews were good so I thought I'd pay a visit. I was very pleased that I did, the food was outstanding and the staff very friendly. Price was good for what I had to eat, so I've no grumbles there either (I had a couple of pints too, hence the price). In fact I was so impressed that I went back the second night! Two nights, two completely different meals and all fantastic! I highly recommend The Coriander if you are in the area.
Delicious food - everything we ordered was faultless. Service couldn’t have been better, went out of their way constantly to make sure we were having a good experience. Lovely setting - glassware and plates were particularly nice. Previous take out meals have been good too.
We booked for a group of 13 and it was a brilliant meal. Great service and setting too. The chicken biriyani was delicious and the jalfrezi was amazing but just a bit too spicy for me!
If you want to taste authentic Indian🇮🇳 food , I would definitely recommend here. The onion bhajjis were really good. Herabhara kabab and samosa were not that good but ok. The chutneys given were good. The tandoori rotis were good. The subz kofta was good too. The delivery was on time with good packaging. The prices are moderate.
A great Bangladeshi/Indian spot in SW London! Perfect for a cozy, casual weekday dinner if you’re after something quick and delicious. My boyfriend and I were ravenous before our meal and felt more than satisfied with the portions and value. Highlights were the mushrooms and Rogan, though the chicken bits could have done with a bit more marinating. The sea bass was well cooked and served as a great accompaniment to our other dishes. Fantastic Pilau rice and garlic naan (as you’d expect). And finally, the server spoiled us with 4 choccie blocks upon leaving, which is the kind of service that always leaves a 10/5 in my books. All in all would recommend, and I’ll definitely be returning :-)
Enjoyed a nice dinner of Tikka Masala in this small unassuming restaurant on Kennington in the Lambeth, Vauxhall area, in early August. Several different staff served us and while they all seemed polite they were distant. I would return though, the meal was good as was the physical atmosphere, interestingly decorated.
Kleines Restaurant mit vielen vegetarischen und auch Vegan Option. Nice interior for a small restaurant; they have good food and the prices are reasonable . Would recommend !
Food was solid, five of us all thought it was fine without being exceptional. Waited an hour for food to get to table though, seemed like lots of take out orders on bikes ahead of us in the restaurant. Would try them again, but not if in rush.
Food was not too bad. Although we specifically ordered for more spicy kachila. Nevertheless less it was edible enough so we didn’t raise a concern. We also ordered chicken biryani. It didn’t look anything like chicken biryani where the chicken and rice is layered and toped with flavours. Instead it looked more like chicken Pulao. What was annoying was the arrogance of the person who took our order. He was very impolite. Felt a bit discriminated..he seemed very disinterested when he was asked to repeat the order. He poured the beer half way and just left. So didn’t feel it was up to the mark. The servers were kind and polite though.
We order from here every week. But recently the palak paneer has totally changed. It takes like just one dominating curry powder has been thrown onto it and it’s so spicy but not in a good way it used to have all different flavours. I don’t know what the spice is but it’s a strange mix of spicy but tasteless.
was in here last night and had a very bad experience. I specified i wanted my pander korai very hot but when it came it was almost without any spice at all. The portion size was also very small for the curry and the naan. When the waiter (bald guy) asked how the food was and I raised this, he didn't even try to sort it but smiled, said 'next time' and walked off. The food itself was poor, huge chunks of paneer, with barely any sauce and undercooked onion. We also felt rushed through the whole meal (it was near closing time) There wont be a next time as both the food and service were very poor.
Sorry to say, but had a bad experience. Ordered a starter and diff starter came, ordered a Biriyani and fried rice came. Please do not order Biriyani at this place. Either they do not understand what a Biriyani means or they do not know how to cook.
The worst place to have food and really irresponsible staff. The problem started when we tried to communicate our order to the server. He would not understand what we are ordering or what we need and he just said what he felt was right. The chicken was severely undercooked and when we told the staff they said that’s how it is supposed to be and carried on with their chores. The server won’t let us talk to the manager and the manager was only busy being in “business”. It was a terrible experience dining out and especially as students in UK when dining out is an occasional luxury. Would only recommend people to go at their own risk.
After an initial first time ordering a take away from these guys which was very good I decided to try them again and after this experience I will not be conducting repeat business . My food came cold after waiting for 2 hours , the delivery drivers competence was abysmal I had to guide him to my house on numerous occasions . I looked over my balcony and saw him walking in the rain with my food in a small plastic bag. Service and delivery terrible food cold and bland. I never write food reviews but I had to for this horrible occasion. Massive thumbs down from me.
They use Pataks and claiming it's home made Also, the business owner's nephew doesn't get along with the business owners.Brother in law it's not good family atmosphere. This affects the service we get as customers. For the food we're paying for it's not worth it
I was shocked by the rudeness of the staff during my visit. Specific incidents included when me and my sister came back after using toilet and were looking at the menu as the specific black dal which we were craving was not there so we simply got up and were leaving but right then two staff members from behind started .saying rubbish that "you guys are a joke you just came to use toilets and saying that you people are extreme joke". this was really rude and utmost nonsense basic sense of humanity and etiquette was lacking, it's a shame that being Indian restaurant yourself you guys are so mean towards Indians in London. A COMPLETE SHAME!!! This kind of behavior is unacceptable, especially in the hospitality industry. Dining out should be an enjoyable experience, but this visit left a bad taste in my mouth figuratively. I hope management takes immediate action to train their staff on basic respect and customer service.
Major Attitude problem. We were sat at a table by the entrance door and one of our friends asked to move because it was drafty and the waiter was clearly annoyed even though the restaurant was half empty and we didn’t literally touched anything that was on the table. We were trying to order starters to share and the waiter half answered our questions as if he was doing us a favour. We got zero help so one of the starters was too small for us to share. We asked for mixed sauces and they were annoyed that we did. When we asked for a few papadums we were told we had to pay for it which is fine but then we had to wait. At the end of our meal they couldn’t wait to get rid of us and took everything away and gave us the bill even though it was just past 10pm on a Saturday night. Food quality is very average, overpriced and the place is tunnelled and devoid of joy. Staff is rude. Good luck with all the competition around!
After 8 years of using this curry house my last curry was extremely poor, a small portion, the naan slightly burnt, not much of a taste to the sauce and devoid of any chilli (despite asking for more heat). Since the curry my complaint has basically been ignored. I'll be going elsewhere.
I was so annoyed at the people who served us and the other servers in the restraurant. Secondly, their portion sizes are too small and unecessarily pricey. Would've have been satisfied even if the food tasted nice, but nope. Didn't work out. But the most annoying were the servers. I just think unnecessarily they had attitude. The way they placed plates on our table, not giving us basic things like water without asking for it, not listening to us when we asked for tissues. Such atrocious behaviour. I'm not sure if it's because we are Indians, because the biasness was very evidently seen. If you're running an industry like this, even if there was no racism, learn to behave with your customers. Never visiting this dingy place ever again. You guys will get away with a sorry. But understand you need to do more than that.
