A delightful surprise in Losar de la Vera. Restaurante Carlos V combines excellent traditional cuisine with warm and friendly service. The dishes are well-prepared and flavorful, and the atmosphere is tranquil, perfect for enjoying a leisurely meal. We were given a table in the interior dining room, and the views are spectacular. A highly recommended stop if you're in the area.

My partner and I went to lunch yesterday and it was superb. Beautiful views, excellent food. We ordered the duck salad and the Iberian pork pluma, and everything was exquisite and the portions were very good. And for dessert, we ordered the French toast and the cheesecake, and they couldn't have been better. It's true that it's expensive, but if you want to eat well on a special day, I recommend it. Plus, the food was served in no time. Felipe served us, a delight. Of course, if they offer you a shot, they don't buy it for you, hahahahaha. You have to pay for it. Here are some pictures.

An incredible experience. We couldn't find anything vegan nearby, and here we spoke with the chef, Elena, and each time we went, I had a personalized menu. Super nutritious dishes, with a lot of variety and incredible flavors. They tell me it's a vegan restaurant, and I believe it. Great attention and care, excellent professionals; you can tell when you have a passion for cooking. The service is also worth mentioning. I've already been back three times, but I would definitely go back again. Highly recommended.

We saw the reviews and decided to give it a try. We had dinner on the outdoor terrace and it was wonderful. The people at the other tables were very considerate, even though they were a bit close together. The dishes were very elaborate and delicious. We had smoked sardines, De la Vera cheese, and ribeye steak. Highly recommended.

Best croquetas I've had in Spain, perfectly thin and crunchy crust, silky smooth bechamel that contributes to enhance the flavour of the filling, the ration isn't cheap but it's impressively abundant. We also tried the special, grilled and caramelized artichokes, didn't know artichokes could taste so good, it's true that it's on season, nevertheless delicious. The place is really cozy and welcoming, with super friendly staff, I will totally comeback the next time I'm nearby, also the appetizers that comes with the beers were spot on, a really nice match.

Wonderfully welcoming restaurant, I had an impressive impromptu deggustation of many local and traditional wine, white served in chilled glass, food, mijas con huevos, not one but two delightful liquers, acorn based and cherry, delicious dark chocolate figs and a parting gift of local produced sweet paprika already sampled on my food. Thank you to all the helpful staff most especially Helen, who compensated for my lack of Spanish with her much better English giving me a memorable night of losar de Vera hospitality, including providing company for my solo dinner

Great staff and even greater food. The back restaurant has a great view of the rolling hills both indoors and outdoors. Although a bit pricier than most local restaurants the food was excellent and with generous portions. I had the days special which was an amazing tender goat leg. They bring a great combination of local delicacies and creative cooking. Hats off to the chef.

Pedimos dos platos de las sugerencias del día: chuletón y carrilleras de ternera. Las carrilleras nos encantaron. El chuletón nos gustó, aunque el interior de la parte más gruesa estaba frío. No estaba perfectamente atemperado. El restaurante tiene buenas vistas y el servicio fue correcto. Los precios nos parecieron algo elevados: 64€ por los dos platos, agua y pan. Nos pusieron dos calditos muy buenos como aperitivo por cuenta de la casa.

I'm not giving it a high five because we had called to reserve a place on the back terrace and they said yes, but when we arrived they said no. Aside from that, the food is very good, the service was very attentive, and they also give us an appetizer upon arrival and ice cream chocolates at the end. We ordered strawberry salad and fried Camembert and the grilled octopus, and everything was very good.

The food was incredible, and the waiters were very nice, but they had little idea of what to do, yet they really tried hard. It was quite noisy at times, but it was very good. I recommend not ordering too many appetizers if you're not eating much, because the portions are large, but they're still delicious. Highly recommended.

Went here on a Monday night as not a lot of options. The younger waiter was friendly enough. Orders arrived quickly and portions were large. The nexus choices weren't huge but had local dishes and enough to make a selection. The steak my daughter ordered was extremely rare, and we asked it to be cooked on a bit, which they did without moaning (good on them). My husband had lamb chops which were very good and I had salmon which was large and came with courgette spaghetti and an avocado mayo. These made the dish as the salmon itself was plain. Wine and beer prices good (2.20 and 2.70 euros). Meal prices more than elsewhere but large portions. My daughter and I shared a melt in the middle chocolate pudding with pistachio ice-cream which was lovely. With the bill came little mini magnum ice cream bites. Nice touch, but I was stuffed!!!

I visited the Carlos V restaurant and, unfortunately, my experience was not satisfactory. The initial service was slow: they took quite a while to take our order, and by the time they did, they were already out of croquettes. Furthermore, even though we arrived before the table next to us, they were served several dishes before we were. As for the food, the sweetbreads were excessively garlicky, bland, and, in my opinion, undercooked: they lacked that contrast between a crispy exterior and a tender interior. The ribeye steak arrived completely raw, only seared on the sides, and they didn't ask us how we wanted it cooked. When we sent it back to the kitchen, it was still raw (not rare, raw). Such a large cut of meat needs to be cooked slowly, and the time it took gave me the impression that they forgot to put it on the grill, especially since another waiter came to ask what we had ordered for our main course. Finally, the "revolconas" potatoes had very thin, tasteless, and undercooked bacon. Overall, the experience didn't live up to expectations. It's true that the restaurant was overflowing with people, probably because it was peak summer season. Perhaps they couldn't handle the situation well due to the large crowds, which may have affected the service and the quality of the dishes. On a positive note, the views are truly wonderful, and the desserts are worth trying: they are highly recommended and make a great way to end the meal.

The treatment we received today was deplorable. Two very rude ladies greeted us and told us they'd changed our seating. We had a reservation for dinner on the terrace, but due to the wind, they told us it wouldn't be possible. Instead of seating us in the dining room, they'd given us a table across from the bar. We explained that we come here every year to celebrate our anniversary, and they said that's how it is. A nice way to lose customers. We celebrated our anniversary there and couldn't have chosen a better place. A beautiful restaurant with unbeatable service and exceptional quality. I have nothing but good things to say. We'll definitely be back.
