Comimos de lujo. Sabores auténticos, bien ejecutados y con ese punto mexicano que te hace sonreír antes de darle el primer bocado. Todo estaba en su punto: salsas con carácter, platos generosos y una cocina que se nota que sabe lo que hace. Pero lo mejor fue el trato: cercano, atento y con esa calidez que solo te dan cuando alguien disfruta lo que hace. Nos hicieron sentir como en casa desde que entramos hasta que nos fuimos. Un sitio al que volver sin pensarlo, y un auténtico fichaje si te gusta la comida mexicana de verdad.

Este si que es un mexicano bueno. Pero más que la comida voy a destacar lo bien que se adaptó el servicio a lo que queríamos para que pudiéramos probar todos los platos sin llenarnos. Y por supuesto todo estaba de 10, los tacos de gambas y bistec los mejores. De postres destaco el brownie que es de los mejores que he tomado.

Loved all the tacos! Their pork with pineapple were particularly good. All the staffs were kind and they welcome you with tequila. p.s. shrimp is not the ordinary grilled ones but fried. Enchiladas and ceviche was not my personal fav.

Found it on my way to another place. Had seen it on G maps, recognized the name and went in to eat. Food was tasty, small, but tasty. A little bit too 'fancy' trying to go for the upscale feeling, and that was the only negative. Usually the homey Mexican places are the authentic, this was it but i wish it was a bit more down to earth.

What a surprise. We love Mexican food so even when traveling we seek it out. Our expectations from experience do not let us get overly excited about what we may encounter....lots of unique and not always good concepts for what the world considers "Mexican" food. This was an amazing find! From the modern yet comfortable decor, a vast selection of tequilas and mezcals, and wonderful craft cocktails, to the wonderful food, this is a GREAT Mexican restaurant. I could go on and on, but for the sake of brevity, let me say go experience this unique place. You won't be disappointed. We will return for sure.

What a delightful find! We love Mexican cuisine and tequila and mezcal. Mexcalista is true to its origins but exciting in its interpretation. We loved the flavours of the food and it was great value - beware of the high-price imposters! Our host mixed some great cocktails and recommended some worthy house-favourite tequilas. And there was homemade sangrita 👏🏻. A wonderful change from tapas.

Quality ingredients thoughtfully prepared and served with professionalism. I especially enjoyed the guacamole, the pastor tacos, and the Mexcalista cocktail. The spice levels were toned down compared to what we’re used to on the west coast of the USA, but the meal was thoroughly enjoyable.

I can't say enough about this place. The food was just phenomenal. It filled our bellies and our souls. The authentic Mexican food was matched by its awesome and genuinely kind staff. We ate several times here throughout our stay because we wanted to try as much of their menu as we could. If you're in the area I highly recommend you try them out. The food will either prepare you for your long tourist activities ahead or wrap up your long and exhausted day with some comforting food and beverages. I can't wait to go back!

Really yummy, high quality Mexican in a cute space and the service is amazing too. We took all of our server’s recommendations and everything was super delicious. Loved the chipotle and other hot sauce that came with the food too, gave me my chili fix. The margaritas are also strong and worth having. Would definitely come here regularly if we lived in Madrid. Make sure you get the aqua chili and the enchiladas those were my favourites.

Sorprendente sitio en el centro de Madrid. Pagamos casi 50€ y fue todo compartido...considero que aunque gran parte de la cuenta era bebida, pagas bastante para la cantidad de bebida y lo que bebes. La comida estaba muy rica eso sí!! La atención fue inmejorable.

Pedimos unos tacos al pastor impresionantes y unos panuchos de cochinita. La cochinita sabía a Yucatán!! Una auténtica joya! Las salsas eran magníficas con auténtico sabor de México. El único pero es el precio, 10 euros por dos tacos y 14 euros por los panuchos es realmente excesivo.

La decoración y el sitio muy bonitos, un ambiente agradable. La comida muy rica, y los camareros muy agradables, me encantó el tequila frozen. Sinceramente no le pongo 5 estrellas simplemente por el precio, algo desorbitado a mi parecer, pero en general, todo estupendo.

Las porciones pequeñas para el precio, el aguachile no pica y los camarones estaban bastante cocidos, la ración pequeña y cara. Los panochos estaban buenos pero diminutos. El local es bonito y el servicio correcto pero es el típico sitio para guiris. No volvería

Algunos platos estaban ricos, otros un poco menos. Pedimos las enchiladas que estaban recomendadas pero no tenían casi sabor. De postre pedimos la tarta tres leches pero estaba cubierta de medio kilo de canela, como no me gusta la canela pues fue casi imposible comerla. Los tacos de bistec y de camarón estaban ricos, y el servicio estuvo bien, pero no repetiría después de los 2 platos malos. Además, es un poco caro.

Ubicado en pleno centro de Madrid, Mexcalista es un restaurante mexicano al que conviene llegar en transporte público, ya que aparcar en la zona es prácticamente imposible. Si se planea ir en fin de semana, es muy recomendable reservar con antelación. El local es pequeño pero está bien ambientado, con una decoración que transmite un toque mexicano agradable. Sin embargo, el aire acondicionado brillaba por su ausencia y la temperatura resultó incómoda durante la cena. A pesar de haber mesas bajas libres, nos asignaron una mesa alta y pequeña, más apropiada para tomar un cóctel que para cenar. Al llegar, nos ofrecieron un chupito de margarita de cortesía. El personal fue amable y atento, aunque con cierta insistencia en que se pidieran más consumiciones. En cuanto a la comida, la experiencia fue decepcionante. Los nachos resultaron poco sabrosos, los tacos de bistec eran muy pequeños, algo secos y con trozos de carne excesivamente grandes. La quesadilla gringa sorprendió negativamente por su tamaño —similar al de un taco— y la enchilada suiza pasó sin destacar en sabor. En general, las raciones fueron pequeñas y con un sabor poco memorable. En conclusión, Mexcalista parece estar más orientado a tomar cócteles y bebidas que a disfrutar de una buena comida mexicana. Ideal para ir a charlar y beber algo, pero no para una cena completa si lo que se busca es sabor y cantidad.

Un rincón mexicano dentro del mercado madrileño, con propuesta interesante pero que deja sensaciones encontradas. La comida está rica, sí, pero el gran problema es el precio desorbitado para la cantidad de lo que sirven. Lo que pedimos: • Nachos: correctos, pero en ración muy justa. • Sopecitos: sabrosos, aunque demasiado pequeños. • Aguachile: fresco, con sabor auténtico, pero escaso. • Ceviche: bien elaborado, aunque de nuevo muy corto en cantidad. • Gringa: jugosa y con buen sabor, quizás lo más destacable de la comanda. Precio muy por encima de lo que correspondería a las raciones, nos sorprendió teniendo en cuenta que la calidad de esta cocina se consigue en otros locales en Madrid por mejor precio. En resumen, una experiencia con sabor mexicano bien logrado, pero que no compensa por el desequilibrio entre precio y cantidad.

Restaurante pequeñito, aunque al fondo tiene otra sala. Te reciben con un chupito de margarita muy rico. La atención genial, te orientan que pedir en función a como son las raciones 👌 La comida en general rica, aunque raciones algo escasas, sobretodo el ceviche de camarón, (aunque nos lo advirtieron). Los tacos de camarón muy recargados de mayonesa, sin embargo los nachos estaban increíbles. Tienen especialidad en destilados mejicanos con certificación. Recomendable reservar.
