This is one of those places you always hope to find when you're looking for a local gem. It's small, only 4 tables inside, and really cool. There's a regular menu, but there are also specials which change every day. Anything you select will be good though I recommend you try the specials. I had the Mr. Marley pasta with Jerk Chicken and a Monopolio Santa Clara beer. The pasta was cooled just right and not too creamy, the chicken was Jamaican spicy, but not overpowering - I was able to make out all the flavors; onion, mushroom, and cheese - very nice! When you're there, ask for Rosemary - she is an absolutely wonderful server. She's attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely cares about your experience. On a side note, there is a lot of really cool art on the walls which is actually for sale! 🎨😎 All in all, it's the kind of place that you will enjoy in many ways; visually, acoustically, gastronomically, and socially!
I don't write too many reviews but this place deserves one. Everything was great from our waitress Rose to the excellent burgers. Everything is made to order and they use CAB, certified Angus beef. Will definitely be back to try more of their food. 😁
This is the only place you should be eating burgers, genuinely one my favorite places. The chef la burger, brunch burger, and chino tino burgers make my day every time. I take all my friends here when they're in town. staff is outstanding.
The food at Chefs on the Run was fantastic! We ordered the habanero chicken bites, a regular hamburger with fries, and the No Burger. Let me tell you, it was amazing – easily one of the best burgers I've ever had! The flavors were perfectly balanced, and each bite was packed with deliciousness. The server was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. The restaurant had a cozy, welcoming vibe, and it was clear the staff takes pride in what they do. The portions were generous, and we left feeling completely satisfied. I highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a great meal on the way down to the Keys or just a delicious lunch. Definitely worth the stop!
5 stars for 5 reasons 1. The grilled cheese burger was delicious! Meat was juicy and the bread is perfect! The cheese adds the finishing touch. Chicken Taino sandwhich wasn’t crispy as I would like but none the less it was great! All the flavors blended really well and it’s slightly messy! I didn’t like the green lime ginger aioli. Sangria was excellent! I got buzzed quick 2. The fries were sooooo good! Fresh! Crispy and crunchy! Hot! 3. Cheap food and quantity is great! 4. Fatima our waitress was great! Nice! Good recommendation! 5. This place is super cute and feel like im somewhere else! Has art work around the restaurant for sale!
My family and I had a wonderful experience eating dinner here. Not only was the food AMAZING but the service was EXCELLENT!! I ordered the Just A Burger and it hit the spot. My brother ordered the brunch burger and in his words “it was so delicious” We also got the Key Lime Empanadas which were the perfect end to our evening. You definitely need to order those!! The chef, Jodrick was extremely friendly and spoke with us a lot. He was so kind and shared a little bit of back story on this wonderful restaurant. I cannot express enough how wonderful this restaurant was. Everything was fresh and made to order! You definitely need to try this place out!
Quaint yet comfortable dining area, very clean and inviting. When you first walk in, you’re greeted by a window that looks right into the kitchen, where you can not only smell but also see the delicious food being made. That little touch immediately set the tone—it’s fun to watch the action and builds your appetite before you even sit down. The atmosphere struck a perfect balance: upbeat music created a lively energy, but the overall vibe stayed laid-back and cozy, making it a great spot for either a casual night out or a more relaxed meal with friends and family. Now, the food—absolutely outstanding. I tried the Bolitas de Queso (perfectly crispy, gooey, and flavorful), the El Pork Belly (rich, tender, and melt-in-your-mouth good), the Ze Smashed Burger (juicy, full of flavor, and cooked to perfection), and finally the Key Lime Empanada (a creative, tangy-sweet finish that I’ll be craving again). Every single dish was not just good, but truly memorable. Overall, this place is a gem. Great atmosphere, spotless environment, and food that delivers across the board. Highly recommend!
Loved this little homestead gem. Love the art and vibes. We had the surullitos and the alcapurrias for appetizer, phenomenal. For entrees my husband had the Z smash burger, so delicious loved the sweetness of the pickled onions. He's not even a burger fan and he ate it all. I had the Macarrones de Res, so creamy and delicious. For dessert we went with the guava flan...and WOW...blew my mind. 11/10
The food was SO delicious!!! I was in town from Atlanta and was so glad to add this delicious meal to my itinerary!
My family and I were looking for somewhere to eat in Homestead while on our Everglades National Park journey. I stumbled upon this restaurant on Google, and the raving reviews proved to be right! The family owned, cozy, hole-in-the-wall restaurant only has 4 tables inside, and more seating outside. Their unique menu has a myriad of options, most with a Puerto-Rican twist to it. The waitress was able to answer all of our questions and gave numerous suggestions. My family got El Yunque Burger and the Chicken Caribowl. Both entrees had the most impeccable, fresh taste. For dessert, we got the Key Lime Empanada which was the perfect finisher. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely visit again when I'm in the area next!
Amazing food. Amazing service. House hibiscus tea was perfection. The Cari bowl a variety of delicious flavors and textures. Absolutely recommend if you have the opportunity to go. Just go.
This place has a small store front, it doesn’t look like much from the outside and inside it has very little seating, but very cozy with a nice ambiance to it. This place is an absolute hidden gem. The food was loaded with so much flavors and served with a great presentation with nice portion sizes, and it was very reasonably priced. They add a 15% gratuity to every check. Service was very good, our waitress helped us understand the menu and she was always available. Great lunch specials and a lot of choices on their menu. This was my first time here and I will return to explore more of their menu.
Hidden deep in South Miami is a very small 5 table restaurant delivering some of the most delicious and unique food I’ve ever had. We tried multiple items and everything was quite amazing. As we ate, we wanted to try everything on the menu, which of course means, I’ll have to return another day. Highly recommended. This is a hidden gem. It’s not in a posh or well to do location, so set your expectations, you are here for the food, not some fancy decor. These chefs are amazing and that’s all that matters. Have an adventure try something new, and explore. There is a reason why this is in the top 100 restaurants in Miami. For me the truffle brisket Mac and cheese blew my mind, comfort food on steroids. The loaded fries were exceptional as well. I can wait to return.
This is the special burger of the month, and it is special. It's got flavor. This is the place that makes burgers that require no condiments. The flavor stands on its own. I have a sauce for another meal. Plantains and sausage, who is this mad scientist? I need to investigate further. I returned, and each visit was as mind blowing as the next. The special, is always really special.
We had lunch today and it was wonderful. Our server, Rose, was efficient, informative, and charming. We ordered the Chino Taino burger and the Bori Philly. They were both absolutely delicious. You can tell that whoever cooked these loves to cook. The Philly meat was tender and the sandwich was juicy. The fries were average - not quite hot enough, but they weren't the star, so they were fine. The burger <swoon>. The flavors were AMAZING. Be prepared - it's messy. Which brings me to my only criticism: the napkins. They're dollar store napkins, which means you get barely one use out of each napkin. We had to ask for more and we probably needed even more. Quality napkins may cost more, but people won't use as many and the tables won't be full of used napkins. The decor is cute, the bathrooms are clean, the prices are more than fair, but there are only a few tables. Do not miss this gem!!
10/10! If you live in or near Homestead (even if you don’t drive to this place!), Chefs on the run is a must! The food is absolutely amazing! The burgers are on another level, the pork is tender juicy and delicious and the arroz con gandules is great. The alcapurias and pork belly WOW WOW WOW! Oh and don’t skip on the key lime empanadas. The cherry on top of this gem are the owners. We spoke to the chef during on recent visit. You can tell how passionate he is about food in general. This passion translates to the food he cooks at his restaurant. Botton line- visit this place!!! You won’t be disappointed.
Everything we tried was so delicious - not a single miss. The service was friendly and prompt. This is a place we would return again and again if we were local. If you are looking for a truly outstanding burger - this is your place.
Ordered to go. Discount when using Chefs on the rum website. Food was ready slightly before pick up time. Delicious!
This is an amazing place in the middle of Homestead. I am so glad I decided to visit for lunch. It is a very small place, only a few tables, I would recommend to make a reservation just to be safe. The atmosphere was very cozy, lots of Puerto Rican decorations and nice Spanish music playing in the background. Unfortunately I did not get the name of the lady taking care of me, but despite having the place full, she took great care of me and answered all of my questions. The chicken mofongo was delicious, the flavor of the garlic sauce was perfect, tasty and not overwhelming. I saw some of the other dishes passing by ant the burgers looked delicious as well. I am looking forward to visit again with more people and try more of these great dishes.
Love this restaurant. My favorite burger spot. If you love burgers and your in homestead then you must go here. Just had the "what diet bro?" and OMG soooooo good. Plus with the "chipotle Mac n cheese" as a side you won't be disappointed. Walk away satisfied knowing you supported your local business and just had the best burger in your life!
This place was a very cool find! The food was delicious, and it had unique combinations of flavor.
Great food and even better people! This was our first stop in the area and we highly recommend adding it to your list. The flavor profiles were excellent and the owners of the restaurant were the sweetest people, providing the best service. Definitely worth putting on your list if you're traveling to the area.
This is the second visit. We had a food adventure. The mac n cheese is FABULOUS! Truffle oil lovers! The Polenta and Cheese sticks were superb! Since last time the quality has improved! The flavors of the Mongolian Bowl are still top notch. Everything can be combined with Sriracha. And they have this ‘Spiceology’ that is yummy. They have an outdoor seating area! It’s colorful and reminded me of Spain or Buenos Aires! The food is fabulous!
We had a great experience here! The food was delicious—everything we ordered was flavorful and well-prepared. We tried the pork belly, “I Just Want a Burger,” mofongo with fried pork, and the Ño Burger. Each dish had its own unique twist and was packed with flavor. Our server, Fatima, was fantastic—super friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The atmosphere was laid-back and welcoming. Definitely a spot we’d recommend and come back to!
I was really surprised how good this place was. Not sure about the seating because we walked around to the side and sat out back. The service was great and the food was delicious. Did not like that the tip was already on the bill but I understand. If you're looking for a great burger spot this is worth the stop.
My first time here, but I will be a regular! I ordered the mofongo platter, it came with white rice and stir fried vegetables and chimichurri sauce. The mofongo was perfect with the chimichurri. I don’t know how white rice can be so delicious? But my favorite were the stir fried vegetables they were done to perfection. Well cooked yet crispy with a very savory sauce. I highly recommend Chefs on the Run!
Great service and delicious food On the recommendation of our hotel's owners, we came here for dinner. We had a terrific meal - delicious hamburger with Parmesan truffle fries and amazing guava glazed pork loin. All the food was cooked and seasoned perfectly and the service was friendly and efficient. This is probably one of the best restaurants in Homestead!
Incredible food, best burger in town, amazing staff and family. This is exactly what a family owned small business is all about. The BEST
Is the most hamburger restaurant. The staff is absolutely attentive. The chef is friendly and super nice. Wow. Don't forget to come and meet this amazing restaurant.
WAO! the burgers are really great!!! order the promo 2x30 and was an amazing lunch!!! food quality is good, the meat great! really beef! definite will order again
I love Chefs on the Run SO MUCH. Every time I’ve eaten here all the food has been absolutely incredible. Truly spectacular flavors in all the dishes, but I always come back to the Ño Burger. Every staff member we have interacted with has been great. Everything here is out of this world. My only gripes are 1) cost is a little pricey for a burger by itself (does not even come w fries. End of the day everything is expensive these days, but I will say we would absolutely eat here all the time if it wasn’t so expensive. and 2) I feel like they are never open! I can’t even count the number of times we have said, oh let’s go have that, and then we check and they are closed. I recommend Chefs on the Run to anyone eating in Homestead and always say it’s one of the best burgers I’ve ever had in my life. Keep it up!!
Fast service and great food, would love to go again. I ordered the El parce burger, fries and a side of the Macarrones Con Res. The fries were crispy and the burger was surprisingly tasty and I'd order it again. The Macarrones Con Res was a different spin on the usual Mac and cheese that was still excellent. Service was courteous and fast.
We purchased Ay Dios Mio & Black & Blue & Oink 🐷. With key lime empanadas w/ice cream. Absolutely Delicious 😋 the flavors right on point. I had the Black & Blue & Oink and the blue cheese melted was absolutely full of flavor and a great parring with the AWSB (applewood smoked bacons.) The Ay Dios Mio had the crunchy plantains like hay with the spicy aioli was a great balance for the burger. We will be back soon. Love Chefs On The Run. We are so full we have to wait to review the Key Lime Empanadas for later. Yummy 😋
Nice, little establishment tucked inside Homestead. Park & walk. It's quaint with only 8 tables, but come and wake up your taste buds. Warm Mexican tiles provide cozy feel. Try a Funky Budha Pineapple Beach Blonde craft beer with their churrasco skewers, great combo. Everythings fresh & cooked to order. You can tell a lot about a place just from their salads. Fresh mixed greens with ripe cherry tomatoes and sun flower seeds! Great Mofongo, awesome burgers. No more needs to be said. Paintings of various kinds adorn bold colored walls, all for sale. A little bit of Wynwood in Homestead. Over all clean & friendly place. Definitely will come again.
Ze Smash Burger and desserts were DELICIOUS! We don't often eat out because it's expensive, but this food is worth every penny
When they say your tastebuds will thank you, Trust them! Outstanding service where you can taste all the love they put into each and every one of their dishes! Chef Jodrick and Jessica always go above and beyond to deliver nothing but the best. We’re so happy we found this little hidden Homestead gem a few years back. Be sure to try the tripleta…it’s AMAZING!
Went there for dinner for an early Friday night dinner. From the moment we walked in, service was excellent. Everyone was super attentive the whole meal, nobody walked by without asking how the food was, if we needed anything and/or cleaned up dishes. The food was DELICIOUS!!! Everything we ordered was so good. Servings were generous but not overwhelming. The brussel sprouts, shrimp mac and cheese, grouper (V-Day specials) and burger - chef's kiss. I can't stress enough how good the food was. Highly recommend!!
We ate there tonight, had seen good reviews. What great food! The best Mac and cheese I've ever had! Had a wonderful smoked flavor. The Chef sent fries to our table on him, how gracious! The only drawback is the place is small. They do have carry out. I highly recommend this place!
KEY LIME EMPANADA! DEEP FRIED CHEESE! Chefs are BUSY so not the quickest but worth waiting for.
Nice spot to enjoy some good food. I had the pork belly tostones and fried pork mofongo which were great. We sat outside in the patio area behind the building. Nice relaxing atmosphere. I'd recommend not eating out there in the heat of the day but it wasn't too bad. Service was great as well as the food.
Great place to stop between Miami and the keys. Food was fantastic in this five table joint. Eclectic selection of dishes with a Puerto Rican flair. The Grilled Cheese Burger was fantastic and the mofongo with pork and bone broth was enjoyed by all. Dessert was the Key Lime Empanada. Very tasty and so different than key lime pie.
I’ve never noticed this place but it came up on the Tuesdays reward app and gave it a try!!! It was sooo good. Very cozy restaurant and a little on the smaller side but the food didn’t disappoint. I had a burger which was great but the grilled cheese burger was even bettteer!! The fries were great too I recommend this place.
OMG! Sooooooo Good! One of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten in a long time in this little hidden gem of a place located in Homestead. Y’all these burgers were Juicy Flavorful, cooked perfectly. They offer a variety of Eclectic Hispanic dishes and delicious All star burgers in one place. I really recommend this restaurant. Absolutely delicious. I added before and after burger pictures. The Sangria was served in cute little hers and his cups. We had Alcapurrias as a appetizer. Yum! The El Parce burger. Yum! The What Diet Bro? Burger. Yum! Too full for dessert. Definitely next time…
Blew in while on our way to the Everglades. One of those serendipitous moments that make you appreciative of travel. We ordered the chipotle Mac appetizer, Chino Taino chicken sandwich with truffle fries, and the Mofongo with chicken. All I can say is wow. The Mac was one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. The birria combination with chipotle cheese was amazing. 10/10 would recommend. Mild spice that kept the dish toasty and complex. I have no words really for the Chino Taino. Wakame seaweed, bbq sauce, fried chicken, and aioli shouldn’t work. But this combination was everything I ever needed. The mofongo was perfectly executed. Atmosphere and service was great. Will be recommending to anyone planning a trip to south Florida, and we’ll be sure to stop back in for our future annual Everglades trips. I’m a big fan of tip being included on the tab, a practice I wish more establishments would utilize. Staff was respectful, informative, patient, and helpful. Parking may be a little tricky on busy days, but 100% worth it.
Recommend by a dear friend before getting to Florida City! Once in FC everyone talks about Chefs on the Run as a must visit. And it didn’t disappoint. It is a small restaurant but the chef is big at heart. You can order to go or sit down. Non- stop since we got there. It is always busy! Food was delicious, pretty much everything is good! I got a Cari-Bowl and the Alcapurria as an appetizer.
The food is incredible! Homestead does not have a huge variety even it comes to places to eat but Chefs on the Run is a true hidden gem. It is kind of hidden and tucked away right off of Krome Ave. & Mowry… if you aren’t looking for it, you might miss it. I highly recommend giving them a try! They have a great menu and the prices are good for the quality of food that they serve. Looking forward to going back.
First & foremost, the food was amazing, I highly recommend eating here! Although they're most known for burgers, they've got a number of different menu items and as someone who's a vegetarian, many of their menu options can be made vegetarian, and on top of that, they have several vegetarian-specific options.
MEALZ AND DEALZ REVIEW: 👊🏼😋👊🏼 So much flavor! We were in South Florida this weekend and we’ve been meaning to go to Homestead to try Chefs on The Run and you guys we finally did! I am so mad at us for missing out on such an amazing experience. Because honestly all their food is an experience of it’s own. Everything was literally amazing! I think it’s because the Chef takes the time to not cut any corners. He makes all his own sauces and rubs so everything has a personalized flavor. So for our appetizer we had the Habanero Chicken, Macarrones de Res, Alcapurrias and Bolitas de queso….omg seriously a day later we are still taking about the Habanero Chicken mainly because it was a completely different chicken nugget. It was super super crunchy and fresh with a kick of spice and the Blue cheese mousse made it a perfect bite. Like am literally gonna be craving that appetizer until I go back. The Alcapurrias were perfectly fried and not dry at all . The Bolitas de queso came with a guava sauce…It’s the best combination ever. The Macarrones de res was fire! If I could I would eat that macaroni every day. It was made with chipotle Mac n cheese with braised oxtail short rib beef , tomato sofrito, truffle oil and topped with pecorino Parmesan cheese. I can’t even tell you how amazing that Mac N Cheese is! The kids loved their meals. We have one of the pickiest eaters ever and our server was very accommodating to her and they made sure she was happy with her food. She loved every bite of her grilled cheese on Naan Bread. I had the Churrasco Mofongo… so If I see Mofongo on a menu that’s what I go for because I love the garlic and crunchy combination but sometimes it can be too dry…not here people it was perfect not overly dry not overly greasy it was amazing and the Churrasco had so much flavor in it …am not sure how am going to like any other Churrasco because I finally found a place that does it right. Dwight had the Tripleta sandwich. The tripleta is Puerto Rica street food with 3 meats on it. But this one was served on Naan bread and it was topped with a chimichurri Aioli. Dwight is still raving about it. The best tripleta he’s ever had and I can tell you my husband has had many tripletas in his life time. Then we took dessert to go and that made us want to go back for dinner but it was late and we needed to get home to Orlando. Seriously if you guys are looking for good quality food with amazing flavor Chefs on the Run has it all. The service is so accommodating and I seriously think we’re going to have to make a trip just to go back to eat there again because it’s actually that good!
This place is AWESOME!!! First time here and I was a little confused on how the ordering works when the restaurant is full, but we sat outside and the owner came outside and made us feel very welcomed. I recommend EVERYTHING!! Because all the food that comes out is made with LOVE!!!! You will not be disappointed here. It was worth the wait.
Went there because my boyfriend had insisted how much he wanted to come here despite me saying no in previous occasions and I felt mad at myself for not coming earlier. The food, service, and atmosphere was GREAT. I am a difficult customer and i felt very satisfied. My food hot, i ordered a burger and loved it! It was as great as the quality of a Lokal burger from coconut grove! The server and owner checked in on us to make sure we were pleased, loved the cups, I would definitely recommend and come back 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
It was the most delicious chicken sandwich I've ever tasted, excellent breading and flavor. Great fries as well and staff was friendly. Easily the best restaurant I've ever eaten at.
The menu had so many amazing dishes to choose from, it was hard to pick. The creativity and passion from the chef are very apparent. He is so personable! Just knowing how much heart has gone into creating these recipes probably would have made them taste even better if there was anything to left to improve on... But there wasn’t….this little gem on the corner was easily the best meal we had this week of vacation traveling around the state. We didn’t just go out to dinner, we had a culinary experience we won’t forget. Somewhat needs to invest in this restaurant and get this food more on the map. Try it now before they start charging what these meals are worth.
I can't tell you how much I enjoyed the food here. I rarely get that excited about food at a restaurant. I always find my self saying" I could do that at home" Not this time. We had some plantain appitizers ( surullitos) Awesome craft beer and a cocktail. Then we had Dios mio que Rico! Ended with the key lime emenada. Guys, let me tell you that meat was so perfectly done you couldn't tell where the meat and fat began. It was like buttered pork belly with a slight char crunch. The kind you see on burnt ends. I had goose bumps. Everything we ate was like gold. Don't let the small space or size of the restaurant throw you off. They are all so kind and helpful there. We found this by chance and it was the highlight of trip. There was nothing in key west that could compare to this. This chef has true passion for his work. Rarely seen. It's a very small place and the front is not much to look at but that's OK, more for me. They do take out all so if sitting isn't your thing, order to go, you won't be disappointed. My only regret is we live too far away. Next time it's the burgers. Everyone says they are awesome.
Found Chefs on the Run by watching an episode of Check, Please! South Florida, and we are so glad we stopped in after a meeting in Key Largo. First, we were greeted and served by Fatima, who is a great ambassador for the restaurant. Rarely have I had anyone thank me for "choosing" to visit before the meal. She was knowledgeable and delightful. This is a tiny place located in the historic district of Homestead, family-owned and run, filled with flavor and a love for the food. Jessica & her husband, Chef Jodrick Ujaque are present and clearly care about your dining experience. Expect quality ingredients, inventive use of flavors and excellent customer service. The Ay Ay Ay chicken sandwich was delicious. Juicy fried chicken breast, not greasy , and the habanero butter catches you in the back of your throat when you least expect it! The house sangria was terrific, not watered down or overly sweet. The strawberry flan was a nice change-up and perfect for an end-of-meal share. Driving to the Keys? Stop by for delicious, reasonably-priced casual fare that explodes with flavor and show this chef-owed business some love.
Amaziiiing. It’s a small place, but the food itself is an out of the world experience. We have the ño-sandwich and the fried chicken appetizer, it was creative and delicious. But the best of the best was the keylime empanada, OMG the level of detail and depth it’s amazing. Counting the days to go back.
We came thru town looking for a lunch spot. We had no idea what this restaurant was or served, but it had great reviews and appeared to offer a variety of cuisine. It is a small restaurant that also offers take out. We both ordered the house hamburger 🍔. WOW! What a burger it was. The side items were large enough to share, and we enjoyed every bite. Don't pass up it small, hidden gem if you are traveling thru the area.
I loved the food and coming from a picky eater this really taught me to have a bigger variety. I definitely recommend coming here if ur up to wait an hour for good food.
I see the place all the time. I have even Googled it a few times. I was looking for a restaurant that serves Vegetarian and Vegan meals. Well today we stopped by and my plus 1 and I were not disappointed. I had the Napoleon burger (Vegetarian Burger) with a salad. We also ordered the All American and Vigilante Burger with fries. Everything was delicious. We will definitely be back again.
Had the brunch burger and the smashed burger. The brunch burger was the best burger I've ever had and I don't say that lightly. Amazing burger. Had the key lime empanada for dessert was terrific.
This place has the most amazing burgers hands down! Service was great too. Love these small restaurants because they produce the best food! My compliments to the Chef!!
We are here after spending a day in Eveglades National Park. This place is amazingly delicious. My husband ordered the Dios Mio Pork, and I ordered the stir fry. We ended with a key lime empanada with raspberry sauce and ice cream. The whole meal had a nice presentation. The chef really takes pride in what they are creating... a masterpiece that looks as good as it tastes. It was the best meal we ate throughout our trip and that's saying a lot considering there's no shortage of good food in South Florida!
When our family takes a trip, we enjoying visiting local restaurants. We found Chefs on the Run and were not disappointed. The hamburgers were incredible! My son ordered the No! Chicken Sandwich which he said was delicious. Their is limited seating indoors, but they did have outdoor seating. The decor is awesome, they had what appeared to be local artists work hanging on the walls for sale. I would definitely recommend!
This was my 1st time dining here. I loved it. The ambiance was authentic and lovely. It has a nice dining area with about 5 tables. Restroom on premises for customers and very nicely decorated spaces. The food was beautifully presented and tasty. I ordered the pork belly appetizer and a regular cheeseburger with french fries for my main meal. I would recommend trying them out.
WOW! Really nice atmosphere. Some of the best food and service we have had in quite some time. The homemade sangria was delicious. We had pork belly and the mac as an appetizer— both delicious! The burger with pineapple jam was mouth watering. Perfectly cooked and juicy. Would definitely come back if we had time!
So grateful I randomly found this place. The food was fresh, perfectly seasoned, homemade and very tasty. The hummus is delightful, the french fries perfect and definitely don't skip on the dessert, especially the key lime empanada!!! There is no indoor dining sadly, but the little patio in the back is adorable and they have a ( super clean) bathroom out back. I will definitely visit again!
Stopped in for dinner after a snorkeling trip. Seated right away inside where there were a few tables (outdoor seating was available in the back). Had the Funky Buddha Lager and chicken mongolian bowl, daughter had the "I just want a burger"; green bananas appetizer. OUTSTANDING! The chef/owner came out to check on us and make sure we were satisfied. Just perfect. They add 15% gratuity, I added more. Highly recommend.
The best mofongo de I have incredible I know the chef for 11 years how are you looking for the best you can see on the awards that he have Incredible what amazes me was a recent have cancer the first thing that he say when he saw me one day how you doing that means you took time to look at me in my media. He cooks with love and passion I highly suggest if you are in the keys or in South Florida come and visit this award winning place
I can’t say enough good things about this. Wild little hole in the wall that has the best food I’ve had in a year. Genuinely crafted by someone who really cares. The staff was great and the food was incredible. There isn’t a bad thing in the menu. Queso fries, and the Caribowl were excellent. Absolutely do not skip the Keylime Empanadas. Can’t wait to come back here again soon. Seriously do not sleep on this!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The burgers at Chef on the Run are absolutely incredible! 🔥 Juicy, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection every time. You can really taste the quality and care that goes into every bite. The toppings are always fresh, the buns are soft but hold up perfectly, and the flavors are just on another level. Definitely one of the best burger spots around — highly recommend to anyone who loves real, delicious food! 🍔👏
We have catered from Chefs on the Run the last two years for Thanksgiving. The food is spectacular, soo tasty and well done. They use fresh ingredients and you can tell. They delivered to our home both times, were prompt and friendly. Moreover I can’t say enough good things about the meal. The turkey and pork were both delicious and perfectly cooked - they didn’t arrive dry at all. The sides were so good as well, and plentiful. I will continue catering from them for all our personal needs. 10/10 recommend!
We had the best experience to order a catering for Thanksgiving from Chef of the run. As a medical professionals that We have to provide services that day We were very happy to be able to have a great lunch. The food omg speechless and the service also. We ate here tonight, just on a Google search. We are from out of town visiting Keys and National Parks. We found this place absolutely delightful. Our waitress was friendly&sweet. We ordered the special smash burger, with plantains, bacon and a special sauce. So good. Also dessert was a key lime empanada with raspberry sauce and a scoop of cookies &cream ice cream, my husband said possibly one of the best desserts he's ever had. I had pumpkin spice flan, delicious also. Highly recommend.
Yo casi todos los viernes pido de ahí me encanta el parse hamburger pídanlo tiene una combinación de sabores que no se van a arrepentir
Buena comida. Cervezas artesanales. Ambiente boricua.
La comida super deliciosa. Y la sangria tambien.
My Son has been asking to check out the place. We always travel far for good burgers. We decided to stay local. Loved that it's Puerto Rican owned and that the food resembled it. The burgers where very good and filling. It is a little pricey. Would definitely visit again.
An awesome dining experience !! It’s a small restaurant located near homestead police headquarters. The food served had a twist to the regular American cuisine. The eggplant patty with the burger and the garlic sauce served along with the salad was a unique taste experience. They also serve local craft beer. Would highly recommend the restaurant to others.
Really good burgers. We had the chef La burger (pastrami, cheese, onions) and the el parce (pineapple jam and crispy plantains). Both were delicious. The fries were ok. Don’t bother with the truffle fries, they aren’t good and are very expensive for what you get. The key lime empanadas were good but the ice cream was better. Service was kinda slow. The place is tiny and has a shared back patio. FYI - they auto add a tip to your order.
We happened to be in the area and we heard good things about the place so we decided to stop by. The parking is either on the street or on the side of the building down a very narrow alley. So we go to the front of the store and the door is locked so then the lady comes to the door and asks us how many so we tell her just two so she tells us to wait outside the front door and comes back and tells us OK there's a table for 2 and that we should go around the alley and into the Courtyard around back so we walk around the back and we are proceeded to be seated at a small table that had an umbrella. The waitress was pleasant we reviewed the menu and decided to go with the Burger and fries. I guess they make it fresh because we had a way to little while peread generally I'm not a fan of soda so I order water and they bring a bottled water and a cup of ice. We get our food but they didn't bring ketchup so we had to wait for the ketchup. I like to fork my French fries to dip him in the ketchup but we were not rot utensils so we had to wait for a fork. So because I was eating with my fingers my hands got greasy and I needed a napkin so we had to ask for more napkins. Overall it was OK, a little pricey but everything is now very expensive. If it was the summer I definitely would not recommend going here because it was pretty warm in the Courtyard and they have no standing fans to cool you down.
The wait was a little long and a bit pricy for appetizers, but not too bad for this area. They did have options for Gluten and dairy free needs. Their burgers can be served using plantain tostones in place of the buns. It would be nice if they would offer some gluten and dairy free dessert options like a gf df key lime pie empenada using corn and coconut cream. I was unable to try the desserts since they all had gluten and dairy.
Had the award winning burger, Parmesan truffle fries, fried chicken sandwich, and chipotle mac & cheese to split with my husband. Burgers and sandwiches are HUGE. A bit too much sauce for my liking and the bun needs to be warmed. Just put a cold bun on a hot burger with all the fixins’ was odd. Parmesan truffle fries were just bigger fries with lots of Parmesan cheese, didn’t have much truffle taste. Chipotle mac and cheese was sooooo good, homemade tasting super fresh and hot and the right amount of spice. Yum! Parking is odd. Small table setup inside. Great, friendly server.
Over priced for the amount of food you get. Wasn't good to me and then they drown the food out with some sauce that's not even good like give people the option of if they want a whole bunch of sauce on their food and the tostones are salty seriously considering just going somewhere else for food and count my $54 as a loss so annoying. update. I ended up calling them explaining the situation and they returned the money for the two entrées so I appreciate that but it was a bad experience and now I have heart burn from the salty tostones
I guess today's an off day for them. Nice, discombobulated lady sat me in a small, front dining area. I read the entire menu, picked out my meal, waited a total of 15 minutes after being sat, then I quietly left. I think there must be another dining room or something else keeping her very busy today. I don't mind waiting for a quality meal to be prepared, please take the time to do it well. But I felt that I was forgotten. That makes me feel unimportant. Why would I spend money in a place that made me feel that way? Good luck with that....
