Tip: The pistachio cake is a must-try, even better than in many Italian bakeries. Consider taking your order to go, as the location itself isn't particularly beautiful.

Bettant Bakery is a gem! The tuna sandwich is absolutely fantastic—fresh, flavorful, and served on perfectly crusty bread. The Nutella croissant was another highlight, with just the right balance of sweetness and a flaky, buttery texture. The quality of the pastries here is outstanding. Service was quick and friendly, even during busy hours. Whether you’re craving a light meal or something sweet, this place is a must-visit. Great spot for grabbing a casual bite while enjoying the atmosphere. Highly recommended! I had breakfast here almost every day during my one-week trip to South Beach.
My time in Miami wouldn’t have been the same without this place. Coffee is nice and pastries are just incredible. Be patient because it’s always crowded and worth the wait. There’s lovely outdoor and indoor space to sit. Definitely a must!
⭐ 5-Star Review – Bettant Bakery & Café, South Beach ⭐ Bettant Bakery & Café is truly a treasure in South Beach — an authentic French bakery that feels like a slice of Paris right on the beach. The moment you walk up to the display, you’re greeted with a stunning selection of pastries, all freshly baked and beautifully arranged. You can tell they take pride in their craft. Their pastry case is incredible — from almond croissants, hazelnut croissants, pistachio pastries, palmiers, cinnamon rolls, sticky buns, Danish pastries, lemon cakes, monkey bread, babkas, cruffins, Swiss rolls, and much more. Everything looks fresh, delicate, and high-quality. You can see why they’ve won awards: their Pain au Chocolat has been recognized as one of the best in Florida, and honestly, the quality shows in every item. The savory section is just as impressive. They offer fresh quiches (mushroom, spinach, salmon), homemade empanadas, and a great variety of sandwiches — prosciutto, tuna, chicken, ham & cheese croissants, pesto caprese, and breakfast sandwiches. Everything is prepared with premium ingredients and displayed beautifully. The bakery also keeps its drinks cold and refreshing — from fresh orange juice to coconut water, sodas, and European-style bottled beverages. It’s the perfect place to grab breakfast, brunch, or something quick to take to the beach. The staff is friendly, the service is fast, and everything is priced fairly for the quality you get. It’s rare in Miami Beach to find a place that offers such authentic French pastries, generous portions, and real craftsmanship without the “tourist trap” prices. Whether you’re craving something sweet, something savory, or just a great coffee with a warm croissant, Bettant Bakery & Café is a must-visit. Fresh, delicious, and consistently outstanding — a true neighborhood gem! 🥐☕✨
Fantastic. One of the best bakeries we have been to outside of Europe. Ate breakfast 2 days in a row. This place is a 10.
If you’re a local, you’re lucky. If you’re visiting make sure to stop by. Votes best croissants several years running…for a reason! Bettant Bakery & Cafe is a tiny little shop bustling with activity and wholesome baked goodness. Everything smells wonderful, in fact the smell is what drew me in. I walked past and was pulled backward like a cartoon…where the aroma lifts you and carries you back to your food. The ham and cheese croissant was so delicious, flaky croissant with sweet ham and toasted to absolute perfection. The plain croissants are buttery, flaky, crispy, and chewy at all once. Just like a croissant should be. I also tried the cheese danish and it was sticky and delicious but not too sweet. The staff were nice and warm, and extremely patient with everyone while they tried to decide what delicious things they should order. Everything I tried was perfect and wonderful way to cap a weekend in Miami Beach.
If I go to South Beach I know I’m grabbing breakfast at this place. This time of course it was as Wonderful as always. The service and food are always top notch and quick. Delicious croissants 🥐 and this time I tried a Bacon, Egg and Cheese Muffin? Sounds weird but tasted like the Bacon Egg and Cheese Croissant but different shape and the egg was runny in the middle which I was a fan of I haven’t had anything bad here in all the times I have come. This place is a gem 💎 in South Beach
Came in for a cafecito and left with a cinnamon bun and more 🤩 super impressed with how these ladies run their bake shop. They are so sweet and know how to be kind and swift with customers. I wanted to take home one of everything. One thing that looked amazing was this pistachio croissant 🤌
Egg, Ham & Cheese Cuisant and the Breakfast Muffin were both lights out. Incredible! Literally everything in the place looks fantastic. Staff was friendly and enthusiastic. This is a must try spot!
We went to Bettant Bakery three days in a row while staying in South Beach. Each day we got the same coffees but tried different pastry’s. All of them were delicious.
Really good authentic local cafe and bakery has been in business since 1935. Ham and cheese croissants are delicious and reasonably priced. Local cops, EMT, and utility workers frequent this place so you know it is good!!
A genuine friendly neighborhood bakery transported straight from Paris to Miami Beach. Rock solid quality that is hard pressed to find competition in Miami, Maybe Zack the baker or the French bakery on us1 in Pinecrest. Try the egg BLT on baguette but ask to ADD PESTO for that ratatouille moment.
Delightful pastry. The place is always busy. The coffee is very tasteful as well.
A wonderful, yummy place. Fresh and delicious bread. Good service and a lovely atmosphere. I really enjoyed the Caprese sandwich. Thank you for your lovely work!
French pastries, quiches, and traditional Miami fare- empanadas! You know a place in a tourist area has got to be good when you see all of the locals stopping in all morning long! Very reasonably priced and food doesn’t not disappoint. Beautiful flakey crusts and stuffed full!
The tables were full and there was a line which meant that the food must be good. It was! I got a Smoked ham & swiss cheese quiche which they warmed up and it was great. I also got a Pistachio croissant which I ate on the beach later. I was able to get a table and enjoy my quiche.
Wow the bread is surprisingly on point and as delicious as promised. The prices are fair also. I only got a sourdough baguette 🥖 toasted with butter, and an americano with an extra shot of espresso, and they both hit! The espresso is dank too. They didn’t speak much english there, when I ordered the americano she gave me drip coffee, and she kinda got pissed when I asked her for a remake on the espresso machine. It messed up the vibes as we were lost in translation I guess, but hot damn that bread and coffee perked me right up
Small gem in South Beach area. Everything we ordered was delicious! Cuban sandwiches, ham and cheese on baguette, cortaditos, espresso, almond croissant, chocolate croissant, absolutely delicious!
Best French cafe in Miami Beach. They have been around since 1935. Wonderful croissants and pastries. They have great baguette sandwiches and they will make to order. They have seatings outside also. Very reasonably priced. If you are looking for a nice and simple French cafe, look no further. Very friendly service.
LOTS of flaky, SUGARY (LITERALLY an entire bag or it tastes so) GOODNESS going on! Get there early, as your favorites may be sold out. We LOVE the Dulce de Leche Croissant muffin, which is a flaky, buttered, layered choux of heaven's delight filled with thick, creamy, nutty dulce de Leche lusciousness! You ONLY need one BUT you'll want MORE! The Key Lime Pies can only be eaten in miniscule bite-sized doses. They're tangy, citrusy and VERY sweet, encrusted in shortbread with a cloud-sized pillow meringued atop. LOTS of water between bites! They'll have something to satisfy every tastebud with excellent service to match!
Great bakery, not like others that just sell sandwiches. Don't miss out go there
Delicious baked goods, particularly the empanadas. Very reasonable prices for Miami Beach. Grabbed breakfast here every day I was in town and never got tired of it.
This place has the best freshly baked goods in the area! I wish I stayed here longer to try them all! Such an amazing dulce de leche cheese cake! Everything is fresh and delicious. You can’t go wrong with anything. I’ve been to many other breakfast places in the area and this one beats them all!
So happy we found Bettant Bakery with my brother ! I live on the beach, bro visiting from France and one day I sent him for croissants 🥐 : they were perfect, big and so yummy 🤤 Next thing I know we ordered a Galette des Rois, French specialty that is traditionally served in January. It’s simply one of the best I’ve had in the US ! We asked who was in charge and how come we had never heard of it ! Then we met the owners, Meriem and Mathieu who took over few years ago that bakery which is a part of the history of Miami Beach ! This couple is so sweet and hard working they deserve to be seen and I am so glad we rediscovered this bakery. Definitely recommend to all my French Fellows and anyone in love with our traditional French bakeries ❤️
Lovegoing here to pickup breakfast sandwich and coffee to take to the beach. The marble cake is good too!
It is with great pleasure that I return to Bettant Bakery, after several years away from South Beach, to find that it is even more wonderful than I remember it. Consistency in all things baking is what I expected, however I was taken a back by the new offerings in the space including the breakfast muffin that was absolutely banging! On top of all the great options to eat, they remain among my favorite places for a cortadito in the area, using coffee from local roaster Greater Circle really sets a beautiful tone. Grateful for you guys rolling with punches and coming out on top!!!
Excellent quality baked goods, croissants with a definitive outside crunch and soft inside. Huge range of products. Strong espresso based drinks, perfect to cut through the richness of a beautifully made almond croissant. Apparently Florida’s #1 bakery, and employees a hugely diverse work force of 18, including the all important French baker.
Great plain croissants! Best we have tasted in Miami south beach and well priced. Smiling cashier, efficient service.
This is my favorite haunt in Miami Beach. The coffee and cappuccino are incredible. Try a croque madame for breakfast. It's so delicious and filling you won't need lunch. The cinnamon rolls and Danish are amazing. Empanadas, croissants, quiches. The staff is so friendly. Grab a baguette to take home for dinner.
I’ve been a customer of this bakery for years and let me tell you - it is the best on in Miami Beach. Ladies that work there have great customer service and always make you feel very welcome! I love their mushroom quiche, their danishes and pastries. Everything is always fresh. You can purchase baguettes or order holiday cakes/Yule loges. They only open until 3 pm so make sure to come in the morning:
warm almond crescent is the best i ever had. there is nothing on the level of the raisin roll hand down amazing. my family loved the butter sugar , the plain crescents, turnovers , quiche, baguette, and must take home mini palmers. must try if you're in the area. so glad we found this place while on vacation from New Hampshire.
Wow the pistachio croissant was sooooo delicious. The coffee is good but they put little ice then it gets watered down. But ladies behind the counter and very helpful. Space is cramped but nice.
Their croissant was super good! We went at 10 in the morning- it was huge, very tasty, and fresh 🥐 Ham and cheese croissant was very good and the almond croissant was as good as my favorite croissant place in NY. Their decaf americano was a bit bitter, which we liked! Overall, very satisfied and want to try Cruffin tomorrow.
Arrived to South Beach yesterday. First thing in the morning came to my favorite Bettant Bakery. Breakfast muffin is delicious. They never disappoint. 👍❤️
Delicious bakery. Great pastries and breakfast sandwich. The French toast also looked phenomenal!
This place is amazing! My wife and I were in the area and went for breakfast, a meal we never skip. This place was OUTSTANDING and IMPECCABLE. Service was the best, place is clean and more importantly, THE FOOD. The food is like eating home made by your grandma. Everything was warm and flavory. We also want to mention that Marina was the one to greet us and made this meal special. She made sure that everything was perfect for us, she checked on us multiple times and always with a beautiful smile. Thanks Marina, we will definitely be back!
This place gets 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟for the quality of the food alone!! We were in town to see Taylor Swift and looking for a bagel and I’ve never been more grateful to not find what we were looking for! The first day I got a mushroom quiche and opted for a hazelnut croissant per the clerk’s recommendation. Could not have been a better choice. The quiche was great, but not as warm as I would have liked it. The croissant though…. Exceeded any and all expectations. We went back the next day and I opted to try out the quiche florentine, which was my faaave, asked for it extra warm this time (more on that later). It was so delicious. I also picked up a fresh OJ (amazing) and 3 croissants (2 hazelnut and a raspberry) so that we could have one on the way to the airport tomorrow morning! Unfortunately, whether she didn’t understand or just didn’t hear my request for the quiche to be extra warmed, it was just as lukewarm as the day prior. Honestly though, I really can’t be upset because the quality was just through the roof. 🙌🏻
The Friendliest team in Miami! Make you feel welcome even if you are sleepy and coffee deprived. The croissants are enormous and the almond ones are bliss. Fresh coffee is superb. Go early for best selection, sit there and thank the ladies behind the counter for the best way to wake up.
Excellent breakfast sandwich. Prompt and helpful folks behind the counter. An pretty real French backers vibe. Good coffee.
I hardly ever write reviews but this place is so good.. Best almond croissants I've ever had, crispy but also fluffy and the taste was so good.. Staff was friendly, will visit here every morning during my stay in Miami!
Pleasantly surprised to discover this place on our overnight trip to South Beach from Orlando- they make a variety of croissants (my favorites) and also empanadas with a variety of fillings (which we have never tried). My daughter and I walked thru the wind and light rain for about 10 minutes, arriving at 730 am to a full display of baked goods. Friendly staff. Chose my usual almond croissant and pain au chocolat to compare with others, and new ones included the raspberry croissant, dulce de leche cruffin, the guava and cheese croissant and the empanadas in two variations, beef and spinach (for lunch). All this cost only $41. Excellent flakiness and taste. Our new favorite is the raspberry croissant which had just enough jam but not too much. The dulce de leche cruffin was a close second.
Off tourist's path, nextdoor to Safron grill bakery, this has sweet treats, artesian bread and pretty good selection of fresh juices and coffee. Coffee punch a good kick - almost like a robusta. Everything tried was fresh even near the closing time. Please remember - it's 7PM. By location it's between 10th and 11th so if you're staying in the area - worth the visit for breakfast.
Highly recommend this place! It’s a GEM in a sea of overpriced tourist trap establishments. Check this place out if you want a really good no-fuss-no-frills bakery with quick service. It’s cute and unpretentious with well made pastries baked fresh each day, reasonable prices. The quality is not quite like NY cafes but it’s one of the best in the area. Locals seem to regulars and are greeted warmly by staff. Staff were very nice and patient as I made my selection. You can take out or dine in. They have seats inside and a few outside. I wish I found this our first day in South Beach instead of our last day. We tried the following (staff can warm them up for you!) Beef empanada - crunchy crust, one of the better empanadas in the area Mushroom & cheese quiche - pretty decent for the price Guava cheese danish - my fave warm & crunchy with lots of guava jam on one side that you can spread on the crust
5 stars just for making it all about the bread. We stumbled upon this Exquisite French Bakery early one morning & decided to try it out for breakfast. What we found was a South Beach staple of which the bakers arrive to in the middle of the night to start preparing all of the pastries that will be sold through the day. I believe this place has existed for more than 30 years. We found a courteous staff seeming connected to the community. I definitely recommend this place to all. All of the best wished to the founders & current owners of this establishment. The neighborhood would never be the same without you at this exact location.
This is a one of a kind bakery in SoBe. The quality of their pastries and breakfast sandwiches are excellent. The staff is warm, friendly and notable hardworking. The coffee is solid, with great options (espresso machine). There’s indoor and outdoor seating and it’s very conveniently located on the corner 11th and Washington just a few doors down from the diner that I never tried because I came here every morning during my week stay!
What an incredible place! We had a toasted ham and cheese sandwich and an avocado bread with a small salad on the side, the bread very fluffy and light, the avocado spread was light and it had a very unique taste, which I’ve never had anywhere else before, definitely going back for that the next time. Also the dressing for the salad was a pure joy. We even came back before they’ve closed to get some blueberry muffins, a blueberry Danish and a French baguette to take home with us. Traveling from Germany on a regular basis visiting family it is such a joy to finally knowing a place where we can get high end hand made bread and pastries, which we always miss when staying in the US. The owners are incredibly friendly and their staff as well. What a gem in south beach. If I would live here I would be for sure a regular! Totally in love with this place!
What a great little find! A nice mix of new and old Miami. Great variety of pastries [sweet & savory], sandwiches, quiches, empanadas at a good price. Strong Miami coffee too. Great service by the sweet Latina ladies that helped me this afternoon. Small café dine-in area if you wish to eat here instead of taking out. We got the spinach cheese quiche, almond croissant, Calle 8 Cuban, beef empanada, and latte. All tasted great and priced fairly for the area. Another new fave for us in Miami.
Best cafe for fresh pastries in all of MB. Been to several and they are quick and offer good quality croissants. Went three times during our stay even though it was a good walk away. Not so cozy indoors but the focus on what matters: good food, pastries and coffee! ;)
I would visit this place weekly (daily), if I lived in Miami! What an amazing bakery! The croissants are excellent. It has charming decor. And they move quickly even though there is a line. Wow! Great coffee too. 😊
Very good baked goods — I especially recommend the cheese croissant. It is unbelievably delicious, soft, and always fresh. It feels like heaven in your mouth: it melts as you eat it, it’s light, not too sweet, yet incredibly tasty. The baguettes are also very good — really decent quality. They smell wonderful, have a crispy crust and a soft, fluffy inside, perfect for dipping in olive oil. The atmosphere in the bakery is friendly and welcoming — everyone is always smiling and happy to help. To my surprise, the prices are very reasonable for such an artisanal bakery.
It was good but not extraordinary, I had a quiche with a late, I enjoyed it but I was expecting more variety in terms of bakery. It was ok but I wouldn’t go back
The food was good, but there are no prices listed which is annoying because it's busy and I'd rather not ask the price of items during a rush. If you get an egg and cheese sandwich on challah (I think?) maybe request a sauce or mayonnaise because it was pretty dry. The ham and cheese croissant had a LOT of cheese, which I loved. The plain croissant was also perfect.
Latte was delicious, service was fast and pleasant, and the "award winning croissant" tasted delicious but, it was not award winning in construction. The chocolate was heavily weighted to one side and vacant on the other. We enjoyed it very much but for award winning, we had an idea of something closer to perfect.
Great service. A little bit of a wait during prime time. No cute babes hustling you in at the door to eat their mediocre food. The ladies here speak Spanish, the.n again who doesn’t in Miami Beach? Coffee is strong and the pastries, quiches and croissants are delish! Dare I say, Parisian w/ a little u know, Latino flair. A great start to a 65 degree morning. The Wolfsonian Museum up the street will inject you with a little more culture, if you really wanto class up your act!
Excelente café, croissant muy rico. Con muy buenas atenciones para completar el menu. El Bakery es bien variado, digamos que tienen de todo un poco
Coffee was good, croissant was cold, hard. Attendant didn’t offer to warm up the pastry ? Also, a few of the signs (Pistachio, Raspberry and Hazelnut) are misspelled. I informed the attendant, but her lack of interest in correcting it, showed. Also, there is no WiFi. Too many cafes in a 5 mile radius to settle for mediocrity.
This is the second time I’ve gone to Bettant Bakery. The pastries are delicious and all the food is very good. Sadly, I have to leave only a 3-star review because, although the girls there are very attentive, they need to pay closer attention to what customers order. At 7:30 a.m. the place was full, with a line out the door, all the tables were full, and many people were still ordering. Even so, it’s important to be careful. I paid $50, tip included, only to get home and find that instead of the two egg and bacon muffins I ordered, I was given two egg and bacon croissants. Instead of two cinnamon rolls, I received only one, which means my husband didn’t get his, or I have to share mine. The only items I received correctly were the two almond croissants. When you are paying over $50 for 6 pieces of pastries t is important to receive exactly what you ordered and not something different. Since the place is very small and was extremely crowded, there’s no real chance to open the bags and check them before leaving, which I will definitely do next time. The first time I went, I left a $5 tip and later saw an extra $35 added as a tip on my card, which I had to dispute. So it seems that every time I go, something happens. The third time will decide whether I continue going. I really wouldn’t like to stop, since I live four blocks away and truly enjoy their products.
I had two different croissants and although they all look pretty, they were not how I I like them: flaky and buttery. I also was heart broken when, after the lady ensured the pistachio was pistachio butter not pastry cream, I bit into a soggy croissant with a white cream with pistachio essence. I wish I had tried the bread, empanadas and quiches - they looked great. But reviewing based on pastries only. Attention and vibes were super positive though!
the iced latte is disappointing. It was watery and tasted like drain water. I don’t know how their coffee has such good reviews. they got my order wrong the first time. When they remade my drink they didn’t add ice and just dumped the wrong milk out. I cannot speak on their pastries.
The bakery is far from being French! It’s a run-down place, not very clean, and completely lacking any French atmosphere. They probably call themselves “French” just because they sell baguette-style bread, but everything else is very mediocre.
Just visited this bakery 30 min ago. Visited this bakery hoping for a treat but left thoroughly disappointed. The croissants were bland, the Danish pastry tasted stale, like it was 2-3 days old, and the spinach croissant was barely filled. The bread and raisin roll were equally unappealing, both tasting old. The worst part? I spotted a large cockroach in the restroom. A complete letdown—avoid if you value your health. I don’t know how they got award for best croissant. It’s big fail for those who gave this award .
The third time is not a charm, but it does tell us the truth about this place, It's not very good. Besides the women being grouchy serving you, the pastries and we tried probably seven different kinds to give it a fair shot, were mostly stale and hard and did not seem fresh at all. we threw pretty much everything away after a couple of bites of everything.
