Was hyped about trying this place after seeing it on social media. Food is great but the young lady with the hair pieces on her face was not friendly at all. No smile and very rude. I asked to have onions on the side and very short with her answer stated “we don’t do that”
he service and food here are both excellent. The chile relleno with chicken was full of flavor, and the asada burrito is definitely a standout. Their handmade flour tortillas really make a difference—soft, fresh, and perfectly wrapped around generous fillings. The restaurant has its own parking lot and plenty of indoor seating, which is convenient. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but the quality easily justifies it, even with a short wait. I didn’t realize this spot was TikTok famous, but after eating here, it’s easy to see why.
Be ready to fight to the death for parking. This place is packed, like other reviewers have indicated. A line as soon as I went in, but it was moving pretty quickly. Staff was friendly. I had my heart and mind set on the chile relleno burrito. You can watch them make the tortillas. I went with that, and without meat, which may have been a mistake on my part. They were very quick! I took it to go, since it was pretty busy inside. The flour tortilla was made fresh, so that definitely added to the burrito, and the chile relleno was so good. I'm sort of glad I didn't get meat so I got more of the chile relleno. And the price point didn't really sink my wallet too much. I wish I could come back and try it with meat. If you like a burrito, come here and try the chile relleno burrito.
First and foremost The Taste is not compare, if you're going to complain about prices then go where your dollar takes you. At the same time it is also known for its ORIGINAL HOME TASTE, the STRONG community RELATIONS. The person ordering addresses what they want. No one the can read your minds. LA AZTECA IS THE BEST. If you like QUALITY AND TASTE "priceless"
Hands down the best burritos in LA County. The handmade tortillas make all the difference — warm, soft, and full of flavor. The chile relleno burrito is unbeatable. The place is always busy but totally worth the wait. Authentic and absolutely delicious
Best breakfast burritos Update: still amazing burritos. I'm glad they are opening a new location. I didn't add cheese this time (watching my weight) and I still love it. Aqua fresca are good too. Pro tip: I would try to order ahead, wait times can go past 30 minutes. There's a nice coffee shop around the block.
That chile relleno burrito was straight comfort food done right. The batter was light but still had that perfect crunch, the cheese pull was insane, and everything inside was warm, savory, and fillin…
After craving a La Azteca burrito for months, I finally got one again after close to a year! This was my first visit to their new (and only) location. \n\nPros: \nLa Azteca burrito still hit the …
We heard the burritos were Michelin star status so we had to go. The servers were very welcoming and the ambiance is family-friendly.
We had the chile relleno burrito, it was very good, the hand made flour tortilla was delicious. The cafe de olla was tasty (not too sweet) the way I like it, it was also hot which is rare to get a …
Friendly people. Probably top 5 best burritos I've had in my life AND the cafe de olla. That's saying a lot!
The steak breakfast burrito is phenomenal -- fav breakfast burrito in La. Clean atmosphere, customer service focused staff
Came here for the best chile relleno breakfast burritos, but returned for their cafe de olla coffee - man it's so good! Fast service, friendly workers. Clean restaurant , table seating. Good stuff,…
The chile relleno burrito is delicious. However, they have sold me spoiled red salsa twice. They need to do a better job of disposing old salsa.
I've eaten many chili relleno burritos from here since they first opened, both with asada and carnitas. I prefer their chili relleno with asada. The tortillas are excellent. Their salsas are okay. The burritos can be a bit greasy, esply with carnitas. But they're always delicious anyway. (4.5)
La Azteca is still one of our favorite burrito places. They moved from their original location. Love their tortilla!!! It reminds me of Taiwanese breakfast egg wrap (dan bing). They also sell their tortillas here. I'm a big fan of their nopales (cactus) and egg burrito. They are popular for the burritos....cleaner or fresher and simple ingredients? NOPALE'S & EGG Burrito $10. cactus.grilled.tomato.onion.cilantro,refried beans - they can make it without eggs (make it vegan). Or my favorite is only without beans due dietary issues with it. Not a problem for them. The SO loves their Asada Burrito. He said Chorizo is okay and felt like baby food in texture. Red and Green sauce. Both are super spicy. Medium spicy lovers will like it. Mild spicy will have to up our game or use your own home sauce. We loved their previous location at Cesar Chavez due to walkable convenience. It was also around the street of bakeries, and nice stroll around the block. Both their old and new location has difficult parking. This new location at least has a parking lot for them, and more indoor seating.
Solid breakfast burritos, but the real star is their handmade tortilla. The burritos were enjoyable, with a good balance of ingredients. As for the bean and cheese burrito, it was tasty, but surprisingly, the cheese-to-bean ratio was a bit much. Still, the quality of the tortilla alone makes it worth a visit.
small, hole in the wall restaurant, but packed! which means it's probably epic. The the service was pretty fast, despite it being very busy. Wouldn't go so far as to say the best burrito in LA, but they have the best tortilla wrap I've had in a long time. The carne asada was okay, though. Wasn't what I was expecting, it lacked some seasoning. I got it without beans. I would definitely come back though and try the other items on the menu.

$1 cc fee on a $10-12 burrito is wild. \n\ni'm sure people will forgo any tip after being gouged by the fee..... indirect way of stealing tips.
I tried La Azteca again and this time got the regular chile relleno burrito without carne asada. I enjoyed it more than the overkill one which included meat. The location has changed to Atlantic Bo…
Tried this LA institution for the first time. Had to order their legendary chile relleno burrito with choice of meat carnitas. The burrito is great but what stands out is the cheese. So gooey and d…
This place is roomy and has a good amount of different food options and drinks. I got a breakfast burrito and it was good. I wasn't the biggest fan of the texture of the asada. Next time I go I do …

Fast service even during lunch rush. Tasty food , their chile relleno burrito could have a little more cheese and was a bit expensive when you add meat. The burrito came out to $17 and change. That…
Completely underwhelmed. The parking lot was packed and so was inside. It took a while to get my burrito I almost asked if they forgot about me. $15 for a chile relleno burrito is insane, and I didn’t even eat it because instead of the traditional sauce there was chunks of tomato in it.
Lived in the area for 3 years didn’t know this place was tik tok famous. Finally tried it today 12/14/25 7:10am. Had the chicharon burrito. Paid for an extra sauce so I could try the green and red sauce. Both sauces are great. $4 for mediocre lemonade is criminal. The burrito was wrapped all sloppy and by the time I got home it was room temperature. Definitely will try out again. The asada burrito. Maybe it was too early. Even tho it was 7 am it was busy but I just didn’t understand the hype.
Hmm. So 7 years later and same basic review. Just ok. Not worth the drive or parking. Love love love that they have a chile relleno burrito with choice of meat, but just wasn’t worth the extra effort. Asada was kinda plain and lacked the flavor we have gotten used to in LA. Chicharron was decent, but hand made tortilla was highlight. So many mom and pop caneceria’s with as good or better. Just can be so much better if they wanted to, but then again, maybe that’s what regulars want. To each their own.
This is a perfect example of a decent place - b ing hyped by IG to bring down your expectations. I sa this on a thread - Best Burritos in LA - now I'm like by whom - so there's a Michelin tag inside, not sure if it was Michelin rated or what, but I'll say this place is a very good tasting home cook meal type food. If you're a good enough cook, you can make the stuff we order at home. Even down to the chille relleno. The place is ok, the prices are fair, and I would recommend this place over a chipotle for sure, but they're not the best burritos in town, many more places that there burritos just burst with more flavor.
I have no clue how this place was voted best burrito in Los Angeles. First, it's served waay too hot. Its inside is made of molten hot magma. Second, it's basic. There is nothing special about this p…

The coffee is super nasty and the girls who work there are super rude tbh ! The best guy who worked there was bryan avila , he got smart and quit. \nThere salsa tastes disgusting like faucet water…
Honestly, the food is great, but unacceptable front-of-house service. I’ve been to the original location many times and never had an issue, but this new location is a completely different experience. The front-of-house staff is consistently unwelcoming, abrupt, and speaks to customers with an attitude. There is no greeting; it immediately feels like “what do you want” energy. Even when there is a 45–50 minute wait, instead of acknowledging customers, they cut straight to telling people to move aside- no warm welcoming, just "wanna order, if not move aside." I’ve given this location multiple chances and waited to write this after seven visits (three phone orders and four in-person dine-in), but the issues are consistent. I understand being backed up with phone and in-person orders; that is not the problem. The problem is how customers are treated. Orders have been messed up more than once. I’ve been hung up on while ordering by phone before I could even finish, and other times I had to call back just to ask when to pick up my order because no timeframe was given the first time, only to arrive and find out my order was never given to the kitchen. After waiting 45 minutes, even when calling an hour ahead, I finally received my order. I also overheard front-of-house staff speaking negatively about customers in Spanish, as if no one around could understand- 'cmon now we live in the barrio dude. That is unprofessional. This is a workplace, not a hangout. To be fair, there is one gentleman who is kind, humble, and professional, but the two main women working the front of house consistently ruin the experience. The food is good, but the front-of-house experience overshadows it. Do better. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning to this location.
⭐ Disappointed After Multiple Visits I really wanted to love this place, but after several tries, it just hasn’t delivered. ❌ Food Quality The chile relleno burrito—often advertised as one of the “best in Los Angeles”—has consistently fallen short for me. The flavor and quality simply don’t match the hype. ❌ Inconsistent Hours They list their hours as Tuesday–Saturday, 5:00–8:00 pm, yet today is Thursday at 4:14 pm and they’re completely closed. This isn’t the first time their posted hours haven’t been accurate, which makes planning a visit frustrating. ❌ Extra Charges That Make No Sense I ordered three chile relleno burritos, and each one includes salsa. However, they still charged me for the third salsa, which is confusing and honestly feels unfair. ❌ No Restrooms Available There are no restrooms, so if you plan to eat here, be prepared to either eat without washing your hands or walk to a nearby restaurant just to use their restroom—which I’ve actually done, and ended up giving them my business instead.
Ate here two weeks ago and the food was great. Came back today and service was just service. They took the order without question, didn’t even ask what kind of meat we wanted. Paid the same price as last time and got a burrito with no meat and the tortilla still doughy. For a place having a Michelin star and being a Mexican spot, you would think they know how to properly cook a tortilla every single time. Disappointed!
