Been here over 10 times always with a positive experience. The food is delicious and the staff is super friendly and attentive. There's a large, free parking lot behind the building on Broadview Drive. No need to go elsewhere honestly.
The food is always fresh and delicious!! They have the most amazing rolls. The service is awesome, the owners are almost always there making sure everything is running smoothly, they treat thier customers like family and go out thier way to make sure everyone is happy.
Best Happy Hour ever. Service is excellent.. Food and Ambiance with an upbeat Music we can chill... Lounge vibe. It's so chic and I like it. I recommend. Will surely be back!!
Very good service! We didn't wait long and and the servers were very kind! The food was amazing for what we paid for!!! Would recommend this to place to anyone who likes sushi!
I went here with a few friends and had a great time. It wasn't too busy and the food was delicious and the prices were fair. Will definitely go back again!
My favorite sushi spot for lunch, been coming here for about 5 years now. Never a dissapointed. So far my favorite are their salads. They have added a new menu "lunch specials" & "happy hour" both have good portions at affordable prices. Service has lacked now that they have new waitresses. Mimi was one of my favorites. Prices are fair can't complain you are in the city of "Glendale" but again the lunch special menu and happy hour menu are worth your buck and serving. Atmosphere is cool, all ages, they also have a variety of music playing as you eat your lunch. If you like hip hop and sushi this is the place to be. Parking can be better, front is metered, back area is limited, good luck finding a space.
Service is great! Alice has been our server the last few times and has been very personable and have given us a great experience. Food and price is on par with other sushi spots around the area.
Trendy and hip. Great service, young crowd. Kids welcome with pop music. Great fun with friends and couples. Sushi was fresh with fast service. Great place for late dinner and after a visit to Descanso Gardens. I would come here again.
The food is delicious and good, the staff is very kind to the customers, I have never had a bad experience here. They also have covid cautions still in place which is nice, and they are generally clean with the tables and stuff.
We are regular here & we order for delivery almost 2 times a week. Cant get enough honestly. I love every roll & tried everything here but my fav is the jalapeno salmon, crispy tuna on rice & garlic edamame.
Great food and service and the staff is so sweet. Especially the waitress that attends to everyone's needs! :) Thank you!!
I walked passed this restaurant and decided to go in fortunately they were open, the Host and Server's are pleasant and the decor is very Now and Clean. The sushi are fresh and delicious. Check it out Cheers.
Oh my god. The food here was amazing. I went with a friend on a Friday night and we only waited 10-15 minutes for a booth. We ordered several appetizers and they were all delicious. The food came out very quick and everything tasted amazing. The servers were all very attentive. We were there a while and didn’t feel rushed. I’m definitely coming back more often. Keep up the great service and food!!
Some good sushi, great atmosphere, and great service. First time visiting this area and it's located in a great area. Would love to go back sometime and was worth the 23mi drive from W. LA.

This is our go to sushi spot. We go here at least once a month. The other sushi spots are solid, but this is always where we end up coming back to and having the best experience. They treat you like family, and the food is delicious. Prices are reasonable, and well worth it. Great service. Our server Sarah was prompt, attentive, proactive, thoughtful, and friendly! Tasty sushi. We got salmon nigiri, salmon sashimi, jalapeño salmon roll, and tempura calamari roll; all delicious. We also got the Shumai appetizer - that was not too impactful as compared to the rest. Overall vibe is solid, the outdoor area could use a little tlc/refinement; but clean and down overall. One thing we would was that the outdoor tables were too tall for the chairs; or perhaps the chairs were too low. It made the eating seated position a bit awkward. But overall, great experience, quick service, no wait during prime dinner time. Friendly staff. Some parking on Honolulu, and a few lots south of the Main Street. One note, there is a martial arts school a few doors west of the restaurant, and during class pick-up/drop off it can get a little crowded. We were blocked in our car, which was parked on Honolulu, upon our exit around 8pm. We normally go to Blue Fish across the way. While Blue Fish has a nicer outdoor dining atmosphere, we felt Sake had better value, and portions. And their sushi was just as delicious. Our favorite dishes: Salmon nigiri Jessica Roll (avocado, cucumber, shrimp tempura inside; tuna, salmon, avocado - outside) Garlic Chili Salmon Poke Bowl Amazing staff!!!! Love them. 12.2025 update: still amazing! And shout out to Robert. He is a great server. Connects with you, remembers you and your order, and treats you like his family! He strikes the perfect balance of attentive, and non-intrusive. He is critical component of why we love coming here. He always elevates our experience, and we appreciate him a ton.
This is a great restaurant on the beautiful street of Honolulu. It has a cozy atmosphere and kind staff. The sashimi was tasty and the flavors were balanced. Totally would recommend! They could improve the bathroom a bit though...
That was my second time eating here. I got the pork ramen. The broth was one of the best I have ever had. My mom loves the music. My grandpa says it is too much food, but he keeps eating it. My dad kept stealing my ramen, and my brother loves his udon. I also love decorations which give a great impression. Although I am just a kid, I know that this place great Japanese cuisine.
Our server (Alice) was very kind and helpful. Popped in for a quick bite - food was tasty and beautiful (and fast). So good, we came back the same night to eat more when we had more time!
I lived in the area for many years but never noticed this restaurant. A family member visiting from Brazil wanted sushi and found this gem on yelp. I was unsure about the place being that it never caught my eye, but oh boy! Was I in for a surprise! The food was delicious! The prices were amazing! I haven't had such good sushi and rolls at the price of fast food! Quality was great! Service was outstanding! Our server was incredibly friendly. Will definitely be back again!

Service was excellent. Food very good. The ambiance was mediocre. Would definitely go back. Price was reasonable for sushi.
fantastic sushi. everything is fresh. the service is good and the sushi is always good too. if you write a review they offer 10% discount. you must write the review before your order or they do not honor the discount. I reviewed on yelp. and shared on Facebook and instagram as per the offer. they did not give the discount.
The quality of the fish was pretty good, but 1) everything on the menu was priced for almost double compared to any other sushi bar in the area and 2) the rolls were not authentic. If you are walking the Montrose strip and want sushi, Sake is the place to be. But it you are scanning options in the area, I would recommend looking elsewhere
The food was great. The only complaint is that the service was very slow. To be attended to, I had to raise my hand several times
A little bit pushy with the appetizer and only giving it to us with the main course 🙄 but over all the experience was great.
Ordered sushi to go and it was very delicious. They were very kind when we asked for extra soy sauce and wasabi. Its flavorful unique and the edamame was yummy with the garlic !
Had a couple service problems but the food was phenomenal! Besides sushi, there weren't really any other menu options besides ramen and teriyaki. I ordered Ramen and the ramen had pork in it even though it did not list that pork was in it on the menu. The waitress quickly replaced my order though. The sushi was fire! Bathrooms were exceptionally clean. Overall I would recommend this place but just make sure you ask about what comes with your food in case you don't eat pork.
I'm torn with this review. The staff was amazing, it's in a cute location, and a majority of the experience was amazing, but there were a few standout issues. I think it was just a fluke, but when you try a place for the first time, everything kinda counts. We were taken to a table where it looked like the previous parties leftovers were dumped right onto the floor. When the host tried sitting us at the next table, it seemed to have the same issue. The place isn't very big, but being marched to a table and having that happen, only to be marched back to the hostess stand kinda puts a damper on your date. Once seated, the servers did well. We ordered a large chef's choice sashimi place. While the presentation was well done, some of the selections seemed out of place. I don't know many western palates that thoroughly enjoy mackerel. All in all though, I would definately come back and try some of the other offerings.

The appetizers where better then the Tokyo roll, sunset mania. Couldn't tell between the two both had shrimp which where too chewy. For 17$ we expected more. Edmemame, tempura, calamari where better.
Great quality but terrible slow service. Half our party got their food first and finished by the time the other half got their food. Something must have changed in management or staffing. I normally don't believe 1 star reviews but the other recent 1 star reviews were correct.
The service of this place has gone to the crapper. The customer service is horrible, the quality control almost non existent. What people have know and lived about sake sushi is long gone with the previous owner. I was a loyal customer for over 7 years and my last couple of visits I started to notice little things changing. The most important was the food quality and that was the last draw.
Food was Ok. I've had better sushi and expected more. Service was good but the quality of the food needed to be better. Sashimi was a bit pasty. Their rolls looked good but didn't deliver on taste. And their garlic edamame tasted like it was washed with dirty water.
I went there and ordered dinner. They ran out of green tea? I got hot water instead. I got my bill and they charged me for the tea and over charged me for 2 other items. They will rip you off there so be careful. Plus all of their food had too much pepper powder so very spicy. They are not a real Japanese restaurant. They did not have Chirashi which EVERY Japanese restaurant has. I will not go back.
This must be a completely different bar from when John used to own it I immediately realized this! I knew there was a new owner the minute I ate my first Sushi and drank my first sip of miso soup the extremely young and very annoying sushi chef was loudly communicating throughout the bar with equally young and inexperienced staff!! what in the world happened to Old Sake sushi
This place went from a 7/10 to a 1/10 within the span of months after new management. I was a regular here but it's horrible now. Check my review on Yelp. Food quality has gone so far down its shameful. Shame on the new owners. They will not last very long.
We use to come to this restaurant often and always had a great meal and time. We moved away for a few years and now have moved back and thought we would start going again, this time not so special. Restaurant was nearly empty, rap/pop music playing extremely loud. We asked the server if they could turn it down a bit, which they did, then about 5 minutes later, Sushi chef cranked it back up again as if you were in a dance club not to mention the loud noises he would make every couple of minutes. Very disappointed and now we are looking for a new sushi restaurant. Do not go here
Our waiter took down our drinks orders and didn't come back for 15 minutes. We ordered our rolls and they they brought one out and had the rest come out every 10 minutes. I had to ask for our food and I noticed that our food had been sitting on their counter for 15-20 minutes without anyone brining it to us. Our baked rolls were cold and the loud club music did not make for a pleasant experience. At the price point I was more than disappointed at the experience.
This place has gone down big time. Specifically, it meeds an overhaul of the waitstaff and a full on remodel. We ordered miso soup as an appetizer, it didn’t arrive until almost all the rolls were out. We actually had to remind the waitress before we got it. I had an issue with my food and wanted to speak to the manager as the waitress was no use. The waitress said the manager is not here. Mind you this is a Sunday afternoon. Got the bill, they had AUTOMATICALLY included a 20% gratuity for a party of 4. Asked about this and she mumbled and said something jlike party of 4 or more we add tip. I asked whether it is disclosed in the menu, she looks at me and says NO!. Definitely not coming here again as there are too many newer and much better choices in Pasadena and Glendale.
Miso soup tasted odd...It made us sick...we couldn't eat it. We took the rest of diner to go . The rice was very dry and sushi very iffy. We ended up throwing it all out when we got home cause we were all sick...could have been the soup or the food in general. The restaurant did not smell very clean....Who place needs a once over...the are some holes in the walls. Up to you what you wanna tolerate....Although the service was good...oh well live and learn
Delivered the order and the order was completely wrong. They left out two main dinners and never got in touch with me and still charge me for them. had to go to their place of business to have them fix it. there was no complimentary item and there was practically no apology. Recommend you check your order before your driver goes away. Also when I tried to call them on the phone their mailbox was full so I couldn't even talk to someone at the restaurant.
I have been going to sake for 6 years. Quite honestly the portions for what you pay are ridiculously overpriced. This is the last time I will be eating at this restaurant, as the lobstermania used to being entire dish, now shrank down to a few pieces of sushi if you even call it that. Four of the six roles I received just contained avocado rice and seaweed. $17 for rice, seaweed, and avocado with no actual meat. Apparently business is under new ownership as of July. Service used to be mediocre and the only reason I came was because the food was good but now the food is poor and the services is worse than before. On a Saturday night with less than 25% of the restaurant full I only saw my waiter for less than a minute, only coming to my table once to get the order and never checked on me again. My beverage was empty for the majority of the stay and was never refilled ever. The environment inside has degraded as well as plaster is coming off the wall inside the booths in every table. The soap dispenser in the men's restroom doesn't even work, not even sure how the male employees can wash their hands according to state standards. I asked the staff how the staff wash their hands and was told with soap and water when asked how when the soap doesn't work, I was told that management was being cheap.
Food was good. Service was terrible. It is under new ownership and staff, although nice, were clueless. 2 of our rolls we ordered took 1.5 hours to finally receive at the table. And this was after talking to 3 different staff.
HORRIBLE PLACE! I was with my little puppy they told me that its okay to seat outside and then came and said that dogs are not allowed when we ordered our food (my dog is a service animal) The service is horrible here and the waitresses don’t know how to talk respect fully with a customer. They gave me attitude and I just left from there Never going back
Overpriced. This is a photo of a $17 sushi roll. And the food was not good, ingredients were cheap. Won’t be returning here.
Walk in 9:35 pm, get turned away saying that they are closed won’t try to come here again just got that
NO wonder why this place has no business and gone down the drain. I am just shocked what this place has become from what it was years ago. I used to come here twice a week today is the last time I will ever step food in this restaurant. Food is disgusting, we had to complain almost about every plate that was brought to our table, something I never have to do at places like seaweed handroll bar and Hikari! And they make you feel very uncomfortable complaining as if it is your fault the sushi is bad. I specifically asked the lady server look if the sushi is not fresh just don’t bring it to me because the Spicy Tuna handroll was very dry and the only way it would be like that if it was siting in the container for a very long time. She didn’t acknowledge the warning signs I gave her and she kept bringing what we ordered and I had to send back an awfully smelly stenchy Scallop handroll that reeks from a mile away. I also had to send back two lobster handrolls because it tasted sour! Furthermore, no sauce and the lobster was cold! On top of all this I found a dead fly on one of my plates that was the end of my experience (see attached) I asked for the check and told her you can even charge me for the plate that had the fly I just want to get out of here. Anyways she comes back and sure does charge me for the plate with fly in it. This is coming from an avid frequent sushi eater, if you guys want a sushi place where it won’t get you seriously sick do not eat here. This place proves its carelessness towards their customers health and well-being by serving rotten fish that can make you end up in the hospital. This place will not survive like this and I can now understand why they no longer have the business they used to years ago with the previous owners.

One server on a Friday night? Are you guys serious? Stop being cheap and hire one more person. I never come here for this reason and their food is mediocre at best. Also, how do you not have soy sauce treys? When asked you bring a small deep sauce container and say you guys haven't washed the actual containers because there was a rush earlier. Which is hard to believe since the new owners have ruined this place and name. Terrible treatment of your employees because they couldn't keep up. Greedy vultures.
Unfortunately, Food doesn't test, and bad customer service
Forced my 12 year old son and his three other friends to pay tip 20%. My son and his friends always the same group 2 boys 2 girls they always leave a generous tip. And always has there fav waiter that they see all the time. But this time it was a waiter they never seen and when the bill came around it was 100$ so 20%is 20$ when my son and his friend tried to tell the waitress that they didn’t select 20% tip nor did she ever say anything about a tip my son was explaining to her that once again they didn’t say they were going to pay a 20$ Tip she said it’s mandatory you have to pay tip. When my son responded saying you can’t force anyone under a group of 6 people to tip nor should you ever force them to tip she left the check didn’t void the tip and complains at how they weren’t paying with card! The food is somewhat good. no complaints in till this day!
