A bustling traditional bar with table service, it offers an extensive menu of mixed drinks. The menu includes classic cocktails, as well as domestic beer, liqueurs, and spirits. The house specialty is La Perla: a refreshing drink that combines tequila, sherry, and anise liqueur. The bar's decor is that of an authentic Mexican cantina. Images of Pedro Infante and many other symbols of popular culture adorn the walls; cultural syncretism is evident in every corner of this establishment. The bar features a main room with square tables made of compressed wood and wrought iron, as well as high tables of powder-coated aluminum. The evening unfolds with corridos and boleros rancheras, but the bar welcomes a variety of musical genres. Bar El Escalón is an iconic spot that seems frozen in time. Its atmosphere is relaxed and convivial. It belongs to the Triad of Traditional Bars of San Luis Potosí and is part of the popular Seven Cantinas Tour. One of the favorite places among local people and a cultural landmark in the city with more than 100 years of tradition.

A pleasant and comfortable place. Friendly and attentive service. Affordable prices. The micheladas are good, although we didn't get to try any of the other drinks. This classic bar in the Historic Center is definitely worth a visit.
