We got there around lunch time and not busy at all. The servers were quick to attend and friendly. The 🍜 ramen were soba and my Tonkatsu had a lot of meat in it The meat was firm but tinder, and the vegetables' taste mixed into the broth and made it really tasty!! The broth were not too salty and since we were hungry really hot the spot. There is also plenty outside seating and perfect location since at the corner 'prime location' in the plaza. Would come back again.
Went last night for dinner and we got some sushi handrolls and some ramen. Service was great. We had tuna and salmon hand rolls and we had spicy tantanmen and I had the Yamadaya ramen. Excellent flavor and the Spicy Tantanmen was not spicy 3nough but not crazy hot. Spent just over $60 with drinks. Will definitely come back again.
The Sushi was very good, the octopus food balls were delicious. This little place really surprised me in a good way
Originally I was trying to go to Kura sushi next door, but after seeing there was a 90 minute wait, I decided to look nearby and stumbled into this joint. It did not disappoint! I got a mega mug draft Sapporo, some Takoyaki, and the miso ramen. Definitely not the best ramen I’ve ever had, but it was still really good. Service was really good as well, there was no wait to be seated. Overall would recommend you try this place, especially if you’re not wanting to wait for Kura sushi.
The food I’ve tried at this restaurant was good, and I liked it.
We decided to try this place since we both wanted something just right not too much for lunch. Even with that choice, my husband barely finished his tempura bowl and I got my unagi craving fixed. Will surely come back whenever we take MetroLink to Union Station
The chicken karaage was absolutely delicious and the ramen was amazing! Both dishes were full of flavor and cooked perfectly. Highly recommend!
Feeling under the cold weather, but love to warm my appetite by ordering the Chicken Wanton Ramen. Best choice so far, if you want a fusion ramen with bite size chicken wantons and savory noodles with mixed beansprouts and green onions, be their guest! Also the Chicken Katsu Buns are packed with the immense flavor of crispy chicken glazed in sauce and fresh veggies!
Great spot for ramen and sushi. The sat us and took our orders quickly. Everything we tried was delicious. We had the vegetarian ramen, udon, vegetable gyoza, and our friends had a few different sushi rolls. Everyone was happy! The servers were pretty busy, so we had a hard time getting refills, but everyone was friendly.
I came here awhile back with my boyfriend and the food was pretty good! I was a little nervous about the food being good because the menu seemed to be a bit outdated, but everything turned out great. The staff was friendly and we didn’t wait too long to get our food. I liked the gyozas the best and the ramen broth was good, definitely not as fatty as other ramens that I’ve had but it was still tasty.

Great taste. Honestly, when we first went in we thought we might have made a mistake because food in the menu doesn't look good at all....lol, but when we received the food, it was absolutely great, very recommended!!
Woah this place is great. We were seated very fast and helped by friendly staff. It was a cold and rainy day so the ramen tasted that much better. My girlfriend and I were both blown away by the food. So so good. Cool atmosphere inside too in Little Tokyo. I will for sure come back when I'm looking for a good bowl of ramen.

Ramen Yamadaya is the perhaps the best ramen in LA, and maybe all of America? Tucked in away in charming and cutesy Japan town, Ramen Yamadaya is clean, modern, and casual. Friendly staff, and the food comes up pretty fast! $9 Karaage…traditional Japanese fried chicken, yamadaya’s is perfect with a nice thin crispy batter keeping that juicy succlent chicken meat. Nicely portioned nuggets for sharing. $17 The signature Yamdaay ramen bowl is bowl of joy. The rich, thick, creamy pork broth is so warming and enriching. the meaty, salty, kakuni braised pork belly slices melt in your mouth. The noodles are thin, firm, and chewy, perfectly absorbing that that savory delicious ramen broth. The soy soaked seasoned egg is a delight. There used to be a location in my hometown of San Diego...sad it didn't survive! :(
Ramen Yamadaya is a chic ramen restaurant in Little Tokyo with decent ramen and chirashi bowl and sushi options. Plus, there are a lot of cool Dragonball figurines on shelves at the back of the restaurant! I found that very exciting! Here's what I recommend you order: * Yamadaya ramen ($18): ample serving of ramen with chashu, nori, soft boiled egg, fried shallots, and more. I got it with the spicy paste as well. * Chirashi ($32): decent quality chirashi bowl with chef choice of sashimi and tamago over sushi rice. Very filling and easy to share with 2 people. We didn't have to wait to be seated. This was great because on the weekends, all the other places in Little Tokyo had huge waits outside.
Portion sizes for the bao buns are a bit small, the fried crab one was $9 but wasn’t satisfying and the inside just tasted like mush. The sauce overpowered everything, but didn’t taste bad overall. Everything else was fine.
First time here and was welcomed in quickly with friendly service. We didn’t wait too long for our food and it was well made and tasty! Good portion size as well for both ramen and chicken teriyaki bowl.

Staff are very friendly, courteous and attentive even though it was busy. Gyoza was just okay. Tonkotsu Ramen - broth was the best part because it had a rich pork flavor. Miso Ramen - above average The pork in the Ramen was cooked and seasoned well. The noodles weren't that great.
I ordered Yamadaya Ramen. My first impression when they served me, it didn’t look appetizing and also the ramen they use is very thin and smooth. After eating the ramen, I kind of like the broth. Somehow it’s kind of addictive to me. Unfortunately in my opinion, all ingredients in one bowl are well-balanced. Somehow the sliced pork is too thick. The only thing I can say is, I love the broth. I don’t recommend the Bento set. Far from what I expected

They serve a variety of food not just ramen. Sushi, Katsu, rice bowls, and even a bento box. Their Miso and Chicken ramen tastes good. The staff are friendly and attentive. They don't offer free refills unfortunately and not much desserts.

The Agedashi Tofu sauce and Udon broth was watered down but the sushi was surprisingly good. Okay place if you want some very standard Japanese food that's not really worth mentioning. Honestly would have gone somewhere else if I had just taken a moment to look up other restaurants in the area.

I was really disappointed with my experience at Ramen Yamadaya. The service was extremely slow, and we waited a long time just to get our food, even though it wasn’t very busy. On top of that, the food honestly wasn’t worth the price we ended up paying. Portions and quality did not match the cost. The biggest issue was that they automatically added a $16 gratuity without properly explaining it upfront, which felt forced considering the poor service. Also, the menu pricing was misleading — we were charged more than what was listed. Overall, not a great experience and I don’t think I’ll be coming back.
Unfortunately, this was my least favorite famen I have had. I had the Yamadaya Ramen, and for $19, the broth was virtually flavorless, had a fishy under flavor, the egg was over salted, the noodles were soggy and stuck together. My girlfriend got the Philadelphia roll sushi and also expressed being underwhelmed. It didn't look any better than from a grocery store. Unfortunately won't be coming back.
Ordered four things and they were all bad. Tempura was soggy/gummy, cold noodles were flavorless, the sushi deluxe did not seem fresh. Tonkotsu ramen also lacked flavor and the broth was very oily, with overly fatty pork. Even the accompanying sauces were disappointing. I am sure there are a lot of delicious restaurants in Japantown- try one of them instead of here!
