The Carving Board is known for its delicious sandwiches, especially the Bentley and French Dip. The tomato soup is also a standout. Customers praise the fresh ingredients, quality, and friendly service, but some find the portions small and prices a bit high.

Came here after I saw a person review the tomato soup as “bussing” I will say the tomato soup was bussing. Also probably one of the best sandwiches I had. Atmosphere was welcoming they have some really good AC going on. Perfect for the summer honestly I would recommend a friend to this spot it’s so yummy. Cashier was friendly and patient with me ^_^ I got the Chicken Salad Club with their very popular Tomato soup ($2 upgrade cost) Loved it. $19ish before tip
We were here on a Friday around 3:15PM for lunch. Only one other couple dining in and a few pick ups. Service was friendly and helpful. Food was fresh, well designed and delicious. I especially loved my Goat Cheese (subtle) Creamy Tomato soup, but the Roast Beef Sandwich and my partner's French Dip Sandwich were awesome, too. Great flavors and textures. The Fresh Strawberry lemonade was better than the Jones Soda Blue one, but those are at least more premium fountain soda options. From what my partner implied, the prices are rather high, so it's not a low-cost diner, but it is worth it if you can splurge. There is limited free parking that is shared with multiple other businesses, including a good Sushi place (we've enjoyed a few times), Thai and couple other options. We wanted Raman, but I think they were closed for some reason. I didn't notice outlets for business meetings, but otherwise might make a quaint location to meet up. Could use more comfortable chairs, some flowers on the tables to vibe up the place for romantic dates and potentially music, thus the 4 stars on Atmosphere, but I dig the wall art a LOT. VERY Cool inspiration!
Some seriously delicious but fairly small sandwiches. They have many locations all around Los Angeles this being the most Westward of the bunch. It’s located in a small strip mall with a lot of parking. However, the parking lot spaces are very tight so if everyone is not parking well it may be hard to find some spaces. If the parking lot is full it’s easy to find free parking in the neighborhood behind the shopping center. It’s more of a to go type of place although they do have tables inside to eat. The attendant behind the counter was very polite and all of our items were made quickly for a last-minute Saturday night dinner. As mentioned the sandwiches here are quite small so don’t think of it like a submarine sandwich location or somewhere with giant belly busting sandwiches. It’s closer to the size of Porto’s sandwiches. We decided to try a few of their sandwiches. We ordered The Bentley, The Medianoche, and the Carving Club. The best of the bunch was the Bentley because the meat was truly tender and seasoned well and the sauce with it made it extra creamy and just a wonderful bite. The Medianoche was also pretty good, although not the most authentic Cuban sandwich. I wish it would’ve had a stronger mustard flavor, but still I really enjoyed it. The Carving Club was probably my least favorite of the three just because of its small size. The flavors were good, but it didn’t have the traditional club flavors in my opinion. We also ordered the tomato soup and fries as our sides and I was a big fan of the tomato soup, however, the goat cheese in it was extremely small, but the fries were not my favorite because they were a little too crisp and hard. I tend to like mine soft and salty. Overall a solid sandwich place that has some great to go options. I would recommend anyone in the area searching for a great sandwich.
So yummy!!! Me and my mans were starving and randomly decided to check this place out. I loveeee sandwiches and this place does not disappoint! I got the chicken caprese and my fiancé got the sweet chicken sandwhich. Both were seasonal items and delicious. I got the side salad which had an amazing light dressing and the house made chips were so tasty and not super oily like other chips. 5/5!!
I loved The Carving Board in the Valley, so I decided to try the one close to my office. The menu is more limited then the Tarzana location, but the quality is still just as good. I tried the Buenos Aires sandwich. The buns were soft and buttery. The steak was well cooked and paired perfectly with the roasted bell pepper and chimichurri. I went with one of the premium sides and got the cashew edamame coleslaw. It was decent, but wasn’t my favorite. I’d recommend the pasta salad instead. The deep fried Oreos were insanely good. It’s hard to to limit yourself to eating just one. The Carving Board West LA is a great option for a sandwich/ lunch spot. The quality justifies the price. I only hope they expand their menu at this location.
It was one of the best sandwhiches I have had. Very fresh and homemade food. We had the California Carver and the club. The flavors were so inviting, and the bacon and pickles really gave it that extra flavor. If I am back in L.A. I will for sure stop in again!
I enjoy eating Carving Board’s Smashouse Burger which is really good. The Carving Board has many different Sandwich. Like Chicken, Beef, Pork, Turkey, Seafood and Veggie. They also do Breakfast’s Sandwich!! They used to have the Cali Turkey Burger but they no longer have it. If you check on there website on Carving Board’ Menu on West LA they will say they have the Cali Turkey Burger, but if you go in the restaurant they will say they don’t. So this is a good place for a good lunch.
I got there before noon because if I go at noon or later, it’s packed. I ordered the Buenos Aires which has filet mignon, mushrooms, red bell pepper, mozzarella and chimichurri. For my side I ordered Cashew Edamame Coleslaw. Both are very flavorful! I highly recommended their sandwiches and coleslaw
Exceptional sandwiches and great quality for a really good price. Staff is incredibly nice and helpful when ordering. New fav sandwich spot! Got the peri peri chicken seasonal sandwich and french dip roast beef.
The hot sandwiches are great. We passed it on our way to the Getty, and wanted an option that is quick, easy, and more healthy. Ordered a Bentley with coleslaw, Turkey dinner with tomato cucumber salad, and the French dip with salad. Got our food within 10 min. Service was good.

Delicious food super helpful aervice.what more could you want Had the California smash sandwich and my friend had the turkey dinner sandwich. Both were perfect and you have option for salad instead of chips
Best sandwiches in LA. Best house made potato chips in LA as well. Service is quick and the people are nice. It is a little pricey for lunch, as some have noted, but sometimes you have to pay for quality.
High quality and delicious. Service is fantastic. Today, Uber Eats guy delivered the wrong order. I called the store (Uber Eats sucks) and explained what happened. The manager remade my order and when I picked it up, they threw in free butter cake - all at no cost to me.
The fish and chips sandwich is delicious. I split it with my mom, and we split a chicken salad as well. Highly recommend, great service too 💯

We went because of the person who wrote the 'bussing' soup review, after they had read another review about the 'bussing' soup. The tomato soup is indeed delicous. And the sandwiches were excellent. The Bentley sandwich received particular praise. Fabulous customer service too. We were all delighted.
Tried this place out. Food taste wise pretty good although the portion size was fairly small. I spent $50 on two sandwiches with fries and 1 soda. For that price I would have expected to get a little more meat in my sandwich. I would say there was probably about 4oz total on mine. Skimpy on the portion size but the taste was very good so I'll give 4/5. Overall don't come here to fill up, come here to get a tasty snack and be hungry later 😂
It was simple but good. Price is on the higher side but portion is pretty big, so it’s alright. There are enough parking spots if you go early or odd hours, but lil difficult during peak hours.
good spot to get lunch especially if in a time crunch. Quick service and got my food within 5-10 minutes of ordering. The French dip was really good and I liked the potato chips too. The only negative thing I have to say is it was a pretty small sandwich and that seems to be a common thing among all the sandwiches after looking at other reviews. Still would recommend going

Great sandwiches and soups. An underrated West LA gem. Food takes a while to get served but is 100% worth the wait. Tons of menu variety. I personally suggest the chicken parmesan sandwich, tomato soup, and chili.

Weird vibes. Very large and spaceous place but its empty and theres no music, all you can hear is the humm of the fridge and the employees yelling. Also all the employees here feel angry. Onto the food. Disappointing . I got the bourdeux. Salad is very bland and plain, chicken is low quality, sandwich doesn’t have much flavor. The presentation on the cutting board is nice, but thats about it. Also chicken is not grilled well, tastes soggy and you can still taste the blood. Maybe its not fresh. Nothing was terrible which is why i am giving 3 stars. But nothing really stood out to me, i could make a much better sandwich at home. I will not be coming here again.

I ordered a grilled cheese, tomatoe soup and fries on a Sunday. They weren’t even busy no customers and as far as I could notice not too many online orders. I made the mistake of not checking my order when I picked it up and the fries weren’t there when I got home and was about to give the food to my kid. Next thing, I went back to the place and tell them that they hadn’t put the fries. I understand we all make mistakes but I’ve worked in the food industry for over 15 years and you need to recheck what you’re putting in the bag when you’re packing to go orders. Lack of customer service provided by the lady at the front of the restaurant!!!!
