Love a good patty melt, and the one I ordered at Cassell's is the best I've ever had. It's not even close. It's a generous sized patty cooked to perfection with beautifully sauteed onions and creamy yet zesty dijon mayo on the side for dipping that adds the right amount of flavor to accompany that wonderfully toasted crunch you're looking for in melt. You would be cheating yourself if you ordered it on anything but the rye. This old school favorite delivers in a classy, retro deli ambiance to match. Sophie and the rest of the staff are incredibly welcoming and informative. Cassell's is worth your time when that burger craving strikes.

Found this spot while waiting for my hotel room to be ready…have been back everyday at some point even though I’m here for a conference! Food will not disappoint. Chili cheese fries will not disappoint. Mozzarella cheese sticks for happy hour - will not disappoint. New fav anytime I’m in LA! Staff is amazing too! Already feel like a regular!

I started at the original Casell's in the '80's, when it was further east on 6th street. It was mostly self serve. It is now at 6th and Normadie, where I visited this past weekend. What a great place. The cheeseburger and fries were really good. The gentleman who took my order was very helpful and friendly, and give me the background of how it had moved to the hotel of the next owner. Love this place. I'll be back.

Best cheeseburger I’ve had in months, and the malt vanilla shake was ridiculously good! We were staying at Hotel Normandie and saw how popular this burger spot was when we checked in, so we decided to hit it before checking out.. I’m so glad we did!

Really good food for really good prices. We had the Spicy Burger Medium patty and it was cooked beautifully. So much flavor on the burger I got one to go. The onion rings were really good also with a side of ranch. The chili cheese fries were the star of the night with packed flavors in every bite. All in all such a good spot with great food and great staff.

I was here twice within the same week I stayed in LA and I have nothing but nice things to say. I came during the weekdays so it was super quiet, the staff is incredibly nice and even recognised me the second time I came. The breakfast burger was tasty but the patty melt was absolutely amazing - I highly recommend. The fries on the side are massive so those are good value for money. I really like the vibe and design of the place too. Would come back if I'm in LA again!

really good food but pricy kinda! loved the aesthetic both inside and outside. good american diner vibes but mnew and clean. service was nice, staff mostly nice! i got a bfast sandwich and added ham (ham tasted like pastrami) and it came eith a burger bun--i didnt know and they let me change it to sourdough bread instead because i wasnt feeling buns in the first place. my friend really liked her burger too. they have wifi and restroom shared with the hotel next door, really nice!

Cassell's Hamburgers impresses with its classic interior design and the lively, friendly service from the staff. I particularly enjoyed the quarter-pound burger, which uniquely comes with sauce served on the side. The sauce itself is bold and tangy, based on Thousand Island dressing with a distinct pickle flavor. It's worth trying the burger first without the sauce to truly appreciate the rich flavor of the meat. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a top-notch burger experience!

Famous for having one of the best Patty Melts in all of LA, as well as some of the best burgers, I have been to Cassell’s for lunch and dinner many times, however, this weekend I tried breakfast for the first time. I think their burgers are terrific, they have a great char on them and are different from the smash burgers that are very popular in LA right now. Service was extremely fast and polite and all of our items came out pretty quickly. They don’t have dedicated parking however, street parking in this area is pretty easy, we were able to find a space directly across the street for a Saturday brunch. Cassell’s is the typical American diner and has all the classics. Being breakfast it was a bit different and hard to choose because they had a lot of great options. We ended up choosing the Breakfast Burger, the French Toast, and had to do a Cherry Coke and side of Sweet Potato Waffle Fries as well. The Breakfast Burger was delicious, sandwiched in between two very large hash browns with a runny egg in the middle. I would definitely recommend and would order it again. The French Toast was sweet and delicious and really hit the spot. Overall a very tasty breakfast, and all of the other lunches and dinners I have had here have been great as well. Pricing is fair and services quick so it’s easy to recommend Cassell’s.

Nothing I can say about Cassell's that hasn't been said before. Cute retro vibes, an excellent vegan burger, and all around friendly service. Parking can be something of a challenge given the area, but I've never not found a spot. Wish they had a few more vegan options - especially something in the vein of salad - but again the vegan burger is house made and top notch, so I'm extremely grateful for that.

A place with a cool vibe, amazing service, great people watching and good food. I ordered a burger. They come plain with all the additions on the side. I asked for cheddar cheese. The pickles are few but good. I recommend you not use all the lettuce they give you. It takes away from the meat flavor. The lettuce also makes the bread soggy. Pretty good burgers but this night I wasn’t happy. Our fries were pretty good. My vanilla malt shake was incredible and guess what? These are the best in town. They’re not shy with the malt. We sat near a window. Outside there are tables as well. Parking is near impossible around here because it’s the most exciting part of Koreatown. We found parking this night though. There are meters and pay lots around.

Located right on the corner, southwest of the intersection. I was surprised they had a full bar. Decent amount of seating and a couple tables outside. You definitely see inflation present with the price of a burger and doesn’t even include fries, but the taste and texture was amazing. I would’ve have liked to try one of their shakes, maybe next time. I really liked their onion rings. Service was excellent. They don’t have their own parking lot, so good luck there. We were lucky enough to find street parking not too far.

The cheeseburger was very good but the potato salad with horseradish left much to be desired. The dip that came with the burger disguised the potato salad taste. The noise from banging pans and next day prep was not acceptable, even though we came shortly before 9:00 pm closing. Relatively minor changes could make this a restaurant that I could recommend.
