The best little burger spot in the area. It doesn't disappoint, and they even make their own ketchup. Plus they have tasty vegetarian options as well, which makes a big difference for our household.
Stopped by after reading some reviews, and I'm glad we did! Ordered the Bacon Crispinator cheeseburger, French fries, and, heck with it, a chocolate malt. The bacon cheeseburger was fantastic! I will be going back for it next time I am anywhere nearby. Seriously, we'll take that route when driving from NorCal to SoCal or vice-versa. Although I did want to try the Pastrami--it looks good. The fries were very good, as was the shake, although I would prefer a bit more malt. (Malt is an option--not a requirement.) The atmosphere is kind of plain, old-school, Mom and pop fast food place. The A-frame building and outside seating is cool. I liked the vibe of the place.
Don't know what happened but the pastrami was edible. I tried Oinkster 3 years ago. Was so good I never stopped thinking about it. This time 11/30/2025, the pastrami was dry ($20) the chili fries ($10) was small and no draft beer or wine. Just cans. I took my fam as treat. $200 down the drain. Wish I had taken them to Johnnies pastrami instead. Oh, the only thing that was as good as I remembered was the catsup. delicious. I give 2 stars for good service, plentiful free parking and location. Guy fieri should be embarrassed to have the Oinkster review in reruns.Great pastrami. Order every time I am in town
This was a place I came across on YouTube years ago. The problem was there is only one and never had the opportunity to check it. I was leaving Universal City late and had this small window of opportunity since they close at 9pm. Arrived 20 minutes before close and the staff was still welcoming. Since I knew about this place through social media, I ordered the pastrami(which for the record is $20) with fries and Oinsterade. First thing I noticed was how enormous the pastrami was. Dont get me, I came in with an appetite but I feel it can feed two people. Regardless, the sandwich lived up to my hype. Very appetizing(didnt finish), wasn't soggy or bland. Oinsterade was very refreshing and flavorful. Went another time on my travel down from northern Cal and ordered one of their craft burgers. Talk about sweeping In-N-Out and Tommy's World Famous. Juicy patty and flavorful burger. Worth getting that again along with the Oinsterade! They sell merch too but just showed up for the food.
Slow fast food? More like full-speed flavor. The Oinkster absolutely hit my cravings out of the park — my pulled pork sandwich was juicy, tender, and Carolina-sauced perfection, and my partner’s grilled chicken sandwich packed big-time flavor from top to bottom. The fries? Two types of crispiness: classic Belgian beauties and over-the-top piggy fries smothered in cheese, onions, and creamy sauce — both dipped in their addictive house ketchup. Everything just delivered exactly what it promised — no frills, all flavor. One bite in and you’ll know this is Eagle Rock comfort food done
The Oinkster is ultimately so swine! Stopped in for shakes and saw the various sandwiches, beer and wine available. Impressed by the staff and quality of ingredients and taste. The Ube shakes are hands down our favorite and are large enough to split. The Oinkster pastrami sandwich is deliciously smoked and seasoned to perfection. To say it's large is an understatement and can split to satiate the pickiest of carnivores. Overheard kids raving about the burger and fries so I'll have to save that for another trip to LA.
Super tasty burgers and milk shakes ! They were out of tater tots but the fries were good too. The spicy ketchup I was great and was glad they had jalapeños available. There’s plenty of seating outside on the patio and inside too. Lots of parking too so this place definitely has a 90s fast food vibe. Workers were friendly and food was great! High chairs available.

I had the pastrami. The addition of grilled onions and cheese made the sandwich great.

The oinkster rules! Very solid and delicious burgers. The French fries are a must with the sauce! So good.
Absolutely amazing. Traveled to California from NJ with my 13 year old son for a dive meet. Needless to say we had different expectations for the trip. He loves DD& D so we added this to our itinerar…
I had the pulled pork sandwich, which was delicious, the only complaint was their barbecue sauce was super watery and tasted like straight vinegar. My friend had the burger and couldn’t stop raving about it. They also have tater tots, which is one of my faves!
Overall a really tasty cheat meal option in Eagle Rock. They have been open for many years and have served many hungry diners. They specialize in pastrami, but also have burgers, shakes, and chicken. You can dine in, but most choose to do takeout. There are about five parking spaces, otherwise it will be street parking. It’s a 4/5 for me because there are many other burger places I enjoy more, there are other deli options that I would prefer to get pastrami from, however I would definitely return to try other dishes. Tonight we tried the Oinkster Pastrami, which was very good, although I like my pastrami a little, more seasoned and crispier. It comes on a French roll as well, and not like the usual rye or other types of bread it is typically served with. We also ordered the 1/3lb Burger and it was very good, although I would not call it a unique burger, and there are many others around LA I prefer more. We also tried the Cluckster with cheese added and that was my favorite of all the things we ordered. I would definitely go there again for that sandwich specifically. The Chili Cheese Fries are also worth ordering and we’re probably my second favorite thing that we ordered. Overall a really great cheat meal, although each of the items we ordered have better versions from other places around LA.
Great pastrami sandwiches with huge portions. They also have amazing burgers I haven't been able to try yet. Great friendly service.

The food is good, and the architecture of the building is charming. It’s a mid-century diner. Parking is available, and access is pretty easy. My issue is the price. Two Reuben sandwiches (which were okay), two orders of fries, and two sodas cost us 58 dollars! I understand that inflation is a factor, but come on, we’re not even in the heart of ‘Pasadena’s tourist streets.’ I’m sorry, but they need to review their prices. Paying close to 30 dollars per person for the food we received is ridiculous. I won’t be returning.
I'm giving it 3 stars because the pastrami sandwich I had there was disappointingly average. We were one of the first customers after it opened, and I wonder if I got pastrami from the day before? The service was good, and the vibe was nicely casual. If I go back, I'll try one of their burgers.
I dreamed about trying the Oinkster all day today. When I arrived it was pouring rain so no one was driving in LA, and the warm glow of the a-frame building was so inviting. I asked the cashier what I should get for my first time, and they said the Oinkster pastrami sandwich. So I went for it and made it a combo. Personally, I was a little nervous for a Swiss cheese and a coleslaw flavor together (what am I, 80 years old?) and I was nervous the sandwich was going to be soggy. No way, it was incredible. It wasn’t greasy or too saucy, but I did have to eat it like I was playing the harmonica. So much meat I wasn’t sure I’d ever get to the bread. It came with a delicious mustard that I ended up dipping all the scraps into. The fries were perfect. They reminded me a little of in-n-out fries, but jumbo. Crispy, but not hard nor soggy. Not too salty. Some of the best fries I’ve had in LA. I grabbed a chocolate milkshake to go. It was pretty mid to be honest, but the ice cream comes from a local spot so I had to try it. I think everyone loves the Ube, but, I taste tested the ube there, and I just am not crazy about it. 3.8/5 overall. It’s satisfying, but I didn’t leave with my mind blown. I’m definitely coming back to try a hamburger.

It wasn't bad. I had the Oinkster pastrami, but asked for the red-cabbage coleslaw on the side, partly because of the reviews which said it got the sandwich soggy, but also because I'm not typicall…
Small pastrami BIG price!!!! Ouch!!! It tasted great but the price was hard to swallow.....PUT SOME MEAT ON IT! Please.

What you want in a pastrami is ribbons of fat and a good with the grain cut. That way you get nice strong tendons to catch in your teeth as entirely strips of pastrami get pulled out of the sandwich into your lap since pastrami cut with the grain has some real strength - like a good belt! $20 for the most unique with the grain high fat pastrami cut.
I started going to Oinkster when it first opened in Eagle Rock. I'm not sure if Andre Guerrero still owns this location, but the quality has gone way down. Food: I ordered the BBQ pulled pork sandwich. I couldn't locate or taste the Carolina BBQ sauce. It definitely wasn't blended into the meat. The French roll was soggy, wet, and fell apart while attempting to eat same. Perhaps because they wrapped the sandwich tightly and because it sat on the counter so long, is the reason it was so soggy. Service: I ordered via the app, entered the store and was advised they just received the order. I rerurned from the rr and sat and waited. The woman who took my order and gave me the rr code, said nothing when I returned and sat directly across from the register. I waited. Finally, I made eye contact with the same woman who took the order, who then advised the other employee that my order was sitting on the counter (for abut 7-10 minutes possibly.) The second woman handed me my order and stated, "she didn't tell me that was your order" "Can I help you?" "Are you waiting for an order?" Or perhaps the woman who originally took my order, recognizing I returned from the rr and states, "your order is ready" Just some of the statements that crossed my mind. Please consider a better French roll for that particular sandwich. I tossed the remaining sandwich after a couple bites.🤷🏿♂️
We've been coming here for years, drivi g in from Upland, always thought that they had one of the best pastrami sandwiches in So. Cal. But as of today all that has changed. They've gone from the top of our list to the bottom. My wife & I both feel the same. The meat didnt have the flavor we had come to love in the past, the slices were thinner, it was bland, the bread was tuff, and the piggy fries had way to much souce, the cost was $55.00 far to high for such a sub standard meal. Not sure if there has been a change in ownership or not, either way, we wont be going back there any longer. And suggest you save your time, money and gas by not going here if good food is what you're looking for. Very disappointed.
Been coming here since they opened in 2006….came again today and realized it would be my final visit. The food that kept me coming back is long gone. The quality has gone WAY down over the years. Double cooked Belgian fries used to be crisp and sooo good and now they’re as soft and flaccid as In-N-Out fries. The ube shakes were amazing in the past, they used Fosselman’s ice cream and now they taste completely different, like fake artificial flavoring with watered down consistency and zero thickness even with the added malt. Burgers were juicy and used to have the option to have gruyere cheese which made it so yummy and now it tastes pretty basic and overpriced for what you get. The only thing that still tastes the same is the chipotle ketchup. The food might be okay for people who never tried it during its heyday, but not for those who know the OG taste. What a shame.
I really wanted to love this place, especially after having wanted to check it out for years, but... I had one of the cheaper meals with a pulled pork sandwhich, fries and a drink. The drink was small, the fries weren't very seasoned and sandwhich were nothing to write home about either. I really had high hopes for the Sammy, but it didn't have a good smoky flavor to it, was somewhat dry and the sauce that came with it didn't really do anything. I opted for the house ketchup, which was better than regular ketchup, but not by much. I would have opted for the other sauces, but they charged a dollar for each, which is ridiculous if you are already paying $20+ minimum for a meal. I will give it another try and adjust the rating, if it is worthy, but I am honestly not eager to go back and take a $25/person chance.
Food is great. Beer on tap is quite good. Clean atmosphere. Lots of parking.\n\nCashier was rude, unacceptable; ask for help from a coworker before blaming the customer.
Got the "Oinkster Pastrami," by far the worst pastrami sandwich I've ever had. So bad I had to dig up my Yelp account to make this public service announcement.
