I’ve had Salt & Straw twice in San Francisco and thought I’d satisfied the craving, I’m glad I didn’t skip it here. The Honey Lavender ice cream was something else. It’s not your usual flavor—it’s herby, calming, and refreshing in a way that reminded me of a spa experience. Hard to describe really, but unforgettable. It’s the kind of flavor you’ll unexpectedly miss once you're back home. A must-try if you're looking for something a bit different and honestly, a bit magical.

One of the best Ice Cream joints in Palo Alto. The choice of flavors and taste of the ice cream was out of this world. They freshly baked the cones at the store. Please don't miss visiting when you are here.

A lovely and lively joint for super tasty ice creams. People wait in Q to taste and buy the ice cream. They have advertised that we can taste all the ice cream before we buy what we want. The flavour which I loved was “Strawberry honey balsamic with white pepper”. Highly recommended.

Salt & Straw is an extremely unique ice cream shop. They have so many wacky flavors to choose from on any given day. They also are super friendly, and more than happy to let you sample whatever you’d like. They even use fancy metal sample spoons. It’s not just their wacky flavor options that makes it great, but also the quality of the ice cream is top notch. Oh, and you can skip the line (which there probably will be one) if you just want to swing by and grab a pint.

I got their ice cream cookbook as a gift so I had to check out the store. Their ice cream flavors are so unique, setting them clearly apart from other shops. Not only that, they are very inventive with the way they put additives into the ice cream. I got the Toasted Oat Milk and Cookies ice cream, which tasted like they melted a warm cookie on top of toasty oat milk ice cream, and didn’t just add cookie chunks in like everyone else. Their unique flavors for January are all vegan, and honestly you can’t even tell! My sister had a hard time choosing what she wanted, so after going through several samples, she said “Surprise me!”. The scooper we had was very patient and enjoyed the challenge of making her a creation she could enjoy. Definitely go here and take a pint home with you too!

Appreciate the vegan ice cream options, though there could be more. There are two vegan flavors on the menu, and one seasonal vegan flavor. Got the freckled mint chip which was delicious. Store is nice and clean, and you can try as many flavors as you like.

Great unique olive oil flavour. Mismatch of scoop to empty cone size though. For me, this detracted from eating the last 1/3. The value of this place is on par with other ice creameries. Selection of flavours is decent! I tried a few and honestly, this was the only one that stood out to me.

It’s decent they have a very interesting menu. Line was out the door and took ~15 min. The ice cream itself was pretty good I just didn’t particularly like the one I got (cookie dough - there was too much chocolate sauce and not enough cookie dough).

I was there earlier around 5 Place is nice and smells amazing BUT the ice cream is not even woth it at all. The flavors aren't even good Also i don't like to leave bad word on employees but the lady helping me was being very unprofessional constantly laughing and getting distracted by the male next to her I had to repeat myself a couple times a nice girl but can tell she doesn't take her job serious had a hat on. Definitely won't be coming back here.

I’m not the type of person to write bad reviews, but I’m honestly so disappointed. I was there tonight around 10:15 Sunday and it was empty, and the girl who was serving us was very rude and giving us attitude for no reason. We asked for a sample and my partner accidentally dropped the ice cream, and she started acting very unprofessional slamming the ice cream lid and clearly annoyed. She had tattoos on her neck and arm, was wearing glasses, and had red hair. I understand it’s Sunday night and they were probably busy or tired, but that still doesn’t make it okay to treat customers like that. I really hope you guys do better in the future and provide a more welcoming experience for your customers.
