Grazie e a presto
As always, an excellent experience. Highly recommended! From the evocative location, to Chef Stefano's attention to detail, with dishes that are masterpieces, all worth trying, to the well-stocked wine cellar. Let Cristina, sommelier, advise you, and finish with desserts that are a feast for the palate.
Enchanting location, exceptional service and food. Excellent value. Cristina and Stefano are the soul of Osteria del Maniero: professional, kind, and courteous. Keep up the good work. Thanks again.
A wonderful family-run location to say the least; refined and attentive cuisine; we had dinner during the gorgonzola event, delicious and well presented dishes; the owner Chef Stefano often came to the table and we appreciated this very much, but I must give special praise to the dessert, carefully prepared by Cristina Sommelier and owner; Congratulations to everyone, I highly recommend this location
The quality of the food is excellent, and the portions are great (not oversized, not even those tiny portions you find at big restaurants that leave you hungry). The place is beautiful, welcoming, and quiet. The staff is top-notch. What more can I say? Oh, and yes, I even got married here!
We went for lunch today, April 25, 2024. The location was beautiful; it reminded me of the villa where I got married (so it brought back fond memories). The owners were very welcoming and the location was well-maintained. We ate with our 2-year-old son, including an appetizer, three first courses, a second course, and two desserts. The value for money was truly excellent. I highly recommend the risotto and the donkey dish!! The cuisine demonstrates a commitment to local produce and simple yet impeccably prepared ingredients.
This week, Watson and I are tackling a cold case: the Da Barone trattoria in Alzate di Momo has moved to Agnellengo and become the "Osteria del Maniero," but Stefano (the chef) and Cristina (the sommelier) haven't changed; however, the location has changed, having found new and more suitable spaces in the Agnellengo Maniero since March/April, which had previously served as a restaurant, bar, and other facilities. Therefore, further investigation was necessary! Closed on Tuesdays, open only at noon on Mondays and Wednesdays, and at noon and in the evening by reservation on other days, the Maniero is still a work in progress, but what is already accessible (certain parts of the complex are still under construction) deserves attention: forget the cramped spaces and rustic tables of the past; the small rooms for small groups are now welcoming and elegant, while vestiges of the past peek out from the very recent renovation, still underway in some areas. Cristina's friendly yet professional welcome (especially in her area of expertise, wine) and Stefano's mastery in the kitchen haven't changed. They could certainly use a little extra help, especially between the tables, but the staff isn't easy to find, so if you're interested, come forward! On an unusual Saturday evening due to the Champions League final, we each order a caponet, a cabbage roll with pork, sausage, bread, egg, and arrabbiata sauce. For our first course, we opt for farro tagliatelle with orange, chili, and olive oil-flavored duck ragù. We finish with oxtail stew and a carrot dessert with yogurt and berries. We pair our dinner with Lauretta mineral water and a bottle of Verduno Pelaverga from San Biagio. Everything is good, simple, and authentic, so digestion is easy. With two complimentary welcome flutes on the house, we spend €132 for two, which becomes €130. Considering that the wine cost us €25 (the correct price) per person, we paid just over €50. It's worth trying, and then judge for yourself...
We visited this restaurant thanks to a voucher from Altroconsumo. It's a shame it's so far away, because we'd definitely return again and again! We had a great time. They offer two truly satisfying tasting menus, with portions that are just right for savoring every dish, from appetizer to dessert, and leaving feeling full. Excellent ingredients and interesting pairings, while still maintaining tradition. Highly recommended.
Old charming place
Situato in un castello, molto caratteristico e interessante. Cucina buonissima con ingredienti di qualità,personale Super gentile.bagno pulitissimo.la proprietaria è una vera chicca molto alla mano ironica simpatica e preparata.
I was greeted directly by the chef and sommelier with a welcome drink, and during our brief conversation, I immediately felt at ease and realized I had chosen a restaurant that deeply understands ingredients. The restaurant is a manor (castle) meticulously renovated, preserving the best original features. The staff is friendly and on-the-job. The meat dishes for my son and the fish dishes for me, with perfect pairings suggested by the sommelier, have a perfect balance that recalls Ferran Adrià's meticulous study of pairings without ever being cloying, like Alfredo Russo's hand; that enveloping smoothness and explosion of flavor. I recommend all diners to choose their appetizer, first course, second course, cheeses, and/or dessert according to their personal tastes; you'll leave pleasantly satisfied. I gave myself a wonderful birthday present in the company of my son. I don't want to say anything about the dishes; it's nice to be amazed.
An interesting restaurant from every perspective, especially between April and September for outdoor dinners, weddings, baptisms, and confirmations. A huge dining room for 140-160 people, a large garden in a fabulous medieval castle setting, and lunches and dinners in two very welcoming rooms. Ample parking. The directions, however, are a challenge. Cristina, a very friendly restaurant employee, was welcoming, always smiling, and extremely accommodating to customer requests. We ate quite well, although the main course, veal with tuna sauce, was a bit salty. The wine cellar is excellent. And to finish, a very intriguing dessert that you absolutely must try. In short, a good, relaxing lunch....on a chilly Sunday in November... See you next time!!!
The culinary experience was a rollercoaster. It seems the chef attempted a risky experiment, blending flavors like a mad scientist. We had ramen tasted so chaotic. Risotto was slightly ok. they kept serving chocolate throughout the meal, as if trying to sweeten the bitter reality of the culinary journey. The outcome was a mess of confusion on the plate. And oh, the prices! They were reaching for the stars, but sadly, the taste didn't quite make it there. Service was great! Christiana you're amazing. Love this place by the way.
I returned with my wife remembering a previous lunch that I had enjoyed the typical Piedmontese dish (paniscia) this time the appetizer was pleasant, the paniscia not adequate. I think I will have to look for a new restaurant that is more attentive to this specialty. Today 5/2/024 I passed by chance again from Agnellengo remembering the previous not entirely positive in this tavern I wanted to stop and try the midday lunch again I was welcomed by a very kind gentleman new owner since April last year, Compared to the previous management you can notice a total change in quality my wife chose a truly excellent fixed price menu, I opted for a paniscia (excellent) and a medallion of meat worthy of praise to all this a good wine in bulk water and two coffees in a very characteristic renovated environment. The service in the room managed by nice and smiling young people. I think we will return soon
It was my first time at this restaurant, and it was also my last. Aside from the food, which I found truly subpar, the worst thing was the service. The lady who served my table, whom I was seeing for the first time, addressed me informally and called me "young girl" (I'm 66). I was scolded for not finishing my portion. I've never seen such an attitude in a canteen.
