Loved everything. The only issue in Spain (and also in Greece) is the service is rushed. Don’t order your complete meal at once, if you plan spend long time at the table. Scallops and especially ceviche were great. Completely ok to ask half portion or to split one portion into two.

Fantastic restaurant with delicious Spanish food from seafood to salads and from bao buns to rabbit ribs. Worth mentioning, they have multiple excellent vegetarian dishes on their menu, which is not always the case in the local restaurants. They have a fantastic wine list if you are interested, but you'll not be disappointed with the house wines. The lively bar is a fun place to have lunch, but on busy days like Saturdays you should come early to have space. If you want to sit at a table, you should make a reservation. Taberna Laredo is one of our absolute favorites in Madrid.

Very well impressed overall. Although I didn’t have reservations they accommodate us after some wait. They have an excellent selections of wines, all of them curated properly. Menu is extensive but everything I tried was very tasty. I recommend the deep fried rabbit ribs, the pan Cristal with tomato, and for dessert the torrijas which were fantastic Definitely will come back to Laredo

In a city with so many places where one can eat well, Taberna Laredo is a standout not just because of the delicious food but because of the atmosphere and great staff. The jamón with pan de cristal is my favorite in all of Spain, they do a great job keeping the bread crispy while topped with good olive oil, tomatoes and sea salt. Try the torta árabe for a light and satisfying dessert and the asparagus and tomato salad, it may not sound like it’s anything special but at Laredo it really is!

The restaurant has two separate sections, right after the entrance there is a bar area with high tables, and there is a seating space after the stairs. The upper side was quieter since the lower floor was full when I got there. I ordered croquettes (half portion, 4 pieces), entrecote and a cheesecake (called tarta de queso in Spanish). I was offered an amuse bouche type of a starter consisting of mortadella with pesto. The croquettes were delicious, outside was crispy but not crunchy, stuffing was well seasoned and creamy. Although they were deep fried, they were not greasy. Good technique. Steak was also delicious, the only downside would be the fat distribution, the fat in my cut could have been more evenly distributed. But still prime cut and good cooking. I picked salad as a side and loved it since it was very well prepared, seasoned and mixed. Simple but delicious. The last dish was the cheesecake. Again very delicious and very well balanced. Their touch was to create a crunchy sugar layer on top like a crème brulé. It wasn't runny like a San Sebastian cheesecake. Overall it was a pleasant experience.

Very atmospheric place, a lot of people are sitting there with the tapas and glass of vine or beer (excellent one). The dinner is started at 8pm. Very fresh products and good tastes. Some dishes was a little bit oily, but in general everything was good. Definitely should go there if you would like to explore Spanish cuisine.

We had our most delicious meal in Madrid here! We ordered tomato salad with cheese and basil, rice dish of the day and deep fried rabbit. Everything was very well cooked. The rice dish had a little Asian twist, which was different from anything we had eaten in Spain. But the rabbit, we became fans immediately! Crispy from the outside, crunchy in the inside and very well seasoned. Good to go with red wine as snacks. We would definitely come back here in our next trip to Madrid

Primera visita a esta taberna. Fuimos con amigos y nos decantamos por probar las Chile tiras de conejo (plato clásico y obligado del restaurante), junto con gildas, calamar de pota, torreznos y pulseras. De postre, la tarta Laredo y torrija. En general, la comida bastante bien de sabor y cantidad. Los postres nos decepcionaron un poco (no nos conquistaron los sabores). Todo acompañado de tres botellas de vino. El Vino tiene un precio un 30% por encima de otros lugares similares de la misma calle. El resto, todo bien, buena relación calidad-precio. Went on a recommendation. Our starter, anchovy with tomato and burrata, was just OK - missing some taste. The tortilla with artichoke and the steak tartar were nice, and the rabbit ribs were excellent. The service seemed a bit challenged. They were responsive when we flagged them, but not attentive and missing some basic skills, especially for a higher-end restaurant, such as refilling our wine/water, taking away the menus after we ordered, etc. My wife (who speaks fluent Spanish) asked a waitress about a menu item; the waitress couldn’t describe it, nor offered to find out what it is. Further, we each ordered a main plate (not shared), and they brought out one at a time (intentionally; weren’t planning on firing the 2nd one until the first was served). When we pointed out they were individual plates, there was complete confusion and we decided to let it be). Hopefully, this was just an unusual night and not the norm. I would return, but probably just stick with the bar (if I can find room - very popular).

Frankly it was mid. Cute meal and good effort but just mid. Nori tempura scallops - felt that the scalloped weren’t aburied enough. Overall liked this, but middle of the scallop got quite plain. Rabbit ribs, nicely spiced but too salty. Spice also got a little stale after a while, would be better if it was more oily. For rabbit eaters who are familiar with Asian rabbit dishes, this came across as really gamey. The spices didn’t really cover the stench of the meat as well as the spices I’m used to. Still a reasonable dish tho. Artichoke omelette was disappointing. Was not salted enough and the artichoke was so dry we couldn’t taste that delish artichoke flavour sadly!

I rarely write reviews, but our experience at this place on September 27th was simply DISASTROUS. It was so bad that it actually made me take the time to write this. We were recommended this place while looking for a bar-like atmosphere with tables, since we were gathering several friends who were all coinciding in Madrid just that one afternoon, 20 to 30 years of friendship that deserved a special reunion. Big mistake choosing Taberna Laredo. At first, we were welcomed kindly and the staff seemed cooperative. However, for reasons we could neither understand nor make sense of and which their explanations did not justify, they suddenly stopped serving drinks (of any kind) and food (which wasn’t even our priority). Their excuse was that the system “couldn’t open more tabs” (there were only four official ones open). In other words, even if someone wanted to order a simple beer at the bar and pay for it right away, they were denied. Important to note: we are all 53+ years old, responsible people, with no inappropriate behavior. Our only intention was to meet, talk, and of course, spend money and pay for any service requested. The staff’s response was simply: “NO. And if you don’t like it, you can leave.” Both the manager and especially the bar and floor staff were extremely rude, unprofessional, impolite, argumentative, and disrespectful, even making multiple clearly racist remarks. (To be clear again, we are all professionals, educated, with no other intention than to enjoy and pay for what we consumed.) In conclusion: the worst review possible for this place. Everything was unacceptable. Enough said — and more than enough reason NEVER to return.

Terrible service. 👎 The worst xenophobic experience we ever had. We were kicked out for making too much noise. We were a large group of older couples, and after having ordered plenty of food and drinks, we were kicked out with a bad attitude, bad language and insults. Will never return.
