The food was excellent! Didn't take any pictures but every dish we got, was delicious and authentic!
I absolutely love this place! Thai food is one of my favorite foods and this place really stands out when it comes to selecting a Thai restaurant to dine in. The "Spring Rolls" appetizer dish is a must have! So be sure to try it, also I recommend the following dishes; Vegetable Medley and the red Curry, and don't forget the combination fried rice! They also have a decent happy hour menu but great items so also consider checking that out. Overall I love this place and till this day their spring rolls are the best in LA! Oh be sure to get extra secret sweet & sour sauce with your spring rolls!!
It's weird that I never left a review as I have been going there for years. The food is really good, drinks are strong, they have the best mangoes ever and I wish I could buy such good fruits. Service is always pleasant, and I live across the street so I try to catch happy hours when I can.
Food was good, wasn’t expecting to find such authentic Thai food in LA. Staff was friendly and prices are reasonable. Highly recommend to order a few dishes to share in order to try a variety. Pad Thai taste good and authentic, although a little on the sweeter side. Satay and sauce was decent, but will be even better if the sauce had crushed peanuts Basil Pork (Pad Kra Pow) was generous and tasted authentic too
I've never really had a bad experience at Tawanna. I've been coming here for lunch for around two years now semi frequently. The lunch special is very reasonably priced at 12 dollars with a good portioned main, a large side of rice, and a salad with a very nice sauce. The portion for me at least is just right and the service has always been quick for me. For a strip mall restaurant the interior is quite nice and feels a lot higher class when compared to most restaurants of its size. I've not been here for dinner so I can't comment on that, but I do recommend checking it out If you're looking for a good meal. I personally really like the curry or the orange chicken. Keep up the good work.
The food here is delicious! I love the quick, kind service and calm, professional atmosphere. I will come here again many times. Thanks!
Best whole in the wall, neighborhood Thai ever! We went to a concert at the Saban Theater and needed a quick, good food place that wasn’t high end and we stumbled upon this place which ended up making our entire night! The service was amazing, the food was excellent, and they overheard us telling my little cousin who was turning 13 “happy birthday!” so they brought us out a little personal cheesecake slice with a candle. Which I don’t think they normally do, they were just trying to enhance our family night out, as they sure did!! Thank you all staff, we can’t wait to return :)
Ordered the Green Curry, a side of rice, lemonade, and Mango Sticky Rice. The Green Curry tasted amazing and had a good balance of spice-to-flavor. My only gripe for that dish is that it doesn't come with rice, so I had to order a side of rice to go with my curry. Other than that, the lemonade was refreshing and the Mango Sticky Rice
Phenomenal food served with a smile. Great menu. Must have the sweet rice and mango.
The food here is delicious!! It's fresh, flavorful, and quite affordable for the area. The atmosphere and decor is really nice too. They have a few gluten free options and seem to be knowledgeable of what dishes/sauces may have gluten in it. They also have coconut ice cream that's gluten free and super creamy and delicious! I highly recommend eating here! Excellent service and excellent food!
Thai food is my all time favorite type of food of all and Tawanna Thai Restaurant is one of my Top 3 Thai Restaurants to eat at in Los Angeles, California. They deliver and really fast in our area themselves and it arrives hot and fresh, while eating at the restaurant is of course always the best way. I personally love their house fried rice with shrimp, house fried rice with duck and house fried rice with vegetables. Although they are a Thai restaurant I have to mention their Korean Bar-B-Que ribs that are absolutely great as well. I also have to recommend their beef salad as well as just about everything on their menu. I can't remember ever eating something there that wasn't absolutely great. I highly recommend it.
I had a really nice lunch here at Tawanna. I ordered the Chicken Teriyaki lunch special and a small Tom Yum soup. The small soup was actually huge! I was really surprised that it was so big. Luckily it tasted great. The chicken teriyaki was also very good. Service was fast and friendly. I appreciated that they required proof of vaccination for everyone who ate there. Will definitely go back again when I’m in the area.
When I tell you I’m a curry snob… I am Their yellow curry and red curry are the PERFECT CREAMY BALANCE. It’s not watery at all. Not overly spicy. I got their Vietnamese shrimp roll with peanut sauce and I’m honestly SO HAPPY. Food was BOMB
One of my favorite Thai restaurants. It was near my last apartment. Convenient. Good parking. Place is small but food and ambience made up for the size. Friendly Staff.
After a classic Saturday night debate on where we should eat. We decided to go to Tawanna. I was craving some Green Curry the stuff I was living off in Thailand. Tawanna definitely did not disappoint service was awesome and really gave me all I was looking for. Highly recommend.
Amazing service and great food!!!! Lunch special prices were a good deal.
The food was nice - good Thai flavours. The staff was nice and welcoming. The restaurant was not too big but it was not too crowded in the evening dinner time.
Nice quiet restaurant. The food was excellent and the customer service. We had chicken pot stickers, yellow curry chicken and chicken and mixed vegetables. Also, the lemonade was really good as well. I w
Tawanna Thai is a small, intimate restaurant in a strip mall at the corner of Crescent Heights and Wilshire Blvd. The decor is understated, but sufficiently Asian to put the diner in the mood for Asian fusion cuisine. The service was efficient and pleasant. I had galbi, Korean beef short ribs on a bed of sautéed onions. My wife had a Tawanna appetizer plate. We shared both meals, and they were both delicious. There's free parking out front. I highly recommend this restaurant.
The service was quick and friendly. They give you decent portions with moderate prices. I ordered the Thai Beef salad with rice on the side which I enjoyed. The beef was very tender. The eat in portion was much larger than when I ordered the same dish as takeout.
An enjoyable experience overall. Understated lighting makes for a cosy experience suitable for sit down dinners and quiet conversation. The staff is friendly, polite and welcoming. Food is fairly priced, tasty; with some pleasant surprises, and matches up with what’s expected for a Thai restaurant. Menus are scanned, which works as long as you’ve got data for it. Portions are good for sharing with friends and family, and the selection of beverages is fair. In all, a worthwhile place to visit if you’re looking for good dinner.
Such a cute little authentic Thai restaurant. The pad woon sen was so delicious wow!!!!! and service was super great. The only thing that was meh was the mojito… but everything else was amazing

The food here is great! I like the music choice too
They have a great lunch special! My favorite is the spicy orange chicken with brown rice. Very reasonably priced for today’s standards. They give you a yummy salad and egg roll and a potsticker in addition to the entree. Large portions. Highly recommend! You’ll love it!
The servers were so nice and attentive. They had so many gluten free options clearly labeled on the menu which I really appreciated as s celiac. Big portions. Only critique was there could've been a bit more seafood in the seafood rice as it was mostly rice but it tasted amazing and fresh.
Good was seriously good, lots of options - ask for the "authentic Thai vs American style" ... laarb, crying tiger pad se ew was awesome.. make sure you ask for Thai hot
Definitely a hidden gem. The food is delicious and fresh. I ordered the chicken pai Thai, cucumber salad, and my husband ordered the Vietnamese rolls. The customer service was great. Everything did not disappoint us. We definitely will return. This just became our new favorite Thai restaurant. Thanks
Loved it! All 5 of us had different food, and all of us loved what we got! So cute inside, amazing staff, great food!
Some of the best Thai food we have eaten. I ordered the orange chicken with coconut rice (a very sweet combo) and my wife ordered fried rice with tofu and egg. Both were extremely tasty. The prices are very competitive too. 100% would come back if we stayed longer in LA.

I was part of a birthday celebration. The food was good and plentiful. Someone else who ordered the tempura that the breading was too heavy. I agree, but I wouldn't order tempura in a Thai restaurant. For one thing I wound not call that dish tempura, I'd call it Thai fried shrimp with vegetables. We had beef with string beans, Angel duck,.braised sole filet, a noodle dish not pad thai, lemon chicken, and of course rice, including a sweet coconut rice which would have better as a dessert dish. We also had a flavorful soup and spring rolls. The service was good and efficient. I found the decor of this small restaurant quite charming. It's located in a mini-mall on Wilshire Blvd near midtown San Vicente with adequate parking.
The food is the star of this show ladies and gentlemen. We had Pad Thai and Penang Curry(medium spice). The food was fantastic. The location is under construction so it’s a little hard to get at. But it’s definitely worth the effort. It’s like a 4.6 for sure. I don’t know why google won’t just let us dial the number in.
This was a last-minute decision. The staff were helpful and polite. We asked to see the menu first because my kids are picky. We decided to try it out. They did not disappoint. I had the Pad Thai with shrimp and there was a lot of shrimp. Though I like my pad Thai with more of a peanut flavor it was still really good. My son had the Taiwan platter and he loved it. Overall a great place.

Ordered take out, everything on their menu says spicy and I asked for spicy and the food was not spicy at all. The portion size was disappointing especially for the price (over $10/dish) and the flavors were lacking and over powered by salty sauces. None of the entree options come with rice (which you are asked to buy separately) which I think is cheap of an Asian restaurant given their price s and portions.
Wasn't my favorite. Ordered non spicy food because of my stomach problems, and it was so spicy i couldn't eat it. The server seemed nice at first, and then not anymore? At least the place was nice, but i wouldn't recommend it.
I just want to say that, normally, I love this place. My husband and I frequent it quite often and bring everyone we know there because their food is delicious. Unfortunately, it doesn't matter how delicious your food is if you implement deceiving tactics. We called in for some carryout during their happy hour. When placing our order, we asked if happy hour was still going on (1/2 off appetizers). When we went to pick up our food, we found out that appetizers were full price when ordering carryout. This was rather upsetting because they never said anything when we called to place our order. If we had known, we would have not gotten an appetizer. In my opinion, it was rather deceitful. Because of this incident, I'm only giving them three stars.
I tried the Spicy Eggplant Lunch Special at Tawanna Thai, which comes with gyoza, a good portion of white rice, and the spicy eggplant. It's a flavorful dish with a lovely basil aroma, and it's affordable despite the smaller portion size. However, I should mention that the environment was a bit noisy, with constant stomping noise coming from upstairs.

I understand that inflation has been impacting us all, but charging customers for a side of rice? Really? Mediocre food quality for how expensive meals are. Had a disappointing experience on my first visit and won’t be returning.
Service was ok, and the food is a no-no (4/10) for the authenticity, flavor, and quality. The portion is significant but not recommended to come here. Parking is plenty in the front.

Burned Coconut shrimp so flat it looks like flounder. Limp spring rolls. Dry Bao Buns. Passable Pad Thai.
We ordered delivery. It was the worst Thai food I've ever tried to eat. Most of it went into the trash after a few bites. The pot stickers were boiled, not steamed. They were watery & bland. The crying tiger had tasty bites of beef but, as with the pad see-ew, the vegetables were awful. They were partially burnt & had an off, bitter flavor. Terrible meal.
Food is good, I went here a couple times, each time getting my order to-go. I ordered again today, called ahead to place my order as they close at 3:30 and it was 3pm at the time. I got there to meet some friends who had sat down to order so I decided to join them. A few minutes go by and as im eating the server approached our table and informed me I wasn't allowed to eat my to-go food inside the restaurant, I politely protested and insisted that i would be leaving soon, considering they were about to close this felt reasonable. The server informed me that if the owner saw I would have to leave but let the matter go. At 3:26, 4 minutes before closing the server came back and informed me that the owner had seen me and that I would have to leave. I could only assume that the owner was watching from the back or through the cameras and I did not like the way this made me feel so I just left. I'm not pleased with this experience or that I felt the need to write this review, it's a shame that I won't be going back to this establishment.
Went on my 30min lunch to pick up my food but once there we decided to just eat at the location. Didn’t think it would be an issue to be honest but unfortunately for the cook it was and came to our table to let us know that his location is not a “fast food restaurant” and it wasn’t okay for us to eat there with our to-go boxes. 1. He should humble himself a bit 2. No one said it was a fast food joint 3. He should learn how to speak with his customers and have better manners. Ive been coming here every Monday for the past 2 years with our Doctors from our office and was never treated that way. He honestly made me feel very uncomfortable and as if I had done something wrong. And was grabbing my food without my authorization to, until my friend said to just bring us the plates so we can plate it ourselves. He could’ve handled the situation better and just offered to plate our food for us instead of saying unnecessary comments like he did.
1. Going to the restroom, you can get a good view of the kitchen and the food preppers. No one is wearing gloves. Gross! 2. Ordered lunch special, red chicken curry. Too sweet. On my second bite, put the whole thing in my mouth and I couldn't bite it to pieces. It's PLASTIC! I wanted to throw up right there and then. They offered 50 percent off of our bill. Not one to make a scene. BE VERY CAREFUL! Wasn't able to take a picture.
DISGUSTING like why does it look so dirty I am more upset at myself for tipping the worst thai food ever this is what happens for me not driving to where I usually order. Seven sea soup looks disgusting and tasted old the lemongrass shrimp and mushroom soup taste and I'm 100 percent sure it's coconut soup I ordered on a Wednesday if you still want to go ahead and order do it at your own risk on the weekends and cooks don't wear mask.
If I could give this a ZERO , I WOULD! HORRIBLE!! The jungle curry was NOT curry. Curry is supposed to be THICK and CREAMY and SAVORY and FLAVORFUL. This was more of a FLAVORLESS RED WATERY BROTH. We try curry everywhere we go because we love it so much. This was a waste of veggies and water. I could not even eat it. My honey got this for me before picking me up from work on the 5 Dec 2021. Unfortunately, I was back at USC before I realized that we had been ripped off. Even worse is that we purchased TWO. If I could, I would drive it back to the restaurant and demand a refund. The spring rolls were basic and had very little filling. Taste like the ones you buy frozen not made in house! Moreover, they did not inform him that it did not come with rice so we had to stop a Japanese spot and pick some up! Hopefully someone will heed this warning and stay far far way and not have to deal with the disappointment. Narai Thai, Natalie Thai and some others have excellent Curry.
Sorry guys but you can’t serve food like this. We paid almost $100 and ended up making grilled cheese. Honestly…..Possibly the worst Thai food I’ve ever had and certainly the worst Grubhub delivery I ever ordered. These guys have a 5 out 5? How? Overcooked everything, gluggy rice, noodles like they came out of a tin can, rubbery cold meat, a HAIR! And if you order the fried banana you’re in for a tiny little expensive surprise. Nothing was good. Hck nothing was even edible. Terrible

I ordered the mixed combo of drunken noodles with chicken, beef, and shrimp. They gave me 2 pieces of shrimp: they could have given 5. CHEAP
We ordered green curry, mild, and orange chicken. The curry came at a level of spice that was inedible. The orange chicken tasted OK but I got food poisoning from it ans I was sick all night. Neither dish came with rice. Do not recommend.
