This was a hidden gem on our stay in Monterey. The burger, beer and service were all outstanding. This pub is eclectic with military tributes and ancient sports memorabilia. The atmosphere was friendly and warm. We got some great advice on sights to check out. I highly recommend a visit here! The only thing that could make it better is if it were in my home town in Colorado. Will definitely be back!

The food was delicious, and Amanda was literally taking care of the entire restaurant, including the bar! There were at least 25 customers (~ 4 of them children). She was friendly, checked in on everyone, answered our questions, and just overall, she was fantastic. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with jalapeños and avocado and my mother ordered the Philly cheesesteak with onion rings. The food was hot and tasty. I would recommend.

Great sandwiches with a cool military vibe. It’s right next to the Presidio of Monterey. It was our second time here. Great place to watch a game if that’s what you want to do.

This is an absolute must for a good fix for yummy delicious comfort food - HUGE sandwiches that are scrumptious and if you need a good mom or grandma fix, Debbie will fit that bill and take great care of you. Beside the menu holding so many choices to choose from, it also contains plenty of quirky fun information to make you laugh. Sitting next the the lovely ornate and historical gate of the DLI 'Defense Language Institute' for all Military- this is the perfect place to come for fabulous food and plentiful drinks. So glad that my husband found such a gem!!

Not fancy at all. And it shouldn’t be. Absolutely authentic spot with very tasty food, nice selection of beers and (luckily) that’s not a tourist spot. I’d say it’s really hard to find a place like that in the area. JJ Burger was outstanding. We also had other meals and all of them were tasty. Thank u, guys!

Me and my son had found this little gem on google chrome…and right on time too-we were so hungry we almost started gnawing on the table. It took a bit for the food, but to be fair I think like a party of 10 people came in and had just gotten their orders taken right before we did. But we told our server that we were super hungry and so she made sure to send in some cheese sticks with a please hurry on them and they came back really fast and they were super good🤤🤤🤤not too long after that we got our food-which was awesomely great as well!!! Our server was nice the atmosphere was awesome and friendly I like the fact that it was family friendly and I could take my eight-year-old there…overall a great place!!!

What a lucky find!! Such a cool NOT touristy pub with amazing food, super sweet bartender/server and friendly locals. Food was delicious, big portions and homemade. Beer was cold and they had pitcher deals. Beautiful patio and peek-a-boo beach hills view.

I guarantee this is the best steak I've ever had in my life! We came here on Wednesday for their special offer, and the service by Amanda was truly outstanding. She was incredibly patient and attentive to every guest. Everyone in the restaurant was so friendly, and they even proactively recommended beers. The atmosphere here is harmonious and welcoming, and it really showcases the strong community bonds. The people here are genuinely kind-hearted and the community spirit is palpable!

We were coming through town and saw this place highly rated for burgers. It did not disappoint! We came in right at open and the bartender/waitress was very attentive. We immediately got our drinks and our food didn't take long either. The food was really good but perhaps even better was the $4/beer! We couldn't believe it when we saw the bill, we never see it that cheap anywhere! The inside was nicely decorated and it felt very homey! We stayed and watched the hockey game for a bit and then continued on our journey. But this place is a gem!

Duffy's is that rare neighborhood tavern that has great food and atmosphere born of decades of tradition - a treasure of the local community that I was unaware of for close to three years of living on Spaghetti Hill. Best grilled chicken sandwich. Friendly and personal service. Like going to a friend's for a meal or drink. Clean, well maintained and comfortably lit.

Went to check out the Packers game and was not disappointed. Service was great and I had a solid burger. Sweet potato fries were super tasty! Ranch was legit (ranch is very important to me 😆) as were the pickles. We had some more of the game to watch so I opted to try their cheesecake. FIRE. I might go back just for the cheesecake! No joke. Great neighborhood bar, thank you guys!!

It was fresh and light. The Turkey burger was heavenly, and so was their hamburger. The coleslaw was the best I have had—so fresh and light. The ambience is down to earth, friendly. We even hung out and played darts. The chef sat down and chatted and shared recipes, and even asked our kid riddles. The husband picked the owner brains about the area. Truly family friendly and friendly.

Yum!!! We came for the burgers and they were delicious! We tried the Fiesta and Terikayi Mushroom burgers as well as the stuffed tater tots! So yummy all around! The burgers tasted so fresh and they were huge! It's a small place but very kind people and seems like a lot of people are regulars, don't blame them at all! Yum!

The owner of the restaurant is exceptionally friendly, and our server Amanda was incredibly welcoming and warm! The ambiance of the restaurant is very charming, and we could tell that the chefs put a lot of care into preparing each dish. The taste of the food speaks volumes about the chefs' dedication to their craft. We highly recommend trying the restaurant's homemade beer, which is absolutely delightful. This place has left our family with unforgettable memories, and we will definitely come back here to enjoy more delicious food! We will always cherish the memories of this restaurant and everyone there!

This is a cute little converted house at the end of the street at the back entrance to Monterey Precedio. The food is wonderful and the staff is welcoming. If they have the green jelly tortilla soup, it is a must have absolutely delicious. If I had to ding them on something, it would be the men's room smells like urine. But, that could have been the person that was just in there before I was.

We found Duffy's via Google Maps. It had a great rating and had a kids menu, so we went. I'm so happy that we did. We were greeted with smiles and happy voices. Being so close to the Presidio, it is greatly decorated with all kinds of intriguing military decor. There are many great things on the menu. I had their Stew. It was so good. He had the Bacon and Blue. Both dishes were delicious. We will definitely be back when we are back in the area. -Regina

Kid friendliness: we received colors and paper with animals to draw, special dishes for kids. Everything perfect, good value for the money.

This bar and restaurant is a local staple that has served the local military for a long time. The burgers are great and the beers on tap pair perfectly. Perfect for a small group to grab a meal before heading into town. It is tucked away in a neighborhood near the Presidio but there is street parking available. The gate from the base is closed.

Best of all, when the bill came, it was about half of what you’d expect to pay at a comparable restaurant for the same quality of food and experience. It’s just a bit off the beaten path, which we actually loved — we were able to park right out front with no hassle. We highly recommend Duffy’s to families and to anyone who appreciates a good burger and a great beer.

Very interesting small tavern away from the tourist traffic. It is primarily a bar servicing military personnel from the adjacent post, but they do have a good selection of food . They are famous locally for their hamburgers which are quite good. But they also have chicken turkey and other sandwiches, soup and salads. Unfortunately they no longer have Bbq pulled pork which were fabulous.

Don't let the exterior fool you away. My wife relented, and we both enjoyed a nice meal away from the crouds down by the bay. Burgers, but they have a good selection of chicken and standard sandwich fare as well.

Been here once before. It's cool because it's right next to base and a strong supporter of the military. First time we went, it was a pleasant experience. The food was hot and the bartender was nice. Second time (tonight) was HORRIBLE. The food itself wasn't great but wasn't bad, but that's probably because they only had one server there doing what looked like everything but cooking, so the food wasn't too hot. Not her fault they were understaffed, so I don't blame her for that. It was probably pretty stressful to her being the only server there. However, that doesn't excuse being rude to the customers. I've worked in restaurants for five years, and even if you're having a bad night, it's never okay to take it out on the customers, ESPECIALLY when they are being nice to you (like we were). It felt like our mere presence there put her into defense mode. It felt like nearly everything we did, it seemed like she had to correct and make us feel like we were in the wrong, even though we went out of our way to be nice. That's the kicker, and sad to say, I will never go back to Duffy's again because of this experience. However, I do hope it continues to be a base favorite and that others will have a better experience than we did.
