It’s a local’s secret gem! One of the highlights of my Miami trip. Went here last time too & really enjoyed it. Actually walked quite a ways to come back here again (it was that good!) 2nd time is just as good as I remembered. The cortadito here is the best and so are the desserts. Plus they have everything you might need on your trip from sunscreen to a new swim suit. Highly recommend!

Out of town and staying nearby? This is your friendly place for wine, beer, milk, sandwiches, snacks, breakfast, pastries and more. Well staffed. Outside seating to enjoy your freshly made item. Visited here daily during our short stay.

While in the area on vacation we had heard this place has a good quick breakfast and coffee. Our order was promptly taken by a hard working woman (there were many woman working behind the counter taking orders and making food in a quick, amazing fashion!). While I was disappointed with how small the large mocha was, the breakfast didn’t disappoint. My husband had a croissant egg and bacon sandwich ( which was huge) and I had a bagel with egg and cheese. Both were hot and delicious! Definitely swing in here when you are in the area, they won’t disappoint!

Nice sandwiches, freshly made vegetarian options. We had the bagel with cream cheese, half a vegetarian sandwich, a cheese tequeño, and a 4-cheese empanada. Everything was delicious except for the last one, but overall it was a real treat. And all of it together for just $20 – definitely worth it!

This right here was a money saver. It was a few blocks from my hotel. We went there for breakfast, lunch and snacks. The pastries were amazing and fresh. The lunch was my favorite part. The Italian was on fresh bread all the time. The coffee was perfect. I tried the coloda which was a Cuban coffee...wow!. They have everything! Beach supplies, snacks, alcohol, food....Everything! You must stop there. The staff was friendly. I miss the food already.

They are very nice staff with nice smiles, location is beautiful, their coffee made my day it’s so tasty I took my coffee from that cafe every day of my vacation sometimes in outdoor tables and sometimes I took it to the beach with their delicious croissant

Stayed nearby for 3 nights. Not many breakfast spots around. This spot was perfect for breakfast sandwiches. They make it right there. They have freshly squeezed OJ per order. I had a couple everyday. Subs are filling and fresh. I had a cortadito coffee every morning here. Very nice people. Can take a while if there’s a line but otherwise it was the perfect basic breakfast/brunch spot without spending a fortune in Mid Beach. They have a lunch menu too but I ate elsewhere so idk.

It’s a bodega!!! Made to order sandwiches and coffee. Delicious pastries and desserts. Sunscreen, shot glasses, wine and apparel all in one place. Very close to our hotel so we went to this place every morning. Cheapest breakfast you can find on Miami Beach.

Substantial deli and market with all the bakery treats. Then has a little side shop with all the beach things you might want to go to the beach. Fabulous Cuban sandwiches and bakery. Very inexpensive place to eat quick and there are plenty of tables out front under very large umbrellas. Right in the center of Miami Beach Midtown

We stopped in for a cup of coffee while we waited to checkin to our hotel. The coffee was good and piping hot. We also had their beef and chorizo empanada which was very delicious for a small market. They also have a deli with a great selection of sandwiches. They also have plenty of seating on their outdoor patio. This has become our go to for coffee and empanada during our stay in Miami.

Don't let the line fool you, it moves fast. Coffee is off the hook. I recommend the Cortadido. It has just enough sweetness to it. Your breakfast order is made when you order it. Good neighborhood place, nothing fancy, but a great way to start your morning.

I love this place for breakfast, great pastries and other options, excellent freshly made in front of you orange juice, nice employees, amazing coffee and I love sitting outside eating breakfast under the palm trees. It can be noisy because of the cars, but when you are eating and relaxing in the shade, it doesn’t even bother you. Price is a little expensive but much cheaper than hotels. One of favorite things about coming here is this place! If you go at prime time breakfast hour, plan on waiting though in a long line and having to wait for a seat. I learned to go early and beat the crowd!

I visited Miami Beach for a couple of days and the food at the hotel was not the cheapest, nor best. So we came across this place, super nice, have everything you need. You can get some nice breakfast lunch or late night snack! The team behind everything is completely Karin so the positivism in this place is amazing. Guys are super kind and helpful. Prices are super good for what you get.

Great locally owned bodega/store to hang out and people watch. It's right on Collins Ave and 39th St in Miami Beach. They have tables to sit at and also outdoor couches. I love going there on my bike and enjoying the evening. Staff is friendly. Prices are reasonable for being in the heart of Miami Beach. Great selection of of food.

Really good food! The staff was really nice and made us breakfast after it had already ended. The egg croissants are HUGE and so delicious; there was a hint of sweetness that really made the flavor pop. Also, the beef and chicken empanadas were very scrumptious 😋

My husband and I spent a few days vacation in Miami Beach. On our first night in town we eat at Primo Cafe & market and we could not find any other place that would offer the same warm and friendly atmosphere combined with great food. The pastry and sandwiches (made fresh in front of you) were amazing. But the best of all was our interaction with Angelica. Every time we stopped at the market, either for breakfast or a late evening snack, she was there, with her beautiful smile and enthusiastic attitude. Thank you Angelica and her entire staff. We will be talking about you and Primo cafe to all our friends in North Carolina.

A great place to get a good value breakfast. We went everyday for coffee and pastries when staying opposite in the cadillac. Very friendly service, good portions and great value for money - good for takeaway or you can eat outside. I had a cortadito every morning to take back to hotel room along with croissants.

I don't know where I'd be without coladas in the morning! Service a bit slow, but be nice and make a friend and you'll be appreciated for not being a huffing, puffing entitled tourist. The fruit cocktail in orange juice is very refreshing and it's fun to people watch there! If you see the cheese and onion empanadas come out of the oven, GET THEM!

BEST CUBAN COFFEE IN FLORIDA! Primos deliciousness of pastry and authentic Cuban coffee will have you coming back over and over again! Friendly staff, great location, extremely fair prices and did I mention the coffee? Because you HAVE to try the Cuban coffee! Makes Starbucks taste like tap water!!

Took a staycation nearby and was looking for good Cuban coffee in the area. Wasn’t going to go in at first, but decided to try it out — so glad I did! The cortadito was amazing. I had one yesterday afternoon after walking the Beach boardwalk and it was perfect. I’ve had many cortaditos, colada, Cuban coffee and this one deserved a review! It was so tasty that I got another (okay, maybe 2 today). I paired it with an egg & cheese Cuban sandwich and they were delicious. Will definitely be coming back when I’m in the area😎🤙🏾

Such a sweet place. I can tell they take care of their locals, because they all skipped me in line. The service was nice and the food was excellent. I specifically choose latin cafe's with the large orange squeeze machine. They make everything in house.

Hotel food is so expensive! So it's so wonderful to have this Cafe right across the street. Because we have a mini fridge, I was able to buy salami, cheese and bread to make sandwiches in our room, and snacks for the beach. They have all the basics and more. Sandals, cover-ups, snacks, milk, cheese. They also have breakfast and lunch foods. Last night, we ordered a chicken sub for the kids and sushi for me and my hub.

The croissant sandwiches are huge & delicious, the orange juice is fresh squeezed, wonderful selection of baked goods. Great bargain for the prices! It took about 20 minutes total(line + cooking) to get my food, but worth it.

Edit. This market is so great. The people are great. All you need for your day on the beach. My second time staying at Circa and love that I can go to Primo and get anything I forgot. This is a typical bodega with some coffee, sandwiches, pastries and packaged foods at a more affordable price on the beach. Don’t expect culinary sensations here but the food does the job. We got sandwiches here for the plane ride home. The egg croissant was massive and very greasy. We kind of felt sick after eating it but most people would probably enjoy it. The bagel sandwiches were decent. They were like Thomas bagels so not great but again, overall it checked the box and didn’t break the bank . The cashier was nice and there were a lot of options for most people. Not a ton of vegetarian options but a few.

M
Margaret Jachym

The empanadas are amazing. The cortadito was good and the American coffee was great, except the creamers for the coffee are gross. There's fresh made sandwiches made to order, baked goods, and all sorts of things you may need. You order, pay, pickup your order and can sit outdoors.

Great location across from hotels. Offers essential items, freshly made breakfast and lunch items, coffee and souvenirs. Food was good, large portions and well priced. The breakfast croissant sandwich and egg wraps can be shared by two people. If ordering food, check the menu and know what you want prior to going in order to reduce wait times. Lots of time wasted on people not sure what to order when next in line. Lines to order food can get long so be prepared to wait. Overall, glad we found this place during our stay in Miami Beach.

M
Mark Wimshurst-Smith

Great place to eat on a budget, with a wide selection of hot food, salads, sandwiches and sushi. The coffee was decent and received gratefully as there aren’t many coffee take outs close by. Perhaps a little weak, but not undrinkable! The staff either don’t speak much english, or are a tad rude (I couldn’t work it out). But a $6.99 lasagne that looked and tasted as good as homemade - I can overlook it!

J

Nice little Cafe to get a breakfast or some sandwiches for lunch. Pastries are pretty good too! Stay away from the waffles (they're just eggos) Italian sandwiches were excellent and be prepared for a wait, service is very slow but they're very nice!

B

We had breakfast here everyday when we were staying across the street at the Confidante. Try a colada (Cuban espresso), and it just may ruin regular coffee for you forever. One of the first things I did when I got back to Michigan is search for a local place to get Cuban coffee, but none compare to Primo!

S
Sarah Shen

The sandwiches are massive, pretty good for breakfast and lunch. Hot coffee was like water but ice one was strong. Can’t recommend anything else, pastry is what it is, and the salads are sitting there for days. Overall a good option over other crazy overpriced hotel restaurants in the area

N

Bought only milk based cappuccino. It good for the genre and not forcibly sweeten but I was disappointed for not having a soy based one. They have a good wifi.

M

I do not recommend their salads, not usually fresh. The club sandwiches and freshly prepared submarines are good. From their bakery I only recommend their croissants and banana bread. After all, it's a rare place to find amongst all the hotels that charge you a lot for breakfast.

K
Kendra Eifert

Foods are tasty. Some staff is very friendly, while others stare you down if you request anything "extra" especially those making sandwiches. Don't ask for an extra wrap paper for your sandwich unless you want the look of death! I'll be back, though, because the food is nicely priced and tastes great.

Delicious cortadito here. While still sweet it was the right amount to balance the bitterness of the coffee. The chicken empanadas was good but not the best I’ve had. Be prepared to wait, especially in the morning as it can get busy

We are here staying across the street for a conference for my husband. The conference has no food so he has been having breakfast here the past 3 days and the pastries are HUGE(like bigger than costco!). He gets a pastry and latte for $15, but again, pastry is the largest i have ever seen. We went tonight for dinner and he got a foot long, super thick Italian sub for $12, I had a blueberry muffin and carrot cake, both were a bit stale, BUT, it's 8pm, so kind of expected. All were great, staff was very friendly and cant beat right across the street. They also have grab n go options in a cold case if you dont have time for a sandwich to be made. Would recommend!

J
Jakyra Eusebio

I was staying nearby and came here many times to eat breakfast and grab a coffee. Hot sandwiches were good. You can sit outside. Be aware of the pigeons, they are not on you but are around. The store has souvenirs, some beach clothes that looked nice, snacks and drinks etc.

We were in town for a medical appointment, not vacation. This was near our hotel and an excellent option for the traveler on a budget or one too weary to go out to a restaurant. It’s a fine little convenience store with a nice deli type counter. They hand make some really good sandwiches, offer salads, pastries and desserts. The dulce de leche cake was incredible. We got a roast beef sandwich, empanada and the awesome cake for under $30. That’s quite a deal for the area. It’d also be a great option for a picnic on the beach right across the street.

we were stopping to eat before going to the Eden Roc, and this nostalgic bodega did the job :). i had a simple turkey and cheese but it was really delicious and the condiment/napkin bar is perfect for customizing your sandwich the way that you want. I always like to have control over my condiments and seasonings. I had a tiramisu cake for dessert which blew me away!!! with this to say, the food was delicious but the price was a little high and I wouldn't pay what we paid for a not-very-fresh salad and a premade turkey club. the food is GOOD but i can get something of similar quality somewhere else for cheaper. huge highlight on the kind and sweet staff. i dunno the lady's name but the sweetheart that was at the register was so nice!!

Don't buy any basic food/items here, it' s an expensive and many items purposely don't have price tag. Next to is CVS open 24/7 at a half price. Empanadas are good, Vegetable salad costs 15$ and pastry is semi-finished product... The price doesn't really match the quality. The staff is nice.

A

Decent place for a quick breakfast at a decent price. I ordered waffles and a hot mocha. Waffles didn’t have much flavor, needed sugar or vanilla added to the batter. Waffles were cold by time they called us for our order. Hot mocha was on point. BF got a ham, egg, cheese sandwich… when the lady taking order asked whole or 1/2 that should have triggered us to ask questions. He ordered a whole and it ended up being a foot long on a French loaf. It was huge but again no flavor to it, he had to add a lot of salt & pepper to make it worth eating.

C
Carolyn Zhao

It’s nice that this place has convenience food and some house supplies so I give 3 stars for that. Don’t expect amazing food though, the egg cheese bagel I got was pretty low quality and somehow had bacon pieces in there even though I ordered it vegetarian. There are better empanadas in south beach I believe. Come here for the fruit/small grocery items/supplies and not the food.

T
Tim F (Tim)

OMG this place. After a horrible experience down the street we needed food. Stopped in this convenience market with some food attached. Line out the door, so we thought "YES" finally some good food. The line was out the door because of how slow they were. It was inspiring to watch just how slow they moved around in the kitchen. I really believe a group of sloths could have migrated from Costa Rica, learned how to cook, and still made it faster than these people. Just another example of poor customer experience in Miami's famous South Beach. But at least we got to hear super cars racing up the strip every 10 minutes.

F
Fadi Haddad

Wait in line to order then wait in line to pay then wait in line to pick up your order. Other than that a good place to eat as the food is very good.

I

Asked for double toasted bagel, 2 times explained what I want. Instead got a mushy, warm bagel with expired cheese in it. 1 bagel for $11. Disgusting place

H
Holly McEntyre

It's more of a market or Bodega than a café. The music is way too loud. The food selection is quite limited for those of us with food allergies and sensitivities. The front desk/market agent was awesome and went out of her way to help us, whereas the people in the Cafe did not seem to be focused on customer service but on food prep. The salad and fruit we purchased were unremarkable but the lasagna was good.

T

Whenever I asked locals where I could get Cuban coffee they said Primo. I was expecting a traditional cafe with lots of coffee options but that’s not what this place is. It’s a little market with a deli that serves some hot sandwiches and empeñadas. You order it and they give it to you to go. Buy water from the market if you need water. I ordered the croissant bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. Man it was delicious!! The croissant was huge, warm and flaky, and the it just a really solid choice. The cortido/cortino (?) - Cuban coffee with milk was good but not memorable. My disappointment was with the cleanliness of the tables which are outside. Doesn’t seem like they are cleaned regularly. It was a bit grimy. So, if you know the place is not a nice cafe with servers but a mini-market that gives you tables to sit at your leisure, then you’ll probably really like it for a quick bite.

Decent place if you need to pickup something quick. Just be prepared to pay Miami Beach prices. Staff was not super friendly. I would recommend stocking up on essentials before you hit Miami Beach to avoid the outrageous price catching.

Food is really nice , but ordered drink size of Large and got this extra small cup of iced latte and iced chocolate with 80% full of ice and rest is liquid 🤷‍♀️ size is not good and proportion of liquid is poor🙌🏻

Food was fine overall, but the ordering process was hectic and confusing. The flow wasn’t very clear, and the staff didn’t seem to be working with much urgency—there’s definitely room for a better system. For what we received, it felt overpriced. The bagels were not good, and the bacon was more like dehydrated bacon bits. Two breakfast sandwiches and two coffees came out to around $45, which felt steep. Coffee sizes are very small—a “large” is about 10 oz for $5.75. Despite being fast-casual, service was quite slow.

I wanted to like this place because it’s close to my house, but the food is terrible. I ordered a egg croissant which comes with bacon and cheese. The bacon is diced and there was so much of it, it made the sandwich super greasy. All I could taste was bacon. My husband ordered a prosciutto sandwich and the prosciutto was not good quality either. The staff is super nice though.

The food was not good at all. Chicken empanada dry and the beef one had an odd taste to them. Super over priced. Not interested in returning

Too expensive for the food they serve here... 7 dollars for frozen waffles and pack of syrup they call "homestyle"

I don't recommend this place for tourists. On multiple occasions I was standing in line to order (right in front of the "ORDER HERE") sign and I saw locals come into the store and simply cut to the front of the line. The problem is that the staff behind the counter also simply took the locals' orders, ignoring the tourists that were following the rules & waiting in line. And of course the staff behind the counter also prioritized preparing the locals' food while we tourists in line just kind of stared at the whole operation. I asked the manager about it on one occasion and they said "yeah these locals are crazy" and left it at that. So you have both management and front line employees on board with prioritizing locals over tourists. Maybe that's OK for some things, but when you're trusting the folks behind the counter to safely handle & prepare your food AND they (and their mgmt) clearly view you as a second class customer, you're asking for trouble if you get food here.

Went here a couple of times because it's convenient to the hotel we're staying at. The service is pathetically slow you woke up to the counter and I'm telling you for older ladies no one comes up to you they look at each other like are you going to take them. I understand very little Spanish but I heard them making fun of a couple who had already ordered just simply awful. But here's my main complaint I bought a prosciutto hero cost $15 there is one freaking slice of meat look at it one damn slice of meat. Never in my life what I think Subway would have been a better option. Stay away these people don't want your business. Read the reviews how rude they are how slow they are

Bad service. Just got a cup of coffee had to wait while 3 people chatted behind the counter then had to pay first and return for the coffee. They need training and a new system

I had a very unpleasant experience at Primo Café Market today. There were insects in the spaghetti — not only in the first package, but also in the second one the employee gave me as a replacement. When I opened it, the insects crawled out right in front of the employee. Despite this obvious issue, the employee reacted unprofessionally and unfriendly, offering no fair solution. Completely unacceptable from a hygiene standpoint. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this store.

Older lady working at counter very rude. Breakfast sandwich tasted like soap. Took one bite and threw in the trash.

This is the second time I came here. The first time is amazing. But this time, I am so disappointed. I ordered chicken quesadillas, the lady was there took the order and never ask anything, I went to pay and waited for the order. Then the lady put the box on the counter, knocked on the box and told me to take it and leave. I looked at the box, there’s only cheese and chicken. No sauce, no veggies, no nothing, just the box. I was about to say to add me some sauce, but when I looked at her, she wanted me to leave so bad. I barely wrote a bad review but this is really unhappy experience.

Stood at the front of the line for 10 minutes. Three employees refused to recognize that we were there. We left. So unknown if the food is any good.

S

Went in to purchase 1 french baguette. Got to the cash & it cost $4.99; but she charged us a fee of $3 for God knows what...most likely because we are tourists so she tried to pull a fast one on us. French baguette cost $8.55. We walked out. Unbelievable

B

The lady at the sandwich counter is rude and nasty. I ordered a Cuban sandwich which was a huge disappointment. Please take your business elsewhere if you value good customer service and quality food.

Bro For $10 Newport shorts you can buy anywhere else in Miami they charging $18 for the pack? Manee!! Listen they food good, but it ain’t that good to upcharge the tobacco…

DON’T GO HERE - I am so deeply disappointed. Came here a few years ago when I stayed at a hotel nearby and it was such a hidden gem before. It was a no frills cafe with surprisingly good food. Went here today and waited 30 minutes just to get coffee and pastries. It took so long for the staff to take the orders for the people in front of me ordering lunch. And just as long for them to fulfill my coffee and pastry order. The staff here has no urgency to help customers out which is why I don’t think we, as consumers, should give these people our money.

V
Vee Flee

The service is horrible, the employees ladies are slow and lazy, we had to wait over 30 minutes standing up making line to order to find out finally when we got to order that they didn’t have what I wanted to order, my husband wanted to still order a cuba sandwich, the woman was talking on her personal phone with a friend while making his sandwich then she just stamped the sandwich on top of the counter without tell us it was ”ready”. I understand we are tourists and we may won’t back to Miami but they should learn customer service and to cook quickly. I didn’t come back during my stay even it was very convenient because was next to my hotel. Do not recommend.

S
Scott Elam

Microwaved eggs. This is a picture of a “croissant” egg sandwich. Fork for scale. Quantity over quality. It was gummy inside, cost $8. Everything is cooked in one of several microwaves. They don’t wipe the steam wands of the espresso machine.

A

Nickel and dime’d on food purchases from the counter. Don’t add or request customization or customer service. Tourist trap. Stay away. All over onions.

A
Aleyna Ceylan

They were very rude when we wanted to change the moldy cake they sold, like it was our fault. I was shocked the rude behavior that we received. I couldn’t even eat other bakery. How can I be sure it is reliable? I guess it would have been safer if I had eaten the $40, the paper bill.

K
Khamari Smith

The service in this place is a JOKE. These woman will leave you at the counter and go make a Samich, play on the phone 📞 and then maybe after you look like you’ve suffered enough take your order after 15 minutes … it’s bad. I’m not exaggerating and this was not a one off experience.

T
Tahereh H.

I ordered a chicken wrap. Bread was stale, chicken was cold and it didn’t get wrapped perfectly. Its taste was terrible. I throw it in the garbage. the egg wraps that we ordered were not good as well. I don’t recommend it.

The food is just fine. Service is very bad with ignored customers and the woman who is the cashier ignored my husband's coffee and she still didn't care when we asked for it. No smile no sorry or anything. Very bad service!!! Order on April 13 at 11:45

S

Horrible they charge me for two things when I brought in one of the items that I previously brought from there and the man and woman at front wouldn’t show camera footage that I brought it in with me I am pissed and how they service was DONT RECOMMEND!!!

Absolutely the worst sandwich I have ever had in my life. Service was extremely rude as well

T

First of all, this isn’t about the place. We bought alcohol and we are both of age. The lady at the counter took our ID and asked for a secondary form of ID like a passport. First of all you don’t get to ask for that, if it’s a real ID. Refusal to accept first form of ID that is a legitimate real ID is a form of discrimination. How dare you insult us like that. What kind of business refuses to serve based on A REAL ID??? Another man who had served us another day came to help and questioned the ID. I had told him what was going on and he became hostile and idiotic saying he had not served us. He had and I have the receipt to prove it. They gave us our purchase after saying we would call the cops to verify the ID if they didn’t believe us. In what world do you need to carry two forms of ID for verification? This is blatant age discrimination and I hope this business gets it together bc this will be the last time they ever receive any money from us again. Do not go here or buy anything from them if you for want to get age discriminated again. Absolutely ridiculous

E
Emily E

I went there with my son to buy gifts.. Of course, I understand that certain items cannot be sold to minors that’s perfectly fine But because I stepped outside for an important phone call, my son and even I were treated in an extremely offensive and hostile way, insulted, and told to leave?! Even after I explained that I was about to come back in to show my ID and pay, the staff continued being aggressive. We will never return to this store – and that’s coming from someone who used to go there almost every day😢😢

Morning rush hour is terrible. Tons of people working behind the counter but super slowly and getting half the orders wrong. It took half an hour to get an iced coffee and orange juice. Dont come here if you dont want your morning ruined.

They gave me microwave eggos for the waffles. It says homestyle and they have a CVS next door so I have no idea what these clowns trying to pull

Guía de Primo Cafe and Market

# Primo Cafe and Market: Un Oasis en Collins Avenue, Miami Beach

Primo Cafe and Market: Un Concepto Dual
