Bestia provides a lively atmosphere with outstanding food and service. The bone marrow is a must-try. Some find it pricey, especially the pork chop, but the lamb neck is a popular alternative. Expect a buzzing environment and attentive service.

Bastia in Los Angeles is an absolute standout and easily one of the best Italian dining experiences we’ve had. We called the same day on a whim and were thrilled to score seats at the chef’s counter, front row to the wood-fired pizza oven, the magic happening in the kitchen, and the chefs in action while dining, which added an unforgettable layer to the evening. Our server was exceptional, knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and full of great recommendations. We started with the Charred Spanish Octopus, which was perfectly tender and beautifully smoky. The Herb Caesar salad was fresh, vibrant, and beautifully balanced, but the real star of the night was the Grilled Branzino, absolutely DIVINE. Light, flaky, and full of flavor, it was cooked to perfection. Sitting so close to the pizza ovens made it impossible to resist ordering a pizza, so we went with the ’Nduja, bold, perfectly spicy, and so satisfying that we happily boxed half to enjoy later. No regrets. The setting itself is stylish and artsy, tucked into a cool warehouse-like space in a vibrant neighborhood. Valet parking is available for $13, which is a bonus in LA and makes the experience even easier. From the food to the service to the atmosphere, Bastia exceeded every expectation. This is now one of our go-to Italian spots in LA, and we will absolutely be back every time we’re in town.
Picked up my husband and headed straight to Bestia for our late reservation, and the night did not disappoint. They offer valet, but we lucked out and found street parking right in front — already a win in LA. From the moment we sat down, our server was warm, attentive, and paced the meal perfectly. Service truly elevated the whole experience. Drinks • Riesling – crisp, clean, and paired well with seafood. • Seven Faces – a passion-fruit-forward pisco cocktail. Bright, tropical, and so easy to sip. Apps • Bone Marrow – rich, buttery, and a great start. • Scallops – absolutely incredible. Perfectly seared and full of flavor. One of our favorites of the night. Mains • Lobster Squid Ink Spaghetti – good, but probably the least memorable compared to the rest of the meal. • Branzino – standout entrée. Perfectly cooked, beautifully deboned, and just delicious. We skipped dessert since our reservation was at 9pm, but honestly, the savory courses alone made the visit worth it. We can see exactly why Bestia is one of the top-rated spots in LA — the quality, flavors, and service all live up to the hype. We’ll definitely be back to try more!
I’m a fan of dimly lit restaurants with delicious food and a good atmosphere. We went to bestia for my birthday, it was a total treat! Felt like the perfect place for a special occasion, the food was delicious, beautiful and pricey! We loved everything we ordered but we still talk about the scallops, they were AMAZING 🤩
Outstanding!! A really great dining experience. The bone marrow is a MUST!! The pasta was stunning and I’m considering flying back for the pear tart and black pepper ice cream 😂 I went around 6pm with no res and sat at the bar. The bartenders were all friendly and happy to make suggestions since it was my first time.
Amazing food, great service, atmosphere is more family style than fancy restaurant. Appetizers are amazing. We had the scallop ctudo, duck pate and veal tartar. All excellent. We had the chestnut pasta, awesome. For main course we had the lamb neck. It was very good but because it comes with lettuce and caesars dressing we felt like we finished with a salad. That was the only negative. We will definitely return.
Bestia can get crowded so make a reservation. This is fine dinning Italian and it is great. It is in a nice location. Parking is a bear unless you valet, so do that. The inside is just beautiful. It has a full bar and the wine list is amazing. The service is great. They take good care of you and know their menu well. They check on you, but never rush you. You will want for nothing here. The prices are high, but that is the way it is here in LA. They are comparable to other fine dinning places. The food is remarkable and we love everything there. You just can't go wrong. Their 26oz Margaret River Wagyu Ribeye with burnt onion, fermented mushroom cream and radish and poppy seeds is the best. Now this is about 185 dollars, but you will not be able to eat all of that. Take the rest home. The dogs will be in heaven. We also love their pizza. My husband always gets that. All are great. His favorite is the Burrata pizza which has the best San Marzano tomatoes, castelvetrano olives, oregano, with some fermented chilies. Everything is great there, even their salads and they have wonderful desserts. Go there for a special occasion or just go there. You will be happy.
Bestia delivers an unforgettable Italian dining experience in an industrial-chic setting. Our meal was a masterclass in execution and flavor, beginning with the stunning Scallops Crudo, which was impeccably fresh and bright, paired perfectly with the savory, tangy Marinated Olives. The pasta course was the true highlight: the dramatic Ink Squid Spaghetti with Lobster offered intense seafood depth, while the Cream Sauce Pasta with Truffle was pure, aromatic indulgence, generously shaved with fresh black truffle. For the main event, the Lamb Neck was a triumph of slow cooking- fall-off-the-bone tender with a robust, charred crust. Every dish demonstrated a commitment to high-quality ingredients and flawless technique. Bestia remains essential dining for a truly exceptional meal in Los Angeles.
I can see why this is one of LA's best restaurants! When you walk in you can feel the energy and excitement that comes from a great restaurant. This is the spot to be! Amazing Italian food with a flare. The bone marrow is a must! The steak was cooked perfectly and was tender and juicy. Make sure to save room for dessert too!
Great experience, wonderful food. The standouts were definitely the scallop crudo and the lamb neck. Sauce on the gnocchi could’ve been a bit more flavorful and the pluot crostada needed a bit more fruit for the amount of crust but really we’re nitpicking here. Service was lovely.
The food and service at Bestia is outstanding. I was dining solo and was seated at the low counter. It was a great spot and you can watch the line cooks prep their famed take on Caesar salad and finish off cold dishes before they go to the pass. I order from the starter menu as I wanted to try a few different dishes and all of them were good. Go for the Caesar salad, it’s unlike any other caesar I’ve had and it’s a modern take on the classic flavours of the salad. Mainly consisting of cos leave slathered with the delicious dressing and sprinkled with parmesan - it’s so good. The octopus with black beans is also a must - it has a good kick to it without being too spicy. And of course their signature bone marrow dish served over spinach gnocchetti - rich and the gnochetti has some bite to it. The servers was so warm and friendly, this is a down to earth gem with really good fine dining food. Located in the downtown fashion district area, its shed building is tucked away down an alley. Trust Google Maps to take you to the right place even though it looks like you may have hit a dead end. Valet parking is available for USD13.
Perfect dining experience! Wonderful service, volume in restaurant was great (no problem hearing each other) and food was a work of art. We loved everything - scallop crudo, burrata cheese and tomato salad (so fresh!), sage pizza, and lamb sauce tortellini. We loved everything!! It was beautiful and tasty. My husband had the homemade ginger beer (yum, good kick) and I had the sage lemonade (so refreshing). We were able to snag 5:15 pm counter seat reservations and loved sitting at the counter watching the talented chefs work. Can’t wait to return -we were visiting from San Diego and talked about doing a day trip soon just to go back!
Absolutely obsessed with Bestia. The flavors, the sauces, the creativity…everything was on another level. Every dish felt perfectly balanced and memorable. We had the endive salad, bone marrow, grilled octopus, fig leaf ricotta tortellini, and the black ink spaghetti. Each one was a standout in its own way. The pastas in particular were phenomenal, with rich sauces that made you want to savor every bite. The ambiance is lively and stylish without feeling pretentious, and service was attentive and friendly. Truly one of the best dining experiences in LA and I’d come back again and again.
Came here with party of 7 for my mom’s birthday and the service was 10/10 amazing. We didn’t order alcohol, just coffee and hot water and the server Frankie was so attentive, he never let our cups run empty. Food was delicious, perfectly seasoned, cooked a tad bit over al dente which I like, and creative. I loved the octopus and bone marrow for the apps, all the pastas were *chef’s kiss* but my favorite was the corn agnolotti just because I haven’t seen that at any other restaurants in LA. Branzino was great too. Pizza dough was perfect amount of chewy but wish the margherita had a bit more flavor. Would definitely go back. Disclaimer: It’s definitely loud so it’s not the best for an intimate dinner.
Bestia’s still got it. At 9pm on a Saturday, the space was buzzing in that good way—warm lighting, open kitchen, and a crowd that’s clearly excited to eat. Every dish hit. Our server suggested we add the Caesar salad and another pasta, so we went for the chestnut & mushroom agnolotti—and both ended up being highlights. The squid ink spaghetti had lobster that was tender and flavorful—a texture different from others I’ve had. The scallop crudo was delicate and bright—one of those small bites that makes you slow down and actually taste the ingredients. The duck liver was smooth and deep in flavor, and the smoked mozzarella pizza came out hot and melty. The grilled branzino had crisp skin and a juicy inside—simple and cooked perfectly. Classic LA spot that delivers an impressive meal all the way through. Next time, I’m coming early enough for the pistachio tiramisu.
I heard some mix reviews but I’m so glad I came! My fav dishes of the night were the snap peas, octopus, spicy prawns, branzino and squid ink pasta 🤤🤤 The only reason I didn’t give a 5 star is cause they don’t have mainstream liquor and their tequila and vodka were not ittt.
Place is really loud so it's a bit difficult to catch up. Burrata tomato salad - 3.75 stars Branzino - 4 stars Good crisp skin, tender flesh. Corn agnolotti pasta - 3.75 stars Texture is great and I liked the corn filling (like a corn soup) but the filling was on the sweet side. Tagliatelle with sage, black pepper, Parmiggiano - 3.5 stars There was a drizzle of honey on it - I personally prefer my savoury food not sweet. Otherwise pretty good flavours. Was expecting a bit more richness like a cacio e Pepe. Tagliatelle was thin with a bit of a bite. Nduja pizza - 3.75 stars Decent pillowy crust - could be a bit more flavourful
Interesting restaurant with good vibes But it is overrated (the food) The beef marrow, the famous dish in here, isn’t really my favorite but the taste is fine Pizza 🍕 is very mid
The food was good, but portions were pretty small for the price. The pizza was good, but tiny for $25. We enjoyed the sweet potato tortellini and didn't care as much for the chestnut & mushroom agnolotti. One piece of bone marrow for $30 is way overpriced. Overall wouldn't come here again.
The presentation of the food was BEAUTIFUL! We ate everything off our plate! The only thing is our server took long to come back and we received our salad after our food. It was still delicious! I even tried foods I normally don’t like and even those were amazing! I will definitely be coming back
We went for an early dinner on Thursday. The place was incredibly crowded—to the point where it was hard to hold a conversation—but we were lucky to get a table outside. It became clear to me why this restaurant has maintained its popularity for such a long time. The menu was creative, the execution was outstanding—from the precise doneness of the meat to the perfectly balanced salad dressing. The plating was thoughtful, and the service was quick and efficient. I’m already looking forward to coming back to try more dishes.
