Taberna céntrica, muy bien ambientada, con detalles de categoría. La carta de tragos es excelente, al igual que la variedad de whiskies. La comida está muy bien. La atención del personal es para destacar, fueron muy amables en todo momento. Lugar siempre recomendable para tomar una copa con alguna tapa

Fui a Viva Madrid y me encantó. El lugar es precioso, con mucho estilo y una atmósfera muy cuidada. Probé varios cócteles y estaban espectaculares, no solo ricos, sino con sabores originales. Se nota el cariño en cada detalle. Ideal para disfrutar algo diferente en un ambiente especial. ¡Lo súper recomiendo!

Adoro los sitios que promenten algo y lo cumplen. Viva Madrid promete ser una taberna inusual y lo es. Desde que entras a un local maravilloso hasta que te traen los platos. Sabores que no te esperas pero deliciosos en cada una de las cosas que probamos. Si te gusta salir de lo habitual, tienes que ir.

Una chulada de sitio, rollo taberna añeja de Madrid pero arreglada. Es del grupo de Salmón Gurú. Fuimos a mediodía y tomamos 2 cocteles con unas mini hamburguesas y unas empanadas de carne. El chico moreno que nos atendió de 10, rápido y súper agradable Y con el aire acondicionado más frío que vas a ver jamás (en Madrid con 35 grados, era de agradecer 😁) Fueron 23€/persona

Amazing experience (feeling a bit like a speakeasy on the upper inside). The staff was extremely kind, quick food and drink delivery - the skewers are an experience of its own. The whiskey sour was excellent too.

me and my friends visited this bar on our trip to madrid due to its iconic tile design on the front and once we were inside we loved the atmosphere and the attentiveness of our server. when he saw us take pictures he offered to take one of us which is really sweet. the place is beautiful, the drinks are great and reasonably priced. we didn’t try any food but did receive complementary crisps and water alongside our drinks. would recommend for tourists and anyone around! here are some 35mm shots i took inside the place.

This is truly a HIDDEN GEM! One of the few places near the center and it’s not trash. The espresso martinis are amazing, as well as the croquetas, oxtail bao, beef slides and the cheesecake! The ambiance is very chill and cozy for two people or a group in the back. I highly recommend this place!

This place has been in this spot since 1856. We dropped by this place for historical reason: this was the go to place of our country's national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. We ordered quick bites and it did not disappoint. Staff was courteous and quick to bring our orders. Highly recommended.

We weren’t even planning on dining here—it was our first tapas stop in Madrid and just happened to catch our eye on the walk back to the hotel. But what a find! Located in the historic Barrio de las Letras, Viva Madrid blends old-world charm with a vibrant, well-designed interior featuring azulejo tiles and vintage tavern vibes, all while embracing a modern, energetic spirit  . Even though we had just landed and were running on jet lag, the great tapas—and the fact it was so close to our accommodation—made it a perfect spot. We overordered (classic us), but seriously, the mini burgers were a knockout—not typical tapas, but absolutely delicious. The croquettes and calamari were equally excellent. We’d happily stop by again anytime.

This place is simply great! Perfect speak easy but not too quiet and surely you’ll enjiy chatting with your drinking and eating company. From time to time, you’ll be asked how your food is and if you need any more drinks but in a cery friendly way - thanks Oscar. He recommended the croquetas and broccoli which is lovely and must try. All the food we tried didn’t disappoint. I’ve tried a few Gilda’s in San Sebastian and Madrid and this one is definitely on the top of the list. Had a few to make sure 😂 Apart from that, the place was established in the 1800s and was frequented by Jose Rizal, national hero of the Philippines. I wonder how good it was before but its nice to see establishments keep the quality, ambience, and service that will make you frequent the place and enjoy their culinary and mixology handiwork.

What an amazing and pleasant place this is. I came here knowing nothing about Madrid, and boy. Was this a wonderful introduction to such a beautiful city. I was able to not only secure a table but also had many delicious cocktails, and there was enough space to have a chat with family from out of town.

Finally, I had the chance to visit this place, a favorite of one of the Philippine National Heroes, Dr. Jose Rizal, and a spot frequented by Ernest Hemingway, who even wrote here. The food we had was quite good and paired well with the drinks they offered. I just wish the bar incorporated more of its rich history into the menu and perhaps added some stories about its past to the walls, which would make it even more interesting. We enjoyed some wine—Riviera, which had a soft taste, and Madrid, which was stronger, according to their descriptions. Some of the other drinks seemed expensive at EUR 12, but it might be worth trying at least one. For food, we had Gilda Viva Madrid, Taco con carne, and Scallops with ginger—everything was delicious, and I savored every bite. The place offers outdoor, bar, and indoor seating. The indoor area is more suited for eating and drinking, with a great vibe and a perfect spot to hang out with friends. The service was fast and efficient, and we had no issues.

I love this place! The bartenders are super knowledgeable and are happy to share their secrets. It was really an enjoyable place to spend the afternoon. The food was really good and you can tell the care that was used to make it. Highly recommend. Just sit inside, That is where all the personality of the place is. Oscar and Juan Carlos= great time!

He ido dos veces, y las dos he salido muy contenta. Pedimos varias cosas: unas croquetas estilo saam buenísimas (repetimos), ensaladilla rusa ahumada que estaba riquísima, una tortilla de patata (bien) y unos chipirones que estaban ricos. El servicio muy atento y muy simpáticos. El lugar muy especial, como si fuera una taberna antigua. Nos encantó!

Un sitio acogedor genial para tapear y tiene terraza. Buenas cantidades para cenar o comer y tomarse algo. Los camareros simpáticos y los precios están bien.

Such a cute place! The tile inside and out is beautiful. It looks tiny from the front windows but has another section upstairs with high top tables and low tables with comfortable chairs. Along with seating at a second beautiful bar. It’s the first place I’ve found near me that has creative and tasty cocktails (along with beer and wine). It’s got a bit of a speakeasy vibe. I really enjoyed the music playing. Service was great. Super friendly and helpful. We tried a few of the non traditional Spanish items. The chili con carne tacos were quite good. I really liked the cheese sauce (this is a compliment but it reminded me of velveta, very smooth). The arepas were also good. Three to an order. Good combo of slightly crispy arepa with shrimp and crab filling. The buns on the sliders were soft and buttery - yum! The burgers were tender and cooked medium(ish). I wanted a pickle or pickled jalapeños or something to add crunch and spice, but that’s personal preference. Overall a great place for a cocktail and good food options if you’re hungry. And in a beautiful setting.

The place is definitely beautiful, an atmosphere you can not find everywhere. Service is also of very high quality. However, the cocktails were disappointing. For this kind of price (~15e), you definitely expect something more. It was pretty but very average in taste. A pity because the place is very enjoyable otherwise.

Bueno local conocido, por los chicos de la industria y amigos. Acogedor con ambiente tranquilo dias de semana y un buen ambiente fines de semana pero con lo que conlleva. Reseña puesta porque pese a que lo conocemos al local y algunos empleados. Cabe reseñar y recalcar la calidad de su servicio y cocteleria, en el mas sentido común y amable. Pedimos comida papas, mini hamburguesas poco mas.. ( PASABLE). por lo que vale ahi mejores alternativas. Pedimos entre bebidas un old fashon y un Mahattan para de gustar. Cockteles conocidos y de buen gusto. 25 min entre pedido y llegada a mesa. Los cocktel mal balanceados y aguados repito seguramente mejores referencias en cuantoa calidad precio, y zona ahi mejores alternativas, personal un poco desentrado en la atención y mas centrado en el tpv y caja . Todo se puede mejorar reseña totalmente onesta, el sitio muy logrado en cuanto estética. Esperamos volver y cumplir expectativas 🫰

El sitio está limpio y la atención del personal es correcta. Sin embargo, 4,5€ por una caña me parece pasarse de la raya. La zona es interesante, aunque en esa calle en concreto no hay vistas a nada.

The service has become really bad. It used to be one of my favorite bars, I live in the neighborhood. The service is so bad that I don’t even go anymore. All the people who used to work here have left and it’s changed completely. The cocktails have also suffered. They stopped letting people sit in the lounge area unless they are a large group, even if nobody is there in the middle of the day. Everything about the place has become a complete turn off.

I experienced what felt like racial profiling at this restaurant. I waited in line for about 30 minutes, and when it was finally my turn, I was told the place was full, despite having seen two groups leave just moments earlier. While waiting for my friends, I briefly stepped out of the line to call them and explain the situation. During that call, I witnessed a waiter allow a group of Caucasian customers who had been behind me in the queue to enter without hesitation. This was the first time, across all the cities I’ve traveled to, that I felt discriminated against. As we were intentionally visiting places historically frequented by José Rizal, my friends and I decided to wait it out. Eventually, another waiter came to the entrance and allowed us in. Unfortunately, while the atmosphere and overall vibe of the place were pleasant, the service, food, and cocktails were disappointing and ultimately dampened our experience.
