La Muerta Taqueria

Found La Muerta Taqueria by accident while stopping in Marfa for groceries on our way to Big Bend NP, and this unassuming taqueria was such a surprise! We each tried 3 of the 4 offered tacos, and each had their own beautiful personalized tortillas with unbelievably complex flavor combinations. My personal favorite was the chicken mole, but their vegetarian -friendly prickly pear option was a very tasty second! The tacos did take several minutes to make, but with only two staff members behind the counter delicately hand-making each taco, this was not a problem for us, particularly with how flavorful each menu item was! Can’t wait for our next trip to Marfa to come back!

Music playlist is great, food is even better. The aloha taco was one of the best I’ve had in years. So many delicious flavors wrapped up in a beautiful tortilla. Highly recommend stopping by.

A little walk up food stand that was unexpectedly the best tacos I’ve had. We got one of each taco (4 options) and neither was the wrong choice to order! Hands down the best corn tortillas I’ve ever had too, and the little spice to each taco was perfect. Bonus: one of the only places open on a Monday after 6pm. Bring a jacket if it’s chilly after dark because there is only outdoor seating!
