Meximodo - Metuchen

We have been here twice now and both times were great. The service the first time was TOP NOTCH- our server, Michael, was so attentive and on top of every aspect of our experience. We can't wait to come back and try the dinner menu 😋

Food was amazing & the presentation of the drinks was spectacular! We came on New Years and our server, Danielle was full energy, humor, and AMAZING service! She made my entire table feel so comfortable and even gave her recommendations of the best foods/drinks. Such a gem!!! Thank for making our first time at Meximodo so special, Danielle!

Edgar is the best chef. Creative, warm and super knowledgeable!! Cristian was very hospitable, attentive, and made sure our orders were accurate, timely, and that we genuinely had a great time at Meximodo in Metuchen. The manager Alicia was equally hospitable, making sure we were seated comfortably out of the sun, and she even shared the fun fact that the restaurant holds the Guinness World Record for the most varieties of agave spirits in a restaurant with 1033. My favorite dish was the refreshing watermelon salad, and everything we ordered was simply delicious. The huevo ranchero was out of this world, while the almond horchata had a cooling flavor with a smooth texture and the tamarindo gave a perfect kick. The yuca fries came with an amazing green dressing full of flavor, the street style corn was the perfect start, and we ended with the fresh leche French toast which was sweet, crunchy on the outside and soft inside, a perfect and super delicious finish.

Stopped through from DC. This place is absolutely gorgeous and the cocktails are amazing. I came with a friend for brunch and we both for the steak and eggs, as well as the guacamole appetizer (with pineapple habanero) …delicious. Our server Wilson was spectacular- attentive, knowledgeable and so kind. No bad remarks about this place!

What an amazing night we had for diner with family. The place packs up and I recommend making reservations and if you’re on a date night reserve the seats next to the windows. The chef came out several times to serve us some special plating he made just for us. The servers were super fun to interact with and provided great service. The place has an ambiance fitting for a romantic date night. Have the skirt steak for sure!

Meximodo in Metuchen is outstanding! The food is fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The salsa and guacamole tasted so authentic, and every dish had that perfect balance of spice and flavor. Great cocktails too, and the atmosphere is lively yet welcoming. It is a perfect go-to spot when you’re craving delicious Mexican food. Highly recommend!

We came here for a brunch and ordered for an appetizer the street corn as an appetizer and the barbacoa omelette and Steak and eggs. All of the food was delicious and perfectly portioned. We also ordered a few drinks to include the old fashion and the presentation and taste of everything was just perfect. The best was Jean carlo, our server, who was super pleasant to begin with and gave us recommendations and answered all our questions regarding the drink and food menu. I highly recommend this place on all accounts and will definitely be coming back again soon.

Came for a birthday brunch with a group of girls and had a great time. This place is beautiful! The Christmas decor is out of this world! Our server Camila was the best! She was very attentive. The food was yummy and the drinks even better! Great experience overall.

Went here for the first time tonight with my friends for my birthday and it was a great experience! Our server Johan, Was phenomenal! He was very attentive and made the experience great!! The food was fantastic, Best chicken enchiladas I’ve ever had!

Before heading back to Connecticut we decided to have our last dinner in NJ at Meximodo with our friends. The vibe was great and so was the food as well as the service. Great Christmas decor, beautiful wall art, and groovy music. We ordered Virgin-colada, Mango Margarita, Cantarito, El Rey del Sur, Street-style Corn, Yuca Fries, Corn & Poblano Rigatoni, Tres Leches, and Chocolate Molten Cake. Loved every sip and bite. Tip: Make sure you reserve your table and they validate your parking when parked in the garage at the back.

Laura was amazing! I have a very limited diet and she did not stop until I found something that I could eat. I was going t settle for just chips and guac but she spoke to the chef and made sure that I had a meal! Drinks are amazing and the atmosphere is super cute! Dress up or down your are fine! Love it!

I visited Meximodo today and it did NOT disappoint! I ordered the mint mojito, street-style corn, and guac and omg the appetizers were sooo good. The street corn was insanely tasty and mixing it with the guac made it even better. I was already so full from the apps, but I still had to try the shrimp tacos for my entree. The shrimp were big and juicy, and the aioli was sooo good. It was labeled spicy on the menu, but it wasn’t very spicy at all so I added extra hot sauce. The place got busy really fast for a Monday night, so I definitely recommend making a reservation to secure a table. Can’t wait to come back!

Food was good and the service was excellent. We had a hard time deciding what to order and our waitress literally went through every option in the menu trying to make sure we were satisfied (thank you Laura!) Drinks were amazing and it’s a very nice atmosphere. Would definitely go again.

We went for lunch. The Christmas decor was beautiful. Our server was polite and attentive. The chicken floutas were full of flavor and the chicken was moist and tender. The steak and cheese tacos were good. However, the cheese was very salty. If you're not a salt fan, these might be a little too much. The barbacoa tacos were tender and we'll seasoned. The Plantains were perfectly carmelized. We enjoyed our experiences and would return. Margaritas... When you're having margaritas at lunchtime, is that ever a bad thing? Heads up: The restaurant decor is very pink. It was surprising with all of the Christmas decorations how overpowering the color pink is. This is just an observation, but it is hard not to realize it.

First time visiting and let me tell you ! Raymond provided outstanding service from start to finish. They were attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and ensured everything arrived promptly and perfectly. Their warm personality and professionalism truly enhanced our dining experience. We’ll definitely be back thanks to their excellent service!

Really great experience. The food was the delicious, my table had the plaintains, yucca fries, chicken enchiladas, mushroom enchiladas, barbacoa tacos, and the complimentary chips and salsa. We also had a birthday so complimentary lava cake which was decent. Our server Jacky was great, very attentive and informative. I loved the decor, would definitely come again. The almond horchata is decent , not sure I would get it again though.we also had the virgin-colada which was delicious.

Had a lovely time at Maximodo ✨ Delicious food, well-crafted drinks, and a beautiful atmosphere. The ambience is warm, stylish, and perfect for a relaxed evening. Definitely worth a visit!

The atmosphere is the main reason to come here. The food and service are also great. The drinks are a bit watered down and you don't get enough alcohol for what you're paying, but they are presented with some flair and visual appeal if you're into that sort of thing. The selection of tequila is obviously incredible. I recommend the street corn app. The service was on point even though it was a busy Friday night. The Halloween decorations were awesome and added a lot to the atmosphere!

I celebrated my birthday at Meximodo Restaurant, and it was an amazing experience. The service was excellent, and the staff were incredibly cordial and attentive throughout the entire visit. They made the occasion feel special with their warm hospitality and professional service. The atmosphere, food, and overall experience were outstanding. I truly appreciate how well they took care of us and made my birthday celebration memorable. Highly recommend Meximodo for any special occasion or a great night out!!!!!!

Please come here for ANY event! The food is amazing, full of flavor and the ambiance is just so beautiful, especially at night. I came here for my birthday and our waiter, Miguel was extremely attentive and kind throughout the entire time! Miguel recommended the Corn and Poblano Rigatoni which was divine!

Amazing Mexican restaurant with authentic flavors and a vibrant atmosphere. The tacos were packed with flavor, the drinks were on point, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable for the quality.

A place worth revisiting without hesitation: exceptional service, music slightly louder than needed (According to my personal tastes), and food and drinks that were genuinely fantastic. I would definitely come back!

Johan was our waiter at Meximodo in Metuchen and made the whole experience smooth and effortless. We celebrated my dad’s birthday, and everything I requested was handled perfectly without any reminders. The food was great and came out quickly, the ambiance was beautiful, and the service was excellent. He truly helped make the night special. We’ll definitely be back!

Went in late November and the place was decorated for the Christmas season! It was very festive and fun. Lots of fun cocktail options and some coffee options but I found the coffee drinks to be a bit too sweet for my taste. The brunch food was yummy and lots of good options.

Absolutely delicious authentic Mexican food! The inside is so gorgeous, the staff is super nice, the food is incredible, and they have a DJ playing great music including Bad Bunny so a 10/10 lol. Absolutely would come back again in a heartbeat!

The interior design is vivid, beautiful and welcoming. The food tastes unimaginably absolutely astonishing. Great for any occasion/gatherings. Service was excellent and was served a fellow worker, Maria, an amazing waitress. Food was fast served, fresh, and delectable.

First time in.. we celebrated my lil bros birthday. The atmosphere is just amazing. Beautiful. The music was great. Our service was top tier. Our server Miles was just spectacular. We loved the food. My margarita was perfectly made and strong enough to want another. I can’t wait to come back soon.

I had the Huevos Rancheros and they were absolutely phenomenal — bold, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. My wife ordered the Tres Leches French Toast and it was a total home run — decadent, fluffy, and unforgettable. Service was just as impressive. Laura took amazing care of us — friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. Great food, great vibes, and top-notch service. We’ll definitely be back!

I was pleasantly surprised by my experience at Meximodo. I went there for dinner on a Friday night. The vibe and atmosphere is fun and beautifully decorated. The service is hospitable and quick. The food was quite good - we got the carne asada and the pollo con molé. Both were very flavorful and seasoned well. For drinks, I had a mocktail and it was really sweet but still delicious. Overall, a good restaurant to go for a nice dinner. Definitely make reservations because they get busy on the weekends!

We were really excited to try Meximodo after hearing so much about the atmosphere and creative dishes. The space itself absolutely lives up to the hype beautiful, eye-catching, and full of energy. Raymond was our server and he was excellent: attentive, knowledgeable, and happy to answer questions throughout the meal. Unfortunately, while the presentation of the dishes was impressive, the flavors didn’t quite match the visual appeal. The classic margarita was beautifully crafted, but the flavor leaned a bit cloying. I’m not sure which agave was used, and while it was enjoyable overall, it landed around a 5.5/10 for balance. The croqueta de elote was the most surprising dish in flavor, it leaned more toward a Greek dolma with corn folded in, making it a bit difficult to conceptualize as a corn croquette (4.5/10). The steak and cheese tacos were decent but fairly one-note; some acidity or brightness, like pickled onions could have really elevated the combination of beef, cheese, and tortilla (7.5/10). The rice and beans felt especially underwhelming: essentially white rice and black beans topped with queso fresco and pico de gallo, without much depth or seasoning (3/10). Overall, Meximodo delivers strongly on atmosphere and service, but the food could benefit from the same thoughtful, distinctive touches that make the space itself so memorable. With a bit more balance and refinement in flavor, it could truly shine.

Very nice Mexican restaurant, huge place, really good for a large party, awesome bar and biggest tequila selection ever. The food is just ok, it felt like they are so big that the kitchen is straggling with the quality. The food is just ok. We tried chicken mole, tacos and red snapper and was kinda bland. The chicken was undercooked with a little blood next to the bone. I think deserts were really good, I would strongly recommend all of them. Awesome drinks selection. Try their margaritas!

I’ve been meaning to come here for a while. It is so pretty inside. Lots of pink and vibrant colors. There is music playing as well. The patio area was booked so we had to sit inside. Our waiter Jean Carlos was very nice. He recommended to sweet corn as an appetizer and it was delicious. The flautas were very good too. They were properly filled with chicken. The French tasted good but I didn’t see how it was a 3 leches French toast. There was only whip cream. In other pictures it seems to have more milk on the bottom. We asked but he said it comes like this. So I would suggest changing the name. I can’t wait to return for an evening outing to see what’s it like at night.

It’s a beautiful restaurant but a bit noisy and probably not the best place for a quiet dinner. The service was great. We had a reservation and dint have to wait long but it’s very popular. We had several appetizers - street corn, queso and guacamole - all were delicious. Most my friends had tacos and seemed happy with them. One had ribs. I had pollo mole. The mole was fine but not outstanding, thus the 4 star rating. The mole wasn’t spicy or super chocolate. A big portion of chicken, half a chicken. We had several drinks and ever was happy with them.

We came here on a Saturday with a bigger group and they were fully able to accommodate and serve us. Their food was good, reasonably priced, though their bartenders were only able to really make things that were on the menu, it seemed. I didn’t want anything flavored, but they weren’t able to offer any options at the bar. The tacos were good and I would go again!

The ambience and service was fantastic, but the food felt short of expectations. We had amazing time having cocktails and apps especially street side corn and queso fundido. The chips and salsa were out of this world. But main course felt a little bland to our liking, they can add a little heat in the prep. One more thing we noticed was there’s no burritos or fajitas in the menu. We parked in the garage next door and they validated it so that’s another plus.

Place was clean. Good service. Good drinks. Guacamole was good. The tacos filling was a bit too much for the small shell and a bit salty for my taste. I would try again.

This place is all atmosphere. Lots of tequila but when you ask for a watermelon margarita you get an artificially flavored garbage drink. Queso with chorizo was disgusting. Service was insanely slow. Chicken enchiladas were a little too salty but edible. Croqettas were decent as were the sweet plantains. Recommend for the drinks but that's about it. I wouldnt return.

Horrible service, the hostess discriminated Asians! If you are Asians, make sure skipping this place. The reservation is at 5:30, the restaurant is empty. The couple before us got seated right the way, but they told us to wait for the table or get a drink at the bar. While we are at the bar, two tables behind us got seated immediately after arrival as well. Talked to the hostess about our table after seeing this, she said wait for a minute and never came back. Have to talk to a manager to get a table at 5:30 with empty restaurant. Will never come back.
