Highly recommend this Kendall sushi staple. They have been at this location for over 30 years now. Prices are very reasonable and the sushi is always incredible. Fish has always been fresh. They have great lunch specials and very helpful staff. They have great specials for the bar as well.

I've had sushi for almost every meal for the past 24 hours and I was still so excited to come here. Wasn't crowded at all and me and my group got to sit in the back corner in the recessed table spot it was neat. Our server was very helpful and knowledgeable with questions and our food came out quickly so all of that was wonderful. The Tamago nigiri was the best I've ever had and I say that because I don't really like Tamago that much at all. But I was pretty impressed. The toro nigiri was no doubt delicious, melted in your mouth. Very rich. I got a Fuji sushi and sashimi combo that was very very good. Their Hamachi and Tuna tataki were my favorite on the plate. My friend greatly enjoyed his steak teriyaki as well as the pork katsu. The spicy pork Tonkotsu was fantastic. Everything down to the noodles was homemade I believe. I think the best bite of the meal was the Godzilla Roll. It was perfectly balanced. Very flavorful. Great texture. Excellent sushi spot. If you are in the area stop by!

Definitely worth coming to this place, we ended up trying it for the first time. We were heading somewhere else but for some reason that shopping center was blocked off from the other one which was where we were going but I guess it was meant to be. Let me start by saying it's a small place nothing fancy about it but well worth the food in my opinion. The service was great considering they only had 2 servers from what I can tell none the less it was good service. The sushi was one of the best me and my fiancee have tasted in a while. I'm glad we ran into this sushi bar/restaurant. Would recommend this to anyone and I'm definitely going back this time we are taking my mom. See you guys soon!!! And thank you for the great service 😀

Leo, Simmone and the entire team were increíble and the food was delicious. First time here and it will not be our last time. Prices are fine. We had two ramens, lobster roll, gyoza, edamame and the tuna wrap for $100. Any other part of Miami would’ve been different. Support local and enjoy!

As someone who’s eaten in restaurants all over Japan, this restaurant comes closest to the food I tasted on my trips to Japan. Authentic, delicious, affordable, hands down the best Japanese restaurant you’ll find in Miami. The staff is incredibly nice, the chefs turn out food very fast, large menu, and the quality is superb, and the prices are extremely reasonable. I’ve been eating at Fujiya for almost a decade, and Every single visit had been wonderful. Highly highly recommend you visit it.

Went to lunch with my visiting sister and we both absolutely loved it!!! Food was incredible, the sashimi was amazing and you could both see and taste the quality! Ended the lunch with their donuts and they are perfect! Not overly sweet, with a sweet condensed milk and adzuki beans. Tastes incredible and a great way to end the meal. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Cannot express how much I love this restaurant! It is amazing. The food is always delicious, the staff is friendly and always welcoming. And the aesthetics of the place are amazing. I come here 2-3 times a month and I’m never disappointed. I will say their specialty sushi’s are the best and totally worth every dollar. I know some people do come here for ramen, but I honestly ramen is not really their thing. They are definitely more of a sushi restaurant. If you’re wondering what your best options are here is a solid list: Starters: Hiyayakko, Miso soup, Spicy Tekka hosomaki roll Sushi: American Dream, BCBS roll, hurricane roll, ninja roll, tuna lovers roll. Kitchen: Katsu-don, pork fried rice Drinks: Ramune, Sapporo, Sakes

This place is amazing. Best sushi in Miami and the people that work there are the kindest. I am a regular there. They make you feel like family. The fish is always fresh and the macha (green tea) is awesome. Very traditional decor and they have all the extra safety measures since this pandemic started. If you want real Japanese cuisine come here.

Service was amazing, Javier our server did a great job, food was fresh and came out quick. We absolutely loved our time here and we want to give a special thank you to David for his hospitality. Making our experience feel like we were part of the family. Highly recommend

Been ordering with these guys for well over 15 years. But now for take-out orders they have their own website, which lets you add/subtract options x items - love this. Now on to what we ordered bunch of dinner portions - chicken & beef with side of sushi. All were very neatly wrapped & got text message (oh ya , their own take out service also provides this) to pick up our take out. Amazing service as always. Domo.

Sushi was delicious , their fried rice had plenty of different vegetables which was awesome but taste could have been better. My kids loved their Miso Soup. Customer service was great and very friendly even though they had been very busy. I always appreciate when waiters acknowledge my kids and don't disregard them our waitress was simply amazing and that in itself is worth a trip back.

Very nice place, we got two of the lunch specials and they were very good with a good amount of food that leave d you satisfied and not overly grossed out with yourself. Decent prices and authentic Japanese food.

Absolutely, fantastic food clearly cooked with the utmost heart and soul. It’s a cozy place where a lot of effort and skill is put into these entrees. Their Chicken Katsu, has a perfectly crispy breading, giving a super satisfying crunch, while being so delicate. I would recommend everybody give this place a try as it is one of those places that instantly gives you fireworks going off in your tastebuds. 10/10

First time I've been here and I was blown away! Delicious sushi, soups, and fried rice. I've been trying different Japanese Restaurants around Kendall since Fuji Hana closed down and this is definitely the best one. I also love their setup on the inside, very traditional. This will be my new sushi spot from now on.

Best Japanese Restaurant in Miami bar none! Located in Kendall and serving up the most delectable Sushi on the planet! Place is super clean! Friendly faces. Warm atmosphere. Truly exceptional hospitality! And your food is delivered fast with minimal waiting time! Ambiance is very nostalgic with ambient lighting. Fujiya is definitely worth the try and I highly highly recommend it! 5-stars ALL THE WAY!

My son and I have been going to Fujiya for over 20 years! It is the best sushi in Miami. Yes, it's in Kendall, but it is worth the drive. Family owned and operated! The staff is wonderful and some have been there since our first visit, that should tell you something! Always fresh, I have NEVER had a bad meal and the prices are comparable to any sushi restaurant, so why not go to the best!

The best Sushi place in miami. I adore this restaurant! The food is amazing plus affordable. The staff however, is the best. Super attentive, caring, and knowledgeable! I went one time with my boyfriend and a different waitress than the one serving us noticed we need water, she noticed i had no ice and refilled the glass at the table with no ice. I know it sounds dumb, but i have been to many places where little details are forgotten. I have been coming here since I was a little girl. To this day there is no sushi restaurant that can compare!

My favorite sushi spot in Miami. I’ve been coming here since the early 90’s and have never had a bad experience. Always a pleasure, look forward to the warm greeting from the staff every time I walk in the door and the food... well, they haven’t been open this long because it’s bad. In my opinion, best and freshest seafood In this city!

The ramen is amazing! Even to go! And let’s not get started with the rolls... they’re all amazing and each rolls are unique. Overall their food is amazing and very delightful as well as the service and each server there, they make you feel as if you are at home with the family. :) - Javi

Our go to sushi spot for years. Even now that I moved to homestead I still drive up just to come here. Godzilla roll is incredible. This place is hands-down my favorite spot! I’ve been coming here for a while now, and it’s always amazing. The food is top-notch, and the vibe is just right. Leo is the best—super friendly, on point, and makes every visit feel special. If you’re looking for great food and even better service, this is the spot. Highly recommend!

Great little spot for food I found looking for ramen, went on a not busy time in the afternoon. I got the tonkotsu ramen. It had an amazing roast pork flavor. Like I think it was the textbook definition for a roasted pork flavor, and I was extremely happy with it. I also had a plate of sushi I forget what was called. Had tuna and salmon pieces with spicy crab mix. Was also very good sushi Staff was super nice and friendly, I always had a drink, that never ran empty. Would absolutely return

We live in Kendall and had not dined here in a while. The food quality, authenticity and service are now better than I remember. We orderered the tuna nachos, hurricane roll, a few maki hand rolls and the most delicious ramen we've ever tasted. The recently arrived Japanese Chef that prepared the omakase ramen came out to introduce himself and his tasty wonderful creation that was not on the menu. He later surprised our 10yo with an amazing creamy / crispy thai donut dessert. The waiter/manager Leo was extremely attentive and made the entire experience A1! Definitely returning soon.

I used to visit all the time back in 2020…somewhere down the line the menu changed a bit and I didn’t visit it as much, but today i visited again and I am so happy to say that It is so back!!!!!! Today I went to try the usual food I used to order and it was as delicious as when I first had it. Fujiya is one of the most authentic japanese places I know and their menu is so special and specific to them, they are great at what they do and I would never change anything about the menu the way it is! I love visiting so much…only thing I would change is that I do wish the music was more japanese like how it used to be, but other than that great restaurant overall, great environment, good prices!

Fantastic, our server was Sachy and could not have asked for a more wonderful and enjoyable server. She was able to explain everything perfectly, and staff was very attentive to our needs. Food was delicious, as always. Fresh sushi that was filling for our appetites. My son tried the kids fish for the first time and loved it. He usually gets the fried chicken, but wanted to try something new. There’s lots of variety to pick from, sometimes I am torn on what to pick! Definitely a great place to dine and enjoy company with family and friends.

Service always A+!!! Food always fresh & delish! We had Stir-Fry Shrimp & Vegetables (comes rice & side of soup or salad), Deep Fried Bagel (salmon & cream cheese) w/ eel sauce (always a winner!!) & Tempura Soba / Udon (noodles in broth topped w/ shrimp tempura), Green Tea & Light Beer. Very cozy place. We eat here at least twice per month. Clean restroom. One of my fave restaurants.

A friend recommended this place to me when I mentioned missing authentic Japanese food. I'm so glad they did! The ramen is absolute heaven and the steamed gyoza were amazing as well. I didn't order sushi, but others at my table did and it looked incredible! I'll be ordering that next time. The service was good and there was no wait for lunch on the weekend. I will definitely be returning again soon! UPDATE: The sushi is AMAZING and the chicken katsu is to die for. I love this place and can't recommend it enough!

This is officially (IN OUR OPINION) the best Japanese restaurant in West Kendall. 🤴🏼 No offense Ruson, Shabui, or any other great sushi spot in #westkendall Peeps, if you want great Japanese food, rools, sashimi, Hamachi, hirame, Unagi, Ebi, toro, sake etc. this is your place. If your have a big family, ask for the table to the left inside the floor, 😉 ((((((@WEAREKENDALL)))))) On Instagram and Facebook.

The food is great and always fresh. I've been going there for years and always see families go there. Their servers have been also there for many years and remember you every time you go in. Leo is amazing! Excellent service. Shuji is excellent. I just came back from Japan and the ramen here is exactly like the ramen I had in Japan. Authentic and the taste is one of a kind here in Miami. The miso garlic was what we ordered, I cannot stress this enough it is excellent.

Delicious, consistent and even better with the staff being so nice. January 2026 Update: Lala's Burgers has officially taken over this address. Hoping to Update with a new address for Fujiya Japanese Cuisine. Feel free to reach out with any information you might know about their new location (if they get one at all).

I've been here a few times while visiting my family in Miami and I think this place is great! Food is always fresh and the spot is cozy. This is definitely a hidden gem in West Kendall! We always start with the seaweed salad and the shrimp and vegetables tempura, so yummy and crispy! And all the rolls that I've tried so far have been really good. My favorites are the shrimp tempura roll, Tuna Lovers and Fuji rolls! I've heard good stuff about their ramen. I will for sure give it a try next time I'm in town!

Came for lunch on a Sunday and it was not very busy. The service was great from the moment we walked in until we left. Our server was very attentive the entire time. We ordered a tonkatsu ramen and a American dream roll of sushi. The sushi must be their specialty , it was absolutely delicious. It was freshly made and you can see your sushi being made. I would definitely love to come back and try other rolls. Now unfortunately the ramen was not good. It had big pieces of pork but they were dry, The egg was fridge cold and the broth was flavorless. Definitely would not recommend.

A
Alan Disla

The service here is the best I have experienced in a long time. Everyone greeted us and have incredible manors. It was a fantastic lunch experience. The only thing that was lacking for us was the flavoring of the Sushi itself. It was not bad honestly, but it was kinda bland if I'm being honest. It was lacking personality and flavoring. Maybe some salt in the rice, maybe some other flavoring that could have brought out the dish itself. The miso soup was honestly the best I've ever had, but the sushi unfortunately was not. It's unfortunate because the service was so kind, warm, and over all pleasant. I give them a four out of five because it isn't my favorite flavor choices, but I can't deny how special this place is as a place to enjoy lunch.

A
Alcides Díaz

Little gem in West Kendall. The staff is almost entirely Japanese. The food is very beautifuly presented and fresh. We were a family of five and everyone loved it. If you happened to be in the West side of Kendall definitely give them a try. Don't let the small place confused you, it's very good.

Ordered the chicken teriyaki which I would recommend to pass on. However I tried the sushi my friends ordered and it was very tasty! Unfortunately I did forget what they ordered. Staff was very friendly and attentive. No desert was ordered. We were offered the tatami area, but we passed due to an injury in the group. The restaurant doesnt feel very crowded, and they can accommodate for large groups.

It was a good experience ramen was really delicious and i also ordered a what it seems a baked mussels which is really awesome and yummy. My husband ordered a yakisoba and egg fried rice it was also really good. The rice is super soft and its not like other fried rice which is hard to swallow and get stuck in your throat. Their fried rice is really soft to swallow and tasty. Should come and try.

The restaurant is a small, typical sushi spot. It was clean, and the atmosphere was pleasant enough. Unfortunately, the service left something to be desired. We felt rushed throughout our visit—despite asking for a moment to decide, the staff seemed eager to move things along. While the food was served quickly, our check was brought to the table as we were still finishing our meal, without us requesting it. This made the experience feel a bit rushed and impersonal.

The outside is very appealing so I entered expecting really good Thai food (I worked in an extremely good Japanese Restaurant for 7 years ). I ordered a roll the with tempura shrimp wrapped in spinach the shrimp batter was hard and cold and the wrap was soggy 🤢 it was returned and they were very good to me about the return ( however that’s a loss for them) I will never order sushi from them again. I am a local so I would have been there at least 3x a month. I feel the restaurant can also be cleaner. All the different little Asian figurines are dusty and the restaurant looks a bit dingy The staff is real nice and it seems they do have some locals taking advantage of their happy hour. I truly wanted to give them a better review however, since the manager who was there didn’t return to speak to me about the return. This is what I felt. I went next Door to the Colombian restaurant and finished my dinner there!! As you can view below the color inside the roll isn’t very appetizing 😞

S
Samer Yorde

The restaurant it's not pretty, no fancy, but have more than 10 year open, so that's a good point. Good sushi, and great professionals in the sushi bar.

E
Elda Broccolo

The food was below my expectations, the octopus was hard and with a very sharp taste, I did not like the eel sauce at all, we ordered a sushi with crab but it had no flavor at all, the Hawaiian sushi, I did not like it, I expected a richer and more complex flavor and the pineapple feel like old. The place is different, it seems that you have moved to the past, the attention is good.

D
Diana Aleman

I've been coming to this restaurant for over 10 years. The staff was always friendly and the service was the best. The ownership changed and I wanted to give them a chance but I have been throughly disappointed with the service. Today I arrived to over 4 dirty tables, staff running around and no one caring that they had customer standing at the door. A waitress finally came over and said have a seat love but when we said, where all the tables are dirty she just walked away. Another waitress came and pointed us to a table we went to sit down and it was also dirty. It is a shame. I feel like I lost a family style restaurant even the original staff has gone. A real shame.

R
Rochelle Campo

My family and I have been coming here for years and sadly we encountered the new management last night. The service was terrible, took us 20 mins just to get our order in. That's never happened before. The apps came after our mains and the food quality just wasn't the same. Most of the old friendly, great people are gone. Time to find a new sushi place. Thanks to the old Fujiya for the great food and memories.

s

Up until the Pandemic this was the best local sushi around. I've been eating there for 20 years. Sadly, in the last 2-3 years the sushi has lost its taste. The same dish, the rice and the fish are now being prepared by new chefs. I don't know what they are doing, maybe they are buying from a different vendor. Its just not the same. Prices have almost doubled (understandable) but it's not the same quality. It's too bad because the owner an severs are excellent.

J
JP

I've only ordered take away from here. This restaurant is extremely hit-or-miss. The fried rice is usually fresh and tasty, but I have had an experience where it was stale and very oily. The sushi is fine and reasonably priced. The cooked entrees are extremely variable in quality and value. I recently ordered Chicken Teriyaki and it was sad. For $22, I got one sliced small chicken breast with sauce drizzled over, two slices of carrot (not two carrots), two pieces of broccoli, two slices of orange, and about a cup of white rice. The quality was about the same as a Chop Chop bowl from Chicken Kitchen, but for twice the price and less food. Perhaps the food is better if you dine-in. To sum it up, go for sushi and fried rice. Avoid cooked entrees.

Food and variety ok, place could be better, should improve the vibe. Too expensive. 110 x 3 p. An employee was sleeping on a mat by a corner floor-table?! Nato roll was v good.... but we prefer Matsuri.

This definitely wasn't the best Japanese restaurant I've been to. The food was subpar at best and hard to finish. The broth of the Ramen was extremely salty, takoyaki was more mush than octopus. The waitress was very kind and attentive, though. She was definitely the highlight of visiting this restaurant. Edit: The food made me sick. Unfortunate.

EDIT 2: Been 2 years since the edit. Unfortunately I have to drop the 5 stars. This place is no where near as good as it used to be. It's been months since I even bothered to go. The food has really gone downhill, I don't know if there are new owners or something? But it feels like they're trying to focus more on being a flashy nice *looking* Japanese place than being a place with amazing food and service. Shame because there's no point in looking nice if your food is overpriced garbage which is basically what its become. I honestly don't see myself going back again. EDIT: I wrote this review 4 years ago, apparently. I just wanted to take a moment to update it to let people know that I have regularly continued to visit this place throughout this entire time, and my 5 stars remain. This place is a must go if you're looking for delicious AND authentic Japanese food, good sushi, and probably some of the best service you'll find anywhere in Miami. It's really nice that this place has remained so consistently good for so long. ORIGINAL POST: This is absolutely without a doubt in my mind, the BEST Japanese restaurant in Miami. If someone thinks some other place is better, that's just because they've never been here. The food is absolutely delicious, fresh, made to order and authentic. The service is phenomenal. The staff there is so nice warm and welcoming every single time. If you haven't been here and you're looking for a great Japanese place to have a nice night out, this is definitely the place. An absolute must go.

If you go based on recommendation, be aware, this place has a new chef/management/owner. Different from before. I WAS a 10 plus year customer. Been there twice since the change. It's quite different now. Ordering substitutions while acknowledging/offering to pay extra is now an issue?? Servers not as welcoming, etc. It's like they are willing to turn away business. I get that. So, as a customer, I get to choose, and I will.

I think this will be my last visit in a long time. Over the last 3 years I noticed a new menu and the lunch specials went from 11.95 to 17. I've brought many friends as I feel the food is fresh but this establishment has priced itself out. I noticed only a couple of tables for lunch. Also I don't like to get nickel and dime as my companion wanted more ginger an there was a charge of $1. Green tea has also gone up, little details. There are many alternatives for lunch...sayonara

The food is EXCELLENT, but the service leaves A LOT to be desired. How do they treat repeat customers who drive 35 minutes to get takeout? They tell you when you arrive that they didn’t make your order because they’re short staffed. Order placed at 6:40pm. Pickup time 7:20pm. Arrived 7:27 to be told, “Oh, we were about to call you.” That’s NOT good service.

I've been eating at Fujiya for years, they used to be amazing, the food used to be really good but lately the recipes seem different & don'ttaste the same. I gave them another chance today and was appalled to find out that the chicken in my mom's fried rice was raw, they barely cooked it. That's a huge risk for food poisoning. I dont know what happened to this place but I definitely will not be coming back. Fair warning to all to double check and make sure your meats are properly cooked prior to eating so you don't get sick.

Went to try this restaurant and when I arrived was offered “tea” I tried it and got an allergic reaction had to go to the hospital. My daughter stayed waiting for the food as we had already ordered but due to my tongue swelling up I could not wait. When my daughter arrived home with the food she took to go we discovered that we were charge $38 per meal for 5 think of chicken and 4 of steak and one sushi roll plus $9 per roll upgrade. Please see picture below. It was a rip off. Also turns out the tea is not just tea it has several different indigents not just tea. They should really disclose that first.

WoRst Customer Service!! Completely unacceptable!!! Never got my paid order !!! I’ve been ordering from here several times , this place is close to my home and the food is decent. FiRST let me say that we have had issues before with our order where we have gone to pick up and the order was lost . Now the really UGLY part… I made a delivery request online , And got confirmation my order will arrive around 9:30-9:50pm.. I called at 10:05pm at the girl said my order was sitting at the restaurant . HORRible customer service … No one called , no one apologized , no one offer anything as compensation for the mistake … Ok so you think well anyone makes a mistake right? When i spoke the receptionist she said she will find out with the owner how the issue can be solved .. NO one called me back , I called at 10:15pm and I was told my order will still be delivered even after hours. (Restaurant close 10:30pm).. was almost midnight NEVER got my order !!!! Once again No one called, No apology . So … I will be calling today to get my refund of $34 Dollars that I was charged online when i place my order and I will NEVER give you my business again !!! No stars 0 !!

First off let me say they did warn us the food was going to take an hour to get out. However it took far longer than that. Arrived at 8:30 and was seated at a very dirty table. was finally done by 10:30. Everyone at our table got their foods at vastly different times. The food was fast food quality at best. You'd probably be better off ordering online because it looks like they prioritize those orders first.

The Ramen soup is very bad. Instant noodle cup with can beef broth. 2 tiny Tonkotsu pieces. Not worth $12 for what I got.

I ordered from this restaurant for delivery tonight, spending nearly $100, and unfortunately, the experience was highly disappointing. The teriyaki chicken we ordered, both regular and kids’ meals, arrived cold, plain, and without the vegetables we specifically requested. To make matters worse, the ‘teriyaki sauce’ was actually hoisin sauce. The volcano roll was topped only with spicy mayo, missing the other toppings it’s supposed to come with, making it unappetizing. The eel roll was poorly made, broken, and had an unpleasant, old smell. On top of that, the ginger smelled like mildew. The overall quality of the food was unacceptable, and to top it off, we weren’t even offered a refund. I’m very dissatisfied and would not recommend ordering from here.

I had it at 5 stars, changing to 1. I spent $122 on food to be harassed about having ordered it online when I picked up. My mom wrote in the notes eel sauce please, not realizing you could just order it. Whoever it was who helped me went on and on about how we went about ordering the sauce. So the sauce, how much is it? $1? I said hey no big deal, I can pay for it now. I’m here. No no, it’s fine they said. So is it fine or not? It was a big deal 5 seconds ago when I was being lectured. As someone who works in a restaurant, when an orders total needs to be changed due to something left in the notes of an order, we just call them and inform them. It’s met with a “no problem.” It was written on the receipt already, in addition to the lecture I was met with. Also, any online ordering site says clearly that things written in the notes may have an up charge. I agreed to that when I ordered online. So rude…. Over a side of sauce. Will not be returning. I understand this not a big chain restaurant, but kindness is free. Something like “hey, thanks for ordering! I apologize for the inconvenience but I have to charge for the eel sauce ordered on the side.” It’s really not hard. So many ways this could have been handled better.

Wasn’t supposed to leave a written review but it seems like the owner can’t stand a 1 star review. LoL i didn’t even remember commenting I loved or was enjoying the ramen. I was even hoping the ramen would taste great since it’s a Japanese Restaurant but still lacking the savory I was looking for. I or we didn’t even finish the ramen as you can see reviewing the cameras. The sushi was good since it has “cream cheese” on it. Thanks for being so aggressive and defensive with the 1 star review. Btw, That’s good you didn’t get in trouble. LoL

My family has brought me here since the day I was born, it was not only my favorite but the only sushi restaurant that I trusted. The team that was here before used only the freshest and best ingredients. Everything has taken a complete turn with whoever is now managing. The prices have skyrocketed while the food has completely lost it's quality. This is by far the most regretful review I have ever had to leave. It is truly sad what has happened to this establishment. When I was a child, the man behind the sushi counter used to make me a mickey mouse out of oranges and orange peels. I thought that when I was older, I would bring my child there to experience the same thing but things change and time passes. I will not be able to continue to support this establishment. I wish nothing but the best for all of the amazing people who started this place and worked the business for so many years, only occasionally taking trips back home. You will forever be loved by the Kendall community and a true staple of our lives

My husband and I used to absolutely love this place. Before 2020, we dined here at least once a week, sometimes even more. The food, staff, and atmosphere were all so authentic, and I could even practice my Japanese with the team. The food was incredible, and the prices were reasonable, making it a truly special spot for us. Unfortunately, after it came under new management following the pandemic, everything that made it so amazing has been lost, which is heartbreaking. Losing this place has been deeply painful, but we've had no choice but to move on.
