This place is amazing, great food, great staff! It’s a must for sports!
I am in Love with the Wings!!! The Loaded Totchos are also awesome. I ALWAYS crave this place! Beer is awesome. My favorite is the Grapefruit Beer ♡
What a fun place! Loud as Heck when we were there on a Sun nite, but Fun! Awesome food & Drinks too! Service is Fantastic too!
Crazy German Korean fusion is a great change of pace to the typical Koreatown eats. Also has a decent brunch option. Try the German fried rice!
Good sausage and pork knuckles as well as their fusion options. Good selection of german/belgian beers. Good place to bring a group of friends.
Amazing experience! The food was so good!
The go-to place to watch a game. They have a wide selection of craft beers and a delicious mix of German/Korean dishes. I definitely recommend the sliders and the kimchi fried rice.
Great food! They have a fantastic fusion (Korean + German) menu and great beer and whiskey list. Was hoping it would have been more crowded to help the ambiance. Will be back!
Army stew here was so delicious! Will probably skip the tacos next time.
This has been my absolute favorite place to go for beers and some great food for a couple years now. Awesome vibe, great beer election, exceptional service. Can’t ask for more.
Straight up one of my favourite restaurant finds in LA. Gotta love those late night, hungry and desperate for some awesome food but you can't seem to find anything open... Until you are driving down Western and pass by a place called Biergarten that looks open. You park, it is open, and then it happens to be phenomenal. Biergarten is a Korean-German gastro pub located off Western and Beverly Blvd in Koreatown. They've got fantastic food, an impressive beer selection, and great vibes. Biergarten has a really unique menu full of fusion dishes you never would've imagined existed, but are totally amazing. It's a place you never knew you needed, but now can't live without.
Korean German fusion is something I didn't know I needed in my life. The German fried rice was fantastic. Going to be back to slowly work through the entire menu.
Amazing burgers! Each bite packed with flavors. The tempura fries are a must! Coming back to try the rest of the menu for sure.
Always a great place to watch UFC and other sports while enjoying amazing Korean fusion and German sausage! Unbelievable selection of great craft German and Belgian beer on tap! Highly recommend the Kalbi Nachos and Chosun Burger. Come for your favorite sports and if your a vaper visit The Vapor Store | Vapor Vaper right next door!
Strangely quiet on the night I went. That said, the food was really good. Service was good too, although there wasn't many people there so it's hard to tell how it would be in a busy night.
Great gastropub with korean-american , LOTS of TV's to watch sports and drinks! Good selection of craft beer including seasonal, hoppy, malty and light. They also have bottled and canned beers and a wide selection on tap. I only tried the beer this time but they also have cocktails, sake, soju, and wine.
Perfect sports bar in Koreatown. Great set up and view of the TVs, great beer selection, and a fun atmosphere. Food was good considering it is a sports bar. NFL Games are displayed on a big screen and all of the other TVs as well.
This is one of my favorite Koreatown places. A Korean owned german beer hall? The only time I have ever had a hard time getting a table was during a big UFC fight night, so be warned, it's a bit of a sports bar. The food is great and the beer selection is deep. Me and my cousin, who has a young son, go here for our "Cousin Nights" where we usually set a 4 beer maximum that ends up at 6 before we drunkenly hit up two taco trucks on our way home. I love this place.
I have been coming to Biergarten since it opened years ago. It has definitely blossomed into an amazing spot. They have always had excellent food, and with the addition of their full bar complete with whiskeys from around the world, there isn't another place in Ktown with this level of awesome. Food choices are vast, some of my favorites are the Galbi tacos, loaded totchos, and the poutine. Can't decide what to drink? These guys do flights of everything from beer to whiskey! Would recommend!
This place is simply delicious. The fried chicken. The kimchi fried rice. The kalbi tacos. Pitchers of beer.. and their carbomb!! Great! Never knew that rumchata and a peanut butter stout would be so delicious! Totally recommend!!! Great place that I want to go back to and try the chicken gizzards. Oh yes! The corn cheese dip!! Surprisingly flavorful and great.
Best bar in the neighborhood. Awesome place to watch sports and get good food. So thankful this place is around.
This place is incredible. The food is delicious, amazing variety of drinks, service was impeccable. I will be returning!!!
Easy going beer hall vibe in the center of Ktown. Full bar and great selection of beers. You can find anything from more traditional Korean food to bar food with your share of fried chicken sandwiches, and even some German-inspired menu options. Great place for a bigger group gathering or to catch some games (plenty of TVs!).
Not a bar resturant type of person but my brother invited me so why not lol. It was super chill & lovely. They have some amazing tacos & the servers are sooo nice. I'm thinking of returning one day ❤😊
I love this place, been coming here for years, not only to watch my favorite sporting events, but also to hang out with friends when we want good food and drinks. The owner is a very nice person and takes care of all patrons. I highly recommend this place.
We always love this place! I usually get the panko mushrooms (tastes like chicken), and Bae gets the Ann's burger medium well with fries. Delirium tremens for me to drink and any IPA for him! 🥰Great spot to just chill...
Definitely recommend! The staff was incredible, good was great, and the drinks even better! Can't wait to visit again!
Great food, great atmosphere, and amazing people. Beer is available on draft as well as bottled, and they always have a great selection. Their cocktails are also great as is the FOOD! Every seat has a view of a TV, playing live sports including fights.
Great place. Has a parking lot. Good amount of tvs to watch sports. Service was amazing. Food was delicious. Had the short rib tacos, elote corn dip, fried pickles and Buffalo popcorn shrimp all was very good. Great beer selection, highly recommend
Service was on point. The staff took care of us from start to finish. My crew and I were there to watch the NBA playoffs. It was on point with the drinks and food was delicious. The price point too was very affordable for the amount we ordered. Props to you guys.
These people are amazing ! Love the atmosphere! The most kindest coolest people ! Definitely will keep coming here 100/100
their fried pickles are delicious. stiff drinks, which are a plus for me. I try to avoid going there on “game days” bc they have a shortened menu, and my favorite appetizers aren’t on it, so I call ahead of time to check. never had any food here that wasn’t good, tbh, and I’m pretty picky about food being hot/fresh/crispy, etc. definitely my favorite bar food in LA.
Great beer selection, from light lagers to craft ales and outstanding food! Definitely try the KFC (Korean Fried Chicken). The service is also very friendly and attentive. We have never been disappointed here.
I don't know KTown very well so when my friend wanted to meet for drinks I turned to my trust Yelp app for assistance. I came across Biergarten and it looked like a cool little dive right in the middle of everything. When we arrived it was super dead but we got there right on opening time. Really chilled out, cool space and the wait staff were awesome, there's even a little button on the side of the wall next to your table so you can call them over if they're busy. My friend and I ordered the Tater Tot Nachos and the Mac & Cheese. I had two of the Black Lava Margaritas (so delicious and perfectly spicy!) and also the Raspberry G&T. Drinks were really tasty, well priced and very strong! Absolutely loved the atmosphere and when it started to fill up it got even better! Great place to come for food, drinks and to watch sports!
We discovered Biergarten during the pandemic. We've had it multiple times whenever Uber Eats has decided it can be delivered to our house. Have tried almost every single dish and none have disappointed. We finally got a chance to visit in person and it was not what I expected. The atmosphere is typical sports bar, TV's playing all sorts of sports games, the main event that night was UFC. Beer selection is good, they have both a tap list as well as a can list. Had one of each. If you're feeling adventurous I definitely recommend the kimchi beer. Sounds weird but so good! Had a pretzel for dinner and their chicken (which appeared in Guy Fieri's Triple D) The beer brined chicken was simple but so delicious and moist. Ordered half chicken and ate it all! Will definitely come back again!
Came here for Sunday football and had a great time. I arrived at about 1pm with my group and there were about 20 other people at the place. Plenty of good seating still left and there were tons of TVs so you always had a good view. We ordered the drunken Chicken, poutine, and fried pork knuckle. All were good but my favorite was the fatty crispy pork knuckle. Definitely not diet food but it hit the spot. The wait staff was also very accommodating. The sever accidentally dropped a piece of our pork knuckle and automatically offered to get us all a round of beers on the house which I thought was great. We really didn't need the free beers but felt good that the server immediately offered compensation for his very minor mistake. Overall I had a good time. Prices were reasonable even without happy hour. I will be back soon! Oh yeah and there's free wifi! Just ask for the password
This place is a solid 10/10! The food is amazing, the drinks are great, and the atmosphere is perfect. It’s an awesome spot to watch sports or just hang out with friends and enjoy good food and drinks. I definitely recommend checking it out! My favorite dish is the kimchi fried rice — though honestly, I have several favorites here. Highly recommend! Did I mention amazing staff 😁
Jina and James were excellent. I came in near the closing time and they still took great care of me. 5 stars all around- I will definitely be back and tell friends to go because of their customer service.
Great selection of alcoholic beverages. There’s a bar inside. The food is really good too. I really like their pretzels and their Korean fried chicken sandwich is the best. Best of all it’s not too spicy for me. Much of their food is Korean German fusion. The place stays open after the kitchen closes. It’s kind of sad cause you’d wish the great food would be available when you stop by after a late event. They have got a mid sized parking lot.
Biergarten has great vibes if you want to watch sports. My friend and I came to watch the Dodgers game and it was PACKED. Be sure to make a reservation or else you'll end up sitting at a very narrow shared table like me. We ordered the whole Korean Fried Chicken and Tempura Fries and both were BOMB. I would highly recommend getting both if you're a fan of OB Bear's chicken.
Wide outdoor patio with plenty of parking. Service can be quite slow at times, but they are friendly. I was a little disappointed with the poutine because I was expecting something similar to the gravy and cheese curd poutine I had in Canada. The food was good but wasn’t amazing (maybe I didn’t order the right stuff?) but I enjoyed the more extensive beer list. I also liked that they had hard kombucha and seltzer options as well.
I always liked this place. Been going here for several years now. Once every 6-8 months. Once a week now. Might go more often. Getting tired of my "regular place" that I've been going to for 10 years now. The food is always good at Beirgarten. The menu has a nice variety. The alcohol selection is better than a majority of K-town hangout spots. The owners/staff are always cool. And it's a couple blocks from Blipsy's!
Very good food. Service was not sadly. Took 33 minutes for someone to take the drink order. Once we got our food we were very happy!
Great place to get a beer and a burger with friendly service all around. Only thing they can change is making the place a bit more lively and there a bit of an odor coming from the restrooms
Love love love. My boyfriend loves beer and I love cider. I'm obsessed with the single hop project posters on the wall. My only request would be a few more ciders, but I understand it's a beer joint.
Really nothing wrong with place. Food is great (that K style cheese burger was rwally good) and but on the chillax side for a Friday night. Many TVs and screens which played several sports including UFC, Dodgers, etc. Return? Possibly.
This a cool space for a drink. Loved the people watching as the crowd is quite varied. Service was ok, it was pretty busy so we were only checked on twice the entire time we were there.
This place was pretty cool. The beer selection was decent and the food was really tasty. It's kind of like a typical sports bar with TVs and bar-style seating, but slightly more classy and with obviously better beer and food selection than a typical sports bar. The beer prices are pretty fair too...although the food is kind of pricey.
I've been coming here for a while now and the only thing that's changed is the menu and the staff. Great atmosphere to watch all your favorite sporting events...GREAT choice of beer as well. Spaten Optimator pitcher for $25??? Gimme 5 o'demssss!!! They used to have a wider selection of burgers...but now they only have one...WHY DID YOU GET RID OF THE KIMCHI BURGER WITH THE SPAM BRUHHHH??? Now it's some generic bun, beef, green stuff, red stuff, bun, with fries. Get the nachos instead... Still, great staff, great beer, lots of TV's = a great time.
Topgolf is one of my favorite spots to lounge. You can hit golf balls, drink, or eat. But, at no expense, you can also watch sports, play lawn games, wade in the pool, or just hang out. It is a perfect spot for a mid-day or evening activity for a bachelor party or group outing.
Came here for Happy Hour. In the first hour the restaurant was pretty bare, but as time progressed, by halftime of Thursday Night Football, this place went to about 60% capacity. This spot is called Biergarten for the large selection of beers of tap, but it's totally Korean inspired food (besides one thing I ordered). It's a darkwood pubby feel in here with a scattering of TV's, but not every table will be able to have one in view. We sat smack in the middle of a room to view the larger tv up the mid. -=-Kimchee pancake-=- Pretty oily, but that's usually the nature of kimchee pancakes. I probably wouldn't get this again. I typically think of kimchee pancakes as a simple flavor, so maybe there's just too much going on with this one. -=-Kalbi quesadilla-=- Anything with the word kalbi in the name needs to live up to that meaty standard. For some reason tucked away into all the cheese and tortilla, the kalbi soul gets lost. I may try this again to see if I get a better version of it. -=-Sweet potato strings-=- It's just one jumbled up big tangled thing of potato. There's sweetness on top in the form of powder sugar, but if that's not your thing then there's atleast some parts of potato there not touched by sweetness. Flavor and goodness in this is sparse, but this dish is good for one thing and that's munching and filler. -=-German fried rice-=- This was the one dish that was not Korean by any speck. The flavor was not overly complex either. Most of my love for this dish came in the form of gravy and egg.
Good place for sporting events and PPV, especially UFC. Make sure you get reservations and it's usually $30 per person minimum. Some food recommendations, Pretzel with Beer Cheese, Assorted German Sausage and Drunk Chicken.
Dare I say best poutine in LA?!! Good service, great beer selection. Only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because the decorum could be better but if you don't care about stuff like that, this is your place for Korean fusion dishes& beer.
I've probably been to every single restaurant in LA that serves kimchi fried rice. The version here is solid! Watch out for the drinks - the pours are stiff! Has a dedicated parking lot, but it fills up quickly. I take the Purple Line and walk here :]
Roomy sports bar with excellent beer options and very interesting and delicious food. Good service, too. A German inspired spot in Koreatown? Hell yes! I had the Chosun burger, and was very happy I did. The pickled daikon and slices of fried spam along with a fresh burger patty and fried egg made for a perfectly satisfying burger to go along with any beer on the menu. I'll be back for the sizziling sausage plate. Best believe. P.S., I much prefered the kpop on the speakers before the it was switched to the game audio. But that's me!
Watched the Stanley cup games here with some friends. After a couple games they knew us. The food was good bar food. The sausage platter was delicious. It's a fun, relax, sports bar.
I'm kinda confused by this place... Germanic / European food and Korean food on the menu. I'm not exactly complaining, as I like both types of food, just kinda weird. The food was good, though. The fried chicken was tasty, the kielbasa was tasty. It's a little out of the way for me, but I would go back.
My buddy and I was looking for a spot to watch the Lakers vs Warriors & this spot came up. When we walked in there was a whole lot of TV’s and that’s when I knew this was the best spot to watch the game(they play the game with the game volume)! Love the golden retriever that was there too. We ordered their Biergarten Nachos with carne asada pieces, Wurstplatte, Biergarten wings(Mama Kwons & Garlic soy flavors). The nachos were solid and the sausage plate was also delicious. The wings were a great starter and they were cooked just right. Not too bready & very flavorful. I’d definitely come back here again to watch a Lakers game or a NFL game in the future. Parking looked pretty limited and I took an Uber here.
Its a good fusion of german and korean. I am not much of a bar person, but really, the only and best item on the menu i get is the drunken chicken. That is superb!
Parking was not difficult. Biergarten is located on Western Ave. in Ktown and I thought I would have some difficulty finding parking on such a crowded street. Luckily, Biergarten has a small private parking lot with valet parking for $2. I missed it and found street parking a few feet away. Happy hour here is from 4pm to 7pm. The food options are standard and range from chips to hot wings. My group ordered the fresh potato chips ($4), grilled asparagus with garlic aioli ($6) and the German fried rice with German sausage, sauerkraut, peas and a fried egg on top ($8) from the happy hour menu. We also ordered the the Asian chicken salad ($13) from the dinner menu. The food didn't take too long to come to our table but like I mentioned above, everything tasted just ok. The chips were freshly fried but they were so greasy! There was literally little grease puddles in the crevices of each chip! The German fried rice was good and is something I would recommend and the gravy made the rice really soft. Finally, the chicken salad was just ok. It was not a bad salad but tasted like a standard Asian-style chicken salad with a peanut-based dressing. I don't think it was worth the $13 price tag.
Decent beer selection (delirium tremens! young's double chocolate stout! eagle rock!) and some tasty dishes. The Fried Chicken Sliders were my favorite but we also enjoyed the Short Rib Nachos (w/ wonton chips), the Short Rib Grilled Cheese, the Kimichi Fried Rice and the Poutine. We also tried the Peanut Butter Sliders(??), German Fried Rice and some Spicy Squid dish. All in all, a good spot if you are in the neighborhood. (Oh and I was impressed with their music selection the first time I went...all 90s hip hop. 2nd time was more like VH1's greatest hits from 2012. Guess it all depends on what mood the bartender is in)
Not a biergarten or a beer hall, just a very dark and loud sports bar with german and korean food and craft beer, some but not all german styles. Good beer but says they have a $15 minimum for credit cards.
As a German let me tell you that - you can’t call something a BierGARTEN if you don’t have outdoor seating. It completely defeats the purpose of the name and what you expect when looking for a Biergarten. So not surprising that I was disappointed when realizing it was just a Korean bar with fun non existent German food like German fried rice and other silly things. So if you’re looking for a German experience then this isn’t it.
Great beers on tap so many options! Grapefruit cider beer blew my mind it was so good. Lots of tvs to watch games on if that's your thing but I was more focused on the food. It's German meets Korean and it's delicious. I recommend the Kimchi fried rice. Check this place out.
Been here twice. The first time we had 4 different people checking on us to the point that it actually got annoying. The second time, we honestly felt chastised and it seemed almost as if the staff was purposely ignoring us from the start. Idk, it could be my imagination. Either way, that's been my experience here. Otherwise, the food is delicious and it's a nice spot to hang out and have some drinks (if you manage to even get service).
Overall, the food at this Korean German fusion restaurant/pub is very mediocre. Extremely spacious and clean, the restaurant has numerous large screen televisions and courteous service. Unfortunately, the food is bland and overcooked. Nevertheless, based on the quality and quantity, the menu is rather overpriced.
I should have recognized the bad sign when I walked into Biergarten and there wasn't a single Korean there. The place was mostly empty when we walked in and the few tables that did have people were non-Asians. We ordered 2 beers and a plate of chicken wings. The dish was really horrible. Their chicken wings were so tiny that they are literally the smallest chicken wings I've ever been served in a restaurant. The spicy sauce that comes with it doesn't taste good at all. Our order came with fries but they were chewy instead of crispy. I heard people tend to come on weekends and stuff to watch the game. They charge you cover for when popular games are on and you have to book ahead. I'll definitely be skipping this place in the future though.
Went there because I've seen this place on TV and wanted to try featured dishes. It was a dissapointment. A burger promised to be a very unique and authentic taste if fact was just ok burger with a little twist for the sake of twist, not the taste. And chicken was just bad, distasteful and very dry. If I knew I would have went to any other place but this.
This is a review for delivery. The sweet potato strings are not shoe string style. They are really thin crispy ribbons. Not pleasant at all. It's like plate decoration you wouldn't normally eat. The schnitzel burger is also poor quality. The schnitzel is thin with little meat in some places, mostly breading. Overcooked. The bun is fine I guess but was burnt on the top, giving an unpleasant charcoal taste. The fries that came with it tasted and felt like day old fast food fries. Beer selection is nice, which is why I don't give it 1/5 stars. Maybe we just ordered the wrong stuff.
Acceptable, but there are better places to grab a pint. Great place to watch the game, but if you don't want to watch the game, not a great place. I was underwhelmed by their beer selection. They have 25 taps, which is nice, but not a place for a beer connoisseur. Nearly all the beers are macro beers (made by the big companies, not particularly exciting), with very few local options. I had some food options and they were...strange. Their sweet potato fries had sugar on them, their fried pickles were meh, and overall it was sub par bar food
Great selection of beer but if you looking for a place to snack and drink yeah you not going to get that here. This was a Thursday night and they didn’t have a lot of their food items. The hotdog platter was ~10$ a hotdog. But I mean the fresh chips was good.
My friend and I each tried a flight of beer, every single pour (8 total) tasted skunky and just off, very mop water. The food was good but that’s the highest praise I can give. Korean/German fusion is an odd choice, a few nice items but not great. Overall this is a very skippable place
We had some kalbi tacos and kalbi poutine. Had to be the worst poutine I ever had. My wife and I ate maybe 4 bites and had to force it. We questioned the quality to the waitress and she didn't do anything. We will not eat here again.
Rude customer service within a literal minute into the bar. I'm good dawg.
Terrible service. Rude owner/manager. Would not return
they sneakily try to double charge a tip price. i don’t know if it’s intentional but they need to fix their point of sale system. it seems very sneaky.
Greedy place. How do you ask for 20% tip on a bill with an autocharged 18% tip?
They charge a service charge of 18 percent that says tips And then still ask for a tip on the receipt, but include the suggested amount with the service charge so you are tipping extra for the tip as well. 39 dollars for a pint and a burger and then they throw 8 dollars on top for what?
Be careful, they have an automatic 18% tip which they give themselves on all checks. They also have the nerve to ask you to tip AGAIN on top of the mandatory 18%. Even if this place was good (it isn't), this practice would stop me from ever coming back. It screams of either mismanagement or just greed, neither of which I'm interested in supporting. Most of all it screams incompetence, though, and there's plenty of incompetent restaurants and owners out there that aren't quite this expensive or pretentious. Avoid like the plague.
Definitely the worst bar I've ever been to and that's saying a lot in Los Angeles.
If I could leave ZERO stars I would. One of the worst experiences I have ever had at any bar or restaurant. Our large group came to Biergarten in Koreatown on 11/20 around 10:30 PM for a birthday celebration, spent good money, and still ended up being treated with absolute disrespect. The male bartender working that night (dark shirt, curly mullet haircut) acted annoyed by us from the moment we walked in. We were practically the only customers there except for his Caucasian friends, who he kept going over to sit with. Every time he sat with them, they stared, pointed, and laughed in our direction. Whether they realize it or not, it felt humiliating, targeted, and completely inappropriate. As a group of mostly Latino customers, the way we were treated came across as stereotyping and blatant bias. His attitude was rude, cold, and condescending the entire time. Instead of treating us like paying customers, he acted as if we were beneath him. And despite our group spending a significant amount of money at that business, he still had the nerve to question whether we paid our tab and then overcharged us. It was insulting and completely unprofessional. I have never left a birthday celebration early because of a bartender’s behavior, but this experience was so uncomfortable that we walked out. The energy in that place was hostile, judgmental, and unwelcoming. I strongly caution others, especially Latinos, to think twice before supporting this business. No one deserves to be treated like this when all they are doing is spending their hard-earned money and trying to enjoy their night. I will never return and will be warning friends and family in this community to not patronize this business.
