Big Sombrero in Montgomery is hands down one of my favorite spots! Every single dish I’ve tried here has been exceptional. They are full of flavor, fresh, and clearly made with care. Whether it's the fajitas, enchiladas, flautas, or one of their specialty plates, I’ve never been disappointed. The staff truly sets this place apart. I come here so often, the waiters have become friends! They’re always welcoming, quick with a smile, and make the experience even better with their warm, attentive service. If you're looking for consistently great food and a place that feels like home, Big Sombrero is it. I can’t recommend it enough!

I came here for the first time ever and at lunch time. The place wasnt too busy so there wasnt a wait. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I let the waiter help me decide what to order and then I ended up with some beef fajita Enchiladas which was amazing! The queso and salsa was great! The sweet tea was on point! The restroom was clean. My total was $27 so not too crazy or high. Absolutely no complaints and would love to come back!

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants ever. The food and service is top notch. We love that the salsa for the chips is served warm. The lunch menu is available 7 days a week from 12 til 5pm and is a great value. We have become regular customers and I highly recommend this restaurant.

We went for dinner and didn’t have to wait for a table. Plenty of patio seating too. Nice atmosphere inside, music playing but not too loud. I had the beef fajita nachos and my wife had the chicken salad. The nachos were tasty but not a lot of meat on them. We’ll be back again. Keep up the good work Big Sombrero!

Great food. Queso was really good and came with meat on the side. Great atmosphere. I will go back for sure. This is a great Tex-Mex restaurant and I’ve been to all of them around here. The salsa was tasty, crispy chips, but it was the gravy on the enchiladas that I loved.

Heaping platters of enchiladas, tamales, classic Tex Mex fare with refried beans and rice. The chef custom made us a yummy scrambled eggs with chorizo plate when we visited.... Nice staff, super sized ice tea and lemonades. Very kid friendly and welcoming. Great decor. Big margarita menu served at breakfast!

Such a yummy place to go! Great Tex-Mex in a very friendly family atmosphere! Prices are good and service is excellent! Portions are very generous and I usually take some at least 1/3 of my meal! Great flavors and a good time!

My wife and I have lived in Montgomery for almost a year now and this is was our first time trying this place. We talked about trying it multiple times but every time we drove by it was packed and now we see why. It was great. My wife said that it's her favorite restaurant now. We will definitely be back. Even though the parking lot was almost at capacity we got a table in less than 15 minutes. My wife had the spicy tacos and said they were the best tacos she'd ever had. I had the white donkey burrito which was delicious but way more than I could eat. I definitely recommend this place. I'm looking forward to trying something else on the menu.

We really like this place, they are always busy and food is really good. Most of the servers are good here, I think only once or twice have we got less than good service. I had my first michelada here and thoroughly enjoyed it. I ordered a seafood dish the other night and did not like it and the server was right on top of that noticed I didn't like it no qualms no hesitation got me something different. That's good service. If you notice a customer is not eating something you asked if everything's okay like this guy did. I told him I did not like it and he got me something else within a few minutes. You would think that would be the norm across every restaurant because again that's how it should be, but I can't tell you how many times I've seen that not happen. I've even worked at places and seeing my coworkers not do that for their guests.. Somebody's not eating their food you ask why. If they're not hungry fine but if it's cuz I don't like it , you get them something different. Period, end of discussion.

First time trying them out. Lots of choices on the menu! I had the "Chicken Diablo" and it was tasty! I also had their large margarita on the rocks and it was yummy and only $6 ! The chips and salsa we're tasty and plentiful. Try the green salsa too it's very good. We will be coming back for more!

Our waiter was not the best. Very rude towards my boyfriend and I who were ordering drinks. My boyfriend showed his ID which shows he’s 21 and was ordering drinks. I was simply just sipping off of the margaritas to taste them and they are huge, so of course he wanted to share. The waiter gave me weird long stares from a far as if I shouldn’t be drinking or looking at the drinks menu whenever I was just helping my boyfriend pick out what to get. I am obviously of age if I have a tattoo showing and on top of that the waiter could have easily asked my age or asked for my ID if he had an issue with me sipping a drink. Instead he acted rude and said out of pocket things to my boyfriend like “are you the one who’s gonna be drinking this?” Whenever my boyfriend simply asked for another drink. Better service definitely would make this place just as great as 7 Leguas is with their staff and service.

The Big Sombrero in Montgomery is a bright, busy room that feels like it’s aiming for a full-on night out. Plenty of energy inside, and the place stays moving. My meal came out looking generous—enchiladas covered in queso with rice on the side—but the flavors didn’t do much. The queso was heavy without much character, and the rest of the plate ate soft and one-note. Service was also pretty flat: nothing terrible, just not attentive or engaged. Given the price, I kept expecting a moment that justified it, and it never showed up. Best for a loud group dinner when atmosphere matters more than the food.

We literally got ignored for an hour before we got to order appetizers and once we ordered appetizers it was another hour until we waved down the server to order our actual food. They were not busy…

I didn't take pictures because I was catching up with an old friend of mine. We went during the lunch hour. We both had the lunch jumbo margaritas. She had the lime I had the strawberry, they were good however I'm not going to lie, both were on ice. Our server however, seemed to be a magician, he came handed us our menus took our drink order, then took our food order. My friend ordered hard shell tacos with charro beans. I ordered the lunch chicken fajitas with charro beans. My friend's food I believe was good because she ate all of it and she did not complain. However my chicken fajitas seemed as though they were sitting on a heater for quite some time, when they came out they were barely sizzling and dry. I got a tiny scoop of pico de gallo, rice, and charro beans. My tortillas were dry. While we were eating nobody checked on us and I saw all of the waiters leaning against the wall on their phones. We sat and ate all of our food, absolutely no one checked on us while we were eating. And our waiter completely disappeared. There were people coming in eating and leaving while we were just sitting there with empty plates and empty drinks. I finally had to stand up and ask for a check. I had to apologize to my friend because I think I embarrassed her. But there was no one hardly in the restaurant and I was talking very loudly about us not receiving our check and no one was attending to us. Overall this experience was terrible and this is exactly why I have never been to this restaurant. Probably because it was during lunch is why the service and food was terrible. If I ever go back I will change my rating if it's any different. But bottom line the food was terrible our waiter left us, and no one attended to us afterwards.
