Best restaurant in town. Owners and wait staff are absolutely terrific and the quality of food is of the highest standard. Lovely design as well.
We loved our experience at Oca Bianca! Our hotel recommended them for a Pesto & Wine Class, which was phenomenal. It was just my husband and I, where we made classic Ligurian pesto that was Cesare and Riccardo's (the brothers who own the restaurant) grandmother's recipe. They then served delicious white and red wines, focaccia, pasta, and basil sorbet. It was so good that we cancelled our reservations for another place a few nights later and came back for dinner. This was a great decision as their menu was fantastic. While most restaurants in town focused on fish given the setting, Oca Bianca does both meats and fish, so it's a nice change. Riccardo used surprising blends of flavors that worked so well together. Every part of the meal was perfect and the picturesque lane we sat in was a great outdoor setting. We hope to come back again soon!
Absolutely incredible! The food and hospitality is the best here in Santa Margarita. The dishes are works of art that look as good as they taste. My wife and I will certainly come back again!
From the moment we sat down, dining at Oca Bianca felt like a true discovery. The staff was warm and attentive, and every dish — paired with thoughtfully selected wine — was outstanding. The menu stands apart from anything else we encountered in the region, both in creativity and execution. After two weeks of eating our way through Italy, this was easily the most memorable meal of the trip. Missing it would be a real shame.
The staff was wonderful, welcoming and knowledgeable. The wine recommendations we received were as good as I’ve ever experienced, including Michelin star spots. The food was fantastic. Cannot recommend enough
Good speghetti with tomato sauce. Got the T bone and liked it, the cost for the steak was $80 usd and it’s large for plus 2 people. One of the better meals on this trip. Service is really great. No room for dessert. Overall, food was tasty and on spot.
Incredible food! I have no idea how there are rubbish reviews as this place was exceptional. The staff first and foremost are so attentive and friendly. They have obvious passion and love for the food and wine. Then the actual food and wine is incredible. We’ve been to Italy for decades and this is one of the best meals, for a good price, that we have ever had. Highlight of our honeymoon for food.
A must in Santa Margherita Ligure! We had dinner at Oca Bianco, which also included a wine tasting. Caesar was in charge and did a fabulous job of selecting the perfect local wines to go with our meal. The food was spectacularly prepared and was selected by Caesar for us. This place is so good that you should make reservations and be sure not to miss this lovely restaurant.
The evening was a perfect choreography of three artists and two chefs. The food was truly spectacular. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to have a special experience. The carbonara is to die for - a modern take on an Italian classic. The staff is superbly attentive to detail. The food was 10/10. The sommeliers also helped me pick a wine that was from the area and at the end of my meal I got to enjoy a very rare dessert wine from cinque terre that they age in their wine cellar until it is ready. Foodies will enjoy this hidden gem.
We booked ahead for a table here. Got one in the corner, where our Bulldog was welcome too, that was very nice. There's a lot of meat items on the menu, as well as some Italian classics. Nice wine list as well. Inside it's a classy, comfy atmosphere. The (younger) staff was very friendly and took care of us very well. There was a complimentary Amuse Bouche first. We ordered the Tasting starter plate. Meaning a bit of everything that you could order in single servings as well: Steak Tartare, medium-cooked beef and pork with polenta. All very good items, the Tartare and beef both excellent, the pork was decent. For the mains we had the Steak Rossini: Cooked as ordered (medium), with hot Foie Gras on top and a wine-reduction sauce. Always a favourite of ours, this dish. And it was cooked very good - meat quality was great. Piemont beef. We had a glass of Prosecoo first, a glass white Pigato for the starter and a glass of Sangiovese for the main. The wines were nice. But it was really little wine in the glass only....for the price we did expect a more generous pour. From our countless visits to Italy and many many visits to restaurant, this was by far the one that really saved on the amount of wine. And then there's the price. It came together at just under 170 Euros. Compared to other experiences in town, this was clearly the most expensive. And for that a bit overpriced. Make no mistake, it's a good restaurant with good quality food. But 140 to 150 Euros (tops) would be appropriate. There are so many excellent restaurants in town, so this one here was a nice experience, but we probably won't be back.
We visited this restaurant, which positions itself as a steakhouse, with high hopes. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely negative for several reasons. Smoking Issue and Staff Inaction: Upon arrival, we immediately noticed that all 5 people at the next table were smoking and continued to do so throughout the evening. We were there with our son, and this was unacceptable. We asked to be moved to another table, but the staff took no action whatsoever to resolve the situation. This was a complete disregard for the comfort of non-smoking guests, especially families with children. Quality of the Main Course (Meat) - A Disaster: We ordered several dishes. The truffle pasta was tasty (this is the only positive). However, in a steakhouse, the main course – the meat – turned out to be completely inedible! We ordered it Medium, but received it Rare (almost raw). Moreover, the meat was incredibly tough and impossible to chew properly ("not fit for teeth" is absolutely accurate). We expected a quality steak but got disappointment for a considerable price. Ignoring the Problem with the Dish: We left most of the meat untouched. The waiters, clearing the tables, clearly saw this. When the bill arrived, we explicitly stated that the meat was very tough and we hadn't eaten it. Instead of apologizing, offering a replacement, compensation, or even asking for details, they simply... presented us with the full bill. Absolute indifference to whether a guest enjoyed their main course. Rudeness and Attempt to Blame the Guest: When I expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of the meat during payment, instead of apologizing or trying to address the issue, the manager (a gentleman in a white shirt, unfortunately I don't know his name) pointed at the coaster, claiming my son had scratched it. This was the height of disrespect and a completely inappropriate response to a complaint about food quality! Trying to shift the conversation to an allegedly damaged item instead of solving the real problem of an inedible dish is an unacceptable level of service. Conclusion: A restaurant that calls itself a steakhouse failed to cook meat properly (wrong doneness + toughness). The staff ignored both the smoking problem and the issue with the quality of the main course. And the final attempt to blame the guest instead of apologizing is simply rude. Regarding the food (except the pasta) and the service – complete disappointment. I cannot recommend it to anyone, especially if you're going for a good steak or expect a reasonable response to your feedback. Rating 1/10, and that's only for the pasta.
Unfortunately, I didn’t get the chance to try the food — and honestly, I didn’t want to after the way I was received. The staff was cold, dismissive, and surprisingly rude from the moment I walked in. There was a clear lack of basic courtesy and professionalism. I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable, which is not something anyone should experience at a restaurant. First impressions matter, and this one was disappointing enough to make me walk right back out.
