Stopped because we seriously couldn’t find anything other than seedy motels. Boy, we were surprised at the breakfast. Ordered a chorizo and egg plate that came with beans and potatoes. Hole mole! It was enough for 2 people. The beans were excellent or maybe it’s just because I haven’t eaten beans in a few weeks (low carb diet). The salsa bar had a few options. I chose the dark red one and loved it. Great heat but not too much. Very small dining area. Very little parking. Done in, take out and possibly phone in orders )not positive on phone orders). Regular menu included a variety of tacos, burritos and more. They cater too!
Went for fish tacos and I swear i can hear SpongeBob talking cus that fish was raw and the batter for the fish was thick it didn't even cook throughly .disappointed for my order to take long and [no it wasn't busy].just to get raw battered fish SMH.service was great as always just the food was really disappointing.
Gotta love Holy Mole for their brisket. It's incredible. Got the surf & turf again. The brisket wasn't quite as huge a portion as my recent visit to a different Holy Mole but the brisket here tasted even better.
Between this location and the Obispo location, this is definitely the better option. I feel like the Obispo location used to have a salamander and it broke, because for the past couple of years, their wet burritos and nachos all have a stale texture like they are microwaving them. Additionally, the Obispo location will start packing up their seating areas and closing down the salsa bar a full hour before closing, and it deters me from ordering. Tl;dr: PCH location is excellent, the food is always fresh, and the crispy items come out actually crispy (nachos, looking at you). Friendly staff, too! Will start coming exclusively to this location.
Very casual easy going vibe. Caters to local college students as well. Super quick service and friendly chefs!
This is the perfect example of a good and inexpensive taco place. These are the Rosarito brisket tacos, they are a Flour Tortilla, Melted Cheese, Whole Beans, Red Salsa, Guacamole, Onion, Cilantro, Served On a Bed of Chips with brisket on top for $5.95. 2 of them should leave you full. The burritos are also great. Parking in front. Seating inside. And the smoked salsa is delicious. 9.5/10 I would have given them a 10/10 if they had sugar-free drinks.
This place is a Gem if you can find a hole mole and you're a fan of fish tacos this is a must try. These are some of the best tacos around and extremely affordable especially in today's economy. Every time I've gone in the customer service is genuine and friendly not forced. I've been to three locations and each one has been outstanding. Wait times are reasonable food is excellent and service is top notch it's worth driving a ways to get this kind of quality. Your taste buds won't regret it.
Hole Mole is a decent beachy-tiki type space with outdoor seating, for an early (breakfast through lunch) meal, to me. I experience good customer service during my visit, a somewhat busy time. I order the Vegi Burrito which is very good. All non-Vegan ingredients are replaceable by Vegan ingredients like beans. I really enjoy my satisfyingly filling meal. I dine in with the burrito though think it may need more time on a grill/in a toaster oven to ensure it holds for anyone trying to save the burrito for later since the wrap is soft with juicy-mushy type ingredients. The sauce is more of a flavorful spicy than a hot-tingly spicy.
Really great place to go for a quick bite at a good price. I paid under $10 for my drink and 4 small (but not too small) tacos. I was suggested to have the chicken tacos by the cashier. She made a great suggestion! To-go packaging was sturdy and it only took about 8-10 mins for my order to be complete. They had indoors and patio space available. On the patio they do have heaters available for when it gets cold. Utensils were in the bag and they asked if you want green or red sauce when you order so you won't forget! The cashier was so sweet! Will be back when I go to medical appointments down that way. They have potato tacos for vegetarians too! Only suggestion I have is if you want more than one salsa, ask for it!
So let me start by saying I despise fish and I never tried this place solely because of the name, however I finally gave in and tried it this morning cause the hubby had it last night and let me tell you...this place is amazing!! Ot doesn't smell like fish at all and they have a ton of non fishy items too!! Including amazing breakfast burritos!!! This guy was top notch today for me and I'm incredibly picky when it comes to my burritos and this guy blew me and my 12 yr old away this morning, it's all made fresh and you can definitely tell by the taste!!! Will have to try their tacos next!!!
The burrito taste really good. But kind of sloppy. We came in at 8:30, the restaurant looks slow in this hour. We got our 2 burritos, but… one is breaking apart, another one just have a random slice of avocado in the package.
1st time here. The space is small, quaint, and welcoming. We had the tacos, I had the bettered fish and shrimp Ensenada style and hubby had the smoked brisket, al pastor, and Carne asada, all were huge portions and tasted great. The service was fast, the girl that took our order recommend another taco place near where we lived. We're going back for the taco Tuesday deals for sure.
came on a lunch break, it was solid i got 2 fish and 2 shrimp tacos batter was nice and crisp on the fish tacos, shrimp nice an juicy with some decent flavor(not fishy). lady at front was cool with suggestions. peppers were decent thought they were battered, but still some nice heat and horchata was good as well.
The tacos were pretty good except they need a little more creama. You can buy more creama or they could have put a fair amount on the taco in the first place.
I went here with high hopes and a recommendation. HOWEVER… was warned to not go to this location due to COLD RICE and BEANS /old. Well my buddy was right. I hope the owners see this and fixes the issue. Also the brisket was okay maybe needs some more seasoning. Service was not great and on the wrong side of rude. Small spot with not much seating. Parking was horrendous but nothing this business did wrong. Overall give this place a 6.2 out of 10. Great price average to poor quality food. Good portion though
I usually go to the other Hole Mole location, went to this one by accident. It feels dirty and both women who work at this location are on personal calls simultaneously. Wth is going on? I’d NEVER be on a personal call at work unless it was urgent. One of them had her phone on loud speaker phone just adding to the lack of professionalism. The inattentiveness of the employees here and the dirty feeling makes this location feel raggedy. The food is still good but this location makes me feel dirty.
My First impression walking up to the door was that this business has been here for a decade or more and not maintained. Once inside that feeling is repeated. At first it wasn't clear if it was purposely set up to be dilapitated or was just neglected. After placing a small togo order we almost sat at a table to wait. But the tables looked very old and felt dirty. Looking around there is a rusted metal wall and features that look like broken shelves and fixtures. I think these things were on purpose. But I could quickly see the the front door was dirty with hand smuges. Very dirty. There was a glass front beverage cooler that was equally dirty. Fithy floor, walls, excetra. The cashier didn't seem to care if we were there. She said it would be just a second. She walked away and someone else took our order. The food was almost average. Watery beans with little flavor. I got the baja shrimp burittto. The couple of shrimp in the burrito were good. But most of it just tasted like a bland rice and bean burrito. If it seemed cleaner I would try another dish. But this isn't the case.
I am so mad right now. After the last couple times I ordered a quesadilla here and there being hardly any cheese, I addressed it a the counter when I ordered today. I explained that the last few times I ordered a quesadilla there was significantly less cheese on it, and could they make sure to add cheese. I even paid AN ADDITIONAL $2 for extra cheese to make sure I got an actually decent amount of cheese on my quesadilla. This ended up being a $10 quesadilla!!! I knew I should have checked before I left because when I got home the quesadilla had even less cheese than it has the last few times before I paid an extra two dollars for it, and it was hardly even melted. This passive aggressive poor service is such a big middle finger to your customers. LOOK AT THIS. TEN DOLLARS FOR THIS. Never returning to this Hole Mole ever again.
I usually dont give bad reviews unless they're warranted. For gen Z; this place was mid. The cashier with tattoos on her right arm was rude. She seemed annoyed when I asked about the menu. (My first time here) The cashier didn't let me order one bean taco and one potatoes taco she said I had to order two separate orders. She didn't let me order the surf and turf combo plate. They were out of brisket and several other items on the menu. I ended up going with a shrimp burrito. The shrimp wasn't seasoned at all, beans too salty, and felt like they had been sitting all day and dried up. The tortilla felt super old and flaky. I ate in the outdoor patio area, and it smelled so bad. Their trash is overflowing, and it smelled terrible. I do not recommend this place. Bad service. The food is mediocre. UPDATE: This place gave me stomach issues worse than Chipotle and Taco Bell combined.
