A must-visit octopus restaurant in Lugo. The octopus is the best we've had in the area. And all the other dishes were excellent, without a single complaint. For dessert, the cream-filled pastries were delicious. We were served by Adán, who is a fantastic and incredibly funny professional. Highly recommended, without a doubt.

I returned to A Lareira after several years and was delighted to see that, although they've updated some of the restaurant's decor, its essence and quality remain unchanged. The octopus is still excellent, Marina is always on top of things, and the rest of the staff are always friendly and attentive. Dishes like the grilled baby squid are a sure bet. Special mention for the cakes: the cheesecake and the orujo cake are spectacular. A place you always want to return to.

The octopus at this place is delicious, cooked perfectly and very tasty. We didn't have a reservation and got tables outside, even though we were standing, the service from all the servers was fantastic, very friendly and pleasant. Highly recommended :)

If you're passing through Lugo, this is a 100% recommended place. It's a family restaurant with very good food. We went without a reservation and had to wait a bit, but it was worth it. With the beer we drank, they served us an octopus tapa, which was delicious. Obviously, we ordered another portion of octopus after lunch because it's the house specialty, and it didn't disappoint. A reasonable price for everything we ate: three dishes, which were a secret, octopus and squid Andalusian style, and two drinks each, costing €20 apiece. Pleasant atmosphere and good service.

A good choice. Some friends recommended it to me, and it's a good thing we made a reservation because it was packed. The staff was friendly and quick. We ordered several portions, and everything was exceptional. Octopus, squid, Padrón peppers, and so on. Good quality and good price. The peppers and the baked cheesecake are highly recommended.

You order some beers… and as a tapa, an octopus leg!!! Tender, flavorful, and bursting with taste. The menu is small, but every dish we tried was incredible and very reasonably priced. I would definitely go back. If you're in the area, don't hesitate. Call to make a reservation. Recommendation: octopus and secreto (a cut of pork), for the most discerning palate!!!

A great place—it's not within the city walls, but it's a short walk that's worth it—to eat octopus, among other delicious dishes. It's best to make a reservation, though, because it gets packed, as they have very good food at a more than reasonable price. We had to eat at the bar, but it's still worth it. The octopus was perfectly cooked, and we also ordered some grilled squid, which was delicious. The staff was top-notch, and the desserts were on par with the rest of the meal: homemade and delicious! With the beer, they give you some octopus as a tapa, but we order the portion later 🤤🤤🤤 Google's reviews were definitely right. If we return to Lugo, we'll return to this place.

Impressive octopus, exquisite and tender. The grilled squid is incredible, and the natural mussels are sublime. We were highly recommended this place; we'll return to it every year.

As for the quality of the food, we loved it. The octopus was incredibly good. However, the difference between a portion and a half portion is very small, so it's better to order the half portion. The Milanese was very good and large, and for the price, it's great. The menu is also worth it. The baked cheesecake, one of the best I've ever had, was spectacular. However, as for the service (at least our experience), it could have been much better. They served us almost without looking at us and were rude. Furthermore, when it came to paying, they forced us to pay in one lump sum. Even though we were a table of 13, we offered to pay in two parts: part in cash and part by card, but they rejected it and we had to pay all at once. I don't think it would have been a difficult thing to do, such a small gesture to facilitate customer service.

We had the set menu for 14 euros; it was very good, homemade food, and the desserts were great too. They were preparing the octopus at the entrance of the restaurant. Highly recommended.

We went to this restaurant because of its good reviews and left completely disappointed. I don't understand how people can wait in line for food at a place like this. Of the three starters, the "octopus salad" was sold out, and to make up for it, they offered us a salad with 90% lettuce, 3 shrimp, and 10 grams of pineapple. The fried fish was a sharing plate (there were two of us) with a dozen fried anchovies. Assorted cakes were offered for dessert. €14 can be a good price if the product has a minimum of quality. We didn't get that impression.
