Después de subir hasta la Alcazaba y después al Castillo, necesitábamos recargar energía. Nos hablaron de este sitio y nos fuimos para allá. Riquísimo todo y, aunque estaba lleno y llegamos tarde, nos atendieron super rápido. Genial.

Muy buen sitio para comer tranquilo, la comida está muy buena, sobre todo su ensaladilla rusa, croquetas, la tosta de salmon, la tarta de limón... la camarera que nos atendió era muy simpática, estuvo todo el rato pendiente de nosotras, incluso con las estufas de la terraza muchas gracias, no pudimos estar mejor gracias a tí. We came here because we couldn't find a reservation at the other one and i m glad for it because this one is even better. Everything we ate was super delicious but the confit calamar with bayleaf was another level, we couldnt get enough of it. The atmosphere is very nice and cozy, and the staff is very kind and friendly.

The food was okay, my favorite would be the gamba blanca because it was so fresh and salty! The salad was also good, I enjoyed it as my first meal in Malaga. The rest you could give a try but it’s just plain okay. What made it special is the service! The servers were friendly and very well-detailed. They would give recommendations and told us if the portion is too much or not so we don’t over-order. Very well!

Had a very good meal with my family. This classic restaurant is across the Cathedral. We had the house special ensaladilla and grilled shrimp to start. The shrimp were the best I’ve had. For mains we had the spicy tuna, entrecot and bacalao. All were phenomenal. Service was great until the end where it took quite a while to get the check and to be able to pay. Recommend making a reservation.

My favourite restaurant when I have to stay in Malaga. They have great menu a la carte but every day you may also choose from fresh catch from the sea. I can't say how thankful I am to one of the waiters (I believe he is called Daniel) for helping me every day with choosing my meals. But all team do the job, really. It was a time when there was a problem with English menu (it is fixed now) and they were patiently explaining menu to me. Few times he actually asks chef to make small changes in a meal to suit my taste more. Seafood is done with full respect of its delicate taste - never overspiced or overcooked. The only problem is that I like this place so much that I barely know other restaurants in Malaga. But what can I do? I find here great food, professional service, cleanliness and great service. Every visit is a surprise as every day they celebrate new food which was proposed to them by local producers so it creates new dishes outside of main menu.

We loved the food, service and ambiance. One of the top places we have tried in Malaga. Ensaladilla rusa and croquetas are just like my mom used to make. Grilled Gambas over a salt bed amazing too. The milhojas was also really good. Mostly business people and locals. + food, ensaladilla, croquetas and milhojas amazing!!! + good sevice, even when it was busy. + good quality, but yes you pay for it. + good price quality ratio. +/- the cod was great, not amazing - could not find a negative.

We've come here several times and it might be one of the restaurants in malaga were you won't be wrong. "Ensaladilla rusa" won a few prizes, so don't miss it. Very interesting way to make a cheesecake. The tuna tartar was the nicest. Staff is so welcoming and helpful specially Daniel. Cheers. Enjoy it!

Excellent. Starting from the service until the food. Everything was delicious. The terrace has a nice view on the cathedral so i do recommend to sit outside. The tuna was amazing (they get it from one of the best tuna place in the world). Price quality was great.

Don't forget to make a reservation as the restaurant can get really full at times - but it's definitely worth it! The Ensalada Rusa is the best I've ever had, same goes for their Salmorejo. Imprescindible su ensaladilla rusa, buenas gambas cristal fritas con huevo y ensalada de pimientos, bacalao con escalibada muy sabroso, tartar de atún picante (demasiada salsa de soja), pulpo asado y muy buena mano con las carnes, el solomillo estaba muy tierno y en su punto perfecto. Perfecto, calidad de los platos espectacular, en especial ensaladilla rusa y gambas cristal. Ambos platos no se deben dejar de comer. Restaurante moderno, en pleno centro de Malaga. Fuimos mi pareja y yo a probar la ensaladilla (tiene buena fama). Era fin de semana y no temíamos reserva, pero nos pudieron ubicar rápidamente. Pedimos solo la ensaladilla, pero Victor nos recomendó la tostada de atún con mayonesa trufada, y la verdad que todo un acierto. Recomendable tanto la ensaladilla como la tostada de atún. El personal muy atento y la comida muy buena. Especial mención a Victor por la amabilidad.

Imprescindible su ensaladilla rusa, con mayonesa casera potentísima y ración abundante. Muy recomendables también todos sus platos con atún, de primera calidad en su materia prima. El precio es más alto que el de otros lugares similares, pero sigue siendo justo. Mi única crítica serían las mesas altas, excesivamente elevadas para los taburetes de que disponen, lo que lo hace un poco incómodo al comer.

Estamos comiendo desde hace varios años. Bueno, viniendo a este restaurante mejor dicho. En verdad se come bien aunque hoy nos pedimos un par de solomillos al punto y hay otros sitios mejores para el precio que piden aquí. Pero en general bastante bien. Sus torreznos son ricos, la chistorra, la ensaladilla, y sus gambas también. Volveremos aquí aunque no pediremos más solomillos.

Overall a really good experience. Excellent service from our waiter, great ambience and a well curated wine list. The food was mostly good, with one big fail. Our medium steak was half raw, not rare, but actually raw. We got it redone, but really should have been checked in the kitchen.

Fuimos un grupo de ocho personas y pedimos para compartir en dos grupos. La ensaladilla rusa la venden como plato estrella, para nosotros son más, son patatas a cuadros grandes con mahonesa... Nos pusimos tres medias raciones unificadas en un plato, salmonetes (muy buenos), rosada en adobo (casi sin sabor, no nos gustó) y boquerón (pequeños, sin más). El calamar a la plancha estaba buenísimo, nos encantó. Yo pedí un postre para mí, de hojaldre con nata y crema que estaba delicioso. El resto pidieron un surtido que a mi gusto al unificarlos venía mucha menos cantidad. Se tiene que reservar previamente porque se llena

We came to the Refectorium with high expectations that were not unfortunately met. First, the staff kept trying to get us to change our order from the things we wanted. And then they pushed us to buy an off menu John Dory which was ultimately under seasoned, needed lemon or a bit of butter, and then cost £100! The waiting staff also kept taking plates away before we had finished them! What a shame. For the money and hype, it wasn't worth it

2nd visit. The process when waiting for tables is flawed, it is clear there was no process, as we put our name down on a waiting list for inside and were told to return in 25 minutes. Arriving back 20 minutes later, we were told there was no list. Approximately 30 minutes later we were found a table after standing out in the cold. I was really annoyed, but my Spanish wasn't good enough to complain effectively. One of the servers was very focused (I thanked her personally at the end) our waiter was also good. Food was worth experiencing, & great atmosphere also. I'm not saying don't go, I'm just saying that they need a process & I suspect 1 or 2 serving staff are carrying the rest which is a shame. Avoid when it looks overwhelmingly busy. I hope this review helps the owners to do better, which I'm sure will increase their profits long term.

We have eaten at El. Refectorium several times in both restaurants . This was really disappointing. The waiter was rude, visibly impatient. The meal was not the normal quality we've come to expect and received at other visits. The Lubina was over cooked. The pulpo was badly presented and very meagre. All in all not a good experience.

Good food, unfortunately the rest of he experience was poor! Main meals came fine, then pretty much ignored by staff. Not asked if would like dessert or more drinks, they seemed much more interest…

No puedo opinar de la calidad de la comida, porque no me dejaron comer después de tener una mesa reservada con un mes de antelación. Lamentable se queda corto para definir el trato del personal hacia el cliente. Llegamos 10 minutos antes de las 21:30, que era la hora de nuestra reserva, en ese momento nos comunican, con un aire de soberbia que se palpa a 200 m a la redonda, que hemos llamado para cancelar la reserva esa misma tarde (la primera mentira), nos dicen que nuestra reserva era para 3 (segunda mentira), éramos 6, y nos enseña nuestra reserva en su libro con el 3 tachado sobre el 6. Me dedico hace muchos años a la hostelería y puedo entender que una reserva se pierda en el camino, lo que no se puede tolerar es el trato deplorable por parte del personal, especialmente la señora rubia con aires de grandeza, la cual nos ha gritado, hablado de muy mala manera y por si fuera poca la faena, se ha negado a darnos la hoja de reclamaciones, se ve que la legalidad no la tienen muy al día. En fin, si tenéis ganas de que os griten en un comedor lleno de gente cenando, os miren por encima del hombro, os dejen de mentirosos en vuestra cara, y os dejen sin cenar, este es vuestro sitio.

Prices are extremely and unreasonably high. You will be charged for things that you normally are not and did not order, like the small bread beside the salad dish. They charged us 4 euros for 2 super small pieces of bread. Also, because of misunderstanding of the waitress, we had to pay for an extra dish that we did not want. Overall, the place is beautiful but I wouldn’t recommend.
