Home-made corn tortillas, fantastic ceviche, seafood, steak, guacamole and chips, and things like tacos and enchiladas. For the adventurous eater they've got a few insect and huitlacoche dishes. For the more conservative they also have great steaks. The whole menu has a curated selection of mezcal (and maybe tequila) pairing recommendations. Also a wonderful atmosphere and attentive staff.

There drinks are amazing; the Tulum Vibe always hits the spot! With being regulars, we always notice the manager checking in with all of the guests to ensure they are having a pleasant experience. This place is super cute. The aesthetics were perfect for a night out with the girls or could be great for a date night. We had a group of 11 and they were super accommodating. I recommend making a reservation as it was really busy, but the reservation was super easy to get. The food was really tasty and the drinks were good too. We got a few appetizers for the table, and we each got an entree and a cocktail. With tax and tip it came to around $50 per person. My meal was the Dorados de Pollo (crispy chicken tacos) and they were delicious. Highly recommend.

We loved Bakan from beginning to end. The food was amazing with incredible classic mexican flavor. I think the menu is very broad with so many delicious option to chose and the portions are impressive , perfect to share or to enjoy a full meal. The restaurant is beautiful and the ambiance is so nice at anytime. The decor is Gorgeous and you can see all around the restaurant amazing Mezcal and tequila displays. It has a very nice outdoor space with nice lounge seating an a great bar. The service is also splendid and all the staff is very knowledgeable about the menu and friendly. We were in town this weekend and we had to make a reservation at Bakan in Wynwood! We came on a busy Saturday night and loved the atmosphere. To start, our experience was definitely made into an even better one by our waiter, Patricio. He gave great recommendations, he was very attentive, and he was so sweet with a great personality! For drinks, we got spicy margs and we tried mezcal with orange slices and crickets!! I know crickets sound gross but they were actually delicious!! Then we shared short rib tacos (these melt in your mouth) and guacamole with chips as our apps. For our entree we shared the VERY good priced tomahawk. It is BIG and SO delicious. Most places it’s all bone no meat and super pricy, but not here!! Lastly, we had to try dessert, we got the churros which were so so delicious and a perfect end to our meal!! Delicious fresh Mexican food. Had the guacamole and chips and ceviche to start - both amazing. And also very generous portions. Tacos, enchiladas were amazing too. Leave room for churros. All gluten free (except for the churros, and deep fryer items). Did not disappoint. Shout out to our server, Kevin, he was fab. Will be back whenever in town.

The ambiance at Bakan is really nice. We went in for lunch while on vacation and enjoyed the atmosphere. We got some of the vegetarian options and they were delicious. The margaritas are generous too! We were also happy with the service. There is plenty of parking but no free parking in the area. We would come back when we ate in town.

I called at the last minute for table for 5 inside. Lady at the front syepr friendly the place was packed but in 5 minutes we got the table ready. We ordered Mezcal Margaritas delicious. Best mexican restaurant. Period. Authentic, delicious food in a nice enviroment with friendly staff. They make almost everything in house, but the special shoutout goes to their blue corn tortillas. Simply delicious, with wood fire aroma exuding from them, and being done in house for everyone to see. You can even ask to taste one. The food was delicious—we had tacos and a bowl of guacamole, both fresh and flavorful. What truly made our evening special, though, was the exceptional service. A truly top-tier Mexican dining experience. Not your average enchilada! Every dish was beautifully prepared, delicate, and layered with flavor. Francisco was an exceptional server. He was knowledgeable, attentive, and thoroughly professional. Each course was cleared seamlessly, and the table was thoughtfully marked in advance for the next course. The first restaurant we tried after landing in Miami left a great impression on us. The restaurant was spacious, and their outdoor seating area was fantastic. We arrived around 2 PM and were seated immediately. Our waitress, Erica, was incredibly helpful and friendly, making the experience even better. My party of six had to wait awhile on a Saturday night to be seated (as expected) but it was 100% worth the wait. The food was incredible! It was our server Jah's first night on the floor and she made the experience even better. Jah's attention to detail and friendliness have my group of six talking about her and Bakan over a week later. Miami is not known for good service, but we would absolutely go back to Bakan when we visit again!

I had two mezcal cocktails, the wall (which has charcoal in it, hence the color) and the matcha-cita, both fantastic. The tuna tostadas were great, and the grasshopper tostada was super yummy, crunchy, and a little spicy. Oh and the churros were to die for. 100% recommend.

It’s soooo cute here and the inside is not what you expect. It’s welcoming & I love the low tables. We ordered potato tacos and chicken quesadillas. The tortillas were purple and it was lightly fried so if anyone doesn’t want to consume heavy fried food, this is a great choice. The “chips” given for the table was not the best and definitely an area of opportunity to reconsider for serving and/or changing it for a better option. Overall the vibe is inviting, it’s not too loud, the chairs were so comfortable and the service was great!!

One of the most delicious and pleasant dinners I've had in a long time. We sat on the patio in a cozy loveseat. Our waiter was efficient and friendly. The food, though, I'm not sure i could say enough about it! It was so delicious. I'll be dreaming about the green salsa for a long time, and my mixed drink was perfect!

My partner and I visited Bakan not once, but TWICE during our short stay in Miami. As big authentic mexican food/drink fans, we loved this place. Everything was seasoned perfectly, (especially the Pibil tacos!) and an honorable mention to the perfectly curated Mezcal cocktails. Also a shoutout to our waitress Cece who we had the pleasure of being served by both nights. As someone who travels and dines out a lot, great service can really stand out and that's exactly what we had. Cece was extremely professional but also very personable and easy to talk to. She made sure to make some great recommendations to us and made sure we were well taken care of both nights. We will definitely be back if we visit the Wynwood Miami area again!

Excellent restaurant, worth to come back over and over. Ambiance, food, cocktails and service all A-1. We were a group of six for lunch and enjoyed so much we didn’t want to leave. We tried Los Esquites, Ceviche Verde de Mariscos, Carnitas Prensadas Tacos, La vista con Chorizo Tacos, USDA Choice Skirt Steak and Galletas de Chocolate con Helado for dessert. For cocktails we tried Tulum Vibe, Mango Petacon and Margarita Akan Clásica. All were excellent.

This restaurant first passed the vibe check, since that’s what drew me to the restaurant, then the food came and it was amazing. Our waiter Byron was not only handsome but amazing. Just a heads up the green sauce they bring out is NOT guacamole but a delicious super spicy sauce. If you like heat 10/10 would recommend.

It was our server Jah's first night on the floor and she made the experience even better. Jah's attention to detail and friendliness have my group of six talking about her and Bakan over a week later. Miami is not known for good service, but we would absolutely go back to Bakan when we visit again!

My entire experience here was great. I gave a 4 bc the Chilean Sea Bass was really not real CSB but a substitute of either cod or something else. I had CSB many many times and you cannot mistaken their distant flavor. But overall the meal was very good.

Great decor, food was amazing. A bit overpriced though. One of us was as adventurous and did try the fried crickets which tasted like blue cheese. The cocktails, guacamole with white cheese sprinkle and blue corn tortillas all excellent. The highlight was the bone in short rib. Super tender it melted like butter. A little too much fat but still succulent. $65 for 2 to share. Pricey. At very popular restaurant nearby their famous short rib is $45. Would return for cocktails and guacamole.

Bakan has a great vibe. If one was to choose it would be better sitting outside than inside. The service was good. The waitress assisted all of our needs. The food was good. We had a variety of starters and I had the short rib which was shared between 2. It was slightly dry. But overall Bakan was a solid place to eat. Margaritas were good too! 🍹

I was first introduced to this restaurant in Madrid. The Madrid location is super fancy and the food is awesome. The Mami location is more casual but the food is equally awesome!!! Service was average at the Miami restaurant. But may have been my waiter. Will come back to judge if it is better next time.

The food is ok, every time I go I order the wood-fired roast, it's what I liked unlike the other dishes. As for price and quality, I think it is overrated.

The mango margarita was great! I wanted to like the food but it was disappointing to say the least. The chips that came with the guac were so difficult to eat lol. The street corn was simply not good, as the texture of the corn was weirdly pasty.

The food was really mediocre. the guacamole was actually ruined by the cheese. the Corn Street food that they served had very large grains and had almost no flavor. I would have preferred smaller kernels if there was more flavor. Tacos were just okay I ended up getting the pork ones, one of them had a pretty large bone inside the meat which was really odd. I think this place really caters to a drinking crowd and it also has a pretty good atmosphere so with something like that you definitely need a trade-off which in this case was the mediocre food.

I saw so many good reviews online about this restaurant and we decide to try but didn’t get the best experience our food came late and cold 😔

Once seated inside, service was slow to start. We were given a QR code menu that was hard to read, and even when we requested a paper menu, it felt cluttered and lacked cohesion. I suggest updating the menu to be more reader-friendly. Our server didn’t seem very knowledgeable about the dishes. The first salad I ordered wasn’t available due to a missing ingredient, so I went with another she suggested. When it arrived without dressing, I had to wait about 10 minutes for her to return. When I asked about the dressing, her exact words were: “It’s the dressing that comes with it. You just have to eat it.” The food took a while to arrive, and the portions were very small for the price—definitely dinner prices for lunch-sized portions. The drinks were balanced, but the food was underwhelming overall. There was also an issue with flies, even though we were seated inside and had a fan at our table. Overall, the service was lacking, the food didn’t feel authentic, and the pricing didn’t match the quality or portions. I wouldn’t recommend Bakan for lunch.

The focus is more on the ambiance than the food and service. The staff give the impression that they can’t be bothered. My enchilada was also pretty dry. They have these tiny kids tables in the interior dining area that aren’t comfortable and seems like the back of the chairs need tightening. Drinks were okay!

We came to celebrate my aunty’s birthday with my husband, and unfortunately the experience did not live up to the hype at all. We waited over an hour just to be seated, and the only option available was a table outside in the cold. Once seated, we were told the kitchen was behind. We ordered guacamole, which was tasty, but it came with only three chips, which was surprising. After about 30 minutes, we were told our food was arriving, only to wait another 15 minutes before being told that the shrimp tacos and sea bass were no longer available. We were then offered a local lobster without meat, which was not a real alternative. My aunty eventually received her meal, but my husband and I had to wait an additional 25 minutes. In the end, more than an hour later, sea bass tacos were brought to us — despite previously being told sea bass was unavailable. While running out of food can happen, the lack of transparency, contradictory information, and poor communication made the situation very frustrating. Combined with the cold, excessive waiting, and weak customer service, the overall experience was disappointing. Based on this visit, it’s definitely not worth the hype.

I don’t know how this restaurant has a good rating. First, the food is very mid for the price, almost no salt or seasoning, very few ingredients used and not used to their full extent. the dietary restrictions we had on our group were not respected and people got their order wrong. Besides, the food took forever and it was an overall disappointing service. The chicken was flavorless and salt less and nothing tasted special. I expected better from both the service training and the chef.
