I had the pleasure of dining at this lovely Japanese restaurant today, and it was an experience worth every penny and every moment spent. From the moment we enter, the atmosphere is calm and welcoming, What stood out more than the delicious food was the exceptional service. The two waiters who served us were incredibly polite and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed. One young gentleman from Bangladesh, in particular, went out of his way to assist us,He's warm and helpful attitude really made our dining experience special. The food itself was a testament to authentic Japanese cuisine beautifully presented fresh and full of flavour. From perfectly rolled sushi to delicious ramen and tempura every dish was a delight for the senses. The quality of preparation and attention to detail was evident making it clear that this restaurant prioritizes excellence in both taste and presentation. Love this restaurant 😍 I hope i will be there for soon.
It was my first Michelin star restaurant, must say one of the best experiences one can wish to have, the food was mostly to die for, just amazing, the sauces were out of the world, the fish as well, they have a variety of Sake and cocktails, the service was excellent. We took a fixed menu which was costumaized to each one of us with our dietary issues/intolerance. We had a perfect evening, lovely food and good time.
I felt like in the movie set “lost in translation” when I first arrived in this Michelin star Japanese restaurant, which reminded me of my trip in Osaka many years ago. Really worth the visit and the experience in many ways regarding the dishes on the set menu I had choose including a charcoal grilled Wagyu beef. Loved also the caramelised pork served with a slightly spiced sauce & condiment dish then I had a very nice sashimi dish with 3 différents fish including tuna & Italian shrimp. The service was excellent by a very good Italian chef de rang and her Asian collègue. I dine by myself but the atmosphere was busy (quite noisy) and all sorts of clients from international travellers to Italian family and business people. I didn’t feel lonely at all but the time fled so fast . Great selection of japanese beer. If you want to experience the meal in front the Japanese chefs you will have to book well in advance . Definitely a serious top class experience for once not based on Italian food over my trip in Milan. Well done team.
I had an overall positive experience. Starting with the food, we chose the chef’s tasting menu, which consists of six courses, including raw, cooked, and cold dishes. Some are better than others, but overall it’s very good. The service was impeccable, with attention to every detail to ensure an outstanding experience. For drinks, I had a 180ml bottle of sake at a great price, which complemented the meal perfectly.
Everything was perfect. Service was spectacular. Food flavours were very unique & interesting. Very well presented / plated. It’s a little on the pricey side though. One bottle of water is €10. Not sure if everyone would think it’s worth the high price. But overall a good dining experience for me.
This is an overdue review, but I happened to book a reservation in Sept 2022 during a collaboration night with Chef Takeshi Iwai and Chef Federico Zanasi (Condividere Restaurant, in Turin). It was our last night in Milan and we didnt realize we were about to sit through a 12-course meal, and dine from 8pm til like midnight. We were stuffed. We were close to tapping out after dish #8 but glad we made it to the end. Service and food was just amazing that night and honestly one of the most memorable meals I’ve had.
Highly recommend!!! Restaurants located on the second floor of the platform. Japanese restaurant that has Italian taste, 2 cultures are together. There are 3 different tasting menus (1 vegetarian) and some ala carte. We took 5 and 8 meal courses. All of them was fantastic! There are 4 different Japanese beers :D Wide selection of wines and champagne.
We had the most plreasant stay at this wonderful restaurant. The food was exceptional and the service outstanding. We had the five course tasting menu and some glasses of wine. The wines per glass were absolutely fantastic - what is really noteworthy and not common according to my experience. All the courses very tasty and very fun to eat. We had a great night out! Thank you Aalto-team.
The dining experience was exquisite and the chef was gracious and competent enough to accommodate our last minute request for vegetarian food. That being said I would rank the food a 4/5 for vegetarian (for our last minute request, keep in mind). Cannot comment on the standard menu items. Great ambiance, superb service and hospitality, not to mention beautiful plating and presentation. The food was unique and interesting. Assuming the menu meets your palette, I’d highly recommend. Do check the menu before going, and call ahead to request for vegetarian if necessary.
The best experience in Milan! My tastebuds are still in awe at the flavors and combinations. New and familiar flavors all mixed together, to result in a journey in far away places without never leaving Milan. The closing dessert is really just amazing, I was speechless. The atmosphere of the restaurant is also fantastic, very private and modern, with views on the skyline.
The food was incredibly interesting and surprisingly tasty and I can't say enough about the phenomenal service. Every employee was so kind, respectful, and attentive. At one point I simply made a comment at my table about how a knife would be helpful, and before I knew it, a waiter brought me one without me even asking. Highly recommend this place if it fits within your budget.
A truly romantic atmosphere for a special evening. The interior design, the small details, the lighting and quality of the service make the perfect background for an original and elaborate cousine. It's expensive but you'll leave satisfied since the experience and the food are totally worth it.
We have visited IYO for NY evening. Overall it was a nice experience. Beautiful modern restaurant, polite stuff. Possibly, for someone with a lot of experience with Japanese cuisine the menu may seem a little bold, and foreigners-oriented which is understandable since we are in Italy. I personally felt a little bored, we havnt really discovered any new flavors. I was expecting a little more from Michelin restaurant. Another a little disappointed point is that my husband got sick with the stomach immediately after the dinner.
Good food, with some dishes above average but others really just average, which is not what you would expect from a Michelin-starred restaurant. There was also very little attention to detail. My partner told them he was going to propose tonight, and they wrote “Happy Anniversary” on the desserts. It’s not our anniversary.
Any Michelin restaurant that starts with potato chip amuse bouche will always grab my attention, unfortunately, the rest of the meal did not deliver the expected wow factor. Conceptually, the food should have been fantastic, with interesting flavor combinations and unique pairings. My biggest complaint is temperature and texture. A lot of items came out at room temperature and seemingly undercooked. At first I was wondering, is this just really, really al dente, but my fiance felt the same: the peas were a step beyond raw and the pasta was too hard. I did find myself delighted by some dishes, sea urchin ice cream, although bizzarre, was unique and well executed. Disappointingly, none of the wine pairings redeemed the meal either. I will say the service was fantastic, we were well taken care of from start to finish and wanted for nothing. The ambiance and decor is also stunning. Overall, at this price point, you can do better.
Hospitality was 100%- the servers were great, fine-looking, professional and made me feel welcomed. But from an Asian POV, I’m sorry to say the food isn’t really good. A few feedback: 1) sour rhubarb juice in chawamushi doesn’t cut it. It’s meant to be savoury. 2) anago/unagi would be better if it had a melt in the mouth texture and no rubbery skin. 3) the pigeon was horrid I couldn’t finish this dish too. Perhaps not marinated well so it tasted too gamey. I appreciate the creativity and presentation but taste was a downer. 4) their signature spaghetti dish was wayyy too al dente it almost felt uncooked. They graciously returned it and send me a new dish but I felt bad. The dipping sauce had droplets of some essential oil thing which made it weird. I spotted a Japanese chef at the Omakase counter and really do wonder if he came up with these dishes or offered his advice - if he did, I’m surprised. Bread and airy butter was my favourite! Portions are huge though- you’ll be leaving with a food coma.
