Excellent number of choices of different bento box meals and boba tea. The prices are reasonable and there are about enough seating for about 30 people for both inside and outdoor cafe.
It’s so clean, the bathroom is spacious and cleanly, the staff is friendly and chill, and the food is sooo good. We got the matcha milk tea, black boba tea, and mozzarella sticks. They all were delicious and the cheese pull was amazing!
Their popcorn chicken lunch box is very tasty. Chicken was seasoned perfectly and I liked that they switched up the veggie side dishes and had a good variety. Good amount of food for lunch!
Generous portion for the price. Taste is good.
Taste very good Make me feel like I am in Taiwan
I cant speak on the quality of the food but i can attest for the taste. Their basil popcorn chicken is a bit greasy but always crisp and moist on the inside. they have good seasonings and if you come during lunch you might wait over half an hour for your food, but it may be worth it to you
Great Taiwanese style fried chicken. It's a must try if you have never tried it before. It's a lot juicier and tender compared to most fried chicken you'll get here in US. They sell mostly fried food and they are all pretty decent. However, their drinks are not that good as i think they're over sweet. 5 stars for the unique Taiwanese style friend chicken as you won't find it anywhere else. They have a store in Oakland and decided to expand to south bay area.
Went to chick and tea again tonight since we were in the neighborhood. Their food continue to fantastic even it's an hour before they close for the day. We order three cup Chicken bento, fried sweet potato, and calamari. It's very late dinner, but we are stuffed and satisfied.
We come here almost every week for the basil popcorn chicken. Best popcorn chicken I've had in the U.S. More than comparable to Taiwanese street stalls and night markets, maybe even better. They marinade their chicken well, and fry it in a fantastic layer of crunch. The fried basil is transformative. Gpie here is pretty good as well, and the super-crunchy gpie is amazing.
Gpie, Taiwanese Tempura, and Basil Popcorn Chicken are good. Minced pork rice is a little flavorless in my opinion but you can still try it out if this dish suits your taste. The pork isn't very fatty while I favor those juicy, rich fats.
Had the GPIE combo with drink for only $10.99. The chicken was nice and crispy. Not greasy at all. They have a few spices on the side to sprinkle on top. I chose the red pepper for some kick. Definitely would come back again.
Chick and tea is an awesome, must experience, stop! With so many choices in the area, this one takes the cake. The service was great and the owner was extremely nice and grateful for our praise. Good food behind great people is everything you can ask for in a restaurant!
If you are looking for filling, tasty, and consistent popcorn chicken this is the place to go! I've been here about 3 times now and their fried snacks have all been pretty consistent so far.
Get the grilled Gi Pie - we get it every time now. We’ve become regulars. Tea is standard - good for the price, and if you don’t need boba. Calamari is really good. Good care. Variety of vegetables. Can order through their website for pick up. Friendly and nice staff. All around good.
basil popcorn chicken with sweet-and-sour sauce is really good
Chick and tea is a pretty affordable taiwanese cafe where they offer great milk tea and great lunch boxes. Ordering on their website is super easy and their response times are fast. Their sides change by the day and their common / most popular is B2 GPIE lunch special. Definitely recommend this place if ur in the area
Chicken is juicy inside and crunchy outside. Please make sure to add seasoning before you take a bit. Personally, I would like to pair the chicken with something sour, like Aiyu.
Cruising down the street and I see a line at this place. I decided to check it out. It was a bit chaotic with the to-go orders, plus only few tables to sit outside for diners. But, the customer service was good - they were trying their best with the rush. The basil popcorn chicken was the best I've had! When you get to enjoy it hot and fresh, even better! You can even skip the sauce. I also got Mango Tea and Brown Sugar Milk Tea. Both were refreshing. There's a discount with cash. Would definitely come here again.
My favorite Taiwanese fried chicken in the bay area, but the wait time is crazy long, it took more than 40min to get the food after order
There gpie and variants of this dish are very good. If you're watching your weight or worried about cholesterol then maybe order the grilled versions.
new printed menu on March19,2020. authentic taiwanese food! they have many flavors powder haha

This cafe is NEXT TO our zen acupuncture clinic. We are always busy, and often need good food fast - Chick and Tea is here! Yammy and great food!
Delicious popcorn chicken, cheaper than other places in the area. Super juicy and flavorful. Their boba is also so much cheaper than other places, jasmine milk tea with boba for $5 flat’

The grill Gpie taste really good and the fried beens, the rest are good but personally don’t like it that much, there are different drinks at less the jazmine green tea does not over cooked.
Food was just ok. Ordered half sugar but it tasted like 200%. Got the popcorn chicken bento box. The cucumber salad was not very tasty. When our orders are done, we didn’t receive any notifications.
Popcorn chicken was delicious, but the chicken strips i ordered were pretty tender. Maybe if it was more cooked it would've been better for me. Drinks were good but they should offer bigger sizes especially for the heavy sippers.
Great Taiwanese street food spot Can't really praise their milk tea, but it's not bad, just that I wouldn't come here for that alone Real high point of this spot is the chicken and street food; G-pie sandwich, chicken skewers, popcorn chicken, grilled Bell peppers with a savory sauce over it. Best experiences are in groups of 3+ where everyone shares an assortment of their dishes.
Love the grilled G-pie. Most other small plates are quite good too but the portions are on the small side given the pricing. Always plenty of parking spaces. Long list of tea drinks but no tapioca in a Taiwanese tea place? Come on!
"I wish I could say four and a half." Greetings Chick and Tea in Milpitas! Well, I tried out working as a Cashier, but it is great to be reviewing as a local guide to guide those whom have not came here. Now, let's go with first going into the door. I enjoyed going in. It looked clean, fresh, and staff well above and beyond with cleaning the interior and being friendly. For me, it looks like an average cafe look. Now, let's go onto the food and drinks. Today, I have chosen the Fried Squid Rice Plate as well as a Fresh Lemon Tea (Less Ice, 50% Sugar, and Boba which was an additional half a dollar). First the drink, and trust me on this. I technically got my mind blown away by the drink itself. Drink did not get watered down easily because of the less ice. Compare this with how much ice A+ Hong Kong Cafe gives out for their ice cold drinks. This gives so much leeway for toppings. I wish they given out toppings there. Sweet and sour mixed together so good. It's like the sweet and sour sauce that McDonald's have, but in a drink! I WOULDN'T REGRET HAVING THIS AGAIN! I like how the 50% sugar and boba balances out its sugar content, giving the drink 100% sugar. Onto the next topic, which is the Fried Squid Rice Plate. I LOVE IT in all of its wonderfulness. The fried squid was crispy the first time you bite into it. Next is the rice and I like how it was topped with the meat. It's amazing. Additionally, there is a few huge cubes of tofu. Adding onto that is the one egg that gives enough protein than one person will need, so I do not know how it balances out on a plate full of what you already have. The vegetables is great for color. Sprinkle on the mild spice powder, and you get a kick in the palette. Wham Baam that's an awesome plate man! However, I probably would add a bit extra vegetables because it is a bit way too much protein than what you already have on the plate.
Good food for a decent price. Everything is flavorful, I really enjoyed the vegetable side dishes. The tea egg was a good side for protein and the katsu was tender. We also ordered corn and it was good but probably wouldn’t get it again. I’d stick with the set meal.
The Taiwanese chicken fillet is great as always, just the right amount of crunch on the outside and tender on the inside. Usually I really like their sweet potatoes fries with sour plum but the one we got today was a bit too thick, messing up the volume (sweet potatoes) to surface area (sour plum powder) ratio. But it wouldn't stop me from coming back again.
Reasonable prices for the gpie and milk tea. Taste was good, and reminded us of home cooked food from South East Asia. Minus 1 star because they serve everything on single-use plastics even if we ate at the restaurant. Would up to five stars when they offer sustainable biodegradable or reusable utensils and plates. Luckily G-Pies are not smelly.
The chicken chop is pretty decent, probably one of the best in the Bay Area. Decor is nice but ambience suffers from an unnecessarily bass heavy speaker system.
The fried chicken cutlet and basil popcorn chicken are popular for a reason. Breaded fried mushrooms were tasty too.
Known for their G-pie or chicken cutlet. You can get it whole or sliced into strips. Comes plain, but the have 20+ different spices you can sprinkle on to make it even tastier.

So many taiwanese street foods you can try here! They're also developing a rotisserie chicken soon! Its easy to order, but hard to collect it because they never announce the order numbers which is just odd.. Maybe invest in one of the proximity square things that vibrate when the order is ready...
Ordered the gpie combo and the chicken was awesome, however the sides weren't good at all. The wait time for one meal and tea was more than 30 minutes at 130pm, which was crazy. The jasmine milk tea was alright though.
I come here often. It's a fair price for half decent food. They undercook the fried meat by the tiniest bit. But that's personal preference, not a safety concern. The Latin server is a bit rude, but they're generally pretty accommodating.
Chicken and Tea is one of my favorite bento boxes. But today's pork belly bowl is way too fatty.

Good Taiwanese food, but used to be great. The quality has dropped while price increases. The school kids need better training in cooking and customer service, and shouldn't give food rejected by customers to the next customer.

Can't say I enjoyed the meal there. Went with a couple of people who were craving for boba tea and came here based on reviews. I couldn't smell or taste the passion fruit in my passion fruit tea with lychee jelly. Tastes like tea with lychee syrup. We also ordered a couple of dishes plus popcorn chicken. Instead of cucumbers as the side dish like it showed in the picture, we got tofu instead. The tofu tasted off so we didn't finish it. Popcorn chicken was ok. Large portion. For the price we paid, it was a disappointing stop. I think we will skip this place the next time we are in the area.
The time on Google map is wrong, they are not open between 2pm - 4pm
Stir fry basil chicken is horrible. Just ordered if for lunch. Not tasty at all. Way too much sugar in it. Veggies look like from last night. Also had a diarrhea right after lunch :(
Ordered 2 bento like food and the lady at the front made our drinks but it was all melted and badly made idk its not it. Service isn't thats good or welcoming coming from her . Food is good tho whoever cooks in the back thanks for making it good!
I rarely write reviews but this pissed me off, super greasy slightly undercooked, tasted sweet? Did not taste like chicken I threw the rest away... also not even sure what part of the chicken I was eating look at that!
