Food was amazing and drinks were unique and fun. Service was a little chaotic/rude bar staff, but understandable for a Friday night
Terrific place. We go there often. Good food at reasonable prices. Wide beer selection. Good cocktails. Chill vibes. Great outdoor option
4.5 stars The Alibi Room is the ultimate hangout spot, especially when you're reunited with old elementary school friends and teachers (yes, you read that right—grade school reunions are a thing). The service was friendly and on point, despite our large group. Parking is classic LA—street parking, so be prepared to circle the block for 5-10 minutes. But once you're inside, it’s all good vibes. The drinks were spot-on: I had the Watermelon Margarita and the Gold Rush, both deliciously refreshing. And let’s not forget the Kogi tacos—I always go for the short rib beef and spicy pork. They never disappoint. With bar seating, cozy couches, and outdoor tables, The Alibi Room is a fun, chill spot for drinks, tacos, and a good time with friends.
Waka Waka, What a Burrito! Stepping into The Alabi Room in LA feels like being teleported into an 80s arcade, minus the sticky joysticks and quarters clinking in your pocket. The retro vibe is strong, but nothing prepared me for their Pac-Man burrito, a culinary masterpiece that even Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde would chase after. As I unwrapped the burrito, it looked like it could chomp through any maze. This thing was massive—so hefty that it could double as a free weight. Taking my first bite, I immediately understood why Pac-Man was always munching away. The flavors hit me like a power pellet: spicy, savory, and with a cheesy finish that made my taste buds do a victory lap. Inside, it was packed with a colorful array of ingredients that seemed to pop out like bonus fruits in the game: tender chicken, zesty salsa, creamy guac, and enough beans to fuel a marathon of Pac-Man marathons. Every bite was a new level of flavor, with spicy jalapeños ghosting through the mix and crunchy lettuce adding a satisfying crunch. Halfway through, I had to take a break. I felt like Pac-Man after clearing a maze, needing to catch my breath before diving back in. The burrito was relentless, and I started to wonder if I'd end up with a food coma that rivaled a Pac-Man game over screen. By the time I reached the end, I felt like a champion. The Pac-Man burrito had been a formidable opponent, but I came out victorious (though a bit more stuffed than I'd anticipated). If you find yourself at The Alabi Room, gear up and bring your appetite. The Pac-Man burrito is not just a meal—it's an adventure. Just be warned: it might have you seeing pellets and ghosts by the time you're done! Amazing 😻
This was my first time here, two of my friends and I came here because they were raving about the tacos and it was rightfully so.The food and drinks were sooo good. I had the tacos, chicken, pork, and short rib. The short rib and pork were my favorites. We also shared the spicy fries were great with the sauce they come with. To drink I had the watermelon margarita and it was delicious. The ambiance was nice inside and out, it’s a little dark in the inside but it was nice. I definitely recommend this place.
Chef Roy Choi has done it again. He has created an incredible restaurant that serves some of the best Korean-Mexican food you’ll ever have. Pro-tip: come here instead of going to one of his food trucks. The reason is, this place serves the EXACT same items as the food trucks (plus more) with no wait! Food trucks easily take 45 minutes to an hour, but you can be seated and eating here in 15 minutes! I’m so glad my friend showed me this place otherwise I would’ve missed out on an incredible experience. We both each got a chicken bowl. This bowl has jasmine rice and a fried egg as well as some sweet, spicy, and tangy Asian sauces. It was so good and fresh, and the rice was a little crispy which gives it such a good texture. We also got their pork quesadilla. This is the best quesadilla I’ve ever had hands down. The cheese was fresh and not packaged. It was so creamy and chewy, and paired with the perfectly marinated and cooked pork as well as the super crispy tortilla, it was incredible. They even put a tangy green sauce all over the top that adds a little zing. We last had to get their French fries. Potentially best fries ever. I haven’t had fries as crispy as these. The crispness as well as the Asian inspired seasoning was unforgettable. They even give a ketchup/sriracha sauce to go with it. Overall, super easy 5/5 to give. This blew my mind away! Come here if you have the opportunity.
This is place is eclectic. It’s dog friendly and tables are actually appropriate distanced. The drinks are strong and efficient while tasty and creative. The food is bomb; was not expecting such good flavor from the quesadilla I ordered. The burrito my friend ordered is a good size too. Definitely coming back again.
Without a doubt one of the coolest places I've ever been. The scene and mood is fantastic, employees are friendly andhelpful, the service is phenomenal, and the food and cocktails are to die for. My only regret is that I'm not able to visit more times to try everything on the menu.
Been coming here for several years and I love this place! I come firstly for the tacos. And then for the drinks and atmosphere. It’s so fun to sit around the triangular shaped bar area too, adds a unique feel to the space. Get famous Roy Choy Kogi tacos here. No need to wait in a food truck like for hours. You can’t call an order to go over the phone, but you can arrive and take food to go. They had an issue years back with people ordering food and never picking it up. They also serve some of Roy Choy’s Chego line here. You know, that spot from Chinatown that serves all the food you’d want when you’re super stoned or drunk 😁 Their Ms Tofu bowl with kimchi and red peppers is literally fire in my mouth - so hot and spicy good!!! I like their calimari tacos too. Portions are huuuge with their veggie bowl options. I usually take half mine home for a meal later. Their cocktails are delicious, excellent remakes on the classics available. There’s an outdoor section where you can smoke and vape while drinking and enjoying your meal. Small parking lot available, plenty of street parking. This place gets crowded on weekends but it’s a great place to get food.
Uber-cool neighborhood bar with very little pretentiousness. Awesome bar area to have a private beverage and nosh. Huge outdoor patio. Great, friendly service! Definitely worth a visit.
I had a friend that rented out a portion of their outside space for a birthday and turned out very nice. They ordered some appetizers to share amongst the party that was a fusion between Asian and Mexican flavors. For drinks, we went to the inside bar to order and loved the Spiced Daisy! A lovely drink with a kick that was perfect for summer. Loved the overall relaxed vibe and friendly bartenders.
Stopped by for the first time in years. Serving Kogi is the only reason I considered going. I've had their tacos, quesadillas, and bowls before. Went with the Pacman Bowl and it did not disappoint. I could have sworn they had TV's last time I was there. The outside patio has huge space. Great spot to hang out and have good food and drinks. I arrived when they opened and a few people were waiting to go in. Once I left, the outside patio was already filling up. As long as they continue serving Kogi/Chego, I will stop by again.
