From start to finish, my husband, Michael, and I had an absolutely exceptional evening at Las’ Lap — a perfect blend of bold Caribbean flavors, impeccable service, and a vibe that made the night feel truly special. The food was nothing short of spectacular. Highlights included the Escovitch Crab Claws — bright, tangy, and perfectly seasoned — and the Sticky Honey Wings with a pimento smoke + hot honey glaze that were downright addictive. The Lamb Ribs were rich, tender, and brilliantly spiced, and the Oxtail Cubano was an indulgent twist on a classic with deep savory notes. The Bucatini with Manila Clams in a jerk bianco-style sauce was a standout — briny clams and perfectly al dente pasta kissed with spice and umami. To finish, the homemade pistachio gelato was silky, nutty, and the ideal cool ending to a full-flavored meal. Service was top tier — every server was warm and attentive, especially our server Michael, who elevated our whole experience with expert recommendations and genuine hospitality. The wine list was superb, beautifully curated to pair with the vibrant menu and tropical vibe. Best of all, Chef Kwame Onwuachi, the humble genius behind this kitchen, was present in the dining room greeting guests and personally ensuring everyone was having a great time. It’s awe-inspiring to see such a grounded and gracious personality at the helm — a James Beard Award-winning chef whose talents have earned top accolades for his New York restaurant Tatiana and now here in Miami. If you’re looking for inventive Caribbean cuisine, brilliant service, and an unforgettable night out in South Beach, Las’ Lap should be at the top of your list. We can’t wait for our next visit!
Lovely atmosphere. The food was lovely and the ambience was perfect! The art work is breath taking. Come dressed to impressed. I love how this spot has a dress code it really sets the mood for sexy and elevated. The music was the perfect playlist.
Flew into town on a random Sunday for dinner here. It did not disappoint! lovely ambiance and decor, everyone from the hostess to the bartender(s) were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The food was fantastic! We got the prawns(delicious unexpected preparation) oysters(fresh and delicious) lamb ribs(oh my goodness) and sticky wings (perfect crisp, excellent flavor, all flatssss) I’m a fan of chef Kwame, him and his excellent staff do it again
I stumbled upon this restaurant my last day in Miami…. such a coincidence. Once I discovered Chef Kwame owned this I booked a reservation asap. The food, drinks and service were absolutely phenomenal and exceeded my expectations. The ambiance and service from the staff truly makes this a 5 star establishment. The bartenders pictured were amazing!! Highly recommend laś lap and will visit every Miami trip 💕
Fantastic experience at LasLap. Our server was phenomenal. He explained every dish so eloquently and gave great recommendations. We had the wings and Doubles as apps. Wings were delicious and has a crispy but tenderness to it. The Doubles were good and tasted very traditional. We opted for the Fish, Bucatini pasta and the Brown Stew chicken. Every dish was fantastic. The rice and pea’s was so flavorful and accompanied the dishes so perfectly. Overall, great dining experience and will be back to try other great dishes.
A truly unique experience in a very out of the way location right on south beach. It's completely worth looking for and experiencing this menu from Chef Kwame Onwuachi. We had on our bucket list to go to tatiana's in new york. But right here in our very own backyard, is an excellent representation of high end gourmet food. Each dish better than the last. The first dish superb.
Walked in with my brother unaware it was happy hour! We sat with Carlos the bartender at the front for a round of drinks he was so handsome and charismatic! Then we moved to the bar in the dining area to eat and were greeted by Johnny who was also helpful on the menu. We had 3 drinks each and shared 2 entrees food was delicious I recommend the oxtail Cuban sandwich! William the manager was also very attentive checking on us as the night flew by. Ambiance was great music was great. Felt like we left Miami for the night! Thank you Las’Lap
This restaurant is amazing! The vibe, music and even the art showcased on the walls sets the perfect dining mood. The food was on point and the menu really focused on coastal Caribbean flavors with a modern twist. The cocktails were equally great, and the service could not have been better. If you have not been yet, don’t miss this hidden gem. I highly recommend you try Las Lap-Miami, I know we’ll be back!
Phenomenal. The food was to die for. The decor and music was pure vibes. Our server was Jeffrey who treated us like Queens and explained every dish exquisitely. Annette and Massiel were also sweethearts cannot wait to come back for happy hour and once the rooftop is open.
Great experience, likely going to be a Michelin restaurant in the next 2-3 years. Drinks are delicious but slightly overpriced. Meals are reasonably priced, heavenly, and delivered with consistently high standards throughout. The lamb was amazingly moist and tender. Oxtail was also a highlight. Service was great but on the sales-y side. Overall, no complaints and will be back.
Brooo I was looking for new restaurants in Miami for my weekend stay and I was so hyped I found this place! I’ve gone to las lap in nyc for years and happy to see amazing collab with Chef. The food was sooo flavorful and the drinks were strong. Great music great vibes. This place should do well! Cheers!
Top notch food and service. The flavors here really shine. I don’t know how else to describe it but everything was just so flavorful and well seasoned. Decor is beautiful and the service was great. One slight issue is whenever we asked for a recommendation, it was always the most expensive thing on that side of the menu. Now maybe that’s the true recommendation but not sure. Will definitely be back and recommend this place to others.
Had dinner at Las Lap and the food was absolutely amazing. It’s a lively restaurant with Caribbean-inspired flavors that shine in every dish. I honestly can’t pick a favorite because everything we tried was so flavorful and delicious. Our server was fantastic, attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and drinks, and made the whole experience even better.
If you’re in Miami and want a spot that mixes great energy, amazing food, and a true island vibe, Las Lap is where you need to be. From the second you walk in, the space hits you with Caribbean soul. The lighting, the music, the crowd – it all feels like a celebration. The drinks were on point. Each cocktail looked like it belonged in a magazine and tasted even better. The bartenders clearly know their craft and keep the vibe fun. The food was the real surprise though – bold flavors, perfect portions, and everything came out fresh and hot. The dishes we ordered were full of color and flavor, and honestly made it hard to pick a favorite. Service was top-notch. The team moved with purpose but never rushed us, which made the whole night feel smooth. They checked on us just enough to keep the drinks full and the table clear without being overbearing. The crowd was a perfect mix of locals and visitors, which gave the whole place a cool, laid-back but lively atmosphere. It’s the kind of spot where you can dress up a bit, grab great food, and stay for the music after. Las Lap is officially on my list for every Miami trip. If you’re looking for good food, strong drinks, and a place that feels like you’re stepping into a Caribbean night out, this is it. Five stars all the way.
An amazing new addition to Miami’s dining scene, this Caribbean-inspired restaurant brings the unmistakable New York flair down south. The food is absolutely incredible — flavorful, creative, and so many standout to choose from. The wine list is perfectly curated, and the sommelier’s knowledge truly elevates the experience. Cocktail list is unique and pairs well with your meal, or the night cap. The space itself is stunning — whether you’re grabbing a drink at the bar, dining on the patio, or taking in the Miami skyline from the rooftop, listening to the perfect playlist, every spot offers its own unique vibe. Definitely a must-visit in Miami.
This place is serious one. It was simply amazing from the start to finish. I popped in expecting something, not sure but knowing I was going to get something good. Las’ Lap deliverers again and again. Phenomenal food, approachable menu, good music, amazing service and S/O to Jeff, our server. The spread was definitely an amazing voyage through heritage flavors and cultures. Solid.
Had dinner here with my girls last night.. we left full, drunk and happy. Feels more like a full restaurant than the NY location which has more of a late-night tapas and drinks vibe. The restaurant has moody lighting and the DJ keeps a good energy. This is not an over the top Miami restaurant but they do enough that it's certainly not casual; perfect balance. Our server, Alex, was funny, thorough with his review of the menu, (had a great mustache) and did not steer us wrong with drinks. When offered water, the options are: still, sparkling, and COCONUT water... which came in the coconut! We all tried the rum punch since it's a Jamaican staple and wow, amazing! That's the kind of drink you order a few of cause it's tasty and later can't walk straight. Sneaky! LOL As far as food, we ordered family style and overall did not have 1 bad plate. Here are my "can't miss" suggestions: The caviar service comes as a tartare with tuna, a bunch of toppings/sauces and ROTI! The south beach snapper reminded me of a yellowtail crudo 10/10- wouldn't skip it. The wagyu griot had some of the best rice and peas I've ever had out (restaurants undercook this rice often IMO) and the griot was SO tender, there's a chance that was the best griot I've ever had- outside of a trip to Haiti. The crab claws were good, obviously a smaller portion. The oxtail cubano sandwich is a little cheesy, has a hint of spice (great twist since cubanos have none) and comes with a little sauce. I had to fight to finish my last few bites of food but still did not skip dessert.. we aren't quitters. We only tried the gelato (all 4 flavors) and while I liked them all, I can confidently say to go right to that pistachio flavors without hesitation. That's the WINNER! Overall, not a single dish was subpar! We will definitely be back again to try a few other items we skipped.. have a little FOMO we didn't try the Rasta pasta. Next time. Love this new location! Will be dreaming of that griot tonight xx
Wow. Just wow. I’m not even a big seafood person, but the Escovitch Crab Claws blew me away—the claws were tender and that sauce (can’t remember the name) was so good I could honestly drink it. The South Beach Snapper on guacamole was super refreshing—felt like I was on vacation instead of thinking about work the next day. Perfectly balanced, not too “fishy,” just right. The Oxtail Cuban was comfort food on another level—the wagyu + mojo oxtail combo was crazy good, and the truffle was perfectly balanced (not overdone like some places). The Sticky Wings had great flavor and were cooked just right—not so crispy that they hurt your gums—but a little saucy for my taste. Still solid. The Grilled Lamb? 10/10. I could’ve eaten a dozen. Tender, flavorful, and no gamey taste at all. And the Wagyu Tasso was the star—juicy wagyu, incredible sauce over rice, and those coconut collards… unreal. Great food, great vibes, great music, great people. Honestly one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a while definitely worth the drive from Broward County. Only downside? Parking—but the food more than makes up for it.

Came here with a group of 7 and sat outside in the patio. The ambiance was nice. Willy the manager was lovely, he checked up on us a few times. My favorite drink was the rum punch, it was tropical and refreshing! I had the The sticky wings, so good, the Rasta pasta, chef’s kiss, and the snapper was divine! 10/10.

From the moment we checked in with the hostess , i just knew the food was gonna be good. I got nothing but attitudes & i couldn't even finish my sentence before she said "NO". Although i wish the customer service was a lot better it did not take away from the food actually tasting amazing. But for the amount of money that is being spend. First impressions are lasting ones. They were not accommodating at all. As we arrived 2 hours earlier than expected to our reservation time, the hostess rudely reminded us that it was gonna be impossible for us to be sat earlier (with many empty tables btw). When we finally were taken to our table we were led to high tops. We weren't asked if a high top table was ok? When we asked to be seated at a regular table again we got the same attitude followed up by "I don't think we can do that , let me check". Food was amazing but just wish the personal interaction vibes were more warmer.

My husband and I dined at Las Lap for our anniversary. We just dined at Tatiana in NY last month and loved it so we were excited to see Chef Kwame opened a restaurant in Miami. The ambience was very Miami and the service was great. Jeffrey was our waiter and very knowledgeable of the menu and had great suggestion. We had the Cuban and Cesar for appetizer and I had the Dorade which was very flavorful. My husband had the pollo saltado. My only suggestion, pleaseeee cross menus and add the curry goat patties from Tatiana. Those were delicious! Overall great experience.
This restaurant was very underwhelming, which came as a surprise considering the ownership. When my party arrived, the greeter at the front was very friendly with the individuals before us and did a 180 in his demeanor toward my party. Each customer should be treated with the same enthusiasm unless there is a reason not to, especially when he is the introduction to the experience. The ambiance was beautiful despite the first impression of the host. When we were seated, the waiter asked if there were any allergies, to which we informed her of a seafood allergy, so when the Caesar salad came with anchovies, we were very disappointed. She apologized and offered the fruit salad as an alternative explaining that she mistook seafood allergy for a shellfish allergy. We ordered the lamb for the table, and the brioche was riddled with oil, and the lamb, while really tender, was missing flavor. For a $220 dollar bill, my experience was not worth it and I would not return.
Food was good but kitchen so slow it was unforgivable. Took about 35 for the first dish to come out, whole meal took over 2 hours even though we ordered everything at once. Kitchen was just overwhelmed and the place was not full. Really a shame because the food itself was interesting and good. Not sure if I would go back.
