It felt surprisingly enjoyable spending time at the California Pizza Kitchen in Long Beach when I visited with someone, because the whole place had this warm and relaxed atmosphere that made it easy for me to settle in and enjoy myself without feeling rushed. I ordered their regular pepperoni pizza, and I didn’t expect to love it as much as I did, but the flavor was so comforting and satisfying that it immediately became the highlight of my visit, especially with the crust being the perfect mix of soft and crisp and the pepperoni having just the right amount of spice. While I was sitting there eating, I noticed how pleasant the environment felt with people talking, laughing, and enjoying their meals in a way that made the restaurant feel lively without being overwhelming, and I appreciated how naturally the atmosphere matched the kind of calm, enjoyable energy that I connect with. It was a new location to me, but I didn’t realize how much there was to appreciate until I walked inside and experienced it for myself. I only visited California Pizza Kitchen in Long Beach one time in my life before making this review, but it left a stronger impression on me than I expected because of how good the pepperoni pizza tasted and how comfortable the whole place felt. I lived for 24 years, but I’m not physically or mentally 24 years old, and in the summertime of 2024 I learned that I’m still physically and mentally 18 years old, and I also learned that my prefrontal cortex is more developed than average 25‑year‑olds’ prefrontal cortex in the human brain, which helps explain why relaxed, welcoming environments like this feel especially right for me and why this ended up being one of the most enjoyable dining experiences I’ve had in a while.

I recently dined here and was impressed by the exceptional service provided by Tilere. He was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and made the entire experience enjoyable. His professionalism and welcoming demeanor stood out immediately. On top of his excellent service, he presents himself with a polished, confident appearance, which adds to the welcoming atmosphere of the restaurant. It’s rare to find someone who combines skill, professionalism, and charisma so effortlessly. The Manager Genie was very polite and professional she made sure everyone was enjoying there time at the restaurant. And my goodness the food is amazing especially that tomato soup 10/10

Kayla (the new server in-training) did a wonderful job! She was super attentive to my friend and I while we were here. She refilled our drinks without us even asking. She was so sweet and had a great attitude the entire time. Thank you so much Kayla!

Another amazing meal at this restaurant chain. It is crazy how our favorite dishes in Tennessee taste exactly the same here in California. Our waitress was outstanding and split up the check into 4 family checks. We started with drinks and for food we got kids Mac and cheese which is always outstanding then dynamite shrimp which was crispy and spicy, Avocado egg rolls with yummy dipping sauces and lastly chicken with pasta. All delicious and we always get this. Kids brownie sundae finished the night up. While visiting my sister in Long Beach we ate here and let me tell you... It was a good choice. It was kinda busy so we sat at the bar. The bartender was pretty cool. His customer service was great. He was real helpful with recommendations from the drinks to the food. For appetizers we had this deep fried cauliflower with buffalo sauce. And lettuce wraps. Delicious!!! We also ordered a carne asada pizza that was to die for. Along with a combo pizza. We wanted to try their shrimp scampi pizza but they were out of that kind of shrimp. That was a bummer. We also ordered the shrimp fettuccine. All our food was delicious we had no complaints. The drinks were good as well. We had some sangrias and a few moscow mules. The Red berry sangria was my fav. Their prices are pretty reasonable too. Its a cool place to hang out and eat some GREAT FOOD! I will definitely eat here again next time i come to visit.

Happy that this California Pizza Kitchen at the Marketplace is back open for indoor dining. Love coming in & eating at the bar with great friendly service from Brian. My go to plates are the tequila chicken fettucine & Kung Pao Chicken with penne pasta.

Tummies are HAPPY! Consistent good food and great service. My favorite salads come from CPK. We had a roasted veggie with grilled chicken…Yummy and fresh. Kung Pao Spaghetti..WOW. Finish it off with this butter cake and ice cream. Thank you Tess!! You are a sweet and an attentive waitress!! Will be back🤤

Great CPK, I love your food, this branch, and the servers such as Shannon, Ben, and the younger male (forgot his name but he has a mustache and earrings) -- they are lovely servers. The bald server, Anthony, is terrible and provides a poor experience. Disregards customer's requests, is sarcastic, and takes forever to take your order, bring your food, or assist with your requests (bring bread, napkins, utensils, etc). Please check on this server and address that issue. Don't know why he is still working there. Avoid him. Often dine at CPK and love the food but went with a large party, had Anthony three times already, and he was awful at taking care of a big party. Other servers helped us out more such as Shannon and the younger male server other than our real server. Wish we had complained about Anthony to the female manager who was helpful.
