Pulled pork nachos are fantastic (and the portion size is huge for an app). Some of the best bbq I've had. Glad we tried it out. (Visiting from Michigan).
Pride and Joy is one of Mark Mixons BBQ Pitmasters brainchild this has to have one of the coolest bars in Miami a truck which its grill is converted into a tap station. This place is great one of my favorite things on th menu is the chicken cupcakes this by far beats out the other southern appetizers on the menu. While I am not a big fan of their BBQ brisket I do enjoy their ribs anbd pulled pork. Plenty of seating indoor and outdoor and a great place for groups as their boards can accommodate lots of people .
One of the best BBQ places I have ever been to. AMAZING food. Amazing service. Good atmosphere great all round experience. I will come again and again!
First time eating here, the staff was good and very friendly. I wanted BBQ and was not disapointed at all, the ribs were great with and without adding the souces
If you are in Miami and you want some authentic southern food this is the place to be. The food was incredible. Make sure you try the cornbread. The only downside was that they close at 12am on Sat so get there early. They also had a great DJ on Saturday playing classic hip hop and R&b. Check him out in Miami/DJ Tillery James.
The nachos were always something to come back to. I was caught licking the bowl of my Mac and cheese because I didn't want it to end. Bringing a group of friends to have a feast is the best way to enjoy a dinner, and make sure to share the brisket.
Delicious ribs and sauces!!! Ate with my two young daughters and they also loved the Rib Mac & Cheese (I did too!) cool location in Wynwood, you can eat either inside or outside.
I am from Texas. I know bbq. Pride and Joy catered our team lunch and I was HIGHLY impressed with their brisket, baked beans, cornbread, and bbq sauce!! The only thing left to be desired was sweet tea, but I along with my team were extremely pleased.
Jose is a new bartender and he's great. Always attentive and has some great cocktails!! Fatima is great as well. The managers always take care of me!
Served my Stephan. Excellent service. None traditional but just right. Felt welcomed and at home. The food was great and the beats were bumping. Great way to end this Sunday.
Fantastic BBQ and friendly service, Has a nice outdoor area as well as a large indoor area. Me and my friend stopped in for dinner and it has become a weekly event. Nothing we ordered was anything less than great. Combined me any my friend ordered the following: Appetizer - Mac & Butt (some if the best mac-n-cheese i have ever had) - Wings Meals: - Buffalo Chicken Sandwhich - Brisket Cheese Streak Dessert: - Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie - Peach Cobbler
I love this restaurant from the murals to the food! The server was very helpful also they are very tech-savvy. But their cocktails suck from the Honey Boo Boo cocktail to the Moonshine yuck😣. They need to work on their Mixology with those signature drinks
Great food, great service and great ambiance. We love to sit outside. You feel like you are somewhere else. The ribs are awesome and the fried pickles amazing! The man n cheese was sort of a disappointment. I am a mac n cheese connoisseur per se and it was just meh. The beer selection was also great and my husband loved the corn bread. We shared a banana cream pie for dessert and it was to die for. We love coming here for good bbq but we always come out smelling like we were in the smoker for hours!
We have had 2 wonderful experiences at Pride and Joy. The food is great and the bar staff is wonderful. Lito and Willie are great with customer service and also very fun to deal with. We highly recommend the place to all our friends and associates and will be back soon ourselves.
The food was AWESOME. I was able to meet one of the cooks by the name of Antonio. He was very funny and polite. My server was Excellent. Food came out fast and HOT I was super full and cant wait to visit there again this weekend
Excellent place. Party of 11 and very well attended, they move tables and arrange so we can fit. Informal, we eat outside in one of the nice long picnic like tables, food is very good and cool ambient music. A must: St. Louis Ribs, Pulled Pork, BBQ Baked Beans, French Fries.
I stopped in one day and ordered a buffalo sandwich and a beer and left happy. The food was spot on. A small selection of craft beer but they have good ones, like Titan IPA. The employees were polite and attentive.
Since moving to Miami, I've gone here twice! I'm not one for regular bbq, I like dry rub and this place has it. They have a great atmosphere, service is prompt and friendly. Don't be afraid to ask for what you want, for me each time I've been I've asked for an additional dry rub for my brisket and without fail they bring it out. The last time I was there they even had a great berry cider - talk about that sneaking up on you! Parking is easy, and the food is great. It's one of my go to places in Miami.
amazing bbq, the brisket is cooked to perfection, the baby back ribs, the smoky flavor was perfect the attention is perfect super friendly. the place was perfect. the corn bread it was good also, the pulled pork as perfectly cooked but the flavor I didn't understand. the price was good considering the amount of food. perfect 100% recomended
Just read they give you comp bread, I didn't get any. They had run out of anything pulled pork so I went with the country fried chicken with mash potatoes and veggies. It was real good. I will be back to try the pull pork stuff because I hear great things. Also, the service was real friendly and fast. I'm glad Pride and Joy is in the area because the food in the area is not all that great for what you pay like The Butcher Shop, which is a cool bar with crappy expensive food.
It's a nice spot. They're currently doing some construction so they don't have access to the majority of their property. I have been informed that in the next 3-5 months everything will be done, up and running. The food is fantastic. Pricing is about what you would expect for the area. Plates average at about $15 but the portions are hearty and the food quality is fantastic! Ambiance is cool. They have that rustic wood look going for them. It's a really nice place to check out.
Ambiente familiar
me encanta!!!♡♡♡♡ la comida el servicio! Si vienes a Miami no olvides pasar por aqui!
Delicioso
Great ribs! I had been twice and had great entrees! now it is fair to say that if you arrive early in the afternoon, you may not find everything in the menu as they smoke their pork and brisket the same day.
Takeout service was amazing good food fast and friendly. I haven't sat inside yet but soon then I'll give an update. The owner kid was a little arrogant at such a young age, lol!
What can I say? My weakness is great BBQ and you get exactly that. There were renovations going on when I was there last so service suffered but still, the BBQ was amazing. The BBQ brisket is my favorite dish there.
Really nice place and great service, I would definitely come back! Beer was great, baby back ribs perfect. Potato salad was disappointing but no big deal. Pecan pie is awesome!
A great play on southern cooking. Aside from great bbq they also have amazing fried chicken. You definitely want to give them a try for Sunday brunch as well.
This place has really good food for a moderate price, even their Mahi sandwich is good which is good. The only reason this is not a 5 review is because they don't have chilli, all great BBQ places have great chilli, should consider adding it to their menu, great food and atmosphere overall.
Giving our waiter a break and giving 4 stars, being it was a Wednesday night at 9:30, they ran out of a few of their starters and had NO local beer on tap which made no sense. Then the bottled beer they had only local was Funky Buda, which I like, but you're in wynwood!!! Disappointed..... but the food they had was very good and specially the Brussel sprouts! Those were amazing....
I was treated to lunch here today. The "Mac & Bac" was delicious! The regular Mac & cheese that came with my entree was bland, though. The pulled pork was just ok until I added the BBQ sauce and then it was tasty. It paired really well with their BBQ baked beans which were great. The corn bread was good, though I tend to like mine a little sweeter. Overall, it was a tasty meal. If I'm ever in Wynwood, I will definitely come back.
I had the the st.louis ribs, very very good. My friends had the sloppy joe brisket sandwich, which the said was the best ever. My only drawback is that food comes with no sides, extra, 3.95 per side and it was a little pricey. Will definitely go again, but not as often, due to the price
Three of us had their big combo dinner. Everything was great. The waitress handled the food promptly but was slow to deal with the check. We will definitely go back.
The best part of my visit to pride and joy was the atmosphere. The back patio is open and spacious with great music playing. The tables are all wooden benches, which gives it that real country feel. I ordered the ribs which were smoked and seasoned with a dry rub. They aren't the "fall off the bone" type of ribs, but still very tasty when paired with the great barbecue sauces. One of my favorite parts was definitely and corn bread and drink selection. Aside from the food, our service was great and I would recommend any barbecue love to give it a try.
very friendly waitress! the ribs were not that good i hoped. they were overcooked and partly black. why not putting a great bbq sauce on them? might be great... the sides were ok. great coleslaw.
While this is a "BBQ" restaurant, it's important to know that they specialize in dry-rubs, not sauces; which is what usually comes to mind to me when I think of BBQ joints. However, the food was delicious and I particularly liked their potato salad and mac and cheese sides.
Food took a very long time, don't smell the smokey BBQ atmosphere anymore. Ambience changed and the quality of food really changed. Service was great.
The service was incredible and the food was super tasty (had the lunch combo - would recommend). Rating is down as the alcoholic drinks are SO expensive! Just unnecessary. Prices not even marked, thank god we asked. A bottle of beer for $9?! Ridiculous.
Walking in , greeted right away (awesome) Loved the vibe and the ambiance. Expected better of the ribs. Being a bbq place meat was chewy not tender. My husband loves ribs and this was first time he did not eat it . Was not offered sauces. Server was very sweet but service was slow. We really wanted to love this place.
Nicely designed restaurant and a very likely place. Experienced bong food for the first time and have a very mild feeling of taste. Service was good and suggested good dishes for us. They play music, have drawings depicting the good culture
Ordered half rack got to ends burnt and roasted in an over of.some type. No smoke flavor. Could not even eat. Other customers at least looked good and where not ends. Hmmm.
Waited for about 2 hours at a table after our orders were taken. The food was not impressive afterall. Bad day or not, 2 hours is an aweful long time, especially if you have little kids with you. They are usually good but I don't know what happen that day.
I sincerely loved the original place, and I will never come again after all changes (name included). Food is now questionable (flavor, quality, how can you make a barbecue worse?) although beer is still a very, very good attraction.
Food was ok but the service quality and speed really bring the general rating down. It took them a while to come and greet us and then some to get us a round of waters. We had to get up on two occasions to get the server's attention, both for water and the check. Won't be visiting again.
It took a long time to get our orders taken, then the server forgot to submit the order, then one of the items wasnt available b/c the chicken wasnt prepped, and bathroom was smelly. The trash was overflowing in the female bathroom. Maybe they just have off days but idk how youd avoid them!
Whose idea was to put house and dance music on a classic southern restaurant? The thrill is gone. Let me know when you go back to Cash and Nelson. Update... Extremely loud hip-hop when asked about the music? Really?
Liked this place previously as a reasonably priced neighborhood BBQ but they recently changed the menu and jacked up the prices like it's a South Beach hot spot. I walked out without even ordering after these new prices. Disappointed in the changes.
Food was good, management tries to make this place work, but unfortunately the wait staff was inattentive, friendly, but very inattentive. And the one waiter which is the reason in giving two stars was a real sarcastic a hole.
Drinks and service is good but the food has gone the Macdonald's way. Half size portions, boiled quality brisket, barely any meat on the Mac'n'back... Go for the drinks, avoid the food.
once my favorite restaurant in wynwood, now disappointing. regularly take 60-90 minutes to fulfill a sandwich order on uber eats and quality of the food has definitely decreased over time. it's a shame, as this was such a fun atmosphere and go-to destination for out of town guests for a long time. hopefully they will rebound.
This place was a total mess. The tables were dirty and our server only went to our table because we called her over. We were helped by the guy in the front door. One of our entrees was completely raw. And it took them 30 minutes to bring the new plate. I would not recommend it.
Since moving to Miami I have come here to eat simply because I enjoy the food here. I would have given 5 stars because I love the food and the atmosphere but because of this past experience, I just can't. I called to order wings and was told it would be ready in 10-15 mins. After sitting in the restaurant for 20 mins. They finally informed me they ran out of wings and forgot. So as I am confused as to why it took this long, I get a call finally telling me the same but I have been sitting in the restaurant the whole time. I was told right after there was wings and they would be out shortly. I'm a patient individual and didn't mind the wait. It was what they did after which upset me. After waiting almost an hour for 8 wings and fries, they handed me the bill to pay. Just bad customer service there. I did not fight it, I paid, tipped and simply walked out. Now I am torn if I would ever come back.
Rude management uninterested in customer service, inconsistent food and high prices. Avoid eating here you like value for your dining dollar. Avoid if you don't LOVE salt, because a meal at Pride & Joy can be an indigestion starter. The menu is filled with potholes and items that aren't prepared well. Better name for the establishment: Hits & Misses.
If you're in the mood for places that aren't to busy and servers that forget your table, forget what you ordered and and after 15 mins tell you that she just checked and they are out of the beer you ordered than this place is OK. The service makes you feel like an incovinience for going and there. Out of 5 items that were ordered 3 were either incorrect all together or missing sides which we had to request. Chilli looked like it had been nuked/reheated and the Mac and cheese looked about the same. Taste was bland for both however the coleslaw was actually pretty good. Don't bother with this place. My guess is it will be out of business anyway.
The restaurant was great with previous owners. Ever since August change of ownership, the food became poor and the owners dropped many great items from the menu. I wish the restaurant luck on their future, but I ate my last meal there yesterday.
Went in about an hour before close one night for a quick bite. Service was fine but very let down by the food, especially given the price point. I know south Florida will never be known for its BBQ but man that brisket was crap. Pulled pork sandwich was mediocre at best. Completely forgettable experience.
I came here some time ago and I loved it! But I just recently visited and it wasn't great at all. Mac & Cheese tasted like cardboard, food was semi cold, and the service was S-L-O-W. The manager tried to make things right, but again food wasn't as great as I remembered it. Dissapointing experience. Giving a 2 rating because the manager Marcos was so nice.
Food was good but not worth the price. They ran out of Mac and Cheese. It's very pricey once again. What got me mad was that I ordered a Sprite and I got a little glass cup and it was $5. No free refills. So I spent $10 on Sprite. Found out too late when I saw the bill. The music is great.
Had to wait 20 minutes when we arrived to even be seated because the kitchen was backed up. This itself was not a huge deal but I didnt understand why we couldnt at least get a table to sit at since we had a baby with us. Also the wait staff interactions were very unprofessional, multiple times I witnessed what i assume was one of the upper wait staff cursing out the hostess over what appeared to be miscommunication. When we did finally get a table our waiter was only okay, not very attentive to us. We ordered some drinks that were supposed to be alcoholic, but I couldn't even taste any alcohol in them, nor could my wife or friends. We ended up ordering this large meal that says it feeds 4-6 (just under $100 bucks, worth the price for what you get on paper). While the food was plentiful for the 5 of us, the food itself was subpar. I expected the ribs to be fall of the bone but they weren't even close and did not taste all that good. The chicken was decent and well cooked, but nothing great. The pulled pork and brisket were average at best, but the barbecue provided helped a lot. If the wait staff was more professional and attentive I would possibly consider going back (kitchen was backed up so that could be why the food was subpar), but since they were not that will not happen. 2 stars because the food did fill us up, but that is about it.
The restaurant is currently doing some renovations. The service was good. The food prices are WANT(within normal range). They do not have side salads. If you want a salad, it's $13 & $6-$9 for toppings . They do get you on the BEER PRICES. Corona Beer was $9, yes $9 each. Too much. On the final note, immediately after eating, I got sick and had to be rush home because my food was ready to come up or out.
This place is very inconsistent. Also, they forget part of your order as well. A lot of times when you go in there, or order for delivery items are not done and take over a few hours to be prepared because they're not ready. But the restaurant is open, and they don't tell you. Sometimes also the meat is very thick and very good quality. And other times the meat is very thin and horrible. I think they need to get their act together, and be more consistent with the quality, and the way they cook it, because I don't think they're consistent. I think if they can stay consistent with their quality, and the way they make their food. Then it would be a really good place. Because when it's done right, it's done really good, but majority of the time it's not done right. It's always a hit or a miss(majority of the time a miss), dining in or ordering for delivery via doordash.
Pride and joy it's not what it once was. The food was horrible. Couldn't eat comfortable fending off flies while dining inside wth. Poor customer service. Will never eat there again. I don't recommended.
We waited 30 min for cold food (was not fresh at all). The beverages are expensive ($9 for a beer) you're better of drinking the free water and we had to wait another 15 to get our receipt. wouldn't be coming back ever.
Worst experience at a restaurant I've ever had. Ordered my food and was told by our waiter 45 minutes later that the machine was messed up so they had just put the order in. 45 MINUTES LATER. When the food got there, the sides were small, the toast was burned black and the meat was greasy. Manager was absolutely no help. He kept avoiding eye contact the rest of the night. Never coming back here again.
A friend recommended this place and swore up and down how great the food is. I ordered the FRENCH DIP, which I believe, was 18$. After waiting 45 mins, I was served 3 slices of beef brisket (DRIED, nearly beef jerky) with no taste on a white hoagie, not the crisp French bread as described in the menu. When you order a French dip, you invision a bowl of onion beef broth. Thank god the broth was there to help choke down the dried meat and crap bread. There was no PRIDE in what they gave me just JOY from what I paid them. Totally disappointed and my friend was embarrassed. Come to find out, after we left, new ownership. I hope the previous owner reads these reviews, sends me a message, and tells me his new location.
Last night I was eating at the Pride and Joy BBQ in the wynwood area of Miami on 11/12/16 at 10:45 pm until around midnight. My waitresses name was Charlotte Mirebeau and I have reason to believe that she knowingly took my debit card after I accidentally left it at the restaurant. She then proceeded to make a series of fraudgelent charges totaling over $600 the following day. She was the last person to have my debit card. Charlotte made numerous statements that night about her poor financial situation, aspirations for a better life and a lot of other personal details to build sympathy towards her. I used my community first credit union debit card to pay for my meal and accidentally left it on the table. I was there very close to closing and saw Charlotte clearing off my table. I did not realize that I did not have my debit card until the following morning. Upon realizing it was lost I checked my accounts and saw two charges of $289 each to Toys R Us. I called my bank, canceled the card and they informed me that more charges had been attempted but were declined. I called the restaurant informed them of the incident. They told me that there policy was to keep lost items locked and stored away and that since the policy was not followed that night they will be leading there own investigation.
Horrible spot!! Requesting a Boycott of this establishment immediately. My girlfriend and I went here to eat on 3/29/2017 and waited over 45mins for services, mind you the place was empty. The waitress literally served other tables around us and when expressing this to her boss, he says "she didn't serve you'll because your black and yea, I know it's wrong but that's the truth".
This place was recommended to me by a friend and when i got there it was 40 mins till closing. I asked the hostess if it was too late because i saw employees preclosing. She informed me thatvit was fine. Being mindfull, I asked that if coming in late would effect the service. She said no reaasuring me that this isnt one those places that slack at the end. Ionly asked because i qorked in the field too and hated when someone came in last minute but it happens. So the hostess sat us in the back patio with the menus. I saw about 5 servers walking around pre closing. 10mins went by... 15mins went by.... no one greeted us no one asked us anything. We were just looked at and ignored as if they didnt want to be the one to acknowledge the customer because that would mean they would have to work. They were so focused on preclosing. After 15mins my friend and I just got up and left passing a server on the way out he told us, thanks for coming and have a goodnight. Seeing as i saw him walk by plenty of times i took it as a sign of disrespect. Mangement needs to train these kids on being attentive and respectful.
I loved this place once until I got horrific service today.. My and my wife had to walk out.. 2 employees got into a heated arguement. No hostess.. Waited 20 minutes for menus and didn't ask if we wanted water or a drink.. . I will never come here again..
Horrible experience we wanted BBQ ribs and chicken they ran out of it. This was 2 pm. Then we waited 30 min for the food to arrive, to top it off the food was cold we asked the waiter to heated up and still came back with the food cold . Will never go back to that place .
Me and my buddy went out to eat and before we even saw the food the server charged my friends Card twice. We were obviously paying seperately. I was excited to taste the Mac and Bac sadly I'm never going back.
Waiter was a nice guy, tried very hard. However restaurant was slow, 3pm . Took a hour to get food out, then it was cold, wings where dried out, brisket was dried out and served cold! Not a good experience.
If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. The ownership changed, the service is now atrocious, and the food is something straight out of a fast food restaurant. Southern Cuisine needs TLC, and this place definitely lost it when the new regime took over. BIG DISAPPOINTMENT! Stay away, you have been warned!!!!
Walked in and sat at the bar to find a decent beer selection atop three house cocktails, none of which are priced on the menu. Ordered two domestic beers which were 10$ each! Absolutely absurd, prices aren't that high on South Beach. Food was just okay, but way overpriced beer alone is a reason to never come again.
This place was by far the best BBQ joint in Miami and one of my top restaurants but my last visit 8/28/16 was the biggest disappointment, as soon as I walked in I notice all the changes and remodeling they are doing and I asked the server if it was new ownership and if the food was the same, he assure me that everything was the same and nothing had changed on the food so I thought every was fine then. But food came in and man like I said, the biggest disappointment!!! The baked beans I'm pretty sure that were canned beans, I ordered a whole fried chicken which is it was amazing before but this time they got a grill BBQ chicken that was done, battered it and dropped it in the fryer!! Who does that? Really!!! Then the brisket was not smoked as usual, this was baked with not smoke taste at all...baby back ribs were very tender but absolutely no taste of BBQ at all!! I'm afraid this lost it all, the charm and the flavor...Not recommended at all
I am only giving it one star because I have to put one, but if it were up to me it would be negative 5 stars. I took my nephew and brother in law who were in from Atlanta to eat there on a Thursday night. It took a while to get some service, when we did our dinner was a debacle to say the least. The waiter came and told us what liquors they were out of, Grand Marnier and all Tequilas, so My nephew and I ordered a beer, and my bro in law orders a rum & coke After 10 minutes later the waiter brings the drinks, I ask why the 10 minute delay for drinks when there is literally only 5 tables being occupied. She said the bartender was new and couldn't find the run. I said OK, and I let it slide. After 10 minutes we order another round of drinks, and my nephew and I get the same beer and my bro in law orders another drink this time it was a drink that had Grand Marnier and Patron, they bring the drinks right out this time a little less wait. I notice and tell the waitress, how did you make this drink if you are out of Grand marnier and Patron, she then replies good point, let me check with the bartender. She comes back and avoids the question, and asked if he wanted another drink. We then order some Nachos as an appetizer, and also order our meal. I order a 1/2 rack of ribs with baked beans and fries. The nachos come out, and the waiter forgets to bring us plates and utensils to eat, she said I will bring them right out. She comes back 5 minutes later and brings us a pulled pork sandwich, I said excuse me, but we didn't order this, she said yes we did. Apparently this sandwich was ordered by another table, she takes it back with no apologies. After 25 minutes later she brings out my food, the ribs and baked beans were cold, and the fries were burned. At this point I ask to speak to the manager, he was extremely nervous and he was shaking. He said today was his first day, and the restaurant was under new ownership. He promised to get me my food right away, at his point I knew that they were just going to heat it up in the microwave. After we eat, they bring us the bill and the pulled pork sandwich was on our bill. I ask for the manager again, same situation, nervous and shaking. He fixes the bill and delivers it to us. I ask to speak to the owner if he was present, he said he was not present. So he said he will call him, he goes to the back and said the owner was unavailable to speak at the current moment. I leave him my number, as I am a local business owner and I know how important it is to take care of your locals. Until this day I have yet to receive a call from the owner. I would personally never go back to this establishment ever again, nor would I let any of my friends eat here either. The food and service was so much better before the ownership which will probably be closed soon. For those of you that are looking to eat real good BBQ, go to Tom Jenkins on Federal. I would rather eat a McRib from McDonalds that eat from this place. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!
It used to be better but quality is lower. A few years back i bought a gift card for my dad the, manager said they ran out of the cards but gave a me a letter on their stationary and signed it. I thought this was weird but whatever. My dad didnt use it and gave it to me to go. When i tried to use the letter to pay they didnt want to accept it. The owner came by looking like a wanna be Bono and told me they would honor it but i wouldnt get back the remaining balance. I asked to order more food for the remaining balance but they didnt want to that either. Honestly the service here is really slow and just plain bad. The food quality has lowered.
The table next to us had awful service. They waited and waited for their food and drinks and almost 2 hours into the worst dining experience I have ever seen and when they asked to speak to the manager or owner the restaurant called the police on the customers! The worst treatment I have ever seen and I will be telling everyone I know in the neighborhood to never go there! Thankfully the police were reasonable but I can't believe a restaurant would put customers with legitimate concerns in such a situation! I have heard horror stories about bad Miami service but after 11 years of living here is the worst I have ever seen!
TLDR: FIND ANOTHER RESTAURANT. NAIL FOUND IN FOOD AND MANAGEMENT TAKES ZERO RESPONSIBILITY What a disappointing experience. The management changed 5 months ago. I went for lunch with my co-workers, 8 of us. They were out of pulled pork, sweet potato fries, guacamole, and pico de gallo. Okay... We order other things off the menu. Prices are a little steep, portions are decent, but food quality was nothing above average. We are eating our food when a co-worker pulls a nail out of her mouth found in the collard greens. Luckily no harm done. I take it to the bartender and ask for a manager. He comes back and says both managers aren't there but he will call them. Our server comps that meal only. Manager comes in and doesn't even come to our table. Are you kidding me? I had to call him over where he smugly responds that it's not from them and they had nothing to do with it. This is not how you do customer service. Avoid this place at all costs, you are saving yourself the trouble.
Had a late birthday dinner with 8 other friends tonight and we were disappointed with a few things. A few of us wanted the brisket and the server told us they did not have after we placed an order. So slightly disappointed already. Then we ordered the toasted marshmallow sweet potato and...he comes back after our new order is in to let us know they don't have it. Another disappointment. I ordered the baked beans and my gf ordered the same. My food came out cold and so did my other friend's plate. My baked beans looked like refried beans while my gf's beans actually looked like baked beans. The nightmare didn't end when it came to the check. The server left on a few items that we didn't order and messed up on splitting our checks. Just overall the first time will be our last time.
Ordered burger with no onions, got burger with onions, which I'm allergic to. Won't take burger off the bill. Ordered burnt brisket ends, got cut up pot roast that had never once touched a smoker. Brussel sprouts tasted like they had been cooked days before. F*** this place.
Food was beyond subpar. I had pulled pork (only because they had no brisket prepared, no they didn't run out, they didn't have any ready to serve) which they manage dry out and they tried to hide it by drowning it in in BBQ sauce which terribly over powered the flavor of the pork. Against my better judgement I ordered the fried brussel sprouts and "bacon" (which didn't exist in the dish at all). The texture was horrid but the worst part is that they tasted raw and bitter in the center. Which again it seems they tried to side step by using a balsamic vinegar sauce and it just didn't work. I also had the Mac and cheese which was bad at best with a grainy texture coating the Macoroni and a layer of what looked to be butter fat collected at the bottom on the bowl. But the most egregious offense was the fact that it was so bland. No salt yet there was a slice of American cheese melted nicely on top. Finally there was my drink which really was the first red flag of the quality of the food. I asked for a lemonade which tasted like it had been watered down through out the day. No sugar, no lemon flavor but lemon scented water that'll be sticky if spilled on a surface? sure! The only good thing we (my girlfriend and I) had that was good was the peach butter served along side her dry and solid corn bread. Honestly this place is trash and I think if you want barbeque in Miami your better off at Brother Jimmy's.
We came here for Lunch on saturday and though it was completely empty it took incledibly long until we got our food. When we ordered drinks the waiter asked only one of us whether he wanted anything else but water and then she walked away. Last but not least the meat was dry and again it took way too long until we finally got the check. I'm more than happy to pay good money for good BBQ but this definetely isn't worth the money. Edit: one of us got sick after eating the ceasar salad (no meat/fish) - he had to throw up several times and is now sick, just laying in bed
Food is ok , however each time I went back it was my hope the place got cleaner. Bathroom and restaurant grounds were filthy. There definitely was no pride in the management to keep the place up. Also beer was flat and piss warm. I'm from Texas, if you want good BBQ head west
Terrible don't waste your time or hard earned money. Burnt ends was almost a soup in a broth like liquid, food took almost 1 1/2 hours to arrive and the place not full. Every person that was in my party was extremely dissatisfied.
Stay away. Meat dishes are a la carte. Becomes very pricey. Pulled pork order had a good deal of fat in it. Serving sizes were very meagre - not like typical b-b-q places.. Mac and cheese with pork pieces - very pasty and not cheesy. Some of the help were turn offs. Go some place else. Not here. Maybe ok for the drinking at the bar - but skip eating here.
Had my debit card on the table and it was stolen by a staff member... i never moved from my seat and had my purse on top of the table the entire time.. no other customers were around me and the only person other than myself to have access to card was the staff members coming to attend the table. i told the waiter what happened and he could of cared less "oh that sucks, sorry to hear that" instead of calling the manager and asking his fellow staff members if they had seen the card. I will never be returning here again the mediocre overpriced food and drinks are not worth it, and getting robbed by a staff member is just honestly disgusting.
This has probably been the worse restaurant experience of my life. Let me paint the picture for you... My coworkers and I decide to go to P&J for lunch today. We get there around 1pm and are seated right away, 15 mins go by when our orders are finally taken, despite the fact that place was empty. But ok, til this point things weren't that bad. They started to go downhill when we had to wait 45 mins for the appetizer to come out (we ordered fried pickles) and when it did it was just batter, there were no pickles. We called the waiter over to show him to which he said let me go to the kitchen to talk to them and comes back with 3 of our orders. One of the dishes wasn't even cooked! At this point, we got up and left because we had spent an hour and 10 mins just to get uncooked food. Not going back to that place again!
Went with the family yesterday thinking it was Pride and Joy bbq which had great food. It is no longer pride and Joy. It's under new ownership and they don't tell you unless you start pressing your waiter/waitress. Owners are onsite and are of no help. Place was empty and took 2 hours to get our food and half the food was wrong. They ask if you want a refill on your soda and fail to tell you it's can soda they put in your cup and charge you for every "refill". They are remodeling and are no where near being a correctly functioning restaurant yet. No longer returning to eat at this place.
Don't waste your time... I would give it a -0 if it was a option. What went wrong? This place has gone down!! I don't even know where to begin;the horrible food, the service was awful. We waited well over a hour to each(4 people)get the wrong food!! We give him the order again...wrong. When we finally got the food it was COLD!! Waiter was unapologetic...worst part is it wasn't packed at all!! When we get the bill it was for all 3 orders!!
I never do this but this time I have to as I've been VOMITING for the 3rd time already. I suspected the food wasn't fresh, I ordered deviled eggs with brisket, it was some kind of special today, the appearance of the food was as it had been seating there since the day before, specially the meat on top of the eggs, it looked dry, and the brisket as it had been heated up for the 5th time in the day. I don't like to complain or return food, I just eat, pay and if I don't like it I don't come back but feeling this sick really makes me regret not saying anything today!!!
Place took a nosedive. Don't waste your time. They do not have the patience for proper smoking of ribs. All sides are not what they used to be. My French fries were old and oliy coleslaw was hot! No thank you salmonella.
The worst dining experience I've had in about 5 years. We've eaten there many times and service has always been a major issue, but with friends and sitting outside it's tolerable. Today was unbelievably bad - two tables left before we did because they didn't get food. Our food never showed up and the waitress who explained to us that she just started and has never seen the menu tried to help, but she was unprofessional and had a manager who was rude, condescending, and the most unprofessional person I've encountered. He had no respect for his staff, customers or profession. Disgusting - avoid this place at all costs!!!
What a joke....We were very clear that we wanted to order immediately. 25 min after we placed our order the server came out to tell us that she was sorry but they were out of coconut shrimp. Oh, and out of fries. Really??? How can a restaurant that serves fries with 1/2 their menu items be out??? It took 25 minutes to figure that out?? So my hubs cancelled his order completely, leaving us with just 3 orders for them to fill. AN HOUR LATER.....we were served. I had 3 sliders - without the ingredients listed on the menu and 1 of them was ice cold! My son's order was messed up, his fries were cold and soggy. She eventually came back to refill our waters (after we asked) but she only had enough for 3 of our 4 glasses. She never came back to refill mine until I asked for more water when she brought the check. She only charged us for 2 of the 3 dishes we DID actually eat...but the effort to make our stay a pleasant one was weak. Will NOT be returning... :(
I heard this place was great so I went to check it out. The prices were high and they didn't have half the menu available on a Saturday afternoon. I went back a few weeks later to try again as the food was pretty good the first time. Again the service took forever and it was just me and a friend and one other couple in the whole place. The food took over 45 minutes and came out wrong. We couldn't wait any longer and the server attempted to charge full price for items we did the even order. Stay away from this place. It may have used to be good but that is no longer the case.
The WORST wait staff I have ever experienced in my life. I've been given more attention by the staff at McDonalds. Waited 10 minutes at the bar before I was acknowledged, after telling a waitress we were only waiting at the bar for a table. Three tables opened up and not one waiter bothered to tell us we could sit. After asking one it was okay, we sat, only to be ignored for another 15 minutes. I had to ask a waitress who was passing by to please take our order. He could not have been more annoyed to do so. After waiting ONE WHOLE HOUR, we had not been served water or acknowledged in any way. My family walked out. This establishment is an embarrassment. We will never come again and I recommend you don't waste your time here.
Waited 40 minutes for drinks and an hour for cold food, which was not our food . Worst meal I've had in a long time. We asked to speak with the owner and they brought the police instead. Our 70 year old mother at least enjoyed the birthday show if nothing else. The police took our side. Enough said. Don't waste your money, it's not the restaurant or used to be.
This place was such a huge disappointment. To say the service was subpar is an understatement. Our group was subjected to a waitress that appeared to be under the influence of some illegal substance. We received multiple dirty dishes, silverware, and cups. The wait time was ridiculously long, upwards of almost 2 hours for our meal.. when it finally arrived, several of our meals were incorrectly cooked. We asked to speak to the manager, who we expressed our concerns about about the waitress and the countless issues we experienced up to that point. He seemed to be aware of the waitresses erratic behavior, dismissing it, saying "I've spoken to her countless times tonight." We finished out meals, and asked for our checks. One of the members of my group attempted to pay his bill with cash. He provided the waitress with a $20 bill, for a check of just over $15. The waitress brought back $2, stating that "$16 minus $20 is $2"... At this point, we cut our losses and left as soon as possible. Never again will I subject myself or any of my friends to this establishment.
Ordered this from UberEats and purchased the Mac 'n Bac for $13 thinking this was going to be a decent sized portion at that rate. Received a small container, < 8 oz, and felt pretty underwhelmed with what I had paid $13 for. Called in to the restaurant and spoke with the manager to explain and asked for either a refund or a discount to purchase additional food. Manager told me that's how they've always done it and I should've looked into it before ordering then hung up on me before I could respond. Food was alright but that sort of response and service is pretty hard to get past.
Unfortunately, Pride and Joy has lost its luster since my last visit. Once a homey place of delicious smokey aromas, things have deteriorated beyond comprehension. Menu has changed drastically, and the quality of the food has as well. It isn't inedible, but it isn't the home style, fresh, and flavorful meals everyone was used to. Not even entirely sure they have a smoker for the meats anymore. Restaurant was empty on recent visit and should have been a sign. Music was blaring, and while not always a bad thing, doesn't fit in to what Pride and Joy is or was. Service was lacking - Suzy was the only attentive one and did her best to accommodate and provide decent service when our original waitress bailed. You'll also be overpaying for what you receive between the food and service.
Unfortunately, you can't give 0 stars. Can't even begin to explain my disappointment with this place. Went for lunch, and the place was empty. 45 minutes after placing our order, no food had arrived. When asked whether our food would be out soon, the waiters response was a very short "yes". 5 minutes later - our appetizers arrived (fried pickles which had not been fried). 10 min after that - one plate of uncooked, raw ribs was placed in front of my coworkers lap. Needless to say, we walked out. Worst part of the experience had to be the fact that the waiter was not at all courteous or empathetic to the situation. We ordered Papa Johns. Pride & Joy, just...no.
