Me gusta mucho este restaurante. Lo conozco desde pequeña. Me traen muchos recuerdos.
Exceptional Service and Authentic Galician Flavors!! If you are looking for an authentic Galician dining experience in Madrid, Casa Gallega is a must-visit. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by an incredibly welcoming staff who made us feel at home immediately. The service was truly excellent attentive, professional, and timed perfectly throughout the evening. The quality of the seafood is exceptional. Location: Just steps away from Plaza Mayor, making it a perfect, high-quality escape from the busier tourist spots.
The food was amazing. I am into coin collecting and the waiter Antonio very kindly showed me some apps and shared his experiences with me. The steak was perfectly seasoned, honestly Gordan Ramsey would be satisfied, that’s how good it was. So if you’re in Spain and you wanna try some authentic delicious Spanish food, casa gallega is the place!
This is my favorite restaurant in Madrid, and I make sure to visit every time I’m in the city. They offer a wide variety of high-quality dishes, from delicious main courses to appetizers that you can order individually to sample a bit of everything. The staff is not only fun and welcoming but also highly knowledgeable about food intolerances. And don’t miss the desserts—they’re always fresh, flavorful, and absolutely worth it!
Chanced upon this well rated Galician restaurant near Plaza Major. And it was one of our best meals in Madrid! The staffs were attentive and paced our dishes well so we could enjoy each course with no rush. We started with the marinated salmon salad which had the cured salmon wrapped around melon. Refreshing, and delightfully different. The grilled baby squid were excellent- tenderly chewy and tasty. Then we had the bamboo /razor clam which was outstandingly good. Lastly we had the bacalau, the cod fillet dish braised with potato slices in olive oil. It was so good 😊
We just finished viewing the Easter Sunday drum performance so looked for lunch. This place was close to the Plaza Mayor and had good reviews. We popped in and went downstairs as it seemed more informal. We ended up at a high table with tall chairs so not the most comfortable but it was the last available when we arrived. The menu looked good and we ended up over ordering, so skipped pretty much all the carbs. Started with white wine and they brought a plate of garlic mayo potatoes which we polished off before the main courses arrived. First dish was a Mediterranean salad with smoked salmon. Surprisingly the salmon was wrapped around cold sweet melon. See the pictures. Tasted good and was a refreshing start to the meal. Then came our grilled squid. That was so good! Squeeze of lemon and it was perfect! We regretted not getting any bread to sop up oil and juices! Then we had a plate of razor clams. We saw the table behind us having it and the waiter noticed and told us that they were out. Only to have another waiter coming by a couple of minutes later to say they had one last order available and do we want it? Immediate yes! And when it came, it was also delicious! Last dish was the bacalao. The cod was perfect cooked and the sauce was drinkable on it's own. We were quite full by then so left most off the potatoes, etc. I had an espresso to end and they brought a couple of digestifs as well. Overall, it was a great meal and my wife and I left planning on when to return for a 2nd round!
My boyfriend and I went here to have dinner and we came out satisfied and wanting to go back again soon. Since it’s a restaurant that specializes in Galician cooking, the prices are reasonable and the food quality? Just splendid. 👌🏼 We really enjoyed the food and the ambience of the place and even recommended it to our friends if they want to experience such decadent cuisine. 🤩🤩
Top restaurant!!! The seafood was delicious. I highly recommend the octopus (pulpo) grilled, the red prawns (gambo roja), and prawn paella. The red sangria was sweet and refreshing. Finally the service was 10/10, friendly and helpful even though we did not speak Spanish - we had dinner about 9:15pm so it wasn’t as busy. Enjoy!
Situated in the heart of Madrid this fabulous restaurant offers an amazing dining experience. Enjoy the pleasure of old style dining and service. It has an excellent menu of both fish and meat and you can also get all kinds of shellfish. We had the marinated salmon with melon and salad and the most amazing dressing with a hint on fennel. The portion was more than enough for two. Followed by fish which was fresh and again portions quite large. We opted for baked Alaska and it was a challenge to finish - following we got some more almond cake and invite from the house along with a small liqueur - we were quite surprised at the bill as it was not expensive for the quality of food we had - a ‘go to ‘ again place
Came on recommendation to this place and was blown away. We ordered the lobster in rice and we both said it was genuinely one of the best things we’ve ever eaten. Made even better by the fact we met the poor lad before they boiled him for us. Service was also one of the best we’ve ever had. Taken very seriously. Attentive, proactive, friendly, funny team of professionals who make the evening so worth the money. 5 stars isn’t enough. Will be coming back hopefully very soon!
What else could be said about Spanish food done right ….. DIVINE. And the food served at Casa Gallega was definitely divine. Despite Madrid being landlocked, the seafood here was still as fresh as those you’d get in the sea-facing cities. Whilst it wasn’t a cheap meal, every Euro spent here was worth it. Haven’t got much else to say but scrumptious and will recommend it over and over again. Will let the pictures do more talking.
The diner was modelled into a fish market type of style. The staff all very friendly and was very patient. They had trouble speaking in English but was very understanding and stopped to listen. The food was spectacular. Fresh seafood and amazing wine. Its a bit pricey but it is a type of fine dining. Would definitely come agai .
We eat here our first night in Madrid because the hotel recommended it. It didn’t disappoint. Their service was great and the food really good. We are thinking of going back before we leave. The seafood Paella was a delicious flavor the croquetas are huge and very good. All their seafood was very fresh. I just wish their ambiance was a little more romantic or more of an intimate feel to it. The lights should not be so bright and they should add some background music.
Very friendly staff with great attitude and service. We made a booking for a large group of 16 and the restaurant were happy to accommodate us with a custom menu so that everyone’s tastes were catered to. The food itself was absolutely incredible. Galician food at its best! Packed full of flavour and cooked to perfection. The prices are good considering the quality of the food you get. Highly recommend this place to anyone in the area.

It was raining and this restaurant was right around the corner from our hotel. They were just a few people since we were not on the Spanish schedule. I speak a little Spanish and both waiters were extremely simpatico. We were new at eating in Spain and ordered too much. We had three appetizers, marinated salmon salad, empanadas and croquetas. All three were very delicious. Unfortunately the entrees were lackluster, not terrible but not great either. My wife had the cod which was a little bit rubbery I had hake in garlic sauce that was actually a little bit bland. We should have just shared one entree because we were too full to finish and had no room for dessert we had some very fine crispy white wine bottom line very good restaurant excellent service I would order different entrees next time
we like the service and the food , we like the service and the food the reserand is quite and very nice we eat very good fish and desert

The lights were on full so no ambience . Service was abrupt and not overly helpful . Food was good but certainly would not recommend with so many better all round experiences in this fabulous city…
No estaban bien limpias (ver foto). Si mi abuela la viera... Gusto bien.
This place was a bit of a letdown. The food is not good for that price and not worth it. I heard good things about this, but it's way too overpriced and we got an oyster that was visible bad, yet we were still served something we had to return. If you want Galician food, just go somewhere else. Service is good, that's the only reason for the 2 stars, without that, it'd have been a 1 star

Not worth the money. expensive for what they are. It all looked like a tourist trap, an apparently traditional and expensive restaurant has food that leaves a lot to be desired.

Our hotel recommended this place after they were unable to get us a reservation into a restaurant our friends recommended. We had high hopes, but unfortunately, it was down hill from the start. We were given a bread and olive basket with glasses of water to start. What they failed to tell us was that we were being charged for the bread. The service was super slow, and the food was not very good for the price. My husband's steak was very rare after he asked for medium/well. My fish was soaked in a paprika based juice which made it too soupy. Fish had too many bones for a filet. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this place to others.
