Best Mexican restaurant in Napa for sure, you won’t find a better Mexican restaurant in Napa , all drinks are made with fresh squeezed lime juice must places use fake lime juice the well tequila is espolón really good quality for a well, mole enchiladas extremely delicious, sea food chile relleno , tlacoyos and much more.
My husband and I had a lovely time here and it was actually our favorite part of our vacation to Napa. The food, drinks, and service were outstanding. We shared the Huitlacoche appetizer which was filling enough that we almost regretted ordering main course meals. I had the Chile Relleno and margarita flight (and I’m still thinking about the amazing flavors). My husband had the Birria taco plate with mezcal flight. We would definitely come back!
I recently visited Las Agaves in Napa and had the most amazing steak tacos! The meat was perfectly seasoned and tender, and the fresh toppings added the perfect touch. The flavors were incredible, and the service was top-notch. I highly recommend this place for anyone craving authentic Mexican cuisine. Five stars all the way! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
The food at Los Agaves is so amazing. The chips were very fresh, Quesabirria and sauce were good too. The arrachera was cooked and seasoned perfectly. Everything about our experience here was excellent. Our waiter Ivan was very helpful and did a great job recommending items and helping us. The food came out quickly and was so tasty. The fresh corn tortillas were so good. Highly recommend restaurant.
Really good food. The drink was made well. Tortilla chips could be made less oily, perhaps. Very friendly staff!
Stopped by to have a drink and appetizer waiting on some friends to arrive for dinner at Waterfront Grill. Had some good tequila and tacos while waiting. Our bartender, Johnathan, was super friendly and helpful. Recommendation to drop by Auberge du Soleil for sunset drinks after our Sterling tasting was a huge hit. Johnathan’s kind and friendly demeanor made my first drink in Napa made the start of the trip a success. Drop by and have a drink and food at the bar if you’re in the area.
Absolutely delicious food, large servings for a decent price. Really enjoyed the service as well!
The is a brand new restaurant in Napa and related to La Cheves a stable in Napa. This places was amazing as well and the service was good based on how packed it was. Food - 10/10 - the make the tortillas fresh in house and everything was full of flavor. Atmosphere was nice, semi dark setting a nice date vibe Service was good, Ivan was our waiter and did a job recommending food and making sure we were well taking care of.
I am a happy we were able to enjoy our Anniversary dinner here. Ricky was very accommodating on a day if reservation for my party if 12 and two guests having food allergies. We were greeted and seated and Rodolfo was our server. He was excellent. A few things really were crowd pleasers. To begin the chips and salsa and guacamole. Definitely one of the best guacamoles around. Not to mention the smoky deep flavor to the homemade salsa with the adobo Chilis really shining through giving it at almost mole take on salsa. The octopus tostadas were incredible. The octopus was prepared on a tostada with fresh ingredients and topped with avocado. Two tostadas would have been sufficient for me for a meal alone but to share was even better. Our guests enjoyed their chile rellenos and the lamb. The reviews in the lamb was that it was flavored perfectly and they both finished it because it was so good. This Napa Mexican Restaurant is not your everyday Mexican restaurant the elevated menu makes it a special treat. Definitely try it out on your visit to Napa.
Absolutely a top end Mexican restaurant with gourmet food on Main Street in downtown Napa. Although it's a busy place, the wait staff was efficient and professional. A full bar with seating options inside and outside. A bit noisy, but very satisfying overall and someplace worth returning to.
Everything I have was good. I got the Birria enchiladas with rice and beans. Everything seems fresh and on point. The beans are really amazing. I do recommend getting some of their habanero salsa to go on top of it. The food really didn’t have any type of fire kick the portions were of medium size. They still have energy to go out shopping, but I would definitely come back.
My family & I had an exceptional experience here from start to finish, everything exceeded expectations. The service was outstanding, with the staff going above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. And the food? Absolutely beyond delicious—each dish was expertly crafted and full of flavor. We fell in love with the guacamole and each dish truly brightened our day. This place is truly a Napa Valley staple, especially if you are a lover of tequila, Mexican cuisine and a good time (duh). It’s easy to see why. Highly recommend it for anyone visiting the area - ask for Edgar!
The staff was incredibly friendly and polite, making the experience even more enjoyable. The service was quick, with minimal waiting time, and the food was absolutely delicious—paired perfectly with their tasty margaritas! The vibrant and cheerful atmosphere added to the overall charm of the place.
Delicious margaritas… Absolutely amazing BIRRIA tacos…. delicious chips and salsa… Overall fantastic outing. ( and happy hour Monday through Friday… 11:30 AM to 6 PM?? Wow… Amazing ) And a huge shout out to bartender… “Poli Thank you for a fantastic experience
We loved it. The Arrachera was great! The service was amazing, the people were very friendly, the chips and salsa were really good and I judge kind of harsh on that, this was good salsa. I would come back again for sure and I would recommend this place if you want some good Mexican. We sat outside and the heaters were on and we had a great time. Thank you to Los Agaves! Enrique V was our server and he was great, honestly we couldn’t say anything bad about this place. Ps. Food was so good we chomped it all down before I had the chance to take a picture… sorry the pics are of empty plates. But I bet you’ll empty your plates too!
What I order Margarita: The margarita was tart and refreshing, with a hint of lime. Steak: The steak was tender and flavorful, cooked to perfection. Guacamole: The guacamole was chunky and made with fresh ingredients. You could really taste the avocado! Chocolate Moose: The chocolate mousse was rich and decadent, the perfect ending to a delicious meal. Overall Impression: I had a great experience at Los Agaves. The food was delicious, the service was friendly, and I will definitely recommend this place!
Food was great, especially recommend for the table El queso fundido, quesabirria, ceviche and ChileAjo Pork Shank for entrée. Great cocktail list with a focus in Mezcal to get you out of your comfort zone. But they also have a full bar.
Great new spot! We tried the cucumber and strawberry margaritas which were delicious as well as the "papasito" which had a salt foam on it which was super cool and also tasty. The food was hot and yummy and they were very accommodating for our family with 2 young kids although it was a much more adult vibe than we would normally take the kids to. The waiter was polite and speedy. The employee refilling water and taking our plates as we finished was so attentive and incredibly polite. The portion for my chicken dish was large but my husband ordered the 7oz steak and would have eaten the larger 14oz option had he ordered it. Great to have options! Overall an incredible experience and so excited to go back without the kids and try a few more drinks.
Food and vibes are great here. Their Salsa is wonderful right amount of spice to it. The drinks are mixed perfectly not to strong but the right kick to it Entrees were really tasty and they have such nice plates that add to the overall vibe will definitely come back
This is my second time visiting Los Agaves in downtown Napa. The atmosphere is wonderful and service is friendly and very attentive. Even though it was the weekend and they were busy, everyone was smiling and working together. The food is phenomenal, I came back especially for the Quesabirrias. We also tried the Alambre, it was delicious and the portion was on the larger size. It comes with homemade corn tortillas that are made to order, next time I will be ordering a separate order of just the tortillas! We also tried the guacamole and the Fundido, the chips they provide are delicious and taste fresh and they constantly bring more when you are running low. The cocktail list is amazing, I tried the margarita flight with the fruit and salt tasting and I felt like I was on vacation. Very refreshing! They have a great selection of tequila but are not limited to just tequila. They offer wine and other spirits as well. They have outdoor seating and a large bar, plenty of tables with beautiful decor. This place would be great for a date night, birthday party or just a quick bite to eat. Definitely will be back!!
We have been to Los Agaves Napa already 3 times since they opened last month in their new Napa downtown location, beautifully stylish, great lighting, and lively ambiance! First, I am going to recommend you to get a drink, their cocktail list is AMAZING! Izy, their mixologist has become our favorite bartender in Napa Valley, one of the best, creative and great to talk to bartenders we know. Then get yourself an appetizer, ceviche or their quesabirrias are great to start. For your dinner, our favorite items have been their chicken with salsa de Nopal, enchiladas de salsa de mole, and Asada with chimichurri y Ensalada de nopal. We look forward to continuing exploring their menu and invite you to give them a try you will love it.
Fantastic Mexican food in Napa California. Service was great. The wait was short and it was the weekend of Valentine's Day.
Excellent fish tacos and margaritas !! We had a set of the deep fried and BBQ versions. Both were real tasty with the great cocktails. The restaurant and bar are beautifully decorated.
Food was great, especially recommend for the table El queso fundido, quesabirria, ceviche and ChileAjo Pork Shank for entrée. Great cocktail list with a focus in Mezcal to get you out of your comfort zone. But they also have a full bar.
Nice and cozy environment First time visiting My favorite Margarita on the house Good costumer service

A must visit place when you're in Napa. This authentic Mexican Restaurant hits on every level. Everything I've had their has been incredible! From their bar drinks to their home made tortillas. Their flavor reminds me of mom's cooking.

Cute little tucked away place in Fairfield. Waitress had good tequila recommendations. Food was pretty decent. Would return.
This review is in regards to Napa Restaurant Month 2025 (January). Their special was $29 which included a Margarita, appetizer of corn soup (which we all were looking forward to try but they ran out early afternoon), Apple Salad, or 2 Tacos Dorados (chicken taquitos), and a 2 taco (birria, carnitas, chicken, or veggie) plate with rice and beans. We made a reservation for 6pm for 4 since we knew it would be busy on a 3 day holiday and the start of the Light Festival. Service was great, we got guava and mango margaritas, I got the Apple salad which was super fresh and well and not overly dressed. Within our group of 4 we got the birria, carnitas, and chicken. Our server said carnitas were his favorite and birria and chicken were popular. The meats were really good and we all liked the beans as well. Such a great deal, for dessert we shared a guava cheesecake. They also had $10 shots of tequila as a special. There’s street parking right along the outside and there are parking garages nearby. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and bathrooms located down the hallway. They have TVs to watch sport games and it’s nicely decorated inside.

For the number of restaurants that come and go, this one has held it's own along the waterfront strip of downtown Napa. It's pretty straight up Mexican food. Between the four of us, we had the chips and salsa, alambre, green enchiladas and camarones. All were filling and the salsa was tasty.
Just ok; wouldn't rush back. Got shrimp a la diabla & Alhambra - wouldn't order either again. Salsa was tasty, chips were good.
The restaurant is beautiful, with a lovely atmosphere, but it’s a bit on the pricey side. I asked if I could order an à la carte taco, but the server said he’d need manager approval — and the manager wasn’t available. Apparently, my request didn’t meet their ordering criteria. We ended up just having a drink and leaving without ordering food. A little disappointing given how nice the place looked.
We were encouraged to go there for good traditional Mexican food, but were a little disappointed. We made a reservation to be outside and the hostess seemed surprised by it; we were lucky there was a table ready. I ordered the braised lamb; they were out. We both got enchiladas (mole & verde) that were good, but nothing impressive to come back for, nor flavorful. In every Mexican restaurant we’ve been, they offer little tortillas chips and salsa to start; here they are $6. Tortillas with your meal, like every Mexican place? No, you have to pay for them. No salsa or sauce on the table to add flavor. Meals are not cheap either. Staff was polite, but we were treated like numbers. We were thinking to take Mezcal at the end, but rather decided to leave. We know better Mexican places than here, sorry. We won’t be back.
We called days in advance to set a reservation for 730pm with our party of 5 people. We arrived at 730, no table ready. The person at the front said it would be 15-20 mins. No apology or anything, just said that and walked away for 5-7 mins. The line backed up just to check in. It wasn’t very busy IN the restaurant… so it was odd. We finally sat down, and our waiter was really nice and helpful, but the food was incredibly bland and over priced. We got birria (for appetizers this was good) The burrito was ok, but just, no flavor. One person ordered cheese enchiladas and they brought them with chicken. She asked for them to not have chicken and cheese instead, they returned with, cheese, inside chicken enchiladas…. What if she was a vegetarian? The other person ordered chicken enchiladas with no beans on the side, but that came with beans all over the side of the plate, it was almost funny how much there was… The flan was dry and thick. Don’t order it. *** ALSO, if you have 5 people, they automatically charge you 20% tip. Which is fine if the service is good, but we had plates all over our table the whole time. Our water cups were empty multiple times and we have to call someone over to get some more water. It just wasn’t a good experience at all. I’m giving it 2 instead of 1 Star because our waiter was actually very nice and helpful, when he actually came by.

The atmosphere and staff were great but I am afraid I cannot say the same for the food. Both vegetarian and chicken tacos had no flavor. Kids’ burrito was loaded with cheese, beans, and some chicken. Overpriced for the contents and flavor!
