Overall a highly enjoyable meal, space, and staff! Everything was cooked to perfection, the chicken tender, the meatballs bouncy and juicy, pasta al dente, and seafood tender. You could tell they perfected their cooking times and along with gorgeous plating. The staff were so attentive always refilling my water, making me and my friend non alcoholic cocktails since we don’t drink. My friend and I sat at the bar and the camaraderie and engagement the chefs had made the whole experience fun and engaging! 2 highlight dishes were the focaccia with anchovy dip and the chili oil peach. The focaccia was soft, airy, and had a beautiful, delicate, moist, tender crumb, with a crisp outer shell topped with flakey salt and thyme. It paired so well with the anchovy dip which reminded me of a rich umami ocean bomb much like an uni cream sauce. The peach dish stood out for its harmonious flavors of sweet, tart, creamy, salty, and herbaceousness, with a tiny kick of spice. Along with textural party of crunchy nuts, smooth burrata, and soft peaches. It made a combination of flavors that beautifully dance together! Not too loud, cool room temp, perfect for a date night. Parking is busy but ample, Signage difficult to find, use Google maps to guide you!

Flavors were intense and unique in the best way possible. Did not have one bad bite. I respect the hell outta a place that takes vegetables seriously and showcase them seriously. Cocktails were tasty and seems to have a decent bit of booze. Restaurant is in a very unassuming location.

Calling all foodies seeking unique twists on amazing Italian inspired food! This awesome Long Beach restaurant offers incredible eats and drinks at reasonable prices. We practically devoured every dish on the menu, and everything was fantastic. My personal favorite was the spinach rotolo. Forget lasagna! This features fresh pasta layered with ricotta cheese and a one-of-a-kind sauce, topped with toasted nuts for an unforgettable richness. The pasta is to die for truly! They also have crave-worthy classics like meatballs and “mom’s carrots”, perfect for sharing. If you're feeling adventurous, try the pork belly with their creative take on pork and beans, or the old fashioned inspired cocktail with a unique plum puree twist. This place is special – don't miss your chance to experience it in case the menu changes! Chef Jonathan Benvenuti is nothing short of amazing!

So happy we found this place - definitely adding it to our go-to list. The service is top-notch. You feel welcomed and valued when you dine here. The ambiance is classy and simple - enough to feel like you’re dining in an elegant establishment, but not too much to feel like you can’t wear jeans. Now, the food. Where do I begin? The executive chef and sous chef, Jonathan and Zachary, are so friendly and have created beautiful dishes. Before I explain the food, I need to say that this restaurant’s creation is in honor of Jonathan’s mom. There is a dish you can try as an appetizer, “mom’s carrots”, that she used to make for him. The simplicity (yet complexity) of this dish is beautiful. I tried the squid ink fettuccine pasta, and my husband the hanger steak. Both were excellent, and had us wishing we could lick our plates in the restaurant without looking like fools. Portions are a healthy size - not too much but just the right amount. The desserts are both so decadent and not too sweet. The olive oil cake has Italian shaved ice on it (first time trying, very delicious) and the chocolate budino is so beautifully crafted with the meringue. I HIGHLY recommend you come here. You will not regret it, and I’m sure you’ll add it to your list of go-tos like we did. I’m actually worried we won’t be able to get a table here pretty soon!

My girlfriend and I celebrated her mom's birthday here and left completely satisfied, thanks to the delicious food, generous service, and lovely ambiance. We notified the restaurant in advance about the birthday celebration and our interest in the tasting menu. Upon arrival, the chefs and staff were immediately attentive to our needs—whether it was refilling water or replacing utensils. Chef Jonathan impressed us with his exceptional tasting menu, while Chef Nathan stood out for his skillful grilling, including a flavorful duck breast that was a highlight of the evening. Overall, the experience was fantastic, and we can’t wait to return to explore their regular menu!

We dined here last night for Dine LA and had a fantastic experience. It was our first time visiting this restaurant, and it did not disappoint. My boyfriend and I both ordered from the Dine LA Three-Course Prix-Fixe Menu, while our friends ordered from the regular menu. Here’s what we tried: • Crispy Eggplant – Lightly fried yet packed with flavor. The raisin-caper butter, pine nuts, and pickled peppers added a great balance. I really enjoyed this appetizer. • Mediterranean Octopus – One of the best octopus dishes I’ve ever had! Perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. • Endive & Chicory Salad – The light dressing complemented the greens beautifully. • Beets & Goat Cheese – A perfect balance of flavors—light, refreshing, and delicious. • Wagyu Short Rib – Rich, tender, and full of flavor. An excellent choice. • Aleppo Pepper Cavatelli – Slightly spicy, though mild for those accustomed to heat. As a spice lover, I didn’t find it remotely spicy, but it was still delicious. • Alfredo Shrimp w/ Garlic Breadcrumbs – Light and satisfying. All their pasta dishes are served in a tapas-style portion, so you won’t leave feeling overly full. • Vodka Pasta – A simple yet flavorful dish that really delivers. • Olive Oil Cake – Unfortunately, this was dry and not to my taste. I prefer a more moist cake. • Chocolate Budino – Absolutely delicious! This was a favorite. A note on portions: This is not your typical Italian restaurant with large servings. I personally love this approach since I don’t eat pasta often and prefer not to feel overwhelmed by heavy portions. We’ll definitely be back to try more dishes. Overall, a satisfying experience, and I highly recommend visiting if you’re in the area!

WORTH the HYPE!!! So delicious!!! We followed chef Johnathan from Hell’s Kitchen, and we were not disappointed. Everything we had was so incredible. Great vibe, great service. We will be back!! Honorable mentions: steak dish, focaccia, Caesar salad, hamachi crudo, eggplant, chicken & “dumplings” pasta, delicatta agnolotti, & ricotta donuts. Only thing we didn’t absolutely unanimously agree on was the maple carrots, since they were sweet.

Wow!! Bar Becky knocks it out of the park!! The staff is genuinely sweet and caring. The food is unbelievable, and they are always bringing new dishes to the menu!! We go quite often and are always happy to try new things! I LOVE how they have different options for guests, meaning that they have a great encompassing menu every night, they also offer a 3 course prix fixe at an excellent price, which has different pastas than the regular menu, and Friday and Saturday night they offer a 7 course Chef’s Counter Tasting Menu with all new and completely different dishes, straight from whatever is in season and Chef’s imagination!!🙂 The chefs are interactive and fun! They also have brunch on Saturday and Sunday! The wine list is thoughtful and have some really great selections at a low price point, and the cocktails are world class!!!

If you haven’t tried Bar Becky yet, you really have to! Their food, service, and cocktails are, in my opinion, Michelin level! We tried the pepperoni Brussels sprouts, and chef Benvenuti‘s mom’s famous carrots for our appetizers. For our entrees, we had the gnocchi and the duck which were insane! Everything tasted incredible; Such deep and complex flavors. If you’re a foodie, definitely make this your new spot. We finished dinner off with chai donuts that were like mini churro donuts. So good

Food was delicious! Focaccia with anchovy dip was my fave although the carrots were a close second! We were walk ins and it almost seemed like they wouldn’t be able to seat us so probably best to make a res on the weekend. Other than that the service was on point and the open kitchen was nice to see the masters at work with such a confident demeanor! Highly recommend!

Oh my god, I had the most incredible experience here! I’ve been wanting to eat at Bar Becky ever since I had the pleasure of watching Jonathan compete on Hell’s Kitchen. My boyfriend and I came here for our 5th anniversary, and I will have to say that this is my new favorite restaurant. We started off with the focaccia, Brussels sprouts, and pork belly. All three were amazing, and I was left with wanting more. (5/5) For the main course, my boyfriend had Pat’s Bolognese and I ordered the Mushroom Norcina. Both were extremely flavorful, and loved how the wonderful staff described to us how it was made! (5/5) I got the Panna Cotta for desert, which I also really liked. Not too sweet, which is perfect for me! (5/5) Of course, the cocktails were delicious as well! We got the Catalina Wine Mixer, Sesame Mario, and Thelonious Monk (5/5). Thank you so much to the amazing chefs and staff for making this such a wonderful evening! We will definitely be back.

I had a fantastic brunch experience at Bar Becky. The restaurant has an upscale atmosphere with great music and a really nice ambiance. Every dish we ordered was amazing. The biscuits were perfect, the Tiramisu Ricotta Doughnuts were a unique and delicious treat, and the Chicken Fried Steak was one of the best I've ever had. The food was not only incredible but also thoughtfully presented. Highly recommend!

Fantastic ingredients, reasonable portions, and fresh preparations make for a range of delectable dishes. The three course menu makes for an excellent sampling of appetizer, entre, and dessert for $40, though my one complaint is that all entres offered lacked any significant protein. It does appear the menu is updated semi regularly, so maybe this is isolated to the one I happened upon. The crispy eggplant was by far the stand out dish - I each piece was cooked to perfection with a crispy exterior and a delicate interior, with no hint of mushiness that can plague overcooked eggplants. The sauce, pickled peppers, and pine nuts all worked together to add complementary flavors & textures. Absolutely 10/10. The mushroom pasta (whose name I can't remember nor find online) was decent, but outside of a couple large chunks lacked a particularly strong mushroom presence. It may have also been my poor choice of pairing, but it did not work well with White wine, going particularly bland on the tongue after taking a sip of wine and only returning to it's normal, mild flavor after a few bites when the fats/oils in the sauce have a chance to recoat the tongue. That being said, I found myself feeling there was something lacking from the dish, though I'm not sure what. Perhaps a bit more salt or even some garlic? Despite this, it was still a solid dish overall: 7/10 Lastly, the bread pudding: a combination of the smoothest, creamiest peanut butter mousse sprinkled with frozen raspberries and a syrupy raspberry sauce produced an accompanying flavor profile that worked delightfully with the fresh, warm bread pudding slice. My only nitpick is that, while presented beautifully, the deconstructed setup made it challenging to get a bit of each flavor on every bite. Still, easily an 8.5/10.

Great food and flavors have arrived! Amazing sauces, beautiful presentation, and great service. Some of the pastas are made in house, delicate, and well butchered pieces of meat. The chicken Parm was crispy and cooked perfectly. The cavatelli and the cream seafood sauce was amazing.

Bar Becky (named after Chef Jonathan's mother, RIP) - has only been open a month and looks to be the new and promising new spot at LBX. We stumbled upon this new establishment by accident walking by and thought we'd give it a try since it was something new. The Hell's Kitchen sign also caught my attention LOL. To be frank, we were on our way to 908 but their menu hasn't changed in two years and I've already been there enough to be familiar with their menu. So either you're the type of person that likes to eat the same thing or you're like me, you like variety in life. We sat at the bar because that's where you get to see all the action and get all the "tea" from the bartender (wink). We ordered two of their most popular drinks that did not disappoint. Cocktails were strong - check Wine list was decent - check Octopus was delicious - check Branzino served filet style - check Squid Ink Linguine was delicious but it was cold when the dish arrived and I honestly wished the portion was just a tad bigger since these dishes are meant to be shared. They also gave us a desert on the house that was quite decadent. I'm not much of a sweets or dessert person but it wasn't too sweet. Overall, solid 4 stars. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner and experience. Meeting and getting to know the staff, who are amazing: Kenny aka Bartender and Anthony aka Chef Jonathan's brother, Chef Jonathan as well as his sister who happened to sit next to us really made the experience feel like we were at a friend's house. I'm so glad this isn't the type of place that has a TV hanging over the bar yet it also didn't feel stuffy. Given that they are only a month in, I think there's a strong potential for this to become a Long Beach favorite with some improvements. My only feedback is that the service was a bit slower and the food was a bit on the colder side. I definitely plan to return with all my friends. The Chef also mentioned that the menu would be changed from time to time, which is something I appreciate and look forward to. NOTE - only open Wed to Sun for dinner currently

Great food and drinks. Highly recommend the beet salad and scallops. The atmosphere, however, leaves a bit to be desired. For the price point and style of cuisine, it would have been nice to see warmer lighting and more intimate seating.
