Siamo stati ieri in 2. Personale molto gentile e disponibile, dai camerieri allo chef in persona. Cibo tutto buonissimo e menù molto vario.
We went to this restaurant and had a wonderful time. The food was really good, and the welcome was warm from the moment we arrived: the staff made you feel right at home. The cacio e pepe was simply delicious, perfectly creamy, and the parmigiana was truly flavorful. A place we'll definitely be returning to!
Guys, if you want a quiet evening with plenty of space, and if you're a large group, this is the place for you. Antonio and his wife are wonderful people and make you feel right at home. It was an evening of fun and jokes in Roman dialect. There were 13 of us, and everything was perfect... from the appetizers (very good) to the first courses (a pan-fried carbonara and amatriciana... because we couldn't handle the other two). They were "good..." but not top-notch... (but that's also because it's one thing to make carbonara/amatriciana for 4-5 people... but another for 13 people...) The second courses, however, weren't excellent. The €25 formula is a winner, the only downside is that the wine is obviously in bulk... and you might not like it at all... it's a classic company wine... just be aware. So, in conclusion... For me, it's a perfect place ONLY if you're with a large group (at least 8 people or more). If you're looking for quality, perhaps you should opt for the à la carte menu (but I don't know if that makes any difference), but the winning formula is primarily quantity over quality. It depends on what you're looking for. I think we'll be back, because it's also very nice inside and we had a really good time.
Coming to Milan for Roman food? Done! Inspired by the AYCE lunch offer, we had lunch at Mr. Antonio's on Sunday morning and had a wonderful time. Luckily, we found one last available table. It was an excellent traditional Roman lunch, starting with the appetizers and moving on to a selection of varied first courses, which were, above all, plentiful and truly delicious. Getting to the second courses wasn't easy, but we managed to enjoy the excellent saltimbocca. We'll definitely be back to try the other courses.
A true corner of Rome in the heart of Milan! Authentic Roman cuisine, intense flavors, and dishes made with love. The carbonara is dreamy, the cacio e pepe is perfect, and the supplì… addictive! Warm atmosphere, super friendly staff (the owner, who is also my fellow countryman, is super), and the price is fair. If you love Roman cuisine, you have to try it at least once (but you'll definitely be back 😉). 🔁 It will become our regular stop.
I'll start by saying that, as I'm not an expert on traditional Roman cuisine, everything I say will be based solely on my personal tastes. I visited this restaurant out of curiosity, and I have to say I'm glad I did. The place is nice and well-organized, so you don't feel too close to anyone at your table. The staff is fantastic and immediately makes you feel at home. They're kind and helpful, and it felt like we'd known each other for a long time. I enjoyed Roman cuisine, of course. I would have preferred some things slightly different, but everything was excellent, and the portions are so generous that you won't be able to finish them on an empty stomach! I'll definitely be back to try the dishes I couldn't stomach, and I recommend it to anyone who wants to spend a lovely evening eating well, and not to mention spending very little!
We had dinner on a Monday evening, a quiet place. The food was good, in addition to the appetizer platter and the usual Roman first courses, all delicious. We managed to eat the pork cheek and oxtail stew, dishes uncommon in Lombardy, very well cooked, accompanied by a good Roman red house wine. The owners are very kind, and thanks to the small crowd, we were able to entertain ourselves, and it was a wonderful evening.
The restaurant offers truly delicious traditional Roman dishes at more than fair prices thanks to their all-you-can-eat menu (which I think is a real treat). The staff is simply adorable and incredibly kind, and they make sure you have a truly enjoyable evening. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing, close to the Navigli area. We'll definitely be back!
At Dar Bottarolo in Milan, you can enjoy a fantastic all-you-can-eat feast of Roman appetizers, first courses, second courses, and side dishes. I chose tripe, supplì al telefono, chicory, artichokes, and beans for an appetizer. The carbonara was generous, as was the saltimbocca alla Romana. Many dishes are served based on the day's availability of ingredients. Carbonara is guaranteed! Reservations are welcome, either by calling the website or online.
An all-you-can-eat experience with Roman dishes. Generous portions and a good selection. We start with a mixed antipasti platter, 6 or 7 samples including tripe, all delicious. Then we move on to the classic first courses, cacio e pepe, carbonara, matricola, and others. Then the second courses, 3 to try all if you're not full. Worth a try.
I was eagerly awaiting this place in Milan, too. Once it opened, I tried it right away. The AYCE option is excellent, the food is medium-high quality. Excellent value for money. A special mention goes to their cheeks in wine, a real explosion of flavor. The wait staff and chef made us feel right at home. I recommend it and will be back.
Today was Elena's birthday, a party of seven. The place was very small for me; we had reserved for nine, but we couldn't have eaten comfortably because we had a table placed diagonally in the middle of the walkway. We sat outside. The reservation system definitely needs rethinking. The menu includes a simple appetizer. Plus first and second courses, and drinks included, it seems nice. Ratings The appetizers were few but good. 7 Gricia 7 Matriciana 7.5 Carbonara 7 Saltimbocca 6.5, too salty Chicken and peppers 7 Lamb 7.5, but not enough Tiramisu extra 7 Cold Romanelli wine 7 Sparkling white 6.5 The service wasn't easy, but it was made up for by a very friendly and helpful girl. Beautiful outdoor location. Hard chairs...for my taste. We'll be back because, ultimately, it's a nice option with a very fair quality/price ratio. Thank you 👌
Friendly and cheerful atmosphere. Super efficient and empathetic wait staff, especially the waitress Alessia and her mother, who are extraordinary, but... BUT THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ROMAN! Culinary experience: Terrible! Poor appetizers, precooked pasta, and the same-sized toppings (Gricia, Carbonara, and Cacio e Pepe, WHERE ARE THEY????) INADIBLE main courses, raw meat, tasteless chicken, and defrosted and poorly cooked meatballs! Discount store wine. I'm sorry, it's not my style to speak negatively about other people's work, but DON'T PASS YOURSELF OFF as a Roman restaurant when you're little more than a run-of-the-mill trattoria on the outskirts of town.
Canceled company dinner Last night, we had made a reservation at this restaurant with colleagues to wish each other a Merry Christmas. They promised us special opening hours for our table of 20, but when we arrived, the restaurant was completely closed. After several calls to inquire, the excuse was "we took the reservation," and so 20 people who had driven several hours to get there found themselves without dinner. Unprofessional, and given the poor organization, I certainly won't go back even by mistake to try a place like this.
Saturday, November 15, 2025. I'm revisiting an old post I'd saved (unfortunately) about this Roman cuisine special. I go to the website, book, pay, and get a small discount with advance payment. The Facebook page says: all you can eat and drink, water, wine, beverages, dessert, and a digestif. ALL INCLUSIVE!! And that's the premise that seemed really interesting! We arrive at the restaurant, there are two of us, we go in, and this older gentleman who claims to be the owner greets us. He stops us on the steps, we tell him we've booked, and with his hand in his pocket, he says, annoyed and grumpy, "No, no, there are no reservations." I'm already annoyed, so I ask him to check more carefully because I've already paid!" After a five-minute wait, still on the steps, without even letting us sit (the restaurant only had one table occupied, so if he'd been more careful, he could have let us sit first and then gotten a better look at everything), and creating this rather awkward situation, he manages to find our reservation and, quite annoyed, seats us. This continues this mystical experience where we thought we were in a candid camera! He arrives again, this time with both hands in his pockets, and asks us what we'd like to drink. We ask for two Cokes and he immediately stops us, saying only water and wine are included... so the promo scam is already taking shape. He brings us the appetizers without even providing a menu, claiming he's the menu... now that we're there and having already paid, we decide to continue this disastrous lunch. We move on to the first courses, ordering a carbonara and a matriciana. After a half-hour wait, the pasta arrived, only the carbonara, telling me they bring out pasta for everyone... so we had to wait for him to prepare the pasta for 14 people at once (total number of people inside) and only after that would the amatriciana arrive... this carbonara arrived, flavorless with a semblance of pecorino only on top and, obviously, COLD. After the first courses we moved on to the second courses, saltimbocca, which tasted like boiled meat, and meatballs in sauce which arrived (drum roll) with the same sauce as the amatriciana where in fact we found a piece of guanciale on the plate.... to finish, we asked for dessert and a digestif but the great owner (strictly with his hands in his pockets) told us that these were not part of the menu either.... we got up and ran away from this dilapidated restaurant. Obviously I will never set foot in there again and I advise you not to be fooled by these fake entrepreneurs who are only trying to pick up people without then delivering on their promises!
A total disappointment, an experience to forget We were a table of 10 and sat down at 2:00 PM for an all-you-can-eat lunch that turned out to be anything but up to expectations. The first surprise came as soon as we entered: the price listed on the blackboard (€23.99 excluding drinks) was different from what was advertised on Instagram, which advertised a deal that included unlimited wine, dessert, coffee, and a digestif. We asked for clarification and were treated condescendingly by someone who introduced himself as the manager of the Bottarolo chain. Despite the terrible start, we decided to sit down anyway. Unfortunately, the service was incredibly slow: we waited over half an hour before anyone approached our table, and even longer for the appetizers to arrive. An eternity passed between courses, and the waitress seemed to deliberately ignore us every time we asked for seconds or tried to attract attention. When the main courses arrived, they were barely enough for two out of ten people. We couldn't even ask for anything else because it was almost 5:00 PM and we found ourselves alone in the restaurant. The wine was frankly undrinkable, the overall quality of the food was mediocre, and the service was not only slow but also rude. I'd had a good experience at Bottarolo in Rome, but this one in Milan was a real disappointment. I definitely won't be returning, nor will I recommend it.
I'm sorry for such a harsh review, but the night we were there, nothing worked. The lack of organization was everywhere. From the reservation, to the organization of the dining room, to the first courses served. The appetizer was not bad. The paccheri carbonara and the spaghettini cacio e pepe didn't convince us: we were expecting the classic pasta shape. At a certain point, the kitchen closed and the chef left the restaurant. They were honest when it came to the bill. Courtesy needs to be improved, a lot.
