I had the breakfast sausage scramble which was delicious. The coffee was a serve yourself carafe and was so good and hot! I have previously tied the pastries which are fresh and delicious. Overall a great place to eat!
I needed the very best, most unique and definitely best tasting desserts for a celebrity dinner and I cannot find the words to describe how off the chart every single person’s reaction was to both vegan and non vegan desserts. And we had BAKERS at the table, too!! Malibu and Woodland Hills are far but they all want to try everything soon!!!! You all made me look so GOOOOOD!!!!!
Hands down one of the best breakfast burritos in the Nation. I always come here because of that. The house sauce is really well balanced as well I highly enjoy the flavors. I also am I huge pancake lover but I never eat pancakes elsewhere because your pancakes remind me of Christmas and it just warms my heart. Thank you for having such a wonderful staff and a group of dedicated good people always working the establishment. I'm always humbly satisfied and extremely happy when I stop by. I hope to see you for many years to come. Thank you sincerely, much love! ❤️
I stopped by for brunch with a friend and was surprised by the carnitas breakfast burrito—it was stuffed with tender meat and crispy potatoes. Their sourdough bread was baked in-house and tasted fresh. They offer iced coffee in mason jars, which felt homey. There's a community bulletin board for local events. Affordable and unhurried—great small-town vibe
This place is so good!!! Had the breakfast!Unfortunately lots of not well behaved children that were so loud.
I spent a week in Atwater and it took one day for the staff to know my order. Everyone is super friendly and the food is delicious. Try the house-made granola bar. Best I’ve ever had!
Stopped by the Village Bakery and Cafe for a quic bite. The service was efficient and friendly, making a busy morning much easier. It's a good spot for a reliable breakfast or lunch.
I was excited to see new vegan items on the menu this spring but even more excited to taste them, and the custom tea lattes are simply wonderful.
I love going to this place. The food is great and the staff is always friendly. My kids love the Chipotle Chicken. I've had other items on the menu, their pancakes are very good. They always have weekly specials and are always great. If you get a chance you should try the specials, for their only temporary. The pastries are amazing, I could eat any of their pastries any time of the day. We particularly love the Chocolate Raspberry Cake Roll and you cant go wrong with their donuts. AMAZING.
I love this place. The service is great, perfect atmosphere and great coffee. They have baked goods for every dietary. (Although the gluten free croissants mentioned in a different person’s review are gone, there are heaps of other tasty gluten free baked goods) We were in LA for two night and got breakfast here both days - what else can I say!
Great food. Great location. I used to stumble in here hungover for a breakfast sandwich. Now I stumble in here tired with a toddler and order her waffles. Amazing brunch spot.
The Village Bakery is one of my favorite bakeries in the area. They serve breakfast and lunch, but the real standouts to me are the numerous baked goods they have on display. Almost everything I've tried has been really quite good and generaly not overly sweet. Some personal favorites are the Fightin' (Almond) Cake, Lemon Rosemary Cake, and vegan kitchen sink type cookie (can't remember the actual name of that one). They make super cute and creative treats for the various holidays. For Halloween this year, we tried: - Apple Hand Pie: Simple but well made with a flaky crust - Vegan Chocolate Skull Cake: was actually kind of disappointed with this. It looked cool but there was a bit of an odd flavor. - Chocolate Pudding Graveyard: My favorite of these, with a rich, not too sweet, dark chocolate base and cute white chocolate ghosts - Witch Finger and haunted house Sugar Cookies: intricately designed, good, standard sugar cookies In my experience, the people working there have been very friendly and upbeat. It's counter service, there's seating inside and a few tables outside, and I've never had trouble getting a table.
This restaurant has really good breakfast burritos for 14 dollars and I also had the large cappuccino for 4.25 my purchase was 20 dollars in total for what you get it was ok. I did not try any of the pastries, I will leave that experience for the next visit. They have tables available for dining in and tables outside for those who want a more refreshing experience. This restaurant does not have a parking lot which makes parking hard to find. The only parking available is on the city curb and it is metered parking. The restaurant is kind of wheelchair accessible but no handicapped parking is available on the curb. Overall this restaurant has really good food and it is definitely worth a visit if you’re nearby.
From start to finish it was a great dining experience. Clean and friendly service! Food came quick and tasted great. Allison helped me pick out something and Kevin assisted us along the way. Thank you!
Love this bakery! I go here all the time and the only downside is they are so good they run out of the good stuff quickly but then if you go early there is a line. So literally the only down side is they are too delicious, LOL. They have vegan options here, the vegan croissants cannot be beaten. Since everything is made in-house, you can let them know your allergies and they can give you recommendations. Also, they can make any of the egg scrambles with tofu! It's not on the menu, but just let them know. Their veggie egg scramble with tofu (no egg) is seriously delicious. I also love their coffee, their lattes are just yum! I highly recommend giving this place a try even if the line is out the door! Update: still the best! You always feel like family here <3
I've been coming here for years and it never disappoints. The staff is friendly, the food is amazing, and even the drip coffee is fantastic. It's a great spot to get holiday treats and sweets, too - right now it's October and they have so many adorable themed foods, from black cat macaroons to skeleton chicken pot pies! All their baked goods are fresh and imaginative, from their delicious baked donuts to their rosemary scones. I haven't tried a single thing from here that wasn't phenomenal.
A cute spot near the end of Atwater village close to the 5 freeway. First time going in, I was overwhelmed with the choices I had with the bakery section. I want to try everything they have. I started out with the flourless chocolate chip cookie, which was delicious. It’s a little gooey so if that’s not something you like, you have many other choices. For food I got the breakfast burrito. I absolutely recommend. It is stuffed with egg, spinach, beans, cheese and potato. The potato is cooked just enough to be soft but have a bite to it adding a layer of texture to the burrito. It came with a hot sauce of some kind, also good. Their coffee is also of great quality. I will be back often.
I’ve gotten delivery from the Village Bakery and Cafe at least 4 times now. All breakfast options are amazing and yummy! Pastries and bakery stuff is to die for, really. I’ve been getting 2 different treats with every order and it’s so good every time!!! Def try the GF raspberry coconut bar :)

The best sourdough bread ever!!!!! Bought 60 sliced rounds for my father-in-law's funeral as this was his favorite. But the bakery goods are just as tasty!
We ordered a carrot cake and a chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream to serve 45 guests at a catered Birthday Party. They looked beautiful and tasted just as good. You could tell they used fresh, natural ingredients. The price was very reasonable for such high quality. Highly recommend!
I ordered a grilled cheese with soup on DoorDash once, it really hit the spot. Gave me the feeling of a loving grandma cooking for you when you’re at home sick (as I was). Need to order again soon, highly recommend!
We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and the fresh pastries that made our breakfast feel special. The lunch menu offered a nice variety of sandwiches and salads, and the service was attentive and friendly. Overall it was a pleasant place to relax and refuel
I took my wife here for her birthday on Christmas eve for breakfast. The cashier was so nice and helpful. The customers themselves were super nice<3 The food was delicious and my latte was amazing!
Super accommodating cafe with great service and great vibes. They have delicious breakfast/brunch items, baked goods that are ridiculously good.
The staff are always so kind and several have remembered me after only a couple visits. The food is delicious. I really love the tuna melt. They also had a seasonal harvest hash with sweet potato several months ago that was fantastic. The cherry hand pie was not very sweet, which my friend did not like but I did. I liked the tartness, and the texture was lovely.

I enjoy the breakfast options here. And the staff are great. Pancake and scrambles are both were good. Oh and the lunch BLT is tasty . The portions can seem a bit small depending on what you get but on the plus side they are not trying to overwhelm you and your plate. Coffee was ok, no complaints really. The best part is (no surprise) the options in the bakery case. I also like how around the holidays they will add special seasonal items to the menu (turkey sandwiches, holiday cookies, etc)
Chicken salad sandwich was fine but I would get it with some sort of special bread, not just the standard bread. This is the go-to place if you want Halloween themed desserts and treats
Cute cafe for breakfast! This place is adorable, so many different types of pastries and baked goods its honestly so exciting haha. The breakfast was good although it lacked flavor a bit. I love their pastries though and would come back for those. Cute seating area, also beware of long line in the morning.

Great service, very tasty vegan brownie, and good coffee. What really lets this place down is the filthy restroom. It’s clearly not had a proper clean in months - toilet and surrounding area, and sink in a very dirty state with long term dirt. We chose to change our baby on a bench outside the restroom, as the baby change was dirty too. Sorry guys, but this is basic cleanliness!!
A warm café with outdoor seatings (roadside) and a big collection of American style baked goods (muffins, bars, etc). Very tasty breakfast menu. Chatty atmosphere. Over steamed milk in coffee.
Breakfast sandwich was good but not great. Blueberry lemon donut was delicious. Coffee was good. Service was great. Happy greeting prompt, polite, service. Overall vibe was that if a local coffee shop with friends scattered around dining and conversing. There was outdoor seating on the sidewalk but the street is busy and it was noisy there due to street traffic. Overall solid choice for breakfast and appears to be really good stop for bakery items.

The pancake tastes weird for me and my wife as there's a weird aftertaste. I would love for others to try it and then leave their reviews. People have different tastes, so maybe it doesn't suit me and my wife's taste. The place is nice and the employees are very nice.
For the price, I was hoping the food would be better. :/ Undercooked & underseasoned... Just mid diner breakfast vibes. My husband & I barely ate our food & ended up getting food elsewhere afterwards... Just a waste of money, sadly. The coffee was excellent though! The staff was nice & the restaurant was clean. The place seems like a coffee place to hang with your friends or have a chill business/creative meeting but I would NOT recommend the food.
I didn't like the cookies... they were too hard but I did however enjoy their homemade Arnold Palmer. The brownie with nuts was moist and quite tasty Yum! I'll need to return for the egg salad as well as the chicken curry too they both looked delicious! The Counter service was friendly and they even brought me out more simple syrup for my tea when I requested it. Respectfully Reviewed.
I guess is ok, I think is more the vibe than the flavor, everything kinda Tastes the same I had the Vietnam is ice coffe and it tastes like regular ice coffee.

Just had a terrible experience at this bakery. Some of the pastries I got had texture and sweetness that were off. I looked at the previous reviews and saw that they had a lot of gluten free and vegan options. Im not saying that they were bad but my pallet is not used to gluten free and vegan sweets. The problem was that none of the pastries on display had any signage with the name or price. I should have known better when I saw duplicates of the same item. Since I didn’t know the names, I had to point to each item but the cashier never brought it up that they were vegan/gluten free. Without the names, the cashier also had a lot of difficulty finding the items to charge. At this point there was a big line behind me.
I was looking forward to trying this place. I grabbed different assortment of baked goods. The pastries were all undercooked. I was very disappointed. I also have picked up Uber eats orders there several times. Every time the staff is chit chatting and purposely making me wait for my clients food/ pastries well over the actual time the food is cooking or being prepared. They act like I don’t exist. I honestly wanted to try to like this place. But the service is not worth it. I understand people have their days but now after a few Interactions with different staff members is a big no for me . I don’t even want to take food orders for pick there anymore. Go somewhere else for over priced goods. They don’t appreciate their customers.
I genuinely think this might be the worst cup of coffee I have ever had. It’s burnt, it’s bitter, it’s giving me a stomach ache, and it cost me five dollars. I’ve driven across the country six times, and this is worse than any 3 AM gas station coffee I’ve had. It’s almost an accomplishment. When I went to order the coffee, I asked if I could have some oat milk with it. I was summarily handed a paper cup and told to serve myself on the other side of the bakery. And of course, prompted to tip on the screen. Low and behold, when I went to serve myself, there was no oat or almond milk or any kind of nondairy option. When I went back to the counter, the person who served me was simply gone. Now I’m just sitting here with a terrible stomach ache from this absolutely abysmal coffee. What a ride it has been.
Got any leftover “Get your vaccine! Stay safe!” & “George Floyd matters!” Cookies ? I missed out on those . Can’t wait to see what other moral superiority news they put in a cookie! Everyone who loves being manipulated by news headlines & feeling important reacting to them should go get a trigger cookie. Lol
