Camper is an incredible spot to grab a bite. The food that they serve is both comforting and exciting. Unique flavor combinations, but prepared in a way that feels like a family’s home cooked meal. I came here to celebrate a special occasion with work colleagues, so I got to try a lot of different food, and I have to say, almost everything was fantastic. The only dishes I wasn’t fond of were more geared towards vegetarians. Either way, I’d highly recommend this place if you want to have something a bit more elevated for a special occasion.
Very, very happy camper here. I don't usually write restaurant reviews, but my experience at Camper last night was so outstanding that I had to share. From start to finish, the service was impeccable—attentive without being overbearing. Every time Logan came over to our table we were laughing or being validated about how good our order was. As for the food, every dish was a knockout. The crab spaghetti was fresh and perfectly balanced, the celery soup was surprisingly hearty and flavorful, and the squash agnolotti was unbelievably delicious. It’s rare to find a spot where the atmosphere, service, and kitchen are all performing at such a high level. Book yourself a table soon!
Good selection of whiskies to start the evening out sitting at the counter. We just walked in without a reservation but there were seats at the bar for us. Mixed drinks were creative also. The cornbread was individually cooked in a pan and had a nice crust to it. We also needed the comte tortellini which was interesting with celery and celery root in more of a broth than a traditional sauce. Mush less heavy. Also had the strip steak served with bok choy and potatoes. Steak was perfectly cooked and was plated very appitizingly.
Camper is one of those rare places where everything just feels right, the food, the atmosphere, the people. Each dish is made with intention and care, and it shows. It’s the kind of restaurant that makes you slow down, enjoy the moment, and feel genuinely nourished. I can’t believe it took me three years to discover it, but it already feels like a favorite for my whole family!
For something different and a great evening, Check out Camper. The food was unusual but delicious, well prepared and presented. The service from 3 people we interacted with was friendly but not overbearing. We are definitely coming back to try some more of their options. The outdoor seating was really pleasant.
Sat outside ,space heaters and lightening made the ambience great. deviled eggs, crab spaghetti, corn ravioli and smores dessert were all fantastic.
The food was so good here! We got the oysters (wow - some of the best I’ve had), the squid salad which was perfect and the potato crusted halibut. The staff was so friendly and attentive too. We were seated in the back room which wasn’t the best - try to get a seat in the main room where the ambiance is much better. Dessert (milk jam pudding) was just ok. I’m excited to go back in a few months!
I am blown away. The crab spaghetti was very pleasant, with a light tomato sauce, fried garlic, and squash. It was perfection. The flavors of the corn agnolotti transcended anything my taste buds have ever experienced, and the textures were unparalleled. Milk jam pudding was also divine!!!
Went on a brunch date with the bestie to celebrate our birthdays and Mother’s Day. Our server was so kind, generous, and empathetic. We had the eggs Benedict (incredible!), the french toast, and the early riser with coffee and an apple cinnamon roll on the side (not pictured bc we ate it too fast!). While it was pricier than our usual hang, it was definitely worth it! I will definitely be going again!
Food and service were excellent at this global inspired fresh gourmet spot in Menlo Park. Met Chef Marcus while he served his creations at a Secret Sea Cove dinner by Outstanding in the Field and decided to visit his local spot. The menu is a curated selection of traditional European and Asian dishes constructed with fresh local produce and served with a twist that exhibits the chef's personality. Who can ever say no to fresh handmade pasta, coastal seafood, and produce from local farms? I highly encourage you to sample their various dishes if you are in the area.
Food here was super yummy, I absolutely loved the butter that came with the bread. I don’t know what ingredients they use, but it has a tinge of sweetness to it and is honestly amazing. The pasta dishes are also very nicely done, not an overwhelming amount of carbs with the perfect amount of protein and veggie. My only complaint is that the dessert was a tad ambitious, I liked that the chief is willing to experiment, but I wouldn’t recommend the mochi strawberry dessert.
We had a great experience at Camper! We decided to go out on a whim and are so glad we tried this place. We will definitely be coming back and making it a go to date night. The chicken was delicious and had so much flavor. The rigatoni was simple but had the perfect amount of flavor combinations. Highly recommend!!
This place was a pleasant little surprise that we bumped into while browsing for new dinner places. It's in a nice locale in Menlo Park and has a good ambience. Service is quick and efficient, and friendly. Food came out quicker and tasted great. The menu is small but fills you up and caters to a wide variety of taste options... the food turned out to be unique as well (eg.,the Burrata was a good surprise and I have never tasted one like that in any other restaurants I have been to). The drinks were great too. I definitely recommend this place for a unique and fairly quick dinner experience.

To all the real ones who know--Camper's brunch is BACK, and I couldn't be happier! This downtown Menlo Park staple is serving up more chances to enjoy their incredible food, and trust me, it's worth it. There isn't a lot of brunch photos for camper online so allow me to feed your eyes with the me documenting our satisfying brunch. Came hungry and majorly craving carbs, so my girl friend and I went all in--Logan's Orange + Currant Scones for her, Challah French toast for me. Her scones? Warm. Flaky--paired with fresh butter that gave such a buttery finish to every bite. She wasn't super hungry, so the "on the side" menu was perfect. Love that they offer that option. Me on the other hand? I was ravenous. LET ME TELL YOU--the Challah French toast was life-changing. A thick, buttery slab of challah, cooked perfectly, ridiculously satisfying to cut and bite into, and topped with macadamia nut butter that added just the right nuttiness and umami. I can't even describe in words how good it was, no words would do it justice, you'd have to try it for yourself. Shoutout to our server and the kitchen for the amazing service and accommodating my request to swap the apples for strawberries. I'm 100% sure those apples would've been amazing, but sadly, my gut does not agree. Thought I'd still be starving, but that French toast was actually the perfect level of satisfying. Took my chicken apple sausages for family to enjoy; I'm already dreaming of my next French toast bite. Service? A+. Ambiance? Perfect for a girly brunch. Plus, downtown Menlo Park has easy parking (a rare win for downtowns) and is just 8 minutes from Palo Alto Shopping Center if you want to make a day of it. TL;DR: Brunch at Camper is back! Please make a reservation on OpenTable and enjoy a nice brunch solo or with someone. Get the French toast. Thank me later.
We are huge fans of Camper, Chef Greg and his team. We try to visit at least once a month and would come more often if we could. The pastas are handmade and on the par of Flour and Water but on the Peninsula! Their salads are always amazing, their starters are a wide ranging journey across Californian-Spanish-Italian-and beyond but all are delish. The burger is solid and their fish mains are always on POINT! Their cocktail game is top notch and some of the best in the Peninsula compared to any bar or restaurant. And their Milkjam Pudding is top 5 desserts I’ve had…simple, luscious and balanced! My only suggestion for the team is that their oysters (always DELISH) could be just a touch colder on delivery. Other than that, this place is top 4 Peninsula restaurants with Vesta, Che Fico, and Hurrica being right up there! I highly recommend a visit if you haven't been.
We had a really great dinner at Camper. Everything tasted so fresh and honestly just really delicious. We started with the squid salad, and it was so fresh and flavorful. Then we got the mushrooms and grits on the side. Both were amazing, and the grits were the perfect cozy pairing with the rest of the food. I ordered the rigatoni and even though I was already super full, I literally couldn’t stop eating it because it was that good. The vibe is really laid back, and our server was super chill and nice, attentive but not overbearing. Overall, just a super yummy, feel-good meal. I’d definitely come back.
Camper offers thoughtfully made dishes with high-quality ingredients in a relaxed setting. The food is consistently good, though the menu can be limited at times. Still, the service and overall atmosphere make it a solid choice for a satisfying dining experience.

This review is for Camper's private dining services. We hosted our wedding reception at Camper, and it was absolutely perfect. From the very beginning, Logan was awesome to work with as she always communicated promptly with us (and we had a huge amount of questions!). She made sure everything was exactly as we wanted, from the layout of the reception space to the timing of the night, to the food and drink options and menus. On the night of the reception, the Camper staff went above and beyond. We had multiple people taking drink orders, serving food, and making sure our guests were well taken care of. The service was seamless, the food was outstanding, and the whole evening flowed beautifully thanks to their team. We got so many compliments from people saying how much they loved the reception dinner. I can’t recommend Camper’s private dining enough for anyone planning a wedding reception or any other big dinner. They truly made our celebration unforgettable.
Hope neighborhood restaurant. Has a nice big bar with seating. Two rooms at the back that are good for private parties. We had the sour dough Brea and the corn bread and the Burrata salad as appetizers. Those days when we got free bread on the table are gone. We shared the Halibut and Wagyu Burger. And S’mores for desert. Sonia our server was very good.
I would say 4.5/5. This was my first time at a "Californian" style restaurant. All of the individual ingredients in each dish are apparent and things were seasoned simply and seemed to be very literal. I didn't personally care for every flavor that I had, but could still appreciate the quality of the food/ingredients and the preparation. The staff was above average in competencey and friendliness. The wine list was solidly good, but not great. The cocktails that we tried were creative and tasty.

The service and the atmosphere were really good. The food unfortunately wasn’t. The burger was just okay, nothing special while you expect something for the price at such a place. The meat doneness level was not consistent across two burgers we ordered. The chips were just incredibly salty. My mouth was dry for the rest of the day and I almost felt like I had it burnt. The chips were salted fine in other places I’ve been to in California so it’s definitely not just my palate. The garlicky mayo sauce was good, the tomato sauce was not to my taste. I don’t want to be back overall
My experience at camper was okay. I think I was a bit underwhelmed since everything was just okay. The cornbread was done well and so was the halibut fillet, but it wasn't super interesting so I'm not sure I would go back. I also thought the paper menus with random drink stains and wrinkles were a bit odd given the otherwise nice ambiance. Service was pretty decent though the food takes a bit to come out. Overall, well executed preparation but the food flavors were just average. They have a very cute apple dessert!

It was our first time at this restaurant. We had French toast and duck confit (it was duck hash). My son said it was the best French toast he ever had. I agree. The duck confit was good too. Our server was very nice. We chatted about her "brunch philosophy". 2025 Sept update: the food quality went downhill dramatically last couple times. We are not going there again.

Disaster in Menlo Park. Reservation for 7:15 PM. We arrive on time. We are told our table will be ready soon. 7:30 PM. No progress. Asking the manager and the hostess what’s up, no serious answer. 7:40 PM. Nothing. Asking sarcastically the manager if it will take another half hour. The answer is “will take less than that for sure”. I am not joking. Surreal. 25 mins after our reservation time, with no idea when we will get our table, we walk out. Total lack of respect for customers. Total incompetence for overbooking the place. Total lack of understanding that no one is doing us a favor by providing a table at the time we reserved a few days ago. Quite a few choices in Menlo Park and Palo Alto for dinner Saturday night. This is not one of them. Just wanted to go out and have a good time. Didn’t happen. Avoid like the pest.
