The original 🥞 is really good and is what we are expecting exactly. It tastes even better than some of the chain stores we visited in Japan. The souffle is soft and fluffy with not much flour or egg smell which some of the pancake shop has. The cream sweetness and texture is nearly perfect and the salt butter is well mingled with the pancake itself. The curry tonkatsu is okay but with only $16, I think it is great value. Will definitely come back for the souffle and other dishes since it tastes good and won't break the bank. Highly recommend!
Food not only looks great but tastes amazing. Their curry sauce is full of so much flavor definitely would recommned the wagyu beef curry. Must try their chicken karage as appetizer. For dessert can't forget their delicious pancakes we have tried chocolate and mango both are great for sure depending on your prefernce of fruity or chocolatey!!
Very chill and welcoming service. Sweets are not too sweet, and the savory items are delicious and worth the wait. Servers are super friendly in chatting and offering recommendations at for menu items for those unfamiliar with the types of pancakes. Will definitely be coming back :)
Couple of notes: first, the server will tell you pancakes take 30 minutes to prepare. Next, they keep it warm in there. The thermostat was set to 84°. As warm as it was outside the day we went, the breeze that came in every time the door was opened was welcomed. Those things aside, the food was delicious. We started with the veggie kakiage so we wouldn't be hungry. It was well-fried, not greasy and delicious. We then ordered a chicken kara-age curry and unagi don. Both were delicious. The cheese on the curry surprised me. Wasn't a fan of it and would ask if they could omit it next time I visit. Would definitely prefer both again as they were well cooked, seasoned and were great portions. The pancakes were delicious and fluffy. Looking forward to returning to try other flavors and maybe an ube latte. Staff was friendly and attentive.
The food was AMAZING. my husband and I just came back from japan and the souffles especially taste just like the ones from japan. all the employees were very helpful and considerate. Alvin gave us really good recommendations from the menu and was very kind. would recommend coming here! we came here back to back for our weekend trip in LA!
Food was amazing the flavors were perfection in every bite! The prices made it very enjoyable. The service was very kind and family feeling. Definitely coming back again and bringing more friends n family again. Highly recommended.
BETTER THAN TAKAGI in LA! I was just looking for a cafe that had soufflé pancakes but little did I know that I stumbled upon this gem! The original cafe is in Osaka and they opened up 2 stores in the states. 1 in SF and recently this location. I ordered the chilli, honeycomb latte, tonkatsu curry, and the hazelnut soufflé pancakes. I'm obsessed with the recent food addition which is their chilli pancakes. I thought it would be like Hawaii zippy chill but it was even better than expected! The curry reminded me of curry from an anime because of the veggies mixed into it. I spoke to a worker and they said they simmer the curry overnight which holds the flavor. Lastly, the hazelnut soufflé pancakes were so fluffy and way better than takagi pancakes! I'm a BIG chocolate lover so the flavor of the hazelnut sauce really stood out to me and I loved that they added cocoa pebbles for a slight crunch. Overall, I would give this place a 10/10!
Love this place. Can’t wait to go back! The soufflé pancakes and French toast are so yummy and delicious. I felt like I was in Japan. Also they use SightGlass coffee bean. Thanks so much for your hospitality. 🌸🌸
I was here on a Sunday afternoon, and we waited around 70 minutes for a party of two. The waitlist was through Yelp, so we could see our place in line at all times on the Yelp app. Parking: free underground parking structure for Atlantic Times Square. There's a few free spots on the street, but chances are they are taken up by customers of Hey Tea too. Apple Pay/credit card accepted. Take out orders for drinks may be placed at the bar counter. There is a menu on the wall for convenience. Food: -strawberry pancake $15 - This really took 30 minutes, so we were done with the food food by the time it was served. The pancake was so soft and fluffy. The cream was so good. The strawberries were tart. I would get this again! Too bad it only comes with two pancakes. I could eat more! -cheesy gyudon $16 - This was like a beef bowl with egg and cheese on top. There was so much rice, but it was tasty. -seafood curry $20 - This came with two pieces each of shrimp tempura, fish tempura, and fried oyster. The curry was good! There's a tad spice to it. -chicken karaage appetizer - This actually was a good portion. The fried chicken was so good. -matcha strawberry dalgona $6 - This drink was so good. It took a while to mix, but I would definitely come back for this. I even got another one to take home! Service: 11/10. Everyone is so friendly and all smiles! They were so patient and nice.
Stopped by Gram Cafe & Pancakes in Monterey Park for brunch and overall it was a solid experience. The place is known for their Japanese soufflé pancakes, but they also have a pretty extensive menu with both sweet and savory options, so it doesn’t feel like you’re limited to just dessert. We ordered the Original Soufflé Pancakes, Strawberry Soufflé Pancakes, Egg Benedict Pancakes, plus the Honeycomb Latte and Hojicha Latte. My favorite by far was the original soufflé pancakes — super light and fluffy, and not overly sweet, which I liked. The strawberry version was good too, just a bit richer. The egg benedict pancakes were actually better than expected and worked well as a savory option. The honeycomb latte and hojicha latte were both solid and paired nicely with the food. Service was fine and the space felt relaxed. Overall, it’s a great spot if you’re in the area and want a laid-back brunch, especially if you’re curious about the soufflé pancakes but still want other options on the menu.
What a great hidden gem. We stayed at the Marriott across the street and wanted some breakfast. We came on a Saturday around 1pm and they still had a few tables available but we could tell that it gets busy. We highly recommend! I had the Pancake Benedict.
lovely brunch spot famous for their souffle pancakes. came at around 2:30pm on Easter Sunday but they were still able to seat us within 10 minutes! really delicious food - we ordered eggs benedict pancakes, cheesy gyudon, and the original flavor souffle pancakes. for drinks we ordered a mocha and a yogurt cream soda. shout out to Bryan and all staff who were very kind and fast with service even though it was such a busy day.
I don't know how to start lol This place was so welcoming. As soon as you walk in they greet you so politely. The service was 10/10 so professional and attentive. I ordered the original pancakes I believe that's what they are called if not I do apologize. They were so delicious I can't describe how delicious they were lol I left my plate empty. I also had their Ube latte (hot) and the dirty Ube latte (iced) both were so amazing! 10/10! If I coulo give them more stars I would!
Gram is my to go girls outing spot in SGV. The pancakes are really so soft- my personal favourites being the mango pomelo and the strawberry soufflés. The curry is also always really good and overall, I’ve never been disappointed coming here!
We were able to get on the waitlist and dine within 45 minutes on a Saturday around lunch time. The servers were very attentive and the cafe had a nice vibe. Food was also really good. The vegetable kakiage was tasty as an appetizer, I preferred the chicken karaage curry more than the tonkatsu curry, and my favorite part of the meal was hands down the original pancakes. The pancakes were cooked to absolute perfection and probably the best Japanese fluffy pancakes I’ve ever tasted. I’d definitely come back for them!
First time trying their specialty pancakes. So delicious! We had potatoes and bacon as well. The honey comb latte was also so good. We’ll be back! 5 stars indeed.

Had a very lovely time on a date with my hubby. We have been talking about trying the famous Japanese Soufflé Pancakes forever now and they did not disappoint! They are worth the wait! Very fluffy and cloud like. The atmosphere is very cozy, cute and clean. The service is very relaxed and gives you plenty of time to enjoy, not fast paced but in a good way. Everyone was very friendly and u never had to ask to refill my water, they were on it. Highly recommend
Wait was minimal on a busy Sunday brunch by joining waitlist in advance. Food was visually appealing and came out without a long wait, however the curry was not hot and so we asked for it to be reheated. The soufflé pancakes were good, would be nice if the butter was not a hard cold chunk, though. Would skip the eggs benedict and stick to some of the more Japanese dishes. InKind worked just fine.
Souffle pancakes were good but not out of this world. Thankfully they had a batch ready after we ordered so we didn't have to wait 30 min for them as advertised. Cheese gyudon was good but a bit light on the beef - too much cheese and rice, and the egg could have been more runny. They had wifi and it wasn't too busy on Thursday morning so I could work a bit.
Seafood curry was delicious! Recommend that as well as chicken karaage. Soufflé pancakes were good

This is an interesting chain! The "pancakes" are really souffle's, but nice and fluffy and full of flavor! Plus, the apple curry sauce has the best of both flavors! Definitely to have over soaking up in rice, and over that pork cutlet with the crispy panko crust! Oh YEAH! Definitely coming back here again!
I've been here a few times, and the experience is different every time. Sometimes it's great—but this visit was disappointing. I came right before the brunch rush, yet the wait time for food was unacceptable. My friend and I ordered lattes, a side of potatoes, an appetizer, and the savory French toast. While our lattes and appetizer came out quickly, our main dishes took nearly 30–40 minutes to arrive, even after we checked in about them. My friend was extremely hungry and started feeling dizzy because the wait between items was so long. The whole experience felt disorganized. There seemed to be plenty of staff, yet communication and coordination were lacking. Upon being seated, a waiter tried to serve us a drink we never ordered. The first server we asked about our food couldn’t tell us how much longer it would take, and the exact dish my friend ordered was brought to another table that arrived after us. To top it off, when we checked our receipt, we saw that the side of potatoes—requested to be served immediately—didn’t arrive until about 30–40 minutes later. This used to be one of my go-to brunch spots, but the inconsistency and lack of organization this time made the experience really disappointing.
