Seafood tower for two is excellent and well priced at under $50.00. Steamers and sushi were fresh. Service was outstanding on a very busy day. Legals C Bar can get a bit loud but well worth it. My only complaint is i wanted more steamers! The steamers were an appetizer serving.

We stopped here for lunch and had a wonderful time! Our server, Amy, is a delightful person and did a great job of keeping track of us without being intrusive. The food quality was extremely high as it always is at all legal seafood locations. Most importantly, the special protocol for gluton-free consumers is the best around. Be sure to leave room for desert and try their new Boston cream cake (see the photos).

THE FOOD.... MAN I FORGOT TO GET PICTURES THATS HOW FAST I STUFFED MY FACE. The food was immaculate and unbelievably fresh and all I could think as I ate was "Childhood" I felt like I was back on the Islands eating straight off the beach. GIVE RACHEL A RAISE THANK YOU, She was THE personality I love as a former server myself she ROCKS!! (I did get oyster pics tho!)

The chowder is amazing! Atmosphere is great! Parking is plenty, and the food and drinks are great!!!! We had the tuna, scallops and the fisherman's platter! We were traveling up the New England coast and stopped for the night here.

Everything was Amazing, from the moment we were greeted & seated. Our Server was exceptional and very informative about local attractions, etc. She explained where the Oysters were from as well. Great place! Highly recommend!

I'm 5 months pregnant and I've had such a difficult time finding somewhere that I consistently like. However, legal will forever be my comfort place to go dine. It's always good! Is it expensive? Yes. But SO WORTH IT. my husband had the malbec to start and I had the non alcoholic all day rose. Fantastic. Then crabcakes and Ceasar salad. I love the amount of Crab you get! The Ceasar was HUGE. I ate alot and barely made a dent. For our entrees, I had the salt and vinegar crushed cod and he had the seven spiced swordfish. HONEY HES STILL TALKING ABOUT HIS MEAL TODAY!! We're always so happy and impressed with the quality and care they put into the dishes. The staff are always friendly, we had Marina last night and she was a Doll. I Cannot wait to go back!

Relaxing and nice atmosphere where we didn't have to yell to hear each other speak. Our favorite part of our order was the red wine sangrias. They were delicious, and the food matched very well with the quality and taste.

Really good sea food, fresh and delicious. The wine bottle decorated wall is impressive. Good atmosphere for having dinner with a bunch of friend.

One of the best meals I've ever had. I got the Mexican street cod. The fish was the freshest and amazingly cooked. The staff was very helpful, friendly, and attentive. If you're in the area and want sea food. Go for it

Finally gave this place a chance. Was completely surprised by the experience I received, first off the host was better dressed then I ever expected a host to be and I’ve worked in countless restaurants. He was super nice and started our visit off right. Our server was also very sweet and took the time to make real conversation. I ordered the lobster Mac and cheese and was expecting chunks of lobster not a entire lobster stuffed with Mac n cheese.... It was delicious and worth the market value price!!!!! Check this place out if your looking for a new place to dine

The coffee mud pie was really good. Thank you to our waiter for the great suggestion. Somehow he just knew how much I LOVE coffee ice cream! Service was great. Waiter was attentive, patient, and kind. Food was great too. Highly recommend the chicken wings and coconut shrimp appetizers.

You can never go wrong at Legals!!! Drinks and sushi was on point, per usual. Sat outside on a beautiful fall day! Only thing that wasn't great was the little flying bugs...but that can't be helped...we chose to eat outside! Lol 10 out of 10 recommend!

Had dinner here while in town. Nice place with great atmosphere. Thought the prices of wine were a little steep but I'm comparing them to my homestate, FL. Ordered both the cod and haddock to taste the difference on these two white fish. Not sure if it was the way it was cooked or not but, we absolutely preferred the haddock! More flacky & tasteful than the cod. The cod is firmer. In terms of the sides, loved the sweet potato mash and the corn. Didn't like the broccoli the haddock came with. Too soggy :( for my taste. Service was great and for sure would recommend.

Place was clean and not crowded. We asked to be seated outside under the outdoor cover. I got the fish taco ~ its a little messy eating for me but yummy! Only thing was asking for condiments; takes awhile to get it after request for sides.

Nice place for lunch! Our server brought out the wrong soup. The food was pretty good and the atmosphere was nice. We would return.

The lobster and steak ramen were delicious, and so was the fisherman platter. The mangro lemon drop martini was amazing!

Really nice outdoor seating! A lot of selection on the menu. The watermelon sangria and oysters are 👍👍. Unsure of all or any of the seafood is sustainable. Near many shops in the Lynnfield Marketplace complex so parking can be difficult at busy times. Near Lynn Woods - nice place to go for a walk before or after eating! They’ll make items gluten free for you - just ask your server. There is an electric vehicle charging station not too far away (Tesla ones at Lahey Health office and the other kind in the Whole Foods lot - they’re free with the ChargePoint app).

Excellent service & Salad...but drink was kindve bitter. The Expresso martini & it was very cold in building...I was expecting so much more of the menu...who knew they had sushi?? The Salad was Excellent..and large. Have to go back & try something else for sure..I added Lobster to my wedge

Professional staff, nice seating including outdoor seating. The outside seating was great for our kids to move around while we still had a nice meal. Food was decent but a little pricey for what it was.

Met friends here for lunch last week. Everything was very good. Would have given the food five stars but one person had the fried chicken sandwich and it was very greasy. Would not order that again. The mussels, crab cakes, and steamers were excellent.

L

Food always good. Our waitress was clearly burdened with too many tables. She did her best and was pleasant . There were 4 women working at the hostess station. Less greeter and more servers would be beneficial to the customers.

M
Mark Farrell

Very expensive for what you get. Most dishes between $30 and $40 each.

Service wasn’t the best. Didn’t greet us or check in on us. We had to ask a bartender to come over. Service just wasn’t great at the bar, coming from someone who’s in the service industry. They didn’t even engage with us at all unless we called someone over.

We came in for a quick meal. The meal itself was okay, but the Server came out very unprofessional and made our dinning experience awkward, I believe her name was Monica. First and for most she completely interrupted our conversation with one of her fellow coworkers, as she approached the table already cutting her coworker off saying “that’s my table” which was weird and rude because we were chatting and she just cut off the vibes completely. For the price they change I’m pretty sure there should have drink trays. No reason for our glasses to come out, pressed against the server’s chest where our lips touch. After the food arrived the only time we saw her again was for the check. Never got checked on by the server.

This has been one of our go to restaurants. Our last two visits have seen a decline in food quality and service. We were a party of four last week and it was really disappointing. General theme was everything was overcooked! In addition, one of us was delivered the wrong meal. The trout was way over cooked, steak tips were medium well instead of medium rare and my shrimp scampi was also not very good. Pasta was mushy and shrimp were were hard. We probably should have sent it all back, but we were in a hurry. Previous visit similar but we thought it was just a bad night. Guess its a trend. We'll not be back.

Waitress pissy acting. We didn't order alchol. Pointed out that we had paid 10 dollars less the night before for a lobster roll. Disn't know size of burger. She quessed at half a pound. Most was six ounces. Under cooked but she was not there to tell. Asked for mayo and mustard. Received mayo after 10 minutes. Red lobster feal to a 100 meal

Don’t order the tuna burger ! Legal Seafood used to have a great tuna burger, now, it is full of spices and you can’t even taste the tuna . Plus i think this location always offers lower quality food when compared with other Legal Seafood locations. Sorry :(

legal c bar has fresh fish with great presentation, but the execution is not great. i don't like to leave negative reviews, but i have been quite consistently disappointed by the dishes here. i appreciate the creativity, but for the price they are asking, they need to further test recipes before offering them. its also freezing inside the restaurant. however, the staff are wonderful.

If you would like to overpay for overcook, over served grilled (actually seared (borderline burned)) scallops, this is your place. If this was half the price, sure all in, however at the price point, this seams to be the Olive Garden equivalent to your local neighborhood seafood spot.

Service was great and very accommodating. That being said the food is ridiculously overpriced for what I would say is mediocre, at best, food. I got Thai Peanut Salad with Seared Tuna fish. The tuna was grey and lacked any color whatsoever, not seasoned when seared and the Thai salad was just so so bland. The entire entree honestly sucked. We got sushi rolls as well, that again, lacked any real flavor. And for the price that you're gunna pay, $45 for a Thai Salad with Tuna (honestly disgusts me how expensive that was for what I would consider garbage) you might as well go to an actual restaurant. Save your time and money unless you want a baked seafood dish and at that point you can just go anywhere else but here for that. Skip this place, the food is crap, especially for the price.

My boyfriend took me here for birthday dinner. The waitress, while nice, entirely forgot to put in the order for our entrees after we had our appetizers so it took an hour from sitting down to actually getting our main course. She was ready to give us the check until we reminded her what we ordered. The waitress said that the delay getting food was because the kitchen was busy, meanwhile half the tables were empty, so that was obviously not true. When the entrees finally came, my fish and chips was 100% undercooked. I asked the waitress about it, hoping maybe the type of fish used was supposed to look kinda pink/purple. She gasped, grabbed the plate, and ran way without saying anything. She came back 5 minutes later saying the kitchen was making a replacement, but by then, it would’ve been an hour and a half before I’d be able to actually have my meal. I said no thanks. Luckily mine was taken off the tab, but I just feel bad for my boyfriend who wanted to treat me to a nice dinner. The $2 clam chowder was nice though.

Legal Sea Foods used to be a nice place to eat but I am quite disappointed with my last experience. I ordered shrimps with fries and coleslaw and requested the cajun seasoning. The fries were the worse but nothing was really outstanding. No real flavor. I tried to end the meal well with a lemon ice cream, but not only the dessert presentation was lacking but it was more sweet than fruity. I will have a hard time to convince myself to give this restaurant another try…

Very disappointed by the rude service provided by Rachel C this weekend. She was very abrupt and even muttered under her breath "i don't have time for this" as we were trying to finalize our order. She was very slow to refill the soft drink and when I suggested that she should just bring a larger cup or just two cups she snarked that she would have to charge us twice. Just a few examples of poor service. Also, i was disgusted as I saw a mouse run right behind my husband's feet. When I told the fronk desk staff and showed them a picture of the mouse ... they could care less. Needless to say, I would avoid this location at least until they get the mice issue under control.

Clam chowders were very good, Grilled chicken on 2 of our 3 salads were bad tasting ( probably beyond expiration and tasted almost sour ). The server offered something else… chose calamari and tasted funky as well. Done.

For those with food allergies, be wary of ordering over the phone. I called in an order and was explicit about gluten freeand celiac disease. Host must have grabbed the wrong meal because I got glutened. Noticed it seemed like the wrong kind of bun, had assumed/hoped it was something new. Asked the host and they confirmed it wasn't GF. Didn't seem to click for them about how this should be a big deal when taking orders. My receipt said GF but somehow got screwed up still.

This place is horrible!! Food sucks and is under seasoned and over priced. They also add ingredients that are not listed on the menu. But the worst part is the manager. I asked to speak with one simply to get an item fixed and the look of disgust from her was BS and she said she was too busy to come over. Finally a server, not our server, helped out. The manger brought the correction over I said thank you and no your welcome or sorry for the inconvenience. For a manager to be so pathetic is embarrassing as a restaurant. If I was the owner do yourself a favor and fire her now or she will continue to cost you money. Do yourself a favor and eat anywhere else.

I’ve been a Legal Sea Foods customer for decades, but this visit was disappointing. We had a 7:15 pm reservation for 11 people, including one guest who uses a cane. At 7:10 pm, 5 minutes before our reservation, the restaurant called to say seating might be delayed until 8:15 pm, an hour later. When we arrived, the manager emphasized that they had tried to call. When we pointed out that a five-minute warning has no practical value, she repeated 3x that they’d called. A better response would have been to acknowledge the mistake and offer a remedy—such as a comped drink or separate tables. We suggested the latter, which wasn’t ideal but worked. Odd that it was up to us to problem solve. We were seated 20 minutes late at separate tables, which would’ve been ok. It’s disappointing that a restaurant of this caliber couldn’t address a normal delay directly and constructively. A simple acknowledgment of the error would have gone a long way.

Legal is our special occasion go-to. I had booked weeks in advance on Open Table, noting that it was my husband’s birthday and we would like a booth, quiet and out of the way if possible. My husband suffers from hearing loss. When we arrived they told us they didn’t have a booth open and sat us at a table right behind the hostess station and close to the door so every time someone came through the revolving doors, we were hit with a gust of icy wind. There was no acknowledgment for what we were there to celebrate and no attempt made to honor the reservation and we were treated like we just came in off the street without a reservation, which I would understand, take whatever table is available, but we reserved so that the restaurant could plan. It was early in the evening, 6:30, so it wasn’t packed out yet. We weren’t even offered to wait until a better table became available so we shivered through dinner and couldn’t talk to each other due to the noise. My husband had the swordfish which was dry but he didn’t want to complain about it. I got the shrimp with the flavor enhancement that the waiter suggested, chimichuri. A fresh, green herb and garlic sauce. What arrived was grey and tasted sour. The shrimp were so overcooked I had to cut them with my knife and they were like rubber bands in the mouth. He swapped them out for new shrimp with lemon and capers but these shrimp were also very overcooked and the one I cut into hadn’t been deveined. We all know what that “vein” actually is! I’d expect that at a seafood shack but at Legal?! The waiter didn’t check on us after he brought the second plate of inedible shrimp until we were ready to leave. When I explained why I hadn’t touched my dinner, he stated that Legal just changed shrimp vendors and the new shrimp weren’t as good. No visit from the manager and it remained on the bill. No acknowledgment of the special occasion. We love Legal but this was an awful experience and we’ll certainly not go back to this location. If it’s an off night, acknowledge it. Make amends for it. Don’t just expect people to shrug it off and give you another try. An expensive dinner that was not enjoyable on a special occasion - really disappointing!
