A wonderful place for eating delicious ham and cheese and drinking clericot. I loved it! 🍷🧀💕
Delicious! This place has everything I expected from the San Juan Market: a rich tradition, delicious food, and excellent service. We tried the classic baguette, a roast beef tapa, and canapés with fig, walnut, strawberry, and pear. Everything was great!
Great food, awesome cultural environment. Highly recommended. Many exotic items to try.
Excellent quality of cheese, ham, and baguette. All were really fresh and packed with flavour. The baguette was perfect - fluffy on the inside, crusty and firm on the outside. They also had a tasty homemade spicy olive oil and pepper sauce. Definitely did not expect to find this quality at the mercado. Paired with a cup of red. The staff were knowledgeable and passionate, helping me with the names of the cheeses and giving me samples to start. And what's more, they were super amazing with me. Made small talk despite the language barrier, always smiling and friendly. And guess what! They gave me a complimentary unique dessert at the end - a slice of baguette with cream, pear and honey - a simple buy yummy dessert. Cosy little place with delicious food. All at a frankly really affordable price. Bonus fact: the owner has been running the shop for 4 generations!!! Highly recommended.
A very pleasant little place run by the owner and his team. Super service. Super attention. Super food. And if you want something extra that's not on the menu, they'll be happy to get it for you. In my case, we ordered a carajillo and an espresso. We enjoyed it with complete peace of mind. Highly recommended. They accept card payments just in case. The tapas are delicious with their wide selection of imported cheeses and cured meats. And if you want dessert, there's that too. They brought us figs with mascarpone and pear slices, mascarpone drizzled with honey on a slice of baguette. All with a glass of red wine. A true delight for the palate.
Nice cheese to pair with red wine
I loved going to this place because they have a wide variety of products
Enjoyed our first time visit very much! We are at La Hija de Frances sampling roasted insects, drinking cranberry mezcal and a wonderful sandwich on a baguette with meats cheeses and insects!! What an increible adventure. Highly recommended...
Haha great place to buy food and to try the most unusual things also!!
Best place to have some tapas and try different kinds of cheese, prosciutto, etc. Prices are much better than anywhere else in the city. You even get a sample of wine. With 1/3 of baguette you'll be more than satisfied.
Delicious! I loved the baguette, the cheeses, and the olive oil sauce. The service is phenomenal. They had a problem because they ran out of bread, but they let us know, tried to make it up to us, and offered good alternatives. They also apologized. The staff is very friendly, and I highly recommend it. I'll definitely be back on my next visit to Mexico City.
We tried the classico sandwich - 3 cheese and 3 types of meat - delicious 😋
The place is located inside the San Juan market, and fortunately, all the establishments I've been to have high-quality products. The establishment has an upstairs dining area, which is a good option if you want to eat with friends. The waiter seemed tired and somewhat absent-minded. This doesn't mean he didn't provide good service; it's just that for some people, it might suggest he wasn't interested in serving them. This is just a suggestion that doesn't detract from the quality of the food. There's a wide variety of baguettes and toppings. I don't mind eating a cold baguette with Serrano ham or cheese, but perhaps it would be a good idea to offer the option of heating the baguette. I think many people would appreciate that. Baguettes can be ordered by size, 20 or 30 centimeters. There are many options. They give you a complimentary glass of wine. I think it would be a good idea to keep it chilled or in a wine cellar and show it when serving, even if it's a basic wine. It would be a nice touch for the diner. Once you're seated, the service is quick. Inside the market, you'll have several options; another suggestion would be to offer a wider variety of beers, such as Pacífico or Bohemia. At the end of your meal, they'll give you a complimentary dessert, which is a nice touch to finish your tasting with something sweet. The establishment is small but quite clean. Music upstairs would be appreciated to create a better atmosphere.
Friendly staff and lots of cheese tasting for free! Food is pretty high quality
Overpriced vegetables but several you cannot find easily in other mercados. Such as a variety of mushrooms carried by one vendor. Odd number of Italian food vendors. A bit of a tourist trap.
I’ve seen this posted around as a great place for food but when we went the only options seemed to really be fried insects at spirit stalls or cheese. Felt quite tourist trappy. We were quite disappointed and left to go to one of the restaurants closer to the other mercado
