The Point Bar & Grill is a popular spot in Montauk with tasty food and great service. Customers rave about the Cajun calamari and creamy seafood pasta. Some find the food bland or the lobster roll disappointing, but the friendly staff and lively atmosphere are consistently praised.

Good food, nice place, and friendly service. Great spot to chill in Montauk .
The Point Bar and Grill is an American sports bar with a relaxed, casual dining/bar atmosphere. They advertise as the best party in town on the weekends... and rightfully so. This place was so much fun. Great appetizers. Lovely bartenders and waitstaff. Convenient location and walking distance from the beach. Would highly recommend if you're looking for a fun and relaxed place to drink and dine in Montauk!!
All the food ordered by each person said it was absolutely delicious. I loved my Lobster Roll. The staff was excellent at trying to seat us but also not to rush anyone out the door. So glad they are still open and staying busy! First timer at this place and in Montauk in general. Great experience.
We were visiting from south jersey, first timers. For our appetizer we ordered the cheeseburger sliders, delicious. I enjoyed the creamy seafood pasta, the portions are generous. My boyfriend ordered the marinated skirt steak, it was “ok” as it was overly blackened to his taste but no complaints. Service was good!
Good food and they stay open late. Waitress were super cool and beers were just as cool. Only place open after a day of casting lures and I was hungry. The place hit the spot. I will definitely stop by again and want to thank the staff for accommodating us. Recommendations is the burgers. Filled me up in no time plus the mozzarella sticks. A+ in my book and I'm from Redhook Brooklyn. My go to spot from now on A++++ 🔥 @ig Brooklyn_surf_pier_fishin
Loved this place.. Friendly barmaid and locals are friendly too. We had fish that was delicious. Fresh and cooked right Highly recommended
This is a great place. We got there right when it opened and thank goodness because it was full (social distancing of course) when we sat down. The staff was very warm and friendly and the place was nice. They had the TV on and there was a bar you could sit at. We sat in a booth, however. The food was good and there is parking (free) right in front or across the street. I would definitely recommend this place 👌
LOCALS ONLY! Awesome place to grab a bite and catch the game before or after fishing a tide. They are always busy especially during football/baseball/hockey season. Food is goood. Wings and buff cauliflower are two of my favorites. One of the few places we frequent when were in town
We've been here many times and every time it gets better and better and better we had the most delicious steak tidbits and the most scrumptious shrimp dinner ever!!!! The cocktails were unbelievable too this is a must for us every time we go out to Montauk I highly recommend it, the service was outstanding
Loved the environment, it wasn't anything crazy like some other spots. You could still have a conversation with someone without yelling at the top of your lungs. Food was fantastic, I highly recommend the steak tid bits. Everything was priced right and the employees were friendly/helpful.
We ate at a table outside. The chicken blt wrap was amazing. Tots were on point! Sliders were good, potato skins were good too. I loved my dinner here. Thank you!
Very friendly people and staff. Haberdashery atmosphere very cozy.
Awesome food. Awesome staff. Great place for locals to hang out
Kristi is a gem and this place is the go-to for 1. Amazing service 2. Amazing food and tied for 2 Amazing vibe. Shout out to the blackened scallops, any burger, the wings and Calamari, all award winning and Mike for his key lime pie. All in all a great place to catch a game and a good bite and service with a smile. Will be back ASAP 🫡
Finding a restaurant open on the east end is a bit tough on a Tuesday night. We have walked past this restaurant for many years without going in. Last night it was one of the few choices available and we were lucky it was. We were very happy we went in and we will definitely be back. The food was great and there was a very friendly atmosphere. We had seafood marinara with calamari, mussels & shrimp and creamy seafood with lobster, shrimp & scallops. Both were great!
Great service from Liz, and excellent food. Love the Philly Cheese.
Excellent food and service! Server did pay a lot of attention and drinks came floating our way. Had Philly steak which was great. My wife did have Caesar Salat which was also delicious for vegetarian. Place was clean and all staff was very friendly. Will come again. Tons of drinks: party of 4 each about 3-4 drinks and main course around $220 which is great.
We walked into this place by chance as it was a rainy day and the town was really busy. Food was fantastic. The fish tacos were some of the best we’ve had. Service was excellent, but definitely recommend.
Local sports bar/pub that serves a good selection of beers on tap as well as a full menu. The servers here work very hard and do a great job. The owner is a cool guy. We recently went with a group of 9 and had a great meal. Everything from the apps-great wings- to the burger and grilled cheese w chicken were excellent. If you are looking for that casual burger and beer-this is it.
Suuuuuuuch a fun little dive bar!!!! Me and my boyfriend had a blast here a few weeks ago. We danced the night away and had a few drinks. The drinks were pricey but worth the fun night. I honestly would go again!
It's a nice spot and the burgers are good. At first, they didn't fry my egg hard, but it was fixed right away. Our server was friendly and quick. I would definitely go again if I'm in MTK again.
Cute bar but the food was amazing. Had the Cajun burger and it was cooked exactly how I asked and everything was delicious. Fries also cooked perfectly. Our waitress was attentive and polite and overall a restaurant I will definitely be back to
Had a blast, Cheers to Liz 🐐 our awesome bartender!
A great place for food and drink. Fabulous menu with fun staff
Starting off the 2024 Montauk season with good eats, friendly staff and a relaxed unpretentious vibe. That’s The Point Bar & Grill. Don’t go if you’re looking for a “Manhattan goes to Montauk” place. This is a “Montauk, has always been here and still is, Montauk” place. Rare these days. Go enjoy and support this local gem. Great burgers, something for everyone on the menu, fair prices, and a genuine hello and thanks for coming at the door. See photo of one of my personal favorites … Blackened Tuna with veggies, hold the potato and substitute a salad. 👍
Food is excellent. Service is wonderful. Patrons are friendly. It's our go to place when we visit Montauk. Highly recommended.
Bar food at its finest. Quick fast service from wait staff, and food came out quick too. Cajun calamari was tasty with the dipping sauce being great and a twist with the peppers and onions. The steakhouse burger was Smokey and tasty, but a tad dry. The seafood pasta was a large portion size and came with a great helping of seafood like lobster, shrimp and a tasty white fish.
Great service, food, drinks and atmosphere. Place is packed. Awesome sports bar as well. We are here to watch the Knicks Pacers game 1 and we are so glad we came here. Highly recommend!
We were greeted at the door with WARMTH & a SMILE.. Maria, our server had a smile & demeanor that would make customers return.. The food also was quick, fresh & hot, but most important TASTY.. My wife & I were here in April 2023 & gave 4 stars, because of our server Maria, we agreed on 5 Stars.. Although Maria was not our server in April, Maria made us feel like we were regulars (November 2023)
What a local gem! Okay, it was noisy. it’s a bar style atmosphere, so this isn’t a knock against the place. I have to mention the service. Wow, fast and reliable doesn’t go far enough. The kitchen forgot my bacon. Not a problem, no delay, just quick recovery. This is how mistakes are flipped and guest satisfaction is assured! I had the Point Burger. Cooked to what I asked for, and was tasty. My partner had the wings, and he enjoyed them. We had the potato skins as an appetizer. Again, cooked well. For what The Point is, a local hole in the wall, this place excels! If you find yourself in Montauk, drop by! You too might be pleasantly surprised.
Popped in to have a Bloody Mary and got the avocado tacos and buffalo cauliflower bites. Both were delicious and the Bloody Mary was tasty too. The server behind the bar was really sweet and friendly. Really enjoyed the layout and atmosphere. Was there during the day but it probably looks really nice lit up with all the wood finishing at night. Will definitely be back next time we’re in Montauk!
This is a great spot to kick back and enjoy a few beers. The burger and fries are solid and definitely worth trying. However, the other dishes we ordered were pretty average. The clams casino were underwhelming, the mussels lacked flavor, and the shrimp cocktail and scallops didn’t leave much of an impression either. That said, the service was excellent—friendly and attentive, which added to the overall experience. If you stick to the burgers and the beer, you’ll have a good time here.
I came here on a Sunday afternoon with a few friends. We ordered mussels and fried calamari for appetizers, both tasted very good. The portion of the mussel appetizer was much bigger than we thought which was a nice surprise. For main dishes, I ordered fish and chips for myself. I would say the portion was decent and I was able to finish the entire plate by myself. The waiters were nice and welcoming. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here and would recommend this place to others who are planning on coming by to Montauk lighthouse area.
We grabbed some easy dinner here after visiting the lighthouse few miles away. The sandwiches and burgers were pretty cheap and the taste was definitely worth it. the creamy seafood pasta had muscles, prawns, and lobsters in it and tasted fabulous. The burger wasn’t too good, but considering the price and portion, it’s definitely worth it. A good place to stop by and get some easy meal.
Opening day for football season. I was trying to get a seat at the bar, shame on me for coming late. The place was packed! They found me a table fairly quickly and had a great view of the game. Service was alightly slow but well within expectations with the number of people there. I had the Mussels Marinara, Shrimp Crab, and Scallop Sliders and Curly fries. All were excellent. Medium choice of beers. Great atmosphere and will definitely come again when in the area.
This place goes from restaurant to night club quickly after 10 PM. Food stops being served by about that time, probably a bit earlier. It gets very crowded on a Saturday night by midnight. Good place to grab a drink and dance to a DJ playing a variety of music. Music is a bit inconsistent, but if you're cool with that, it's quite fun!
Amazing food and great drink selection. Iv been here many times. Only negative thing I had experienced this time was me and my family ordered they brought the food out and they got my meal wrong and just grabbed the plate without even asking if we wanted it anyway and didn't apologise. By the time my lobster roll finally came out my family was already done eating. But the lobster roll was delicious.
Good food at a reasonable price. Servers were friendly, good at getting the order correct (without writing it down). It is pretty loud if you go on a Sunday when football is on. Good sized parking lot, interior is a touch dingy, but it's a Montauk sports bar.
We went for lunch at 1:00. Food was great! Becky, our server, was on her own waiting tables and working the bar. She did an amazing job!! Even so, she couldn’t get to everyone and we saw probably 20 people leave. I didn’t mind the owner losing business, but I really feel bad that she lost tips because she was stuck alone. Poor management, great food and amazing service
great bar for watching sports - good vibes
Food was good. Service was good. Atmosphere was typical loud sports bar.
Went with a large group of 10 . Service was fast but not at a speed that says you need to leave. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Food was good and cooked as ordered. Had the Point Burger with cheese, ordered Med Rare. Came out as ordered, very juicy. Also had the calameri, don't think it was fresh cut but very tender. Hot wings had a nice flavor and good heat. Children in our group was very happy with the meals (Fidh and chips, chicken tenders)Local beer (Montauk Brewing, company right down the block if you would like to stop in) on tap.
Wasn't sure what to expect as exterior doesn't look like much but was pleasantly surprised! Inside is a roomy restaurant with a large bar and additional tables in bar area to sit at. We sat at the bar, had drinks (several decent beers on tap) and lunch. Salad was fresh and crisp, bison burger was very good and perfectly prepared. Service from bartender was also great. Definitely will eat here again next visit to Montauk.
Good food, they seemed a little short staffed though and didn't seem to have a host. We were there for 10 minutes next to their "wait to be seated" and no one ever came up to us. We left for a few minutes came back and found an employee and told her we wanted to be seated. Then we were finally sat. After we were sat though everything was fine.
Food is really good. Atmosphere is very nice. My sister has a gluten problem and they had no options other than salad
Had a really nice time when i visited for the first time. Really cool atmosphere that went above and beyond celebrating the Halloween season. Didn’t have much food, but the drinks are great, and I’d be lying if I said the nachos were anything other than fantastic. The staff in general were really great, and especially kind when I made some more odd requests. Stop by if you’re in the area and want a drink or some grub, definitely coming back the next time I’m in the area.
We are in Montauk for the weekend, and decided to stay one more day because it was so nice. It’s SUNDAY FUNDAY, had to find a bar to watch the game. We asked around and everyone said the point. Well, it turns out, they were right. The best entertainment from the locals screaming and shouting by the bar, at least 3 different football games on every tv, and we even got to watch our favorite team because The Mets were playing the Phillies!!! We had great service and we will definitely be back
Food is tasty. My blackened scallops were tasty but came out almost cold. But they were soft and well cooked. My stuffed burger stuffed me. And the mussels were a delight.
We REALLY enjoyed this meal! We were tired and hungry from touring around the island all day, so I could've probably been happy eating the South end of a North bound mule... but the food presentation was lovely and it tasted great. I do think $14 for 4 little shrimps was excessive, though. The Montauk Brewery Lager definitely hit the spot!
Not many great choices in the main town area for food. The drinks and food are typical for a bar/restaurant establishment. Service was very good.
First time trying this place....very simple menu...american food...my husband and I ordered the potato skinny for appetizers ( very basic potato skins)Entree ihad a turkey burger..made very well. My husband at the shrimp tacos, which he enjoyed alot. If you are looking very simple laid back place then I would highly recommend this restaurant. If you are looking for more of an elaborate menu with a nice view, this may not be your place. Restaurant was clean, staff very nice.
We’ve been coming here over 10 years and food has been consistently good! Burgers are awesome and many other items are good too. We had lobster roll, catch of the day, wings, salad and many others and they are all well seasoned and cooked. Fast service and friendly staff. We had seafood poboy and usual NY strip with mashed potatoes and corns. It’s hard to get reservation in the summer but they usually have available seats outdoor. Diet Coke was flat but otherwise it was a good quick dinner.
The beer is good. The cocktails are not that good. The food is well prepared and quite tasty. Very tasty dessert. The service is nice. The tables are sticky and are difficult to wipe down. Convenient parking. Prices are moderate, but not low. The impressions after the visit are mixed. We stopped by only because we were hungry and it was an establishment that was working... You can eat, enjoy the food and the atmosphere - it’s unlikely...
Really liked the food and the ambience here. They have a large selection of menu items to choose from. We tried their Cajun calamari (super quality and flavor), steamed mussels (my first time and I liked it), hot chilli soup (tasty), fish tacos (tasty, but not the best, the fish could be more flavorful), catch of the day (got cod, the prep was decent in taste, lacked flavor), molten chocolate lava cake (good portion and taste). Cool vibe with all the screens, good service.
Quiet but open during off season. Awesome. Very friendly server. Plenty of brews. Great selection of house cocktails. I was surprised by that. Pleasantly surprised. The lady has the crab cakes. Probably not fresh crab but seasoned decently. We shared fried pickles and they were golden. I had steak tidbits and they were nicely charred. Came with a nice small salad with a white sauce. Recommended
Only sports bar in town. That’ shows all MLB and NFL games. Service was a little slow and the crowd is mainly locals. Had the burger and fries and the Montauk draft beer. Overall a good place to catch a game.
Good Food, Good Service... But BEWARE the prices on the GOOGLE menu are different from the prices on the physical menu and on their actual website. While my wife and I were outside sitting on a public bench awaiting to be seated we looked through the online menu Android via google so as to save time by knowing what we want in advance. We did not need to look through the physical menu. When we received the bill I reviewed it and found the differences in the prices; roughly 20%. I went looking for a manager and the young lady told me there was no manager on duty. I explained the situation to her and she told me they do not post the Google menu and that they gave us a physical menu. I asked her to call the manager. after a little bit more of my polite insistence she gave me a small percentage of the bill back. I attached the part of the appetizer menu so you can compare. I asked her if i was the only one to approach her with this issue and she indicated it wasnt the 1st time. I did not detect that from her initial response to me as she was exasperated. She explained that they have to have Google resolve the issue. Food /drinks /service (Heidy) was good.
This is one of the higly rated places to visit. We sat at the bar as the place was full. The person serving us might have been having a bad day coz she seemed not to the least interested and/or happy about the job. If I ignore that, the food was good. I liked the seafood pasta. The baked clams weren't as good as the others we had in the area.overall a good place to hang out and eat.
Food, as well as, the service was just ok. Not busy but waitress did not ask us for drink refills when she came to our table. Fish tacos were delicious, however my fried calamari could have been cooked a little longer. I think since it wasn't busy the cook and waitress should be on their "A" game.
Don’t know if we were here on a bad night or what but the food was not good. The calamari were soft and undercooked and the French fries were also soggy and undercooked . Steak sandwich was below average.. Lobster ravioli was a small portion and was over cooked came with no sides or bread. There also was an added charge applied for using a credit card which was not mentioned by the server
Not impressed. Won't eat here again. Food took 30 minutes to come out when there was my family and 3 other families. Non of the sandwiches has the sauces they were supposed to come with. Bacon was forgotten on my sons burger (Watress said "oh did you want bacon, I said yes he did" and she never came back with the bacon) the other manager was picking her nose then ate it behind the bar. That pushed me over the edge, thankfully it was after I got our food but I stopped eating. Was not checked on even once through my whole stay. No drinks were ever refilled through my stay. Never again. Do not recommend.
Disappointing. A few people recommended this restaurant to me, and I was looking forwards to trying their food. They were out of the Philly cheesesteak, so I ordered a steak sandwich and asked for the steak sliced thin. The steak was certainly not sliced thin. The steak was also burnt on the outside and quite rare in the center -- I ordered it medium. The garlic bread baguette was also very burnt, to the point of being black on the outside edges and a bit on the inside. Still edible, not great. I do have to add however, that their french fries were quite good. Thinner cut and quite crispy. I had also ordered a Manhattan with only one or two ice cubed, and I received an old fashioned loaded with ice. I would not have been so annoyed by this... but it is a 15 dollar drink, so I would expect it to be correct. The waitress did not introduce herself, and I could barely understand a word she said. Before I left, I asked if they were under new ownership, and they are not.
Place has no vibe on a football Saturday. Calamari was soggy and expensive lobster quesadilla was paltry with barely any lobster in it. Unhelpful bartender topped it off.
Appetizers came out suspiciously quick. Food was subpar and looked like a joke. Service was excruciatingly slow. Been here twice—good to watch a game (incredible TV set-up), but bad if you’re expecting quality food and service.
Terrible service, terrible food. This was our only chance to get dinner here and expected something a lot better, given the prices and reputation of this area. All of our meals were somehow wrong, terrible tasting, or completely inedible. They don't offer free refills, even for water, and our waitress walked off before we could ask to pay for more. Our waitress was rude, barely spoke English, and frankly didn't want to be there. She didn't serve us our food, she didn't come to check on us. We were finished eating for almost 20 minutes before she came anywhere near us so we could call her over for our check. Another lady came over, didn't address who she was, and stated that our waitress is busy and not to be condescending when we asked if they offer refills on water. Worst service ever. Obviously gave them no tip at all.
Order the bake clams. Horrible! Clam were chewy more onions then Clams. Order blue cheese burger it’s a wishbone, salad dressing burger horrible. And then when I got to check, looked up, sitting in the bar at a high top table the fan above the table had 3 inches of dust on it. Disgusting last time. I’ll go there. Do not recommend this place.
On a recent stay in Montauk went to this place because it was late and everything else was closing and they said their kitchen was open late. Turns out thst after 10:00 p.m. they go to a limited menu 5 or 6 items. Frozen tasteles overcooked disgusting versions of burgers wings and chicken fingers did I mention disgusting and to top it off we had the worst mojitos of my life for a place that is primarily a bar-5 Stars avoid avoid avoid
First time commenting, unfortunately had a very bad experience dining at the Point. I ordered a burger at this place and unfortunately there was a hair strand on my fries and when I informed the server she took back the food and brought new set of fries, yet again I found an eyelash on the fries. The overall dining experience was ruined and when informed the staff again they were negligent and at one point one proceeded to laugh, roll her eyes and her body language was outright rude and not nice albeit not directly to us but she proceeded to complain to other staff next to our table. My friend's burger was burnt and tasted bad. We will never be going back to this place again. Please pay attention to your kitchen sanitation and the overall behavior of the staff. Extremely disappointed.
Went here after visiting Montauk Point. We came in and washed our hands after being seated and the restrooms were filthy. (Feces on the toilet seat, trash on the floor, dirty mirror and sink) We ordered drinks and when they came they were full of ants (refer to picture) When we notified our hostess, and asked her to cancel our order she was short with us and abruptly took the drink away to remake it instead of listening to our request. We tried to get the attention of another hostess nearby to ask to pay for the drinks and leave and she responded with "I'm not your waitress." We had high expectations for this restraunt, but with the service, the atmosphere and the bugs we were very disappointed.
We had high expectations walking in here from the menu online. We walked in and they gave us dirty plates then we ordered our appetizers and they came out so quick it was a red flag literally in 3 minutes. Then we got our apps and they looked like this. The sauce was just splattered on the wings and the nachos look NOTHING like the nachos pictured on the menu online. The “ground beef” looked like dog food. But the waitress was very nice.
