They have the best parrillada in town in my opinion. The restaurant is in good shape with good service every time I visit.

Food was EXCELLENT! Everything else was fine, but it's the food that is worth it.

I've been eating at Jalisco for as long as I've lived in Lufkin and I've always been pleased with the food and the service. It's one of the best Mexican places in Lufkin with that small town restaurant vibe.

The coffee is magical. It is worth the visit for a hot fresh cafecito. The balance between, rich aroma, smooth mouthfeel, and drink ability will give non coffee drinkers pause. A second cup is a necessary indulgence without guilt, as the boldness and yield is non intrusive. This coffee stirs up my memories of fresh brewed Nescafe I would drink in the Mexican highlands on winter vacation. I dont drink coffee much these days but I have my dalliance here as a coffee lover. It is what I find pleasing about breakfast here. The food is authentic, not greasy or rushed looking, but rather wholesome, and presented in a pleasant, attentive manner. The highest remarks I must conclude with are that the taste, presentation, and service is consistent going back to the days it first opened for business. The parking lot is the only thing that I do not like. It has dips here and there that you should keep an eye out for. Machacado is my favorite. Feed the jukebox.

My husband and I call Jalisco “Our Place!” We have introduced it to our family, and they love it, too!!! We order street tacos and they are our favorite!!!! The rice and refried beans are so tasty! The salsa is delicious, too!! We love Jalisco!!!!

Favorite Mexican restaurant in town. The shrimp cocktails are great and the pastor tacos are some of the best I've had. Fair warning, make sure they repeat your order. I've had some mixed up orders more than once but since having them confirm them I don't have issues.

The menudo was just what I was expecting. With large amounts of the good stuff and perfect seasonings, they even gave me onions, cilantro, and jalapeños with lime to top it off. I was enough for 2 people. Did I mention the homemade corn tortillas? Yum!Definitely my new go to place.

I have bee going there many years. The food has always tasted like a lot of work went into the preparation of it. I moved away in 2011 but when I visit Lufkin it is a spot I love to visit. The family that owns it has gone above and still does excellent. You absolutely can noy go wrong. I would say the best in Texas not just Lufkin.

Visiting the area, tried this place on a recommendation and am very glad I did! I may not be a trained 'foodie', but have sampled Mexican food all ove the country and this was some of the best, frshest, most uniquely flavored food I've had! Even the extra sauces the brought over were too good to not use, but everything tasted so good, it was a shame to cover up the original flavors!!! A good quandary to have!! If/when I get back here, or know of anyone heading near here, this will be top of my mind for recommendations!! Staff was friendly, location is a bit dated but clean, so don't let that keep you away! I had the Texas special and a hibiscus drink. Both hit the spot, and I was tempted to lick the plate clean 😋

Loved it. We are on a cross country road trip from California to New Orleans. Decided to stop in. Sweetest wait staff. Food was excellent. Very very good. Margherita was also very good and strong as well. Ambiance is great. And just like when you go to Mexico; there is no rush to leave and pay. And when you are ready, just go to the counter and pay. Traditionally after a meal it is common practice to talk and enjoy each others company.

Service was okay. Very sweet waitress, but wasn’t very attentive during our visit. BUT food was amazing, very authentic in my opinion! I’m very picky about my Mexican rice and beans and these definitely were delicious. Tortillas were so soft and yummy too!! Husband loved the enchiladas and my girls enjoyed their quesadillas. And if you love a good spicy green salsa, I’d say ask for it, won’t disappoint! 🤤

Went for breakfast on Sunday. Our go-to place for Menudo. Though on that day, it was more spicy than normal. I could see the huge chili flakes. I had to add more cilantro & limes to cool my tongue, but the flavor was soooo yummy. It definitely cleared my nose! 😃 You can see the meat is cleaned well, as little fat was floating. My daughter had pancakes & sausage, which the sausage tasted exactly like McDonald’s!!!! 🤤 The sauce for the Huevos Rancheros was on point! Waitress was super attentive & pleasant.

This a good place to get some real Mexican food. I had the Chilaquile special with pork chop and for desert some churros. Everything was delicious. The surprise was they just started serving dessert. My mom and I enjoy coming here when the weather is cold because the have the best menudo. If you are a true Mexican you like a pata in your menudo, be sure to ask that they add one and they don’t skimp out on the hominy either.

Walked out of lindo Mexico and came here. Food was the best mexican food I've had since I've moved from south Texas. Service was great. I had the beef enchiladas with rice and beans and some queso dip. Flautas were a little small but delicious. Bathrooms could use a little attention but it was near closing time so that's understandable . I will definitely be going back.

A bit run down, hole in the wall, or a dive Mexican joint. But looks are deceiving when it comes to this place. Best breakfast on a budget! Service is good and portions are plentiful! Authentic.

It was real good authentic Mexican food it was so good I have no idea what I ate and the people that served me didn't speak English so they didn't know what I thought of it it was okay wasn't the best that ever had and it wasn't the worst I ever had it was just good honest Mexican food.

This restaurant serves seafood and the usual Mexican items such as tacos, flautas. It's a nice variety of food but the service isn't always that great. I don't order coffee but a relative does and he never gets asked for refills. Sometimes the cashier can be rude but it's not on the extreme side. This place needs to be remodeled as it's clearly old and not always clean. It's a good restaurant but it can be better.

Menu was a little messy and coffee was Folgers (boo)(would have loved some cafe bustelo or other stronger choice) but overall the food was fantastic!! Definitely give it a try!!

Place was clean, staff were friendly. I'm not going to mention covid because Texas doesn't care anymore :D They had a great selection of unique sauces. Just different from the usual but tasty in their own right. I ordered the menudo. It was delicious, it also had its own unique flavor. In a world of fast food where everything tastes the same I'm glad to see restaurants that aren't cookie cutter. I would definitely eat here again when I pass through.

Super nice folks greeted and sat my party of two. The salsa tasted like marinara with a little cilantro. They also brought pico de gayo which was very good. I mixed them together and it made a great salsa. Our server, Nedia didn't care about us at all. She was too busy visiting with the people occupying the only other table of customers. We had to go to the front to ask for someone to take our order. At that time, Christian began serving us. He went above and beyond to make our experience a good one. He apologized for Nedia over and over again. Thank you, Christian. You ROCK! The food was pretty average except the carnitas. They were 4 star.

Price is okay a little high & food isn't anything great. We didn't finish all of it because it was too greasy and I swear they gave us two big spoon fulls of beans before they expired lol. I'm like WTH. The only reason I'm giving it a 3 stare is our male water was awesome and attentive. The place is on the smaller side. The waitstaff were very friendly and attentive. The food was brought out pretty quickly but I had ordered one soft taco and two crunchy but all three were soft. It wasn't that big of a deal so I didn't say anything. The meat was more like fajita meat instead of traditional taco meat. It was a little tough but the flavor was good. It came with charro beans, lettuce, and tomato. The cost of my Tacos (fajitas)? was around nine dollars.

The girl at the front wasn't friendly at all to me but I watched her smile and be nice to the other customers. I had to go to the hospital last night because I got food poisoning from here. Never again will I eat here. The service was poor. And all the girls that work there all they do is stare and give you attitude. I mean if you don't like your job you can gladly leave.

Salsa was spoiled, they smelt mad and the lid was bloated up you can tell they were left out or in the heat. We called to see if they could do something about it and inform them they were serving salsa gone bad and all they did was say come back for new salsas instead of actually caring or wanting to compensate.

I don’t know what happened to this restaurant. I order Diablo shrimps and it was awful. The shrimps were not fresh (I hope I won’t get sick) and the sauce was so plain. My husband’s chicken fajita was barely warm! Oh oh, the service was bad! Will never go back.

First of all there's about 50 Mexican restaurants in town and none of them are very good including this one just average I don't know why you all keep giving 1 Star restaurants a five-star rating maybe you've never had a five-star meal I just don't know. Anyway this place was barely average. I ordered chicken and beef fajitas I got shrimp it was supposed to come with an avocado salad I got maybe a teaspoon of avocado if that on a bed of lettuce. It's very difficult to get any quality food in this town a Cisco truck backs up to the restaurant vomits on your plate they throw in the microwave or the deep fryer and serve it to you and that's about it. it's no surprise why there's more heart doctors and diabetes doctors in this town than anywhere on planet Earth oh and a pharmacy on every corner. Just bad food that's really really bad for you and this place is no exception.

Bad service! We showed up & place was full so we are happy because it must be that good! We went to server and he said to wait for a table, wait time was 15-30 mins. My husband my 3 little kids and myself waited for 45 minutes. “Our table” was being cleaned and some lady walks in and sits where our table was supposed to be. He didn’t tell us to wait by the table so we assumed as any other restaurant you wait to let them clean and then they sit you. We were not given priority by anyone. We talked to a waiter and he told us “well here you sit yourself where you find a table”

I placed a order for delivery at 6:30am that said it should be here at 7:30am. I waited and called at 7:45am and they said my order was still not ready for another 15 minutes , so it will be ready at 8am. I didn't know it takes them 2 hours to cook 2 tacos, so if your trying to order food while at work , this isn't the place sadly. La unica has better service than this..
