It has great food and excellent service. I only had to wait a minute before my food was ready and it was warm and delicious.
One of the best in the North Bay. Eat there at least twice a month and have never had a bad meal. A favorite for sure!
Overpriced and ala carte
Love this place! Great food, friendly service, good price! Favorite place to eat in Marin hands down.
Can't beat their chicken taco salad. Definitely one of my favorite items to bring home for dinner.
Great place for fast delicious affordable Mexican food, especially on warm summer evenings.
Best burritos in Marin County, IMO. Tell Estuardo that Enrique sent you 😃
My kids love Grilly's. Very much appreciate that you can call ahead and order.
Great food, great staff, not great for large parties, unless you cater, other than that what can I say, but, GREAT!
Best chicken vegi burrito in Marin and the chicken taco salad is a great movie night meal.
The food is really good. But they don't have margaritas though
Best Nachos on the planet!!
Excellent food priced reasonably. Enjoyed it very much.
Best chicken lime soup and the nachos were great too.
Go to burrito spot in Mill Valley! Have been going here for years. Highly recommend.
Best chicken taco salad dressing is amazing and good burritos!
Bargain burritos and food in pricey Mill Valley.
My go to place. Food is pretty cheap tasty. I really like there drinks. Mango refresher is the best.
Super healthy veggie burrito, really enjoyed it. Thanks Estuardo!
Really love the food here, and I love the the packaging for takeout is all cardboard instead of plastic
Great place for lunch. The chicken mango burrito was delicious and the outdoor patio was the ideal spot to enjoy lunch and a breeze.
Great burritos, horchata & salsas. Highly recommend!
Food is excellent quality. Grande burritos are the best. Hot salsa here is the best salsa ive had!
The food was light and tasty but the best part was the freshly squeezed watermelon juice 😋
Didn't eat here this time. Food was very good when I ate here previously. Had a beverage waiting for my car to be serviced. Convenient. Had to share a table because the high schoolers occupied most of the table.
First time to Grilly's, came in on a recommendation from a M.V. local. I travel up and down CA for work, and Grilly's asada burrito is top 3 for me. Fresh ingredients, quick service, and fair prices. I could tell everything was prepared fresh that day. You most definitely have to try the Flan as well!!!
The restaurant is clean, inviting and always pleasant. Their food is consistently great! I don't go here enough. The manager really cares about the place and his crew and it shows. I highly recommend this place!
Very delicious Mexican food at a very fair price. I got the fish and shrimp tacos and it's one of the best I ever tasted. A lot better than some of the big name restaurant.
I love this place!!!!! This has been the favorite restaurant period I have ever gone to since I was 5. I don’t know what people with bad reviews ordered, but in general it is amazing! 12/10 would recommend.
The value per dollar is great, the staff is quick and friendly, they have outdoor and indoor seating, and I believe they just remodeled the outside. They also put up decorations every 4th of July and Memorial Day.
Consistently good food. Reasonable prices, rare in Mill Valley. Friendly employees.
Been eating Grilly’s for over a decade. Great food! The chicken taco salad wrap is a must!
What a delightful, lowkey spot. Very clean and friendly customer service. Straightforward menu with loads of options. I opted for the kid size burrito as it was still large enough to fill me up! The horchata is nice also. I've heard the chicken taco salad is good but I haven't tried. Very recommended if you are driving back after a day in the Marin Headlands and looking for something affordable and fresh.
I am an extremely frequent customer and have had well over 1,000 Grilly’s burritos in over a decade of eating here. I find everything about Grilly’s fantastic from the food, service, and atmosphere, to the cleanliness of the taqueria. The food is always fresh tasting, delicious, and the service is speedy no matter what is ordered. I strongly recommend their rice bean and cheese burritos, chicken nachos, or chicken taco salads. Anything with grilled chicken is going to be exceptional at Grilly’s. The staff are always welcoming and friendly and the place is always kept clean. Grilly’s porch is the perfect place to enjoy some delicious Mexican food with a few friends. For fast, fresh, delicious, affordable Mexican food, Grilly’s is 100% the best place in town.
Really solid for burritos, nachos and their soup. The chicken soup is outstanding and an often overlooked item. Their grilled steak and chicken are both delicious. On the more Marin side for burrito places (skews more expensive and with higher quality ingredients, but less ooey gooey delicious).
The nachos are absolutely beautiful. Would also recommend the spice tea with the veggie platter.
I really recommend to you this place. Great taco fish and shrimp.

Great location in Mill Valley and ample parking. The menu is on the wall and has lots to choose from. The prices are excellent and the portions are huge. No matter what I've tried, everything is delicious from a steak and cheese quesadilla to a grilled chicken super burrito or even a wonderful steak or chicken taco salad which is one of my favorites. You don't want to miss trying this great place to eat.
Family took out a delicious meal the other night and here we are back for lunch.
Fast good Mexican. Not really traditional but also not too far off. It is definitely adapted to fit suburban Mexican food tastes. In other words, it’s not the Mission district but it’s also not the highly vanilla Mexican food of Baja Fresh. They do push it with burritos like the mango salsa burrito which is a bit funky but I love it and get it all the time. The best thing on the menu is the chicken taco salad which is a classic. I dig everything here for the most part and the people who run it are great - owner is a nice guy to boot. Great community restaurant.
Love Grilly’s! One of my favorite spots in MV. Their chicken taco salad is amazing, burritos are great, and fish tacos as well.
By far one of the best fish tacos of Marin. The outdoor seating is plentiful and it's a perfect spot for a light bite or a full lunch.
My wife and I absolutely love Grilly’s. We dream about the lime chicken soup constantly. The taco salad wrap is always our go to pick up order after a long day on Mount Tam. Not sure what the bad reviews are about as we LOVE Grillys and look forward to getting it almost on a weekly basis!

Had the Chorizo Breakfast Burrito here. It's pretty good, a little on the expensive side but everything in Mill Valley is.
Lots of choices and great food but don't go during the high school lunch period
I've eaten at Grilly's more than 10 times and have always been served exactly what I ordered, fresh, well-prepared, and tasty!
Great food in a great location, but be prepared to pay tourist prices. Steer clear weekdays during lunch hours because it packs out with high schoolers from down the street.
Great food - just wish there was a little more seating. Nothing bad to say about this place aside from the lack of space!
They have good Mexican-inspired cuisine that's quite affordable considering it's Mill Valley. They also have the best vegetarian burritos in Marin! Not just the good ol' r/b/c or mixed veggie, but they actually make vegetarian food that has substance and can hold you over until your next meal. I loved the sauteéd tofu with mixed veggies and brown rice and highly recommend it :) the only reason why I am not giving them a 5-star rating is because they don't drain their tofu before cooking it which makes the burrito fall apart halfway through eating it.
Marin County Mexican restaurant with locations in Mill Valley and Fairfax. The food is fast but it's not fast food. Good quality ingredients, tasty menu offerings, reasonable prices, and friendly staff. My favorite item here is the fish tacos, - - Alaskan Pollock, grilled and served on a soft corn tortilla with cabbage slaw, mango salsa, crema, and lime. Delicious! I usually substitute Pico for the crema and they're happy to accommodate. The Spanish rice is pretty good too,not to mention the burritos. In fact, try everything ;it's all good. Recommended
Exceptionally clean throughout, food was good (Defn get the hot salsa), ample easy parking.
Good quality food. However, they are following the Bay Area status quo: they're overpriced & the portions are too small. They also break from tradition & charge for chips and salsa.
Decent enough for Mill Valley. I like their vegetarian burritos but the taco salad was little more than a pile of lettuce with salsa. I won't order that again.
The food overall is very good, consistent, and affordable. I have tried the Grilly's in Fairfax, Ca, in West Marin and the quality and portions are not as good. This Grilly's in particular is great for quick, convenient meals on the go or a casual sit down. The menu has good options and I recommend the Taco salad wrap or the Chicken grande burrito.
Nice atmosphere, quiet, friendly, food was good. Only got the veggie buritto, didn't find the veggies until the last two bites. Next time I'll open it and spread the goods around
I like Grilly's but I wouldn't recommend the chicken burrito. It tasted like rice, chicken and soggy beans wrapped in a paper towel-- absolutely no taste whatsoever. I would go for the supreme or something else. My wife however did like the tofu version.

I was very happy with my food (shrimp taco salad), but the 2 other people I ate here with got steak & hated Howe dry their food was.
The food is OK. It was not very temperature hot and there isn't any hot sauce to go with it. The place is very clean and it is not very expensive.
Feels more like a place for a tourist than a taco shop. Food was good but nothing to write home about.
Construction across the street is loud. Food was OK, at best.
Head to the counter to order. A bit pricey for what it is but good flavours. Small outdoor seating area at the front but no dogs/pets allowed.
Was not a fan of all the highschool teenagers that frequent this place. I got a large order, and many of the people getting burritos complained that they were mostly filler (rice/beans), an I ended up with a Taco Salad wrap, and it was not what I would have wanted had I had the choice and it seemed too "white people" food, it's Marin what should I expect real Mexican food.
Nothing to write home about, you wont get sick and better than mexican food Ive had in the Midwest states, or in Europe...but not my go to Mex place...I just go here when my dog is at the vet. Skip the horchata...it's not good.
This is highly rated by many in Mill Valley. I therefore may just not be ordering the right things, but I have found the food to be rather bland (e..g. Not a lot of vegetables added to items unless you pay extra $). Seems too expensive for what you get.
The food is pretty good but they often get your order wrong.
Good atmosphere with a covered outside eating area with heaters. Reasonably priced for the large portions. Burritos are good, not amazing - and more 'healthy' and plain than authentic or rich. The shrimp one was not necessarily something I would order again, though. They also have burritos without tortillas in a box, which my girlfriend thought was very good. Its sometimes overwhelmed by crouds of people, often from nearby Tam High.
Ok place. First time. Don't ask for mild salsa/anything. Literally no flavor. Felt little pricey for what we got but maybe everything has gone up.
Nice staff and quick service, but the menu needs to be clearer about what "Veggies" they're putting in a non-vegetarian burrito. I ordered a Grilled Chicken + Veggies burrito, expecting sauteed peppers and red onions. After driving home, I bit in to discover Broccoli, Zucchini, Carrots, and Squash. Are you kidding me? It didn't say that on the menu or I wouldn't have ordered that. I opened the online menu to find that it says this on the "Vegetarian Burrito" menu, WHICH I DIDN'T ORDER FROM! Now I'm out my money and can't go back to get a new one. FIX THE MENU! NORMAL PEOPLE DON'T WANT BROCCOLI, SQUASH, ZUCCHINI, AND CARROTS IN THEIR BURRITOS!!!
Great local spot. Not worth the trouble unless you gorge on their foodstuffs tho. Premiere dishes for the budget-friendly. I can't deny it's the only eatery like it around. Worth the smell.

Very bland tasting burrito and gave me gas. Chipotle is much better, though I usually like local restaurants.
Very over priced, "fresh guacamole", was a mix, burritos were kinda bland, will not go again
Never know if they are going to be open even if hours posted say open
Didn't have what they needed for my meal so that may have been part of my dissatisfaction.
Ordered over phone and drove down to pick it up. Don’t take Amex or don’t take a payment from your phone!! Come on, get with it Grillys!! You can do better than that.
Customer service is poor in this place. The guy is not interested in helping you with the food you are asking for. The quality of the chicken was in bad shape. I’ll never be back again.
We live just up the street from this place, we really really want to like it, but the food is just too bland. Not enough salt/pepper, and other basics. This place could be a jewel in MV, they just need to up the ante on the flavor.
Ehhh its ok. The worst experience I've had there was when I ordered a cheese and bean burrito and they ended up giving me a chicken and cheese one, I was flexible until I found three hairs in my food. Long brown strands of hair🤒
Everything was going fine until they told me the price of one burrito which is $20!!! Because of the price I will never be coming back.
Saw lots of unsanitary things going on here. The cashier was handling money, then without washing hands, went straight into the ice bin with contaminated hands, then went and filled the community drinking water... still without washing her hands. Then there was a parade of stinky trash cans being brought out the side door by the kitchen staff, sticking their hands in the cans and pushing down the trash and then grabbing the handle on the door.... all while people were eating in the dining room. I just don't understand these practices. Isn't anyone a certified food handler/manager? This is cross contamination at it finest. I saw all this as I was chewing my first bite. I then spit it out, tossed my food and left. I swallowed a bit, and now I have serious heartburn. Hopefully I don't get sick, but someone in charge needs to address this. I can only imagine what's going on in the back of the house if this is what they allow in the front. This was my first time eating here and my last.
Pretty run of the mill place. I had a chicken salad and it was pretty basic and not flavorful at all. It had a decent amount of chicken but that was the highlight. The only reason I might return is to try a burrito because the prices for this are decent. But otherwise, not sure I would returns
We walked in ready to spend some money prices were fine for the food we expected. We got greeted was a okay experience ordering. Food came out and I bit into my burrito and I got a metal piece of the scraper. I let them know not for any refund not for another burrito to be made just to let them know. The attitude from one of the workers was not needed. This restaurant is definitely a money grab. Food had no taste had to douse it with salsa. But you get what you pay for and I definitely won’t be stopping here again

order one burrito for 16 dollars and the sour cream was rotten
They didn’t put steak in my steak burrito and charged me 10$
Food over priced especially for the quality it is. They do not have fountain drinks so you pay $2.50 for a small bottle of soda to which they recycle all the glass bottles.
i use to go here every week but stoped going since they put half the portion they used to ordered a burrito and it was half the size it use to be and i told manger hopfully the Fairfax is better!!!
The nachos, which should be pretty easy are not good. The salsa was not good either. The horchata was a lo it ofnvanillanconcentrate in white water, no consistency whatsoever. We are not going back.
The quesadilla I ordered was wet and soggy. I wish could've resisted to get Mexican food from grillys. But I love Mexican food.
Extremely Rude person who helped me got the entire order wrong and then hung up on me. Unable to speak or understand English over the phone. ...Dont waste your money.
Didn't like it, hardly any meat my burrito was all rice and beans no flavor. Will not be returning.
Food was bland and overpriced. There was no discernable difference between mild and hot salsa. Completely dissatisfied with it.
Keep driving, don't stop there! I ordered a chicken quesadilla (can't mess that up, right?) It was gross! So stingy with the cheese that parts of the tortilla were plain. The chicken was gross, so I scraped it all off, so I had a tortilla with a tiny amount of cheese. The salsa and guacamole were good, though. My husband had a burrito, but it was small, and didn't come with anything. Another person in our party had nachos, which he didn't like, while another had shrimp tacos, which she said were good. The cashier was cold and scowling.
Worst mexican food in the bay area, and I just said that about a different place last week. Guess I gotta go change that review. Carne Asada tasted like it was boiled, spanish rice hella overcooked. Didn't even bother trying the "vegetarian beans" offered for their burritos. This is "white people" Mexican food at its very worst.
Worst Customer service ever called 7 times to place an order the guy answering the phone kept saying please hold and I would and 5 Sec. Later he would hang up on me and I would keep calling and every call the same thing the last call I made I asked to speak to a manager and he said please hold was on the line waiting for more than 7 min. All I wanted was Mexican food but not anymore had service...
only got a burrito "grande" but only thing grande about it was the price for an old see through tortilla full of slop. no complimentary chips, no salsa or sour cream in the burrito, no taste. dont waste your time
Normally I do not like to make bad recommendations but in this place, it needs a lot starting with customer service, the cashier is not good, very rude and it is not authentic Mexican food, I ordered carne asada, and they give me shredded beef, it is the first and last time I come to this place, I leave it to your discretion if you want to try this place good luck
My worst meal, I visited it in the past and it was acceptable, this time it was the worst there is and it was the best dish, my friend ordered a burrito and it made her sick, how bad the food is in this place. Muy mala comida los burritos solo son arroz sin sabor...

Ordered takeout today. It was awful and inedible. Went right to the trash. Chicken enchilada was bland...did not taste like chicken...something processed? Nachos were soggy after the 10 minute drive to our office. Inedible! We will not be returning.
I’ve been going to Grilly’s for 28 years if not longer. So today was a sad day for me because I can’t go back there again. I don’t usually write reviews even when things are bad but I have to say something after my interaction this evening. I’ve had issues with them forgetting things in my burrito over the years, not the end of the world, for the most part they make it right when I tell them. Overall I have always loved Grilly’s and am disappointed by the behavior of their manager. Within the last 6 months I’ve had issues with them closing early. Multiple times planning dinner for my family to drive up to find it closed before their hours posted. Their posted hours were 9pm. I told the manager and he told me I was wrong. Apparently it was changed, but just not on their door. I showed him on his door and he was dumbfounded. I have come in around 7:50pm in evenings past and they said they were closed because they were slow. Not the best business model if you ask me. Especially if you actually want people to plan to have dinner at your establishment. Their hours are apparently 8:30pm. Again multiple times they have closed early. Once at 7:40pm and again at 7:30pm. I brought it up with the manager and he said they just could not justify staying open. I don’t think this is a good business model but it is what it is. Fine. I don’t care. I accept whatever they want to do it’s their prerogative as a business. Now I just don’t go as often due to their inconsistent hours. Now I typically call first. I came tonight at 7:30pm and saw the manager, they were open and told him I was happy to catch them before they were closed. He told me they never close early. Told me he has cameras and knows. I told him I’ve been there and it was closed early. I was ready to order and move on, but He asked me what day and time and that he had cameras. I told him I didn’t write it down in my calendar but it’s been a few times. He then called me a straight liar to my face. He said, “don’t lie to me, be to be a man and don’t to lie. Wow… I’m not sure what was going on in his day that he talked to anyone this way but I’ll just say no one is going to put up with being called a liar from a manager of a restaurant. This guy was not there when they closed early. This review is to the owner, just in case you actually want to know how your partner is behaving at your place of business. You have a guy in the hospitality business that has no business being in the hospitality business anymore. I own a business and I would never call someone a liar even if I thought it to be true. Sad day for me, but obviously I have to cut ties now. Because I won’t be called a liar by a guy who wasn’t even there. Treat people like you would want to be treated, and for the record I don’t have the energy or time to lie about such things. I’m not entitled and I accept their hours, or whatever they want to do. But don’t call me a liar. Don’t call anyone a liar. Especially when you don’t know one way or the other. Assumptions make a fool.
