Absolutely amazing! Love this place and the people who work there. We booked 11:00 excursions for 2 days- Feb. 24 & 25. Both trips we saw and were able to touch whales, but one day was much better than the other. I recommend going out more than 1 day because you just never know about nature. Sometimes it cooperates and sometimes not so much. . The people were very friendly and informative. They love sharing the whales with others but they are also very protective of them. It is all about making sure the whales are safe and happy. We stayed for lunch both days - the food was really good and well worth it.
My wife and I stayed for 2 nights Feb 1-3 and it was an amazing time. The cabin was very clean with a fantistic view of the ocean. We sat on the porch watching the sunsets. We went out four times on the whale tours and was able to touch a friendly whale one of those times. The staff were super friendly and nice. We requested vegetarian food and were very pleased with the quality and taste of our food they gave us! We plan on coming back at the beginning of March and hopefully be able to touch a baby whale.
Absolutely fabulous! Great facilities, hosts, guides, and captains. Food was delicious and plentiful (Happy Hour also allowed us to mingle over the included drinks with other guests and staff). And whales? OMG!!! Wide variety of males, females, and babies, and they were just as curious about us as we were of them! We learned so much and enjoyed watching some of the whales' different behaviors. "Spy Hopping" was my favorite. Simply a "Must Do" experience and Antonio's is the perfect Ecotour provider!!!
It would have been 6 stars if they let me drive the boat a bit but it was amazing none the less. They were super accommodating and kind. The camping and food were also wonderful.
This place offered a wonderful experience. Despite encountering strong winds, cold, and sandstorms, and seeing fewer whales than on previous lagoon visits, the atmosphere was exceptional. The ANTONIO'S ECOTOURS team was incredibly responsive, hospitable, and always ready to assist. They accommodated every wish. The food was delicious, and we enjoyed twice-daily whale-watching boat trips. In the evenings, they showed scientific films, and the qualified guides answered all our questions. We felt truly loved and welcomed.
outstanding, nice and friendly site, offered good food and knowledgeable in what they do.. no luxury but still great service. we went on 4 trips , 3 days and 2 nights. for me, captain Davide was clearly the best driver and didn't waste time on whales who were not interested in interacting with the boat. that last trip was absolutely incredible, and I wish everyone could experience the same what we did.. I would like to come back one day..
Beyond amazing. The entire crew and staff took such great care of us all. I have mobility issues (use walking sticks or a walker) and everyone was so helpful and caring, ensuring I got on and off the pangas safely. A very special GRACIAS to “Jerry”. The captains were so knowledgeable of and so careful around the whales. Mamas and babies interacted with us on each outing. Oh, and our meals! Muy bueno 😍
There are no words to describe this wonderful experience. We stayed for 2 nights with Antonio and went on 4 whale tours; it was me, my husband, and our 7-year-old daughter. The place is magnificent, secluded yet you don't feel alone because the people running it make you feel at home. The bay, with whales blowing on the horizon, is enchanting. There's a lot of socializing with other guests, exchanging opinions, photos, and chatting about this and that. Water and electricity are precious resources to be used without waste, but in a place like this, we wouldn't expect anything different. Each cabin has its own private (sand) toilet, a lamp for the evening, and power to charge phones and cameras; showers are shared and have hot water. Any additional comforts would be in stark contrast to the purity and charm of the place. The whales are truly friendly and playful; like us, they have different personalities, some more sociable than others. The guides and captains are extremely respectful, keeping their distance and letting the whales approach. We touched and kissed several whales that spontaneously came to interact with the boat. It was a lifelong dream. In our hearts, we carry Balvi, Paula, Jerry, and the boat captains!
Our experience at Antonio’s was top notch. While the accommodations are basic, they were very clean and comfortable. The food was good, the guides very knowledgeable, and the whale encounters were AMAZING, which is what it is all about. We will definitely return to San Ignacio — and Antonio’s — again.
Wonderful experience. Camped one night $10 per person. They will cook dinner for you at $12 we brought our own food heard it's really good tho. Clean bathroom hot shower. Free coffee and tea in the morning. Daniel was our guide very knowledgeable and funny. Saw tons of whales. Poula Paula with an O was a gracious hostess and spoke perfect English. Can't wait to go back in a few weeks to see more whales.
If you find yourself looking for an experience of a lifetime this is your place. This is an absolutely wonderful place. The staff is wonderful, kind, and extremely knowledgeable. The business is owned and run by locals so it is a wonderful opportunity to support the local economy. They offer whale tours ( the season January -March depending on the whales) You can opt to stay at the location (they have different packages that include meals and whale tours), or just drive in for the day for a tour. Call ahead to book because it is a long drive to get turned away due to weather or unavailability. We stayed for a couple of nights, the meals were wonderful and healthy (the staff try to accommodate for certain diet restrictions), and the whale tours are an amazing adventure! The camp is completely off grid so they have composting toilets ( great alternative to pit pot or potra potys!!! Also better for the environment. ), Solar power, and limited to water from rain or what is shipped in. The road to the camp is a dirt road that is a little bumpy, but almost any car can make the journey. The accommodations we clean and comfortable!
I gotta say I’m very impressed. There was an issue with reservations. (Things happen) The way it was handled was terrific. They made concessions for us, and all my guests were very very happy. I’m an off-road tour guide and customer service is important to me. Antonio displayed awesome customer service. my guest had a wonderful time watching Wales and we had a relaxing evening the night prior. Highly recommended. I can’t say enough nice things about them.
Antonio’s was such a great crew of kind hearted guides. Gerry was very responsive online and in person. They are family and locals who really care for the land and the whales. I felt very safe with our little kids able to explore the ocean property. I will definitely come back here!
Provided a once in a lifetime experience petting whales. Cannot more highly recommend Antonio’s ecotours, they were extremely accommodating and flexible with our dates, the food and sense of community is also amazing.
My first time whale watching in Baja. I had trouble deciding which tour company to chose from but sooo glad I chose Antonio’s. They are very organized, efficient, and the staff goes above and beyond to make this whale watching trip a once in a lifetime experience. Plus the boats were sturdy, nice, and clean. Easy to call and make a reservation. The receptionist speaks English and Spanish. She is friendly, welcoming, and full of helpful knowledge. At Antonio’s there are camping spots available. Clean restrooms. Good food and restaurant. For the tours, I recommend going 45 minutes early (instead of 30) to enjoy coffee, tea, treats, and the environment. Thank you to everyone at Antonio’s Eco Tour.
Gerardo and his team run a first class facility in what is essentially a wilderness outside of the accommodations. The food was absolutely outstanding and cooked/served by a team of talented cooks including Balvi, one of the most genuine and nicest human beings I have ever met. The captains are all skilled/knowledgeable and operate their boats with great care, especially when near the whales. This was an experience of a lifetime. Thanks to the Aguilar’s for continuing to offer such a splendid experience… awesome!
A fantastic experience with an awesome staff! The whales were epic and the staff treated us like family! We could not have asked for more. It is a bucket list worthy trip! Highly recommend this place and people.

They are great. Second time going out with them. Really appreciate the care the captain’s take and efforts to give us a great experience with the whales while keeping us safe.
We had the most memorable trip with Antonio's ecotours, a professional outfit from start to finish. We were hosted by the lovely Paola, and Daniele our boat captain had an amazing talent for spotting the whales. Both were charming and very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. Dinner is a simple but tasty affair, we had margaritas as well. Paola also showed us the local bird spot and leant us her book which just added to the magic of the place. Would 100% recommend!
Amazing experience! These guys are the BEST! They get you to the whales 🐋 Definitely a once in a lifetime experience..I recommend coming here 💯
A wonderful experience! The staff were great in bringing us out to enjoy the whales. Also, the meal that was available afterwards was excellent!
Highly recommend this tour in the protected lagoon of San Ignacio. Antonio’s tour guide, Balbie, was lovely, speaking fluently English and took care of us. The boat driver Daniel also gave us explanation about wales and stories about them, he was very helpful to look at the wales. We had an amazing journey.
We read about the Dan Ignacio Lagune that the whale encounters can be very close, so close even that you can touch a whale! Full of hope but with less expectations we checked in st Antonio's ecotours. The place is wonderfull, the remoteness, very basic cabins and the welcoming friendly staff. In the communal building we were served with truly deliscious mexican cuisine. Buritos, rice, various salsas like guacemole, vegetables and fresh fish tacos if you like. At our first whalewatch cruise we did see quite alot of whales but less good than expected. They were all quite far and went down as soon as we got there. Then 2nd whalewatch in the morning was amazing. We had interaction with a mother and a baby who actually came to our boat to interact with us. We even had the chance to touch both the mother and babywhale. It was magical and an experience never to forget. A must do when you are at the right time in Baja California!
Outstanding experience. Company picked us up at our lodging. It is about an hour drive from San Ignacio on varied road conditions. The check in building has wifi and they take PayPal. The process is a challenge as wifi is slow and PayPal uses a 2 step notification. Patience is required. Boat out to the whales takes about 15-20 minutes. Everyone is very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend the company and experience.
Amazing day! I showed up without transportation in San Ignacio and they still got me out there the next day. The weather was perfect, our captain was outstanding, and we got to pet a whale multiple times. It’ll be a hard to beat experience
Great watching and petting experience. The service is great. The food is awesome and very affordable. The only downside (no fault of Antonio’s) is the road is VERY rough. If you have a big RV you are better to camp in town and drive out yourself or catch the shuttle.
